Theresa Roiger, 91, of Springfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Springfield, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield.
She is survived by sons, Don and wife Joyce of Chaska, James of St. Louis, Mo.; daughter, Marie and husband Richard Koldborg of Burnsville; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudolph in 1980; brothers, Andrew, Joseph, George, Otto, John, Tony and Art; sisters, Mary, Kate, Clara, Amelia, Bertha and Veronica; and seven siblings who died in infancy or early childhood.
She was born July 3, 1908, in Albin Township, to George and Theresa (Suess) Eckstein. She married Rudolph Herbert Roiger on Oct. 11, 1927 in Sleepy Eye. They lived in Springfield. She was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Springfield, where she was president of the Altar Society, director of juveniles in St. Monica Court and a member of St. Joan's mission group. She was a member of the hospital auxiliary, Third Order of St. Francis, American Legion Auxiliary and Senior Citizens of which she served as treasurer and president. She helped start Meals for Shut-ins. She was a driver for senior citizens and a cook at Springfield Community Hospital for 18 years. She retired in 1974.
Memorials are preferred to St. John's Memorial Home, Springfield.

Regina Mahal, 94, of Wabasso died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
Mass of Christian Burial is 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and continues Friday one hour prior to services at the church.
There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. today followed by a rosary.
Regina is survived by her son, Mark Mahal of Wabasso; son-in-law, Wally Toltzman of New Ulm; four grandchildren, Kevin Toltzman, Patrick Toltzman, Tammy Malik and Michael Koerner; brother, Francis Kopel of Marvin, S.D.; and sisters, Leona Schafer of Renville, Alma Thornton of Rochester and Rosemary Ashton of Shakopee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Patricia Toltzman and Judy Koerner; brothers, George and Paul Kopel; and sisters, Bertha Kopel, Julia Pastoors and Rita Brown.
She was born June 11, 1905, in Haverhill, Iowa, to Frank and Mary (Pille) Kopel. She moved with her family to South Dakota in 1906, then to the St. Cloud area in 1910 and later to the Avoca area. She married Joseph W. Mahal on Feb. 3, 1931, in Avoca . They lived in Wabasso. Joseph died Feb. 3, 1968. She worked as a cook in hotels, restaurants and cafes in the area for many years. She retired in 1968. She was a member of St. Anne's and C.C.W.

Mary Mace, 78, of Redwood Falls, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and will continue 8:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Mace of Morgan; sons, Barry and wife Diana of Crosby-Ironton, Shawn of Redwood Falls, Mahlon and wife Rhonda; grandchildren, Kelly, Shauna, Shannon, Chris, Mary, Mariah, Mackenzie and Marissa; and niece and nephew, Kathy and Mike Townsend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bradley; sister, Anne; and brother James.
Memorials are preferred to Redwood Falls Library, Redwood Falls Hospital, or District 637 Foundation.
She was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Tyler Village, to James E. and Julia (Sullivan) Gilronan. She grew up on a farm in Lake Benton. She graduated from Lake Benton High School and attended Mankato State Teachers College. She married Jay N. Mace on April 10, 1943, in Mankato. During World War II she worked as a lab tech at Camp Walters, Texas. Before moving to Redwood Falls, she lived in Mankato, Windom and Belview. She worked in the lab at Redwood Falls Hospital. In Aug. 1966, she began working at Redwood Falls Clinic, became the lab technician and earned her MLT degree. She retired in 1992. After retirement she volunteered at Redwood Falls Hospital, Redwood Area Schools and Redwood Falls Library. She was a member of the Belview Auxiliary and was a Gold Star Mother.

Edna Kirtz, 86, of Hector, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector, with burial in St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, and will continue for one hour before the service Friday at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Dormand Kirtz of Hector; children, Sandra Kirtz-Bartels and her husband Louie of Murrieta, Calif., James Kirtz and his wife Katie of Winthrop, Judith O'Binger and her husband John of Seattle, Wash., Steven Kirtz and his wife Barb of Olivia, Kathleen Weller and her husband Ed of Barnum, Charles Kirtz of Hector, and Nancy Serbus and her husband Dean of Phoenix, Ariz.; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Ewer of Hector, and Florence Augeson and her husband Harold of Hector, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Raymond Fredrick, four brothers, and one sister.
Edna Katherine Kirtz was born Sept. 6, 1913, in Martinsburg Township, Renville County, to Louis and Wilhelmina (Meyer) Ruschmeyer. She grew up in Martinsburg Township and attended rural school. On June 30, 1943, she married Dormand Kirtz at St. John's Catholic Parsonage in Hector, The couple lived in the Hector area and farmed until 1962. They then moved into Hector. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran, Church and was active in the Lydia Circle. She was an adult leader in the Hectorville Hustlers 4-H Club.

Violet Ahlness, 88, or rural Hanska, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at Luther Memorial Home, Madelia.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Linden Lutheran Church, rural Hanska, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Firle Funeral Home, Hanksa, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Violet Ahlness, 88, of rural Hanska, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000 at Luther Memorial Home, Madelia.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Linden Lutheran Church, rural Hanska, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Firle Funeral Home, Hanska, and will continue one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Loen and Charles Troldahl of Mankato, Arlys and Orris Sletta of Hanska, and Donna and Ralph Hagert of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alpha Thordson; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 1982; brother, Leonard Lemke; and sisters, Helen Jensen, Esther Brown.
She was born Dec. 1, 1911, in New Ulm, to William and Anna (Meyer) Lemke. She grew up in New Ulm and attended St. Paul's Lutheran School. She married Richard Ahlness on Oct. 16, 1928, in New Ulm. They farmed in Linden Township. She became a nursing home resident in October 1998.

Loy Trowbridge, 91, of St. James, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, St. James.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James.

Goldie Leske, 95, of Buffalo Lake, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake.
Visitation is one hour prior to the time of service at the church.
Arrangements were handled by with Hughes Funeral Horne, Hector.

Ada Kilmer, 88, of Madelia, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Madelia Community Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Madelia United Methodist Church, with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Louis A. Renner, 90, died Jan. 26, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Springfield, with burial in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-9 a.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, and at the church Monday one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth and wife Sharon Renner of Springfield; daughter, Judith and husband Jim Sizer of St. James; stepchildren, Marvin Fennern of St. Paul, Elaine and husband Derald Edwards of New London and Marlene and husband Wallace Hansen of New London; many grandchildren; and step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lena in 1977; wife, Aurelia in 1995; brother, Emil; and sister, Mathilda.
He was born on Feb. 3, 1909, in Prairieville Township, Brown County, to Carl M. and Lydia (Jeske) Renner. He moved with his family to Brookville Township in Redwood County where they lived until 1951. He married Lena Martha Schultz on Sept. 19, 1934, in Bowdon, N.D. They moved to North Star Township in Brown County where they farmed until he retired in 1973. He moved to Springfield in 1976. Lena preceded him in death in 1977. On Jan. 31, 1987, he married Aurelia Fennern at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he was a church council member and a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood Group. He also served on the District 34 School Board in Redwood County.

Lawrence 'Larry' Robinson, 69, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Arlington Municipal Hospital, Arlington.
There will be a private family service.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria of Green Isle; sons and daughters, Dan, Peggy and Teresa Robinson and Linda Hoehn of Mankato, Bruce of Marshall and Brad of Green Isle; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Marissa; mother, Marcella Robinson of Vernon Center; brother, Dale Strand of Florida; sisters, Delores McCarthy of Arizona and Goldie Tettam of Vernon Center.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Robinson.
He was born Sept. 6, 1930, in LeSueur, to Norman and Marcella (Decko) Robinson. He married Gloria Bullert on June 25, 1966. He had his own country music band.

Walter Zachow, 83, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at the Glencoe Area Health Center.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at the Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord and one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his wife Bernice of Gaylord; sons and daughters-in-law Allan and Donna of Gaylord, Dennis and Nita of North Augusta, S.C. Ronald and Sandra of Winthrop, Walt Jr. of Harlem, Ga., Gene and special friend Annie of Duluth; daughters and sons-in-law Linda of Gaylord, Lois and Orv Grund of Watertown, S.D., Sarah and Ron Kirsch of Gaylord, Arlene and Mark Kuphal of Gaylord; 13 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter in infancy; brother, Willmar Zachow.
He was June 13, 1916 to Albert and Louisa (Sylvester) Zachow in Gaylord. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School. On March 31, 1936, he married Bernice Franke at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley Township, rural Gaylord. After their marriage they lived and farmed in the Gaylord area for 26 years. They moved into Gaylord in 1962 when he worked for Poquette Chevrolet until his retirement in 1981. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a former member of the Gaylord Baseball Association. He helped organize and manage the annual Farmer-City Slicker Baseball Game in Gaylord.
