Nick Haspert, 88, of Hector, died Thursday, June 15, 2000 at Buffalo Lake Health Care Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church, Hector, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Hughes Funeral Home, Hector, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
He is survived by his wife Everald; children, Jaylene of Chanhassen and Thomas of Aitkin; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four step- great-grandchildren; brother Joseph and wife Elaine of Buffalo Lake; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Barbara Eckerman and Katherine Brown; and brothers, John and Jacob.
He was born Aug. 21, 1911 in Wamago, Kansas, to Folden and Anna Marie (Schneider) Haspert. He moved to the Buffalo Lake-Hector area in 1930 and farmed with his parents. He was inducted into the Army, where he served during World War II. he was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge and received a purple heart. He returned to the Hector area and started Fairway Construction with Myrle Sing and Howard Musil. he also started the Service Implement Company, Hector. He married Everald A. Sing on June 28, 1938 in Hector. The couple lived in Hector. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Hector, and a 50-year member of the Hector American Legion.

Darlene Severson, 61, of Lamberton, formerly of Walnut Grove and New Ulm, died Friday, June 16, 2000 at Valley View Manor, Lamberton.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton, with burial in Walnut Grove City Cemetery.
Visitation is 8-10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her sister Judy Dallenbach and husband Dennis of Walnut Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilman and Esther Severson.
She was born Nov. 16, 1938 in Tracy, to Hilman and Esther (Frank) Severson. She grew up on a farm near Walnut Grove and attended school in Walnut Grove. After graduating from high school, she sang in a country western band for a few years. She married Darwin Drill and the couple made their home near Walnut Grove. She later moved to New Ulm where she lived for many years. She moved to Lamberton in 1995.

Annie Hagen, 21, of Belview, died Friday, June 16, 2000, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Balaton.
Services are 2 p.m. today at Grace Lutheran Church, Belview, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church Monday, one hour prior to services.
Arrangements are handled by Redwood Valley Funeral Home, Redwood Falls.
She is survived by her parents, Don and Nancy Hagen of Belview; siblings, Nathan of Mankato, Daniel of Belview, and Kelly of Belview; paternal grandmother, Ruth Hagen; and maternal grandfather, Marvin Roxberg.
She was preceded in death by a grandmother, Gertrude Roxberg, grandfather Walter Hagen, and cousin Andrea.
She was born Dec. 7, 1978, in Redwood Falls to Donald and Nancy (Roxberg) Hagen. She graduated from BDRSH High School in 1997. She was attending the University of Minnesota at Morris where she played softball and was a member of Big Friend, Little Friend. She was also working as a personal care assistant, was a 4-H club member and belonged to Grace Lutheran Church.

Clifford Nelson, 93, formerly of North Mankato, died Friday, June 16, 2000, at St. Peter Health Care Center.
Funeral services are private. Landkamer-Johnson-Boman Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the Special Care Unit of the St. Peter Health Care Center.
He is survived by a daughter, Betty Kotthoff of North Mankato; two sons, Duane and Betty of Beloit, Wis. and DeVere and Rosemarie of Leesburg, Fla.; nine grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a granddaughter, a son-in-law, and five sisters.
He was born Feb. 16, 1907 in Hanska to Ever and Ragnild (Grothe) Nelson. He married Josephine Zins May 8, 1929 in Nicollet. He worked on sheet metal construction jobs in Alaska, Greenland, Rochester, and Mankato. He belonged to the Circle 8 Square Dance Club.

Mabel 'Dorothy' Schneller, 90, of New Ulm, formerly of Oakland, Calif., died Saturday, June 17, 2000.
There will be no service.
Memorials are preferred to Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Arrangements were handled through the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
She is survived by her daughter, Marylou Davis of New Ulm; grandchildren, Terri and husband Gerald Eggleston of Cheyenne, Wyo., James and wife Jodi Davis of Mankato, Christine Schneller, John and wife Chrissy Davis of New Ulm, David Davis of New Ulm, Dawn and husband Christopher Muhlbauer of New Ulm, and Kyle Roth of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edmund; son Stephen; three sisters; and one brother.
She was a member and past-president of Daughters of Spanish-American War Veterans.

Augusta Mathilda Wittwer, 94, of Joshua Tree, Calif., formerly of Morgan, died Saturday, June 17, 2000 at home.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Morgan, with burial in Redwood Falls cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m. until time of services at the church Friday.
Nelson Funeral Home, Morgan, is in charge of arrangements.

Myrtle Dudler, 69, formerly of New Ulm, died December 29, 1999 in Denver, Colo.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Swan Lake Lutheran Church, Brighton Township.
She was born Aug. 11, 1930, and grew up on the family farm in Brighton Township. She graduated from New Ulm High School.

Judith Foss, 55, of Redwood Falls, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, in Minneapolis.
Private family services will be held at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls, with burial in Bishop Whipple-St. Corneliss Cemetery in the Lower Sioux Community in Morton.
She is survived by her husband, Homer of Redwood Falls; daughters, Michelle Rice of Minneapolis, Malinda Richards of Redwood Falls, and Madonna Lamb of Minneapolis; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Ernie Peter of California and Sheldon Peter-Wolfchild of Redwood Falls; sisters, JoAnn Hurd of Minneapolis, Arlen Sam of the Lower Sioux Community, and Carol Roper of Wisconsin.
She was born April 6, 1945, in Pipestone to Ernie and Elsie (Campbell) Peters. She grew up in the Lower Sioux Community, married Homer Foss and lived in Redwood Falls.

Betty Sopko, 57, of Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of Madelia, died June 14, 2000, at Glendale Adventist Hospital, Glendale, Calif.
A memorial service will be held at Our Savior's Church in Butternut at a later date.
She is survived by her husband Mike; parents, Ellsworth and Mae Laingen of Madelia; sisters, Ethel Schultz and Caryn McLean of Madelia, and Patricia Jones of Shakopee, and nieces and nephews.
She was born Feb. 23, 1943, in Madelia to Ellsworth and Mae Laingen. She graduated from Madelia High School in 1961. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Butternut. She married Mike Sopko on Aug. 7, 1966, in Butternut. They moved to Los Angeles in 1969 where she did publicity work at Forest Lawn Memorial Park for 31 years.

Augusta Wittwer, 94, of Joshua Tree, Calif., formerly of Morgan, died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at her home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church in Morgan, with burial at Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church Friday, one hour prior to the service. Nelson Funeral Home in Morgan is handling arrangements.
She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Aubrey and Emily of Champlin, Melvin and Dennis of Joshua Tree, Calif., and Warren of Bemidji; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Millie Billmeier of Sleepy Eye, Alvin Kopischke of Redwood Falls, Minnie Billmeier, Gladys Steneroden and Eleanor Tigges, all of Minneapolis, Helen and Verlin Benson of Cosmos, John and Irene Kopischke of Wadena, and Lester and Eileen Kopischke of Bay City, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Alton, a daughter in infancy, six brothers, and one sister.
She was born Aug. 6, 1905, in Morgan to Carl and Anna (Richter) Kopischke. She attended school in Redwood County. She married Lewis Wittwer on March 20, 1927, in Redwood Falls. They farmed in Redwood, Todd, and Pope counties, and moved to Blackduck in 1960. They retired from farming in 1989. She moved to Joshua Tree, Calif., in 1991 to live with her son Dennis. She belonged to St. John Lutheran Church in Morgan.

Charlotte Bartelt, 70, of Redwood Falls, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at Olivia Health Care Center, Olivia.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls. It will be a joint service for her son, Michael Bartelt, who died the same day. Burial is Monday in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Redwood Valley Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and will continue one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Michael 'Bart' Bartelt, 40, of Redwood Falls, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Redwood Valley Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and will continue one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Services for Charlotte, Bartelt, his mother, will be held at the same time and location.

Jay Cunningham, 78, 1523 S. Minnesota St., died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at Lafayette Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at New Ulm City Cemetery.
Firle Funeral Home, New Ulm, is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; son, Keith of San Diego; sister, Joyce Callisto of St. Louis; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by son, Gary.
He was born March 11, 1922, in Two Harbors, where he spent his youth and graduated from high school. He entered the United States Air Force and served in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge in 1945, he returned to Two Harbors. He married Eveline "Peggy" Bomberbeck on Jan. 12, 1946, in St. Paul. They lived in Two Harbors, where he worked for the Dakota Minnesota & Iron Range Railroad as an electrician. They moved to New Ulm in 1963 where he worked for Kraft for 20 years. He retired in 1984. He was a member of the American Legion and a friend of the United Church of Christ.

Steven Schrader, 48, of Crosslake, died Monday, June 19, 2000, at his home.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Brenny Funeral Chapel, Crosslake, with burial in Emily Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
