Ronald H. Peterson, 66, of New Ulm died Thursday, July 6, 2000 at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, with burial in the Lafayette Methodist Cemetery in rural Lafayette.
Visitation will be for one hour prior services on Monday, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Larry Wittsack of Norwood Young America; sons, Bruce Peterson o Glencoe, and Roger Peterson and his special friend Sue White, both of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; four grandchildren; and sisters and rothers-in-law, Eleanore and Myron Nelson of New Ulm, and Verone and Elmer Langhorst of Gaylord.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Harold and Eldon.
He was born July 1, 1934, in New Ulm to Raymond and Esther (nee Johnson) Peterson. He attended District 65 country school in New Sweden Township, Nicollet County. Ronald was the owner and operator of the Ron's Hardware and Lumber in Lafayette and later drove truck for the Farmers Co-op in Lafayette.
He was a past member of the Lafayette Fire and Rescue in Lafayette.

John W. Hoepner, 89, of Longwood, Fla., formerly of Redwood Falls, died Thursday, July 6, 2000 at home.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Village on the Green, Longwood, Fla., with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Gotha, Fla.
Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, Gotha, Fla.
He is survived by son Theodore and wife Barbara of Orlando, Fla.; daughter Judy Tersteeg and husband Glenn of Evergreen, Colo.; grandchildren, Theodore Hoepner of Orlando, Jennifer Hoepner of Atlanta, Ga., Beth Mayer and husband John of Mamaoneck, N.Y., and Tricia Heinly and husband David of Bonsell, Calif; great-grandson Will Mayer of Mamaoneck, N.Y.; and sister Mary Huseby of Seattle, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lenore; and brothers, Walter and Frank.
He was born Aug. 17, 1910 in Iuka, Pratt County, Kansas, to Maude and Frank Hoepner. The family lived on a farm near North Redwood until 1915, when they moved to Elbert, Colo. In 1919, his father bought the Navajo Hotel in Manitou, Colo. He helped his father with a tourist business, driving people to the top of Pike's Peak. He graduated from Manitou High School in 1930. He then took over the livery business, driving a 191 Pierce Arrow on trips to Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, Cave of the Winds, and Pikes Peak. He attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs for one year. He then returned to North Redwood. He then moved to St. Paul, where he worked for Godbouts Funeral Home while attending the University of Minnesota Mortuary School. he received his license in 1934. He continued working for Godbouts Funeral Home and helped M.J. Odlaug in Redwood Falls. He bought the Odlaug Funeral Home in 1936. He married Lenore Gandrud on Sept. 17, 1939. They lived in Redwood Falls, operating the Hoepner Funeral Service in Redwood Falls and Morgan. He retired in 1971. In 1972 they moved to Pompano Beach. Fla. Lenore died in 1995. He moved to Village on the Green in Longwood, Fla. in April 1996. He served as president of Redwood Falls Lions, Redwood Falls Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Golf Club, and the Chamber of Commerce. He served for 13 years on the District 637 School Board. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, serving on the church board, session, trustee and deacon. He served as president of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association from 1959-1960. He also served on the Board of Directors, was on the State Board of Examiners for 11 years and was appointed to the State Board of health, where he served for three years.

Orville G. "Bud" Fischer, 79, of rural Sleepy Eye, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000 at Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in Eden Methodist Cemetery, Eden Township, Brown County.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Nelson Funeral Home, Morgan, and will continue one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
He is survived by his wife OraDell; sons, Grant and wife Karen of Atwater, and Robert and wife Marie of Morgan; grandchildren, Andrew, Anna, Amy, Diana and Adam; and foster grandchild Laura Angell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Eve.
He was born Sept. 11, 1920 in Sleepy Eye, to Henry and Minnie (Metag) Fischer. He grew up in Eden Township, where he attended rural school in District 189. He married OraDell M. Krebs on Oct. 7, 1946 in Springfield. They lived and farmed in Eden Township, retiring in 1976, remaining on the farm.

Arlyn Richard Shemon, 43, of Green Valley, died Thursday, July 6, 2000 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Clotilde Catholic Church, Green Valley, with burial in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Cemetery, Green Valley.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the church, with a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Redwood Valley Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, was in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife Colette; children, Levi, Codi and Ciji; parents, Eugene and Beatrice Shemon of Lucan; and brothers, sisters and their spouses, Gary and Nancy Shemon of Ely, Jim and Bonnie Shemon of Spicer, Dorene and David Mosher of Milton, Vt., Janell and Rod Block of New Ulm, Ron and Barb Shemon of Hazel Run, Roxanne and Mark Soderbeck of Pine City, Sharyl and Tom Kaase of Oakdale, Audrey and Barry Van Winkle of North Mankato, Patrice and Dan Weishaar of River Falls, Wisc., dean and Kimberly Shemon of Wood Lake, Glenn and Rhonda Shemon of Hastings, and Darrin and Amy Shemon of Sandy, Utah.
He was preceded n death by his grandparents.
He was born May 7, 1957 in Marshall, to Eugene and Beatrice (Skoblik) Shemon. He graduated from Wood Lake High School in 1975. He married Colette Savoie in Cottonwood. The couple settled in Marshall for a short while before moving to Cottonwood. He drove truck and hauled grain. In 1987, they moved to Posen Township, Redwood County, where he farmed and raised livestock. He also worked for Echo Coop, Wood Lake Elevator and Step-Saver. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cottonwood. He served on the Wood Lake Elevator Board and the Step-Saver Board.

Armond Preuss, 85, of 1248 2nd N. St., died Friday, July 7, 2000, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Church of Christ, New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Firle Funeral Home, and at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle of New Ulm; son and daughter-in-law Karl and Patricia Preuss of Glenview, Ill; two grandchildren; and a niece.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter; and a sister, Wilma Meyer.
He was born Oct. 10, 1914 in Nicollet to William and Mathilda (Freitag) Preuss. He graduated from New Ulm High School in 1932. He married Myrtle Grussendorf on Sept. 15, 1938 in New Ulm. He entered the U.S. Army in 1943. They lived in St. Paul after he was discharged. They moved to New Ulm in the late 1940s. He worked in sales for Raymer Hardware Co.of St. Paul and Frantz Manufacturing of Sterling, Ill. He was a member of United Church of Christ, the Lions Club, Turner Hall, the PRO Program and the Brown County Historical Society. He was a CAST board member and volunteer driver for the Senior Citizens' Transportation Program.

James Wilson, 37, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at his home.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Pillager, with burial in the Gilgal Cemetery, Pillager.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home, Redwood Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Deb; children Rick, Jenny, and Jackie, all of Redwood Falls; mother, Gayle Beukema of Blaine; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Marvin Brown of Brooklyn Park; cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews and a great niece.
He was born March 3, 1963 in Minneapolis. He attended Blaine High School. He married Debra Beiler on Sept. 26, 1986 in Redwood Falls. He worked at Schult Homes in Redwood Falls.

Brandon M. Dummer, 11, of East Bethel, died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at his home.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. today at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Fairfax, with burial at a later date in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 9-10:30 a.m. today at the church.
Arrangements are handled by the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Fairfax.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lisa and Rodney Sanow of East Bethel; father, Donn Steffl of Sleepy Eye; sisters, Marissa, Krista, and Sydney of East Bethel; maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Dummer of Fairfax; paternal grandparents, Leo and Grace Steffl of Sleepy Eye; stepgrandparents, Frank and Cel Sanow of Marshall; aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harley Dummer.
He was born July 19, 1988, in Redwood Falls to Lisa (Dummer) Sanow and Donn Steffl. He attended St. Pat's Catholic Church in Oak Grove. He received special education schooling at Cedar Creek Elementary where he recently completed sixth grade.

Ralph Soeffker, 94, died Saturday, July 8, 2000.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church, Arlington, with burial in the Arlington Cemetery.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Mavis, Ralph and Ruth of Arlington; daughters and sons-in-law, LaDonna Ohland of Spooner, Wis., Evangeline and Erwin Kramer of Gaylord, Mavis Lange of Glencoe; brother and sister-in-law, Gilbert and Eldonna of Glencoe; sisters, Norma Dircks of Chaska, Evelyn Voigt of Glencoe, Merva and Andy Grassmann of Chaska; 16 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha; wife, Ella; brother, Milo; sisters, Evangeline Soeffker, Elvira Luepke, an infant sister; and grandson Jon Soeffker.
He worked as a building contractor for more than 40 years, building many area churches and schools. He owned and operated the Lido Theater in Arlington.

Lorraine Frederickson, 69, of St. James, died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at Madelia Community Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at La Salle Lutheran Church with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Hanska.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Firle Funeral Home, Hanska, and at the church, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her husband, Marlowe, of St. James; daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Darryl Olson of Madelia, Sandra and Marvin Braun of Sleepy Eye, Darla and William Colebank of Hanska, Wanda Grunewald and special friend Don Schroeder of New Ulm, Tammy and Daniel Boddy of New Ulm, and Lori and Chuck Sukalski of Fairmont; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; twin sister Joyce and her husband Harold Luepke of Courtland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marlene Distad of Franklin, Colleen and Juleen Distad of Fairfax, sisters-in-law, Inga Beltz of Fairfax, Dorothy Christensen of Sleepy Eye, Patsy Beltz of Brooklyn Park; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Denise and Diane; grandson, Christopher Sukalski; brothers, Curtis, Harold and Teach Beltz, and brother-in-law Harold Johnson.
She was born Aug. 12, 1930, to Henry and Flora (Franke) Beltz in Home Township, Brown County, where she attended rural school. She worked at Del Monte in Sleepy Eye. She married Marlowe Frederickson Jan. 10, 1949, in Sleepy Eye. They lived near La Salle. She worked for Tony Downs in Madelia until illness forced her retirement. They moved to St. James in 1990. She belonged to LaSalle Lutheran Church.

Donna Inglis, 72, of Redwood Falls, died Sunday, July 9, 2000 at home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in Pipestone City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and will continue one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Palmer Inglis of Redwood Falls; children, Nancy Hicks and husband George Shechtman of New York, N.Y., Tracy Eichhorn-Hicks and wife Mary of Edina, George Hicks and wife Mary Dee of Eden Prairie, Bradford Hicks of Rochester, William Hicks and wife Ann of Eden Prairie, and Otho James Hicks and fiance Peg Meek of Minneapolis; stepchildren, Marcia Ann Gerhardsson and husband Ulf of Oreboro, Sweden, Stephen Inglis and wife Laura of Minnetonka Beach, James Inglis and wife Tracy of Mound, and Tom and wife Mary of Hutchinson; six grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; and brothers, Tom Root and wife Collette of North Ogden, Utah, and Jim Root and special friend Sue Denke of Willmar.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; parents, Richard and Edna Root; and stepmother Edna Russell Root.
She was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Benson, to Richard and Edna (Larsen) Root. She lived with her family in Clontarf and Hancock, moving to Redwood Falls in 1938. She graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1938 and Macalester College in 1949. She married George G. Hicks on Aug. 24, 1947, in Redwood Falls. They lived in Pipestone, where she taught piano lessons for 20 years. George died April 8, 1994 and she remained in Pipestone. She married Stephen P. Inglis on Feb. 14, 1998, in Minnetonka Beach. They lived in Redwood Falls. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Redwood Falls, and a past member of First Presbyterian Church, Pipestone, where she played piano and organ, and sang in the choir. She belonged to the P.E.O. and Eastern Star, Redwood Falls and Pipestone. She served on the American Cancer Society Board, Pipestone.

Paul Sunderman, 88, of Le Sueur, died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at Gardenview Nursing Home in Le Sueur.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Le Sueur, with burial in the Mound Cemetery at Le Sueur.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Kolden Funeral Home, Le Sueur, and at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Allan and Joan Sunderman of Le Sueur, Jerold and Eulalia Sunderman of New Ulm; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, an infant son, a grandson and two sisters.
He was born Dec. 26, 1911, in Ottawa Township, Le Sueur County, to William and Sarah (Antonsen) Sunderman. He attended Glen Miller country school, Washington School in Le Sueur and the University of Minnesota Agriculture School. He married Eudell Sohm on Sept. 10, 1936 in Le Sueur. They farmed in Ottawa Township. He helped build the United Methodist Church in Le Sueur. He served on the boards of Le Sueur Farmers Elevator and Production Credit. He also played on the Le Sueur amateur baseball team.

Sandra Schroepfer, 38, of Sleepy Eye, died Wednesday, July 12, 2000 at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Friday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. There will be a Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish prayer service 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
