Mary Dammann, 96, of Springfield, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Springfield, with burial in Sanborn City Cemetery, Sanborn.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield.
She is survived by children, Stanley and wife Marcella of Lamberton, Gerald of Sanborn, Elden and wife Elna of Sanborn, Ardell and husband Colbert Bassett of Rushmore, and Melva and husband Albert Ochs of Faribault; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; grandson, Bryan; and brothers and sisters, Edward Radtke, Herman Radtke, Otto Radtke, Ida Werner, Fred Radtke, Lena Eliason, Albert Radtke, Lillian Wolfe, Gertrude Dammann, Louis Radtke, Amanda Kuck, Clarence Radtke, and Florence Flaig.
She was born April 2, 1903, in Germantown Township, Cottonwood County, to Edward and Agusta (Wendt) Radtke. She attended country school. She married Herman "Shorty" Dammann on Sept. 1, 1921, in Windom. They farmed in rural Sanborn until moving to Springfield in 1962. She was a former member of United Methodist Church, Springfield. She moved to St. John Lutheran Home in 1995.

Elna C. Radke, 81, of Gaylord, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mountville, rural Gaylord.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord, and an hour before services at the church. There will be a prayer service 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Joleen Martini, 73, formerly of New Ulm, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at First Christian Church Residence in Minneapolis.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is 9 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Scott Grueble of Burnsville; granddaughters, Laura and Katie Grueble of Burnsville; brother-in-law, Don Hopke of Faribault; niece, Cheri Kirchberg of Savage; nephew, Mark Hopke of Rochester; great-nephew, Kip Kirchberg of Savage; and cousins, Alice Dodds of Windom, and Merle Fritsche of New Ulm
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fabian Martini in 1991; and a sister, Beryl Hopke.
She was born Nov. 16, 1926, in New Ulm to Eugene and Joyce (Alwin) Siebenbrunner. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1944. She attended college, studying to be a medical secretary. She married Fabian Martini in 1955 in New Ulm. They lived in the Bloomington area.

Elna C. Radke, 81, of Gaylord, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mountville, rural Gaylord.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord, and one hour before services at the church. There will be a prayer service 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, George; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and James Bloemke of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Susan of Winthrop; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Irene, Struck; and brother, Garhart Dallmann.
She was born May 16, 1918 in Courtland Township, Nicollet County, to Henry and Wilhelmine (Poehler) Dallmann. She married George Radke on Feb. 28, 1940, in Nicollet. She attended rural school near Nicollet. They farmed near Vernon Center, Lake Crystal and Winthrop. In 1947, they bought a farm near Mountville, rural Gaylord. In 1976, they retired and moved to Gaylord. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Mountville, and served with the Martha circle. She had been a resident of Arlington Good Samaritan Center since March 1998.

Sister Hilary Hacker, 79, a Franciscan Sister of the congregation of Our Lady of Lourdes, Rochester, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000 at Assisi Heights, Rochester.
Services were held at Assisi Heights.
She is survived by her Franciscan community; brother, Joseph Hacker of St. Paul; and sisters, Sister Hilary Hacker and Sister Marie Hacker, both of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Bishop Hilary and Emil Jr.
Phyllis Hacker was born March 5, 1920, in New Ulm, to Emil and Sophia Hacker. She entered the Franciscan Congregation at Holy Trinity Cathedral, New Ulm, and professed vows in August 1947. She began her ministry as an instructor at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester. After further education at Marquette University, Milwaukee, and St. Louis University and an internship at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, she served as administrator of Mercy Hospital, Portsmouth, Ohio, and was later associate administrator. In 1989, she was named assistant vice president of Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth. She retired to Assisi Heights in 1993.

Minnie (Min) Christilaw, 94, of Brooklyn Center and formerly of New Ulm, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
She was buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
She is survived by daughters, Mary and husband Gene Logan of Brooklyn Center, Patricia Shanklin of Overland Park, Kan. and Frances and husband Bill Powell of Menomonie, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; sister, Eleanor; and brothers, George and Alfred.
She was born Feb. 27, 1905, to John and Ida (Bender) Gewerth. She was raised in New Ulm and graduated from high school in 1923. She graduated from the Collegiate Business Institute of Minneapolis in 1924 and then worked at the Eagle Roller Mill in New Ulm from 1924-1935. She belonged to the Junior Pioneers, Brown County Historical Society and Congregational Church. She married George M. Christilaw on May 30, 1935. They lived in Askov for one year and in Duluth for almost 10 years. In 1946, she and her husband moved to Owatonna. She worked as an executive secretary at Josten's for 13 years. She moved to Alterra Assisted Living in Brooklyn Park in 1994. She was a member of Eastern Star.

Dale Frederiksen, 65, of Clements, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Springfield Medical Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Morgan, with burial in the city cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his children, Brad and wife Laurie of Minneapolis, Cynthia Gardner and husband Jim of Shorewood, Holli DeShane and husband Don of Suisun, Calif., Collene Landgren and husband Lester of Pipestone, Julie Baker and husband David of Lakeville, Chris and wife Beth of Eagan, Karen Schulz and husband Tim of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Eric of Burnsville; 12 grandchildren; sister, Janice Schultz and husband Russell of Alexandria; brothers, David and wife Eleanor of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Duane and wife Sandy of Maple Grove; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Johnny.
He was born April 24, 1934, in Brookville Township, Redwood County, to Richard and Hazel (Gilland) Frederiksen. He attended country school and graduated from Morgan High School in 1952. He farmed near Dawson and later in the Clements area . He served as treasurer and in other offices at St. John Lutheran Church, Morgan.

Verne Haynes, 68, of Madelia, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Madelia Community Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia with burial at Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m today at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Erva; sons, Gene and wife Annette of Hanska, Brad and wife Amy, and Jim and wife Sommer, all of Madelia; daughters, Lori Miller of Madelia, Julie Hannan and husband Kevin of Louisville, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Lavonne Sartorius of Rapid City, S.D., Lois Hultgren and husband Harland of St. James, Karen Hayes and husband Andre of Las Vegas, Nev., and Glenice Henderson and husband Ronn of Bella Vista, Ark; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Pine City to Harry and Emma (Karas) Haynes. He grew up in the Comfrey area and attended school there. He married Erva Mickelson on March 15, 1953, in Comfrey. They lived in Madelia where he worked as a self-employed trucker and later formed Haynes and Sons Trucking, Inc. He retired in 1999. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Otto 'Scotty' Koch, 64, of rural Hanska, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at his home.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church in rural Hanska with burial at a later date.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church.
Firle Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Otto "Scotty" Koch, 64, rural Hanska, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church with burial will be held at a later date.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church. Firle Funeral Home of Hanska is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Debra of Hanska; son, Mark Wierschke and his wife Mona of Chico, Calif.; brothers, Charles and his wife Mary Koch of New Ulm, Bill and his wife Pat Koch of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters, Clarice Blaido of Cottage Grove, Rose Goodman of Cleveland, Ohio, Janice Dillig and her husband Ron of Milwaukee, Wis., Karen Schultz of Watertown, Wis; mother-in-law, Delores Bentdahl of Hanska; brother-in-law, Marlow Bentdahl and his wife Sue of Sheboygan, Wis.; sisters-in-law, Deanna Mohr and her husband Pat of Hanska, Sherraye Lindstrom and her husband Dave of Bloomington, Bonnie Gasper and her husband Tom of Eden Prairie, Liz Stahl and her husband Tim of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marlene Rose and Muriel Luepke; father-in-law, Orlando Bentdahl; and brother-in-law,Robert Schultz.
He was born Dec. 9, 1935, in New Ulm to Otto and Norma (Craven) Koch, Sr. He attended Catholic schools in New Ulm. He entered the United States Army in 1954. While in the military, he received his GED. Following his discharge in 1957. He traveled the country and worldwide as a rodeo clown/bull fighter. He married Debra Bentdahl on Jan. 10, 1981, in Cleveland. They lived in Elysian and Faribault, before moving to Lake Hanska Township in 1986. In 1983, he obtained a degree in computer programming from Mankato Technical College. He was also a master plumber and did carpentry work. He was a member of Lake Hanska Lutheran Church. He was member and honorary member of the New Ulm Battery and the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association. He coached Hanska youth T-ball. He a Santa"s Helper for many years.

Evelyn Bode, 85, of 314 N. Highland Ave., in New Ulm and formerly of Courtland, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000 at New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Services will be 11a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Courtland Township, Nicollet County, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. today at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Galen and Sharon Bode of rural Sleepy Eye, Gary and Karen Bode of rural Courtland, and Lynn Bode of rural Nicollet; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Marlys and Alvin Anderson of Hanska; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Dallmann of Nicollet, and Lila Bode, a resident of the Grandview Good Samaritan Care Center in St. Peter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Bode on Sept. 13, 1996.
She was born May 26, 1914 in Milford Township, Brown County, to Ernest and Alma (Kness) Rolloff. She attended country school. She married Louis Bode on May 3, 1937, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. They farmed in Nicollet Township for two years, in Milford Township, Brown County for three years, and then moved back to farm in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County, until retiring in 1977. They moved into New Ulm in 1978. She bowled for the Senior Citizen Club. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland, and a member of the Dorcas Society.

Ruth W. Feine, 81, of Buffalo Lake, formerly of Hector, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Centex.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector with burial in the Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at St, Paul's Lutheran Church.
Funeral arrangements are handled by Hughes Funeral Home.
She was born on July 14, 1918 to Sigurd and Gusta (Knutson) Jaastad in Rushford. She graduated from Rushford High School and continued her education at the Winona State Teachers College. On Sept. 14, 1941, she married John Feine in Bovey, Minnesota. While her husband was in the military during World War II, she lived in Rushford, When he returned from the service they lived in Hart and later Red Lake Falls where John operated a creamery and Ruth did the bookkeeping. In 1948, they moved to Hector, where they purchased and operated the Hector Dairy until the early 1960s. They went into partnership as R & J DX, and Ruth went to work for the telephone company in 1963 and worked there until her retirement in 1980.
She was a member of the St Paul's Lutheran Church, and had been active in the Circle and in the quilting groups. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen and Lowell Kirgiss of Garfield, Ark., Judi and Lyle Olson of Duluth; grandchildren, Teig Olson and Krista Olson; brother, Karrol Jaastad of Rushford; sister: Sygne Adams of Alexandria, Va. ; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; one daughter in birth; brothers, Norman and Axal Jaastad; and her sister, Margaret Jaastad.
