Jeffrey N. Larsen, 53, of Dodge Center, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Hwy. 14 west of Dodge Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, Dodge Center, with burial and full military honors by the Dodge Center American Legion Post in Riverside Cemetery, Dodge Center.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and will continue one hour prior to services Tuesday.
He is survived by his wife Judy; sons Michael and Daniel of Dodge Center; a daughter Amanda Davis of Glencoe; brothers, Jay of Brookings, S.D., Jon of Armstrong, Iowa and Steven of Minneapolis; and a sister Janice Wiederhoeft of Truman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was born May 19, 1946 in Madelia to Loyal and Marilyn (Montgomery) Larsen. He married Judy Weise on Feb. 6, 1971 in New Ulm. He lived in Madelia until 1980, when he moved to Dodge Center. He worked as a grain merchandiser for Cargill Inc. of Minneapolis for 19 years, as well as several elevators in the region. He recently worked for McNeilus Steel, Dodge Center. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Dodge County Country Club.

Jonathan Lecy, 22, of Echo, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Weiner Memorial Hospital, Marshall, as a result of a snowmobile accident.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Rock Valle Lutheran Church, rural Echo, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home, Echo, and will continue Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m.today at the funeral home.
He is survived by his parents, Harlan and Linda Lecy of rural Echo; paternal grandmother Hildora Lecy of rural Echo; sister, Diane Lecy of Bertha; brothers, Dale and fiance Jenifer Forrey of Zimmerman and Charles and fiance Amanda Velde of Hanley Falls; and niece Hannah.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Ada Kottom; stepgrandfather Albert VonSpreecken; and paternal grandfather Noral Lecy.
He was born March 25, 1977, in Granite Falls, to Harlan and Linda (Kottom) Lecy. He grew up on the family farm in Sioux Agency Township, north of Echo. He attended school in Echo, Woodlake, Clarkfield and Granite Falls, graduating from Granite Falls High School in 1996. He attended Granite Falls Vo Tech. He had worked for Dunnick Construction, Gilby's in Granite Falls, Mel's Sports Shop in Spicer and at Radio Shack in Redwood Falls. He was a member of Rock Valley Lutheran Church.

Cecilia Gannon, 91, of Sleepy Eye died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2000, in Sleepy Eye.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 7:30-9:30 a.m. to day at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
She is survived by her children, Thomas and wife Eileen Gannon of Duluth, and Clarice and husband Bart Christenson of Woodbury; granddaughters, Jeanne Gannon of St. Paul, Kimberly and husband Todd Blouin, and Megan Christenson, all of Fort Worth, Texas; and sister-in-law, Virginia Booye of Seattle, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George in 1985; brother, Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Mich; sisters, Marie Mich, Dorothy Diekhoff, Mary Mich and Emily Mich.
She was born May 16, 1908, in the Rochester area to John and Dora (Schmelzer) Mich. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Rollingstone and from the College of Saint Teresa in Winona. She taught science and mathematics at St. Mary's High School in Sleepy Eye. She married George Gannon on Aug. 24, 1937, in Simpson. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers Society, Divine Providence Home Auxiliary and Council of Catholic Women.

Elmer Perrier, 91, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at the Lake Region Hospital, Fergus Falls.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with burial in the Mount Hope Cemetery, St. James.
Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m today and 7:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home. Visitation will also continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by daughter, Audrey and Ray Brey of Eagen, sons, Theodore and Jean of Burnsville and Robert and Nancy of Fergus Falls; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers, Theodore, Rowland, Raymond; and infant sister Mary.
He was born Feb. 20, 1908, in Chisholm to Alphonse Eli and Mary (Beauclair) Perrier. He attended two years at St. Thomas and three years at the University of Minnesota Law School where he received his law degree. In 1931 he was admitted to the bar and began his career as an attorney. He started private practice in St. James which he ran for 46 years. He married Selma M. Appel on Oct. 7, 1933, in Estherville, Iowa. He served as Watonwan County Attorney for 11 years, until he was drafted into the Navy during World War II where he served as a radar operator for over 13 months. He returned to practice law. He also served as a president of the local Rotary Club, commander of the American Legion Post No. 33, member of the American Legion, president of the 6th District Bar Association, St. James Commercial Club, and the Watonwan Game and Fish Club. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

James R. Tasler, 56, of 1315 N. Broadway, in New Ulm and formerly of Osseo, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo with burial in the Rushcreek Cemetery in Maple Grove.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home of New Ulm is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Tasler of New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Shellie and Andy Gebhard of Minneapolis; sons, Brian Tasler of Minneapolis, Aaron Tasler and his fiancee, Jae Johnson both of St. Paul; Joni Eilers of Edina; granddaughter, Ali Tasler of Edina; sister and brother-in-law, Lucy and Douglas Frank of Emmetsburg, Iowa; brother-in-law, Frank Hughs of Anoka; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Virginia Loren of Grandy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ivy Tasler; and sister, Judy Hughs.
He was born Aug. 16, 1943, in Minneapolis, to John and Ivy (Evans) Tasler. He graduated from the Osseo High School in 1961. He married Roxanne Loren on April 23, 1966 in Anoka. They lived in Osseo for five years and then lived in Hanover for four years. In 1976 they moved to Pocahontas, Iowa, where they owned and operated the Big Red Restaurant and the Chief Motel for more than 15 years. They moved to New Ulm in 1993 when they bought the Colonial Inn.

Louisa A. Mathiowetz, 95, of Leavenworth, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Divine Providence Community Home, Sleepy Eye.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Church of the Japanese Martyrs, Leavenworth, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. There will be a Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home today.
She is survived by her children, Roman of St. Paul, Rosemary and husband James Rathman of Comfrey, Rita and husband Patrick Morgan of Elmore, and Reinhold and wife Connie of Marshall; daughters-in-law, Mary Lou Mathiowetz of Leavenworth and Alma Mathiowetz of New Ulm; 25 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Martin in 1967; sons, Rudolph in 1955 and Richard in 1999; grandchildren, Leon, Jeremy and Ann; and brothers and sisters, Anthony Moldan, Lawrence Moldan, Engelbert Moldan, Catherine Goblirsch, Clara Windschitl, Ida Mathiowetz, Anna Windschitl and John Moldan.
She was born Dec. 21, 1904, in Mulligan Township, Brown County, to John and Louisa (Biel) Moldan. She attended Mulligan Township School and St. Mary's School, Sleepy Eye. After graduation, she worked on the family farm. She married Martin Mathiowetz on Jan. 29, 1934, in Sleepy Eye. They lived in Leavenworth, where they operated several businesses, including a gas station, tavern and saw mill. She was co-founder of Mathiowetz Construction Co. and worked as secretary and bookkeeper until the 1960s. She lived in Leavenworth until 1988, when she moved to Divine Providence. She was a member of the Church of the Japanese Martyrs and the Christian Mothers.

Sylvester A. Menk, 82, of Mankato, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000 at Mankato House Health Care Facility.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Westbrook.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Almlie Funeral Home, Westbrook and one hour before services at the church, Burial is at Sanborn Cemetery.
He is survived by son, Roger and wife Jacque of North Mankato; brothers, Orlando Menk of Canby, James and wife Ermalee Menk of Bella Vista, Ark.; grandchildren, Rhonda and husband Jim Melby of Minnetonka, Brad Menk of Mankato, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and brother and sister-in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one infant brother, one brother and two sisters.
He was born Oct. 21, 1917, in Lamberton, Redwood County, to Arthur John and Rose Dora (Wills) Menk. He attended school in Lamberton and Sanborn. On Oct. 21, 1936, he married Irene L. Menk at Sanborn. They moved to Currie, where he owned a shoe and harness repair shop and later added a hardware store. In 1958 they moved to Westbrook and operated a hardware store, shoe repair and upholstery shop. While in Currie and Westbrook, he served as mayor and city councilor. He was director of the Westbrook Light Plan. In 1993 they moved to North Mankato Koeppen Gardens and lived there until August of 1997 when Irene became ill and they moved to Mankato House Health Care Facility. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Westbrook.

Remington Bergum, infant son of Jenny Shafer and Andrew Bergum of Buffalo Lake, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000.
Services are 3:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bird Island, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at Hughes Funeral Home, Hector, with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Frances Hale, 111, of Sleepy Eye, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Divine Providence Home, Sleepy Eye.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Divine Providence Home, with burial in Three Rivers, Mich., at a later date.
Visitation is one half hour prior to services at Divine Providence.
Firle Funeral Home, New Home, is handling arrangements.
She is survived by her daughter, May Ann Kotz of Three Rivers, Mich.; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers; one sister; and son-in-law Donald Kotz.
She was born Aug. 21, 1888, in Sleepy Eye, to William and Anna (Bratschner) Steinke. She married Alvin Hale on March 10, 1913, in Portland, Ore. They moved to Minneapolis, where she was an accompanying pianist with J. Jellison Studios in the 1940s and 1950s. She taught piano lessons in her home. Following her husband's death in 1955 she moved to an assisted living facility in St. Paul, and later returned to Sleepy Eye to live near her brother in Divine Providence.

Bernard 'Ben' J. Braulick, 98, of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000 at Divine Providence Community Home, Sleepy Eye.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. There will be a Catholic Aid rosary at 5 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He is survived by daughter Bernice and husband Norbert Sturm of Springfield; sons, Ervin of Sleepy Eye and Ben and wife Shirley of Sleepy Eye; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ida; brothers, Frank, Joseph, Clement, Anton, Leo and Philip; sisters, Mary, Therese, Anna and Martha; daughter-in-law Rita; and great-granddaughter Tiffini Sturm.
He was born Sept. 6, 1901 in Stark Township, Brown County, to Frank and Anna (Pelzel) Braulick. He married Ida M. Neidecker on June 20, 1923 in New Ulm. The couple made their home in Stark Township, where they farmed for 34 years until 1957, when they moved to Sleepy Eye. Ben worked for Martinka Hardware, Del Monte, Berg Barn Equipment and Sleepy Eye Golf Course. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, and the Catholic Aid Association. He served on the Dist. 45 school board and the Stark Creamery board.

Agnes E. Trapp, 91, of Sanborn, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000 at Valley View Manor, Lamberton.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, Sanborn, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 12:30-1:30 p.m. Monday at the church.
Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her brother Ernest and wife Alvina Trapp of Sanborn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ella and Alice; and brothers, Ben, Walt and Dick.
She was born April 12, 1908 on the Trapp homestead in Charlestown Township, Redwood County, to William and Augusta (Holznagel) Trapp. In 1923, she moved with her father to Sanborn where she attended Zion Lutheran School. Before her father died in 1926, her mother came to town. She remained in the same house until 1995, when she moved to Valley View Manor. In the 1950s she owned a craft and quilting store in Sanborn, named Sanborn Variety Store. She had worked in Minneapolis, at Robbies Poultry Station, Sanborn, and at Springfield Community Hospital. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sanborn and the American Legion Auxiliary.
