Marvin H. Schroeder, 86, of Winthrop, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Arlington Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel in Mankato with burial in the Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and continues one hour before services.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary "Mary"; daughter and son-in-law, Marvis and Ken Waterbury of Mankato; daughter-in-law, Eunice Schroeder of Montevideo; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, James, Timothy, Robert and Steven; brothers, Allen and Earl; and one sister-in-law, Helen.
He was born on Jan. 3, 1914, to Edward and Louise (Ulrich) Schroeder in Niagara, Wis. His family later moved to the Minneapolis area. He attended Woodlake High School. He opened the V. & M. Grill in Mankato, when he was 22. In 1959 he married Rosemary LaVonn (Leifermann) in Montevideo. They owned and operated the Highway Cafe and Drive-Inn in Montevideo and the Country Drive-Inn in Winthrop. He retired in 1974. He was a former Montevideo Chamber of Commerce President and a member of the Lions Club. He belonged to golf clubs in Montevideo and Winthrop.

Ottilie 'Tillie' Meffert, 86, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran in Arlington with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington and continues one hour before services at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin Meffert of Arlington; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Bill Meline of Minnetonka, son, Walter Meffert of San Martin, Calif.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death her parents; five brothers; two sisters; and nieces and nephews.
She was born Nov. 2, 1913, in Dryden Township, rural Arlington, to Edward and Emma (Vieregge) Pomplum. She married Alvin Meffert on Oct. 8, 1940, in Spring Valley. She was a homemaker and ran a hatchery on the farm. She was active in St. John's Lutheran Church in Arlington Township and St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Arlington. She taught Sunday school at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arlington, belonged to Ladies Aid and sang in the choir. She was a member of AAL. She belonged to a square dance club.

Gordon R. Wisdorf, 86, formerly of Brownton and Springfield,died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Texas Terrace Care Center in St. Louis Park.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Springfield with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Springfield and one hour prior to the service. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and David Bourgerie of Brooklyn Park, Ruth and Mike Jewell of Sycamore, Ill.; sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Joanne Wisdorf of Burnsville, Gordon F. and Shirley Wisdorf of Hope, Alaska; 11 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marian Wisdorf on Oct. 25, 1986; two brothers and two sisters.
He was born Aug. 25, 1913, in Brownton to Henry and Martha (Zieman) Wisdorf. He graduated from the Brownton High School. He married Marian Koehn on April 21, 1946 in Glencoe. They lived in Brownton where he owned Wisdorf Electric Company. In 1962 they moved to Springfield where he was employed as a state electrical inspector until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Springfield and was a past member of the Springfield City Council.

Leroy Briest, 72, of Gaylord, formerly of rural Arlington, died Saturday, March 4, 2000 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sibley Township, rural Gaylord, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his wife Pat; daughters, Denise and husband Cliff Nelson of Stockholm, S.D., and Diane and husband Simeon Okwulchie of Brooklyn Center; sons, Duane (Butch) of Gaylord, Gerald and wife Kim of Hutchinson, and Gene and wife Angie of Arlington; stepdaughters, Linda and husband John Choate of Newport, Mich., Gail and husband Harold Fields of Taylor, Mich., Melody and husband Bill Austin of Monroe, Mich., and Chris and husband Larry Gambino of Flat Rock, Mich.; stepsons, Mike and wife Danna Irwin of Watervalley, Miss., and Paul Irwin of Monroe; 10 grandchildren; 17 stepgrandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; one stepgreat-great-grandchild; brother Reuben and wife Joyce of Seattle; sisters, Marion Olson of Litchfield, and Elizabeth (Betty) Griffin of Pine City; sisters-in-law, Ella Steffer of Arlington, and Carol and husband Dusty Dustman of Paw Paw, Mich.; brother-in-law August and wife Bernice Miller of South Haven; mother-in-law Ruby Flynn of Wyandotte, Mich.; former mother-in-law Cecilia Miller of hamburg; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife Verna.
He was born May 19, 1927 in Kelso Township, Sibley County, to Ernest and Elizabeth (Schnackberg) Briest. He attended rural school in Sibley Township and graduated from Gaylord High School in 1945. He married Verna Miller on June 24, 1951 in Green Isle. She died in 1987. He married Pat Flynn on Aug. 18, 1990 in rural Gaylord. He lived and farmed in Kelso Township until 1985 when he retired to Gaylord. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was active in the choir, on the cemetery board, as groundskeeper, usher and member of the church council. He was a member of Farmers Union, NFO, Gaylord Co-Op Board and Gaylord Creamery Board.

Anthony Wog, 80, of Lamberton, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at New Ulm Medical Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lamberton, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
He is survived by daughters, Marsha and husband Bill Petersen of Lamberton, Charmain and husband Kelvin Bast of Springfield, and Patti and husband Ken Dold of Wanda; son James and wife Nancy of Park Rapids; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Esther; and grandson Jay Petersen.
He was born March 27, 1919, in New Ulm, to John and Mary (Peters) Wog. He attended country school in Charlestown Township, where he farmed until moving to Lamberton in 1975. He married Esther Haas on June 9, 1941 in Springfield. He worked in elevator construction, retiring in 1986. He was a former member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Sanborn, and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lamberton.

Marian J. Sellner, 66, of Sleepy Eye, died Sunday at her home in Sleepy Eye.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
A Christian Mothers rosary will be at 4 p.m and a parish prayer service 6:30 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Sellner of Sleepy Eye; children, Scott and wife Susan Sellner of Jefferson City, Mo., Stephanie and husband Carl Benson of Byron; Sandra and husband Phil Nauman of Spring Valley; and Michael and wife Janice Sellner of New Ulm; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Sliger of California, Virginia Schroeder of Texas, Karen Huettl of North Mankato, Linda Brennan of Eagan, Judy Paulson of Sleepy Eye and Dianne Fischer of Bloomington; two brothers, Roger Klein of Sleepy Eye and Gerald Klein of California; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Klein of Sleepy Eye.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James and Bill.
She was born June 5, 1933, to Otto W. and Dolores (Wagner) Klein in Sleepy Eye. She attended school in Sleepy Eye, where she graduated in 1951 from St. Mary's High School. She attended St. Theresa's College in Winona for one year. Following her dad's death, she returned to Sleepy Eye to help her mother raise her siblings. She married Roger Sellner on Oct. 20, 1953 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. She worked at the Divine Providence Community Home for many years and at the Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital as a secretary for five years. She was a member of St. Mary's, Christian Mothers Society, CCW and Divine Providence Auxiliary.

Dennis Salfer, 56, of Wabasso, died March 5, 2000, at Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park.
Mass of Christian burial is 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Wabasso, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and continues one hour before the service Wednesday at St. Anne's Catholic Church.
Arrangements were handled by Kulow Funeral Home, Echo.
He is survived by wife, Virginia of Wabasso; children, Tammy and husband Jared Boushek of Eagan, Bradley Salfer of Wabasso, Jeffrey Salfer of R.A.F., Mildenhall, England, Rodney Salfer of Wabasso, Ashley Salfer of Wabasso; siblings, LeRoy and wife Mary Jane Salfer of Wabasso, Elaine Schunk of Vesta, Kennth and wife Gladys Salfer of Wabasso, Raymond Salfer of Savage, Delbert Salfer of Lake Lillianm Joleen Bergstrom of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by brother, Marvin; and brothers-in-law, Joseph Schunk and Gerald Bergstrom.
He was born Oct. 29, 1943, in Redwood Falls, to William and Margaret (Schmit) Salfer. He attended St. Anne's School. He married Virginia Goblirsch on Sept. 15, 1973, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Wabasso. They farmed in Vail Township, Redwood County. He served in the National Guard. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Lisa Katherine Seifert Tamura, 41, of Honolulu, Hawaii, died Jan. 19, 2000, of sepsis at Queen's Hospital in Honolulu.
Her ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean, and a memorial service was held Jan. 29. A memorial marker will be placed at the New Ulm Municipal Cemetery in the family plot on Easter weekend.
She is survived by her mother, Carla Fritsche King of Honolulu, sister, Heidi Seifert of Pollack Pines, Calif.; brother, Steve Seifert and three nieces of South Dakota; uncle, Dr. William Fritsche of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and great uncles and great aunts, Dr. Ted and Lois Fritsche, Harley Schneider, and Myra Dempsey, all of New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur (Tony) Seifert, and by her grandparents, Dr. Carl and Florence Fritsche, and Dr. A.V. (Coach) and Lillian Seifert, all of New Ulm.
She was born June 1, 1958, in Union Hospital in New Ulm to Arthur (Tony) and Carla (Fritsche) Seifert. She grew up in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, with frequent visits to New Ulm.

Charles Maas, 47, 412 8th Ave. N,, Sartell, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000 at his home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Celebration Lutheran Church, Sartell with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Sartell.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, Minnesota and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church,
He is survived by his wife, Theresa, of Sartell; daughter, Kelsey Rae Maas, of Sartell; mother, Doris Maas Grinde and her husband, Vernon Grinde of Tracy; brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Madonna Maas of Sartell; and sister and brother-in-law, Becky and James Maas Girard of Maple Grove.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1976, grandparents and an aunt, Amanda Nererm in 1975.
He was born Sept. 22, 1952, in Tracy, to Paul and Doris (Halvorson) Maas. He graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1970 and attended Southwest State University and Brown Institute, graduating in 1973, He married Theresa Jean Wech on June 22, 1990 in St. Mary's Church, Tracy. He owned Maas Financial Associates since 1983. He was a member of Celebration Lutheran Church where he was former president of the church council. He served on the Life Underwriters Board and the board of St. John Nursing Home, Springfield.
Memorials are preferred to Brain Tumor Association, American Cancer Society or Celebration Lutheran Church.

Rose Samuelson, 90, of St. James died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at St. James Health Services Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at West Sveadahl Lutheran Church in rural St. James with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Pease Funeral Home in St. James. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Harold; daughter, Leona Nelson and her husband, Ron of Tucson, Ariz.; son, Delbert, and his wife, Marci of St. James; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Glen Knudson and his wife, Myrtle of Madelia and Russell Knudson and his wife, Betty of Fairmont; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Lowell, Earl and Leslie Knudson.
She was born July 18, 1909, in Albin Township, Brown County, to George and Clara (Samuelson) Knudson. She attended rural school in Brown County. She lived at home and cared for an aunt for several years. She married Harold Samuelson on Aug. 28, 1936, in Oakland, Calif. They farmed in Adrian Township, Watonwan County. In 1984 they retired and moved to St. James. In November 1999, she became a resident of the Pleasant View Nursing Home in St. James. She was an active member of the West Sveadahl Lutheran Church.

Norma G. Hansen, 75, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, formerly of Redwood Falls died on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000. at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with private burial of cremains in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Nelson Funeral Home of Redwood Falls handled arrangements.
She is survived by daughter, Barbara Hansen of Las Cruces, granddaughter, Tosia Kmiec of Tampa, Fla., grand son-in-law, Colin Caspersen of Tampa; sisters, Florence Nelson of Redwood Falls and Lucille McGraw of Litchfield; brother-in-law, Robert McGraw of Litchfield; mother-in-law Leila Kurtz of Redwood Falls; sister-in-law, Lois Armstrong of Topeka, Kanl and two nephews and three nieces.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1924, in Redwood Falls to Frank and Katherine (McPhee) Dornfield. She worked at the Redwood Gazette many years before retiring to Las Cruces. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
