Ray Davis, 92, of Cosmos, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at Cosmos Healthcare Center.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Cosmos, with burial in the Cosmos Community Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Hughes Funeral Home, Cosmos.
He is survived by daughter, Kay Sieg and husband Wilbert of St. James; sons, Richard of Stanley, Wis., Jim and wife Bette of Cosmos, Robert and wife Arlys of Hutchinson, and Gary of Cosmos; daughter-in-law Marlene of Lewisville; 27 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild; and sisters-in-law, Mildred Malady of Windom, and Phyllis Bendnorz of Maplewood.
He was preceded in death by his parents; spouses; son, Donald; one daughter-in-law; one great-granddaughter; and four brothers.
He was born July 12, 1907, in Carrol, Iowa, to Burt and Catherine (Letze) Davis. He married Margaret Malady on Jan. 2, 1933, in Windom. She died March 24, 1979. They farmed at Jeffers and Bingham Lake before moving to Lewisville in 1945, when they operated a Tilney farm. In 1959, they moved to their farm in Cosmos. He married Kate Lietzau on Nov. 26, 1983. She died Sept. 14, 1990.

Melvin Dammen, 84, died Monday, April 3, 2000, at Tracy Nursing Home.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Walnut Grove.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at Jacobsen Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, and will continue at the church one hour prior to services.
He is survived by his wife, Ivadell; sons, Dennis and wife Blanche of Winona, and Dallas and wife Gail of Marshall; six grandchildren; and sister Gladys McGuire of Sanborn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Cora Beatty and Edna Schultz; and brother Ervin.
He was born Sept. 18, 1915, in Ann Township, Cottonwood County, to Gilbert and Betsy (Steen) Dammen. He attended country school. He farmed with his brother and father. He married Ivadell Raveling on June 20, 1938, in Lamberton. The couple farmed south of Revere until 1945 when they moved to Murray County, where they farmed until 1988. He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.

MADELIA -- Donald O. Rice, 90, of Madelia, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at Luther Memorial Home, Madelia.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Madelia, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Madelia.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Grace Warner, 65, died Saturday, April 1, 2000 at Luther Memorial Home, Madelia.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Madelia, with burial in the City Cemetery, Minnesota lake.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle; daughters, Alice Hannegrefs of Dunnell, and Jeanice Possin of Wells; stepson, Gary Warner and wife Julie of South Haven; stepdaughter, Connie Rasmussen and husband Stan of Madelia; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Delores Pofahl of Oregon, Arlene Siglowski of Wells, and Arnetta Beyer of Milwaukee; brothers, Victor Beyer of Minnesota Lake and Bernard Beyer and wife Rita of Glencoe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters Evelyn Becker and Bernadine Possin.
She was born Jan. 30, 1935, in Minnesota Lake, to Alfons and Anne (Schuster) Beyer. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1952. She married Charles C. Possin on April 8, 1953. They lived in the Waldorf area and later moved to the Waseca-New Richland area. She worked for several years at E.F. Johnson Company, Waseca, and later at Herters, Waseca. They were later divorced. She married Lyle Warner on May 17, 1980, in New Richland. They farmed in rural Madelia until retiring in 1997. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Madelia.

Kelly Mueller, 26, of Watertown, died Friday, March 31, 2000, at home.
Services are 11 a.m. today at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Watertown, with burial in the city cemetery.
Among the survivors are his parents, Roger and Millie Mueller of Watertown; and his aunt Marilyn and husband Arlon Schmid of New Ulm.
He was born May 13, 1973 in Mankato.

Charles R. 'Chuck' Heldberg, 56, of 20925 Pine Apple Lane in rural New Ulm, died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at his home.
Services are noon Thursday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the North Star EUB Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and continues one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Thursday.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Heldberg of rural New Ulm; mother-in-law, Martha Fonken of New Ulm; brothers and sisters-in-law, Quentin and Mildred Heldberg, Kermit Heldberg, Daryl and Marva Heldberg, and William Heldberg, all of LeSueur; and by aunts; uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Lucille Heldberg; and father-in-law, Louis Fonken.
He was born on March 17, 1944, in St. Peter to Walter and Alma (Papke) Heldberg. He graduated from LeSueur High School in 1962 and attended Mankato Commercial College studying accounting. In 1964 he moved to Menomonie, Wis. and lived there for two years. While in Wisconsin he enlisted in the National Guard and served on active duty for six months. He transferred to the Minnesota National Guard in 1966 when he moved to New Ulm. He was employed at Kraft in New Ulm for two years. He started to work full time with the National Guard as a supply sergeant in June 1967. He retired from the National Guard as Chief Warrant Officer 3 in 1992. On Oct. 3, 1978 he married Joan Fonken at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm and served as an usher for eight years. He was a member of Turner Hall and a 20-year member of the Seifert-Bianchi American Legion Post 132 in New Ulm.

Rose M. Fischer, 89, of Sleepy Eye, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-9 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and a combined Christian Mothers and Catholic Aid rosary at 4 p.m., at the funeral home on Thursday.
She is survived by children and their spouses, Agnes and Harold Zwaschka of Comfrey, Harold Fischer of Sleepy Eye, Donald and Carol Fischer of Austin, Tex., Phyllis Nelson of Newhall, Calif., Alfred Fischer and special friend Heather Kiger of Manteno, Ill., 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Henry "Andy" Rothmeier of Sleepy Eye; sister Leona (Mrs. Florian) Helget of Springfield and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred in 1983; parents; brothers, Frank, George and Joseph Rothmeier; and sisters, Anna Neidecker, Mary Helget, Katherine Neidecker and Louisa Helget.
She was born July 24, 1910, to George and Helena (Wurtzberger) in Sigel Township, Brown County. She worked as a farmhand and hired girl for relatives and neighbors. She married Alfred A. "Fritz" Fischer on Oct. 1, 1935 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They lived in Albin Township until 1972, when they retired and moved to Sleepy Eye. As an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, she worked with the altar committee, served as an officer and was member of St. Mary's Guild, Christian Mothers, Catholic Aid Association and Divine Providence Auxiliary. She mended clothing for the missions and volunteered at the community clothing bank. She received the Community Service Award in 1985 from the Catholic Aid Association. She worked for Leona Helget's Catering Service. She volunteered at Nex-tu-nu and helped her daughter Phyllis at Clos-n-Stuf' in Sleepy Eye.

Jack Baker, 54, of Redwood Falls died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, at Nelson Funeral Home of Redwood Falls.
Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He is survived by stepfather, Lloyd Wilkerson of Springfield, daughters, Jackie and Karla, five grandchildren; brothers, Arnold Baker and wife Sandra of Redwood Falls, Danny Baker and James (Jaye) Baker of Riverton, Wyo. ; sisters; Sharron Holt and husband Gary of Riverton, Wyo.; Alice Dallman and husband David of Redwood Falls; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and a special friend Donna Lee Evans of Springfield.
He was born on Aug. 9, 1945, in Ramsey, Minn., to Edward and Betty (Dickerson) Baker. He graduated from Austin High School in 1963. He worked as a professional painter, and his job included painting water towers. In 1971 he moved to Springfield. He moved to Redwood Falls in 1993 where he continued to paint and work construction.

Donald Rice, 90, of Madelia, died, April 2, 2000, at Luther Memorial Home, Madelia.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Madelia with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at the Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia and also one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by daughter, Shirley Lambert and husband Gary of Oakdale; son and wife Donald Jr. and Gloria of Madelia; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister Evelyn Hanneman and husband Hank of Longmont, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his wife; sister, Jessie Heitzig; and brother Charles.
He was born March 2, 1910, in Madelia, to George and Theresa (Schuler) Rice. He graduated from Madelia High School in 1928. He married Elenor A. Munter on Nov. 30, 1933 at Madelia. They farmed in rural Madelia. After Elenora died in April of 1976, he remained on the farm until becoming a resident at the nursing home in 1998 He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Madelia, Madelia Sportsman Club, and former Odd Fellow Lodge of Madelia.

Orlen Meier, 69, died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at Odyssey Healthcare Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls with burial in the Vesta Cemetery.
Arrangements were made with Kulow Funeral Home in Echo.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, and will continue Friday one hour prior to services.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby of Willmar; children and spouses, Deborah and Wayne Arnold of East Bethel, Bruce and Doris Meier of Redwood Falls, and Kimberly and Mike Dehncke of Belview; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson; sisters, Phyllis Kremin of Glenwood, Edna and Robert Mock of Wood Lake; and brother-in-law, Louis Geske of Milroy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Evelyn Geske.
He was born Feb. 26, 1931, in Echo Township, Yellow Medicine County, to Albert and Amanda (Schnackenberg) Meier. He attended rural school and Echo Public School. On July 1, 1951, he married Ruby May Kletscher at St. John's Lutheran Church in Vesta. They couple farmed on the Meier family farm until 1983 before moving to a farm near Redwood Falls. In 1992 they moved to Redwood Falls and then to Willmar. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Vesta and Redwood Falls where he served on the church council. He served on the Wabasso Creamery Board and was a director of A.M.P.I.

Lillian M. Wellner, 91, of Springfield, died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Home.
Services are 11:30 a.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church, Stately Township.
Visitation is 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church.
Sturm Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Ella Severin, 86, of Nicollet died Tuesday, April 4, 2000at the Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and will continue for one hour before the service Friday at the church.
She is survived by her cousins, Harold Heiser of Le Sueur; Raymond Kratzke and his wife, Selma of North Mankato, Arlene Becker and her husband, Ernest of Gaylord, and Violet Fischer and her husband, Edwin of rural Lake Crystal.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Frieda Severin on Dec. 27, 1982.
She was born on Sept. 1, 1913, in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County, to Ernest and Mary (Kratzke) Severin. She helped on the family farm until 1974 when she moved into Nicollet. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet and its ladies guild.
