Harold Schneider, 74, of Manhattan, Kan., formerly of Redwood Falls, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, in Topeka, Kan.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until services.
He is survived by his wife Mary Schneider.
He was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Redwood Falls to William and Bertha (Mell) Schneider. He graduated from Milroy High School in 1944. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1950 magna cum laude and was a member of the Society of Phi Beta Kappa. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950, to 1952 and attained the rank of master sergeant. He served in the Army Reserves until 1956. He attended graduate school at the University of Minnesota in 1952 where he taught as a grad assistant. He married Mary Willis on July 4, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa. He taught English at Kansas State University, retiring as an associate professor in 1990. He was an editor for the Kansas Quarterly. He received the Governor's Arts Award in 1988.
Memorials preferred to Myasthenia Gravis Association, Inc., Research Medical Center, 2300 E. Meyer Boulevard, Kansas City, Mo. 64132.

Jon Hartman, 17, of Wabasso, died Tuesday, April, 25, 2000, in the Redwood Falls Hospital, from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident near Lucan.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Wabasso, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Watertown, S.D.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday and at the church Saturday, one hour prior to the service. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church.
Sunset Funeral Home handled arrangements.
He is survived by his mother, Robbin Christensen, and her husband Nels of Wabasso; grandfather, Merle Hartman of Wabasso; brothers and sisters, Tony, Kip, Bobby, Scott, and Mike, all of Wabasso; an uncle, Don and Anne Hartman of Aberdeen, S.D.; an aunt, Connie Kieso of Watertown, S.D., and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Virginia Hartman.
He was born Monday, Feb. 14, 1983, in Ortonville to Robbin Hartman. He attended grade school in Big Stone City, S.D. and Wabasso, where the family moved in 1992. He worked at South Side Bar and Grill and Wanda Steak and Drink. He was a junior at Wabasso High School.

Otis Honstad, 80, of Lake Crystal, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at Lake Crystal Health Care Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal, with burial with full military honors at Lake Crystal Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m today at Lake Crystal Mortuary, and will continue one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Erma; sons, Leslie and wife Sonja of Edina, Lonnie and special friend Nancy Hanson of Lake Crystal, and Doyle and wife Linda of Chanhassen; seven grandchildren; sisters, Rhoda Thompson, Mabel Johnson, and Marion Odson, all of Albert Lea, Lydia Hellecksen of Lake Crystal, and Gert Murra of Buffalo Center, Iowa; and nieces, nephews, and cousins in Norway.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a sister.
He was born June 25, 1919, in Rake, Iowa, to Lars and Mary (Ranes) Honstad. He graduated from Elmore High School in 1937. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1941-1945. He married Erma Engelby on April 16, 1944, in Amarillo, Texas. He worked as a mechanic in Rake, Iowa, and later moved to Frost, where he operated his own mechanic business. In 1956, they moved to Freeborn, where he worked at Hinkley's Chevrolet. He also worked as a mechanic for the construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway. They moved to Lake Crystal in 1970, where he owned Lakeview Skelly. He also owned and operated Honstad's Sales and Service from 1978 until 1984. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, John Roth American Legion, and was a past president of Lake Crystal Lions Club.

Roy C. Reinke, 86, formerly of New Ulm, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000 at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
Funeral service and burial will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of the arrangements.

Darwin Samuelson, 86, of Two Harbors, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at Lake View Memorial Hospital, Two Harbors.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Monday at United Church, Two Harbors, followed by a service.
Arrangements were handled by Cavallin Funeral Home, Two Harbors.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; daughters, Darla and husband Willard Okeson of Grove City, and Donna and husband Lynn Luchsinger of New Richmond, Wis.; sister, Amaryllis Reeves of Roseville; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deanna Monroe; and granddaughter, Dawn Monroe.
He was born Jan. 29, 1914, in Bernadotte Township, to Levi W. and Alice (Johnson) Samuelson. He grew up on the family farm in Bernadotte Township. He graduated from Winthrop High School in 1931. He farmed after high school. He married Doris Woods in 1938. They moved to Two Harbors in 1966. He operated the Daisy Shop on the North Shore of Lake Superior. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Lafayette Methodist Church, and United Church of Two Harbors.

George Ludewig, 75, of Franklin, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Franklin Health Care Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye and at the church one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Inez of Sleepy Eye; daughter Pamela and husband Don Hirsch of Sleepy Eye; son Jeffrey and wife Nancy Ludewig of Sleepy Eye; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; mother, Pearl Ludewig of Sleepy Eye; brother, Sylvester "Bud" Ludewig of Sleepy Eye; sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene Houghtaling of Carmichael, Calif., Delrose and Wilbert Seifert, Delores and Robert Gulden and Luverna and George Berg, all of New Ulm; and brother-in-law, Robert Berg, Jr., of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his father, Urban; sisters, Marie in infancy and Marion Berg; and brother-in-law, Paul Houghtaling.
He was born Nov. 20, 1924, in Home Township, Brown County, to Urban and Pearl (Mickelson) Ludewig. He attended District 39. He married Inez Evers on Feb. 11, 1947 in Sleepy Eye. The couple farmed in Stark Township for 44 years before moving to Sleepy Eye in 1991. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye.

Ruth Troldahl, 90, of Janesville, died Thursday, April 27, 2000 at Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home, Waseca.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church, Janesville, with burial in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hanska.
Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Homes, Janesville, and will continue Monday one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by sons, Oather and wife Ann of Janesville, and Dayle and wife Harriet of Gaylord; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son Verling; a brother; and a sister.
She was born Oct. 7, 1909 in Lafayette, to Frank and Ruby (Erickson) Peterson. She attended school in New Ulm, graduating in 1928. She worked at Esser's Cafe. She married Oscar C. Troldahl on Nov. 14, 1930 in Lafayette. They lived in Hanska, where she worked as an assistant telephone operator. They moved to Henderson after purchasing the Henderson Independent Newspaper, which they operated until 1956, earning several state and national press association awards. They moved to Janesville in 1956, where they purchased the Janesville Argus, which they published until 1971, when they retired. She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Lutheran Church, Janesville. She was also active in Meals on Wheels, Janesville Neighborhood Birthday Club, the Over 60 Band Spouse Club, Bridge Club, and the Sibley County Historical Society.

Margaret Tauer, 92, of Sleepy Eye, died Thursday, April 27, 2000 at New Ulm Medical Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. There will be a parish prayer service 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She is survived by daughters, Millie and husband Walter Connelly of Rochester, and Josephine and husband Melvin Rose of Sleepy Eye; sons, Donald and wife Peggy of Downey, Calif., and Jerry of Kent, Wash.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Cecilia Kassner of Garrison, N.D.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband George; and brothers.
She was born Sept. 19, 1907 in Rib Lake, Wisc., to John and Margaret (Kraus) Reznicek. As a teenager she moved to New Ulm with her parents. She married George F. Tauer in November 1927 in Sleepy Eye. The couple lived in Sleepy Eye, where she worked at Del Monte and Pietrus Foods. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the CCW.

Dean Henschke, 35, of Bird Island, died Thursday, April 27, 2000 at Renville County Community Residence, Bird Island.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Buffalo Lake, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the church, and will continue one hour prior to services.
Arrangements were handled by Raymond D. Hughes Funeral Home, Hector.
He is survived by his mother Flossie of Buffalo Lake; sisters, Diane Wald and husband Steven of Sedona, Ariz., and Denise Hentges and husband Bill of Andover; nieces, Stephanie Wald of Sedona, and Catherine Hentges of Andover.
He was preceded in death by his father Virgil; grandparents; aunts; uncles; and many other relatives.
He was born Aug. 21, 1964 at Olivia, to Flossie and Virgil Henschke. He graduated from Sauk Centre School in 1985. He lived on a farm in rural Buffalo Lake until 1971, when he moved to Cedarvale Child Care Center, Austin. In 1979, he moved to Dorothy Lake Home, Sauk Centre. In 1986, he moved to Renville County Community residence, Bird Island. he worked at Adult Client Training Services, Olivia.

Ida Herwick, 98, of Bozeman, Mont., formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999 in Bozeman, Mont.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2000 at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery.
She is survived by daughter Gretchen Kleimer of Bozeman; son Bill and wife Jane of Honolulu, Hawaii; brother Fred and wife Esther Zimanski of Hutchinson; sister Minnie Lander of St. Paul; son-in-law Charles Watson of New Brighton; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Emil; daughter Marge; brothers, Leonard and Alfred; and sisters, Pauline and Aluena.
She was born March 29, 1901 in Sleepy Eye, to Louis and Emma Zimanski. She grew up on the family farm and attended school through the eighth grade. She married Emil Herwick on Aug. 11, 1925 in Sleepy Eye. They lived in Sleepy Eye. After Emil died in 1980, she moved to Coupeville, Wash. to be near her son Bill. She moved to Bozeman in 1992 to be near her daughter.
