Felix A. Steffen, 89, of Sleepy Eye died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Divine Providence Home in Sleepy Eye.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 s.m. Tuesday at Divine Providence Chapel in Sleepy Eye with burial in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
Visitation id 9 as.m. until the time of service at the Divine Providence Chapel in Sleepy Eye.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Frances Steffen of Sleepy Eye; and nephews, Paul Steffen and Jerry Steffen; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond Steffen, Joseph Steffen and his wife, Florence; sister, Margaret Steffen; and a nephew, Jim Steffen.
He was born on April 12, 1911, in Sleepy Eye to John A. and Anna (Schieffert) Steffen. He worked as a government grader at Pietrus Foods in Sleepy Eye for 35 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, Catholic Aid Association, and Sleepy Eye Senior Citizens.

Joan L. Hofmann, 47, of Sanborn, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at Methodist Hospital, Rochester.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Wabasso, with burial in Wanda City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8m p.m. Tuesday at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls; and one hour before services Wednesday at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Hofmann, Sanborn; son, Jamie Eischens of Robbinsdale; stepson, Travis Hofmann, Andrews Air Force Base in Washington D.C; sisters, Joyce Werner and husband Roger of Wabasso; Sharon Petersen and husband Darold of Windom; numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Ben and Delphia Eischens and families. S
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister Darlene and two nephews, Todd Templer and Jeremy Larson.
She was born July 30, 1952, at Springfield, to Lloyd and Garnet (Larsen) Struckmann. She grew up in the Wanda and Lamberton areas. She graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1970. In May 1971 she married Richard "Rick" Eischens at Redwood Falls. Due to his military service, they lived abroad, later living in Florida. Their marriage ended in divorce. In the early 1980s, she n returned to Redwood Falls where she was worked at Amoco service, Redwood Falls Gazette, and Edward D. Jones Investments. On Aug. 23, 1986, she married Michael Hofmann at Redwood Falls. They made their home near Sanborn where they farmed. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church of Wabasso.

Magdalen Price, 103, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Wabasso Health Care Center.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. today at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Wabasso.
Visitation continues at the church Monday, one hour prior to the service.
Sunset Funeral Home of Wabasso handled arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Donald and Arlene Price of Arvada, Colo.; Doris and Don Petracek of Belview; William and Mary Price of West St. Paul; Edward and Rita Price of Lamberton; Audrey and Rolland Pistulka of Shakopee; Thomas and Stephanie Price of Olney, Md.; a sister Mrs. Cecilia (Darl) Marben of Lamberton; daughter-in-law, Lanis Price of San Jose, Calif; 56 grandchildren, 105 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jim; daughters, Marjore Ellen and Donna; brother, August Schwengle; and sisters, Theresa Franta, Bertha Schwengle and Leona Price.
She was born April 25, 1897, in Sleepy Eye, to John and Bertha (Krueger) Schwengle. She taught school in District 78 for two years. She married John R. (Bob) Price on Oct. 30, 1919, in Lamberton. They farmed in Waterbury Township until he died on August 6, 1955. She lived on the farm until 1957 when she moved to Wabasso. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary, where she held several offices, Waterbury Township Homemakers and District 78 School Board.

Darrell L. Pederson, 59, of Minneapolis, and formerly of Lamberton, died Friday, April 28, 2000, in Minneapolis.
Services are tentatively set for 3 p.m. Tuesday at Highwater Lutheran Church, rural Lamberton, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
Arrangements are handled by Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton.

Lawrence Ludtke, 81, of Redwood Falls, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at the Redwood Falls Hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial in Larimore, N.D. at 1 p.m. Thursday, with military honors.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today, and continues 8:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls and at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, of Redwood Falls; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Daniel Gingerich of Lebanon, Ohio; son, Spencer of St. Paul; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Peggy Ludtke of Stillwater; seven grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Gutting Olson of Northwood, N.D., brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Frances Stover of Larimore, N.D..
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dwaine and Kenneth; brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Helen Stover.
He was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Bartlett, N.D., to Edward and Charlotte (Reynolds) Ludtke. He graduated from Lakota High School in 1940. He attended North Dakota State University. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in August 1942. He was stationed at Fort Snelling and Fort Hood. He served as a tank destroyer with the 7th Armored Division on the Western Front. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart. He graduated from NDSU in 1948 with a B.S. in agriculture economics. He married Carol Stover on June 25, 1947, in Larimore, N.D. He taught classes in the Veterans Farm Management Program in Lisbon and Larimore, N.D. He started ag departments in Middle River, Minn., in 1953 and Morgan in 1957. He taught at Morgan Public School until 1974, where he was also FFA adviser and area vocational ag instructor. He taught the Veterans Ag Management Program at Sleepy Eye Public School from 1974 to in 1981, when he retired. He entered Wood Dale Home in Redwood Falls in 1997. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Morgan and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. He belonged to the Lions Club and was district governor in 1985-1986. He belonged to the VFW and American Legion.
Memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.

Bennie Hahn, 74, of Gaylord, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at Glencoe Area Health Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Gaylord, with burial in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday at Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord; and at the church Thursday, one hour before the service.
He is survived by his sister, Bertha Hacker of New Auburn; sister-in-law Eleanora Hahn of Gaylord; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Melvin; three siblings in infancy; and brother-in-law, Otto Hacker.
He was born May 23, 1925, in Sibley Township to Albert and Amelia (Ayer) Hahn. He did farm work for Alvin Blaser for 45 years. He also owned his own trucking firm, he hauled gravel and had a milk rout. He retired in 1993. He belonged to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Gaylord.

Esther Sommer, 87, of Winthrop, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at Winthrop Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Winthrop, with burial in the city cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the church, and will continue one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Winthrop, is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by sister-in-law, Hattie Becke of Gaylord; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; and brothers, Louis and Walter Brede.
She was born March 8, 1913, in McLeod County, to Max and Emma (Wagner) Brede. She married Alvin Norman Sommer on Oct. 2, 1936, in New Auburn. They farmed in Transit Township, Sibley County until 1987, when they moved into Winthrop. She was a past member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, New Auburn, and a current member of Zion Lutheran Church, Winthrop.

Ruth G. Dirks: Graveside services are 3 p.m. Saturday in New Ulm City Cemetery for Ruth G. Dirks.
She was born Nov. 18, 1909, in New Ulm to Conrad and Eleonora (Krienke) Dirks. She died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at Good Samaritan Center, Stillwater. Her obituary was published in January.

Darrell Pederson, 59, of Minneapolis, formerly of Lamberton, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis.
Services are 3 p.m. today at Highwater Lutheran Church, Lamberton, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 2-3 p.m. today at the church.
Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton.
He is survived by daughters, Pam and husband Errol Shirer of Chehalis, Wash., Julie and husband Clyde Ediger of Kasson, and Dawn and husband Keith Oslund of Blomkest; sons, Scott of Kent, Wash., Steven and wife Lori Mahr of New London, Michael and wife Melissa of Savage, Rodney and wife Lisa of Elk River, and Christopher of Willmar; brothers, Alvin of Lamberton, Jim and wife Jackie of Plainview, Ken and wife Becky of Willmar, David and wife Nancy of Fairmont, Richard and wife Mary of Blomkest, Roger and wife JoClair of New York Mills, and Phillip of Watertown, S.D.; sisters, Shirley and husband Lloyd Knakmuhs of Lamberton, and Marie and husband Harold Hutchinson of Revere; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was born Aug. 24, 1940, in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County, to Oscar and Anna (Hoffrogge) Pederson. He attended school in Lamberton. He married Karen Unzeitig. He married Connie Hanson on Oct. 22, 1960, in South Dakota. They moved to the Minneapolis area in 1961. He worked for Swedish Hospital, Minneapolis, and drove taxi. In 1969, they moved to New London. He worked for Norling Brothers Silo, Lake Lillian. He later worked for Hanson Silo Company, until returning to Minneapolis.

Merle R. Siegfried, 81, of Redwood Falls, died Monday, May 1, 2000 at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Delhi Presbyterian Church, with burial in the city Cemetery, Redwood Falls.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by daughters, Barbara Burtzel of Lakeville, Jean Feifarek and husband Dennis of Blomkest, Carole Taylor and husband Bob of Seattle, Wash., and Irma Penske of Garden Grove, Calif.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Pearl Huhnerkock and Marcella Sundquist, both of Redwood Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Harold.
He was born Oct. 12, 1918, in Redwood Falls, to John and Emily (Palmer) Siegfried. He attended rural school. He entered the United States Army Air Force on April 18, 1942, and served with the 502nd School Squadron in Lubbock, Texas. He attended the Lubbock Army Flying School and became an aircraft mechanic. He served in France during World War II, and was discharged in 1945. He returned to Redwood Falls, where he worked as a carpenter, and began farming in the Delhi area. He married Leona Pol on Sept. 22, 1952 in Wagner, S.D. He continued farming until his retirement in 1983. He moved to Redwood Falls in the fall of 1999. He was a member of Delhi Presbyterian Church and Belview American Legion. He also served on the Delhi School Board.

Gordon Pikal, 86, of Brownton, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at Hutchinson Community Hospital.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, with burial in Oakland Cemetery, Hutchinson.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Thursday and 8-11 a.m. Friday at Dobratz-Hantge Chapel, Hutchinson, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Fern Kelsey, 94, of Truman, formerly of Madelia, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at Lutheran Retirement Home, Truman.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Madelia, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Madelia.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia.

Aurelia Rieger Plautz, 70, of Marysville, Calif., formerly of New Ulm, died Monday, May 1, 2000 at home.
Services are pending in California.
She is survived by her husband Linus; children, Debra, Gary, Kathy, and David, all of California; brothers, Frank and wife Helen Rieger, and Quentin and wife Audrey Rieger, all of New Ulm, and Ralph and wife Della Rieger of Mankato; and sister-in-law, Mary Healy of New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brenda Plautz; sisters, Florence and Virginia; and brothers-in-law Lawrence Wurmstein and Reynold Manthey.
She was born Sept. 30, 1929, in New Ulm, to Frank and Aurelia (Simmet) Rieger. She attended St. Mary's Grade School, and graduated from New Ulm High School. She married Linus J. Plautz in September 1951 in New Ulm.
