Andrew Anderson, 79, formerly of Franklin, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Kewaunee Health Care Center.
Burial will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Franklin Cemetery with full military rites by the Franklin Honor Guard.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kit and Terry Johnson of Galesville, Wis., Rebecca and Mike Murphy of Kewaunee, Wis.; son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Judy Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Marge and Tom Corrigan of Palm Springs, Calif. and Winnie and Bob Renner of Ely.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Alice.
He was born July 21, 1921, in Franklin to Irving and Evelyn (Nelson) Anderson.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War.
He married Alice Wiersma. They farmed most of their life in Minnesota. He moved to Kewaunee last fall.

Verna Frederickson, 71, of LaSalle, died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Madelia Community Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at LaSalle Lutheran Church, with burial in the city cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Pease Funeral Home, St. James, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church Friday.
She is survived by daughters, Judy Helms of Coon Rapids, Linda Newberry and husband Jay of Champlin, Janet Frederickson of Minneapolis; sons, Steve and wife Nancy of New Ulm, Mark of LaSalle, and David and special friend Debbie of San Diego, Calif.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Sweeney of Fridley, and Ardis Vogt and husband Carroll of Minneapolis; brother, Harvey Petrick and wife Frankie of LaSalle; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in 1991.
She was born Nov. 6, 1928, in Watonwan County, to Otto and Sophia (Hanson) Petrick.
She attended elementary school in LaSalle and high school in St. James.
She married Harold Frederickson on June 12, 1948, in rural Hanska.
They lived in LaSalle, Godahl and Hanska.
She was a member of LaSalle Lutheran Church.

Grace Buss
FAIRFAX -- Grace Buss, 88, of Fairfax, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at Fairfax Community Home.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Wellington Township, rural Fairfax, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church.
Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Fairfax, is in charge of arrangements.

Stanley Lamecker, 82, of Searles, died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, at New Ulm Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and will continue 7:30-10 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. St. John's Catholic Aid Society will pray the rosary at 6 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m today at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
He is survived by his wife, Oleda Lamecker of Searles; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Mavis Lamecker of New Ulm, Dennis and Karen Lamecker of Apple Valley; five grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Rudy Benson of Champlin; and sister-in-law, Delores Lamecker of Hutchinson; brother and sister-in-law, Roman and Lucilla Lamecker of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Leo Lamecker.
He was born Dec. 15, 1917, in Nicollet County to Anton and Otillia (Reinhart) Lamecker.
He attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Holy Trinity Catholic School in New Ulm. On Oct, 23, 1939, he married Oleda Hoffman at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles.
He farmed in Cottonwood Township, Brown County.
He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the St. John's Catholic Aid Society in Searles.

Richard Gramentz, 81, of Springfield, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel, Springfield, with burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Springfield.
Visitation is 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel.
Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by sister Erma Lang of Sleepy Eye; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gertrude Hinton, Esther Bobsin, Ella Nelson, Laura Patterson, and Alvina Schewe; and brothers, William, Henry, Erwin, Herman, Arnold and Otto Gramentz.
He was born Aug. 25, 1918, in Burnstown Township, Brown County, to William and Alvina (Lawrenz) Gramentz. He attended country school in District 40.
He helped on the family farm and worked for many area farmers. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Donald F. 'Don' Steffl, of 214 Bianchi Drive, New Ulm, died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, near his farm in Swift County, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Steffl of New Ulm; daughters and sons in law, Terese Andersen and her husband Mark of Wausau, Wis., Lisa Drazkowski and her husband Dave of Onalaska, Wis., Chris Palmer and her husband Mark of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Ron Steffl of New Ulm, Pat Steffl and his wife Maggie of New Ulm, Dan Steffl and his wife Tammy of New Ulm, Francis Steffl and his wife Sue of Brooklyn Center; grandchildren, Jenny, Gretchen, Justin, Sarah, Rachael, Brady, Chad, Nicole and Nathan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lowell Steffl and Angie of Comfrey, Sylvester "Jim" Steffl of Starbuck, Cyril Steffl and Carol of Springfield; and sister-in-law, Carmen Steffl of Littleton, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Kenneth Steffl.
He was born July 19, 1928, in Wabasso to Sylvester and Philomina (Matter) Steffl.
He graduated from Springfield High School.
He operated a well drilling business that he later sold to family members.
He worked for Men's Assurance Company for 43 years as a salesman and district manager. He married Alice Fischer on June 1, 1954, at Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan.
He had farmed in Swift County since the early 1960s.
He was a licensed pilot for more than 45 years.
He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Catholic Order of Foresters, Turner Hall and a charter member of the Sertoma Club in New Ulm.

Anthony Sellner, 70, died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, in Toms River, N.J.
Services are 9:15 a.m. today at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Toms River, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
Memorial may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association, 1250 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, N.Y. 10305.
Delia Funeral Home, Toms River, was in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife Jane; daughters, Linda Guilfoil of Whitinsville, Mass., Lisa Revels of Stedman, N.C., Samantha Sellner of New York, N.Y.; sons, Tom of Manchester, N.J. and Patrick of North Attleboro, Mass.; sister, Donna Iten of LeSueur; and seven grandchildren.
He was born in New Ulm.
He lived in Toms River for six years, Parsippany, N.J. for 12 years, Lincoln, Neb. for 15 years, and Natick, Mass. for eight years.
He worked for Novartis Pharmaceutical, east Hanover, N.J. for 43 years.
He retired in 1994.
He was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Toms River; Communication Media Management Association, Minneapolis; American Legion, Lincoln; and the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, Parsippany, Natick and Lincoln.

Raymond D. Fredin, 77, of Comfrey, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at Springfield Medical Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Comfrey, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home, Comfrey, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church Saturday.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen; daughter, Cheryl and husband Mike Mathiowetz of Comfrey; sons, Craig and wife Julie of Comfrey, Clyde and wife Jane of Glendale, Ariz.; five grandchildren; sisters, Lorraine Engelkens of Comfrey, LaDonna and husband Francis "Ike" Ericksen of Comfrey; sister-in-law, Ann Fredin of Windom; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marlin; brother-in-law, John Engelkens; and sister Deloris.
He was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Selma Township, Cottonwood County, to Maurice and Esther (Johnson) Fredin.
He attended Comfrey Public School.
He worked for Ted Englen Construction from 1955-1963. He farmed from 1963-1980. He married Eileen Meisinger on Feb. 14, 1955, in Springfield.
He was a former member of Faith Lutheran Church and a member of New Hope Lutheran Church, Comfrey.
They moved to Comfrey in 1978. He moved to St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield, on July 12, 2000.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943-1945, receiving the WWII Victory Medal, the European Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with two battle stars, and a purple heart for wounds received in Italy in January 1944.
He was a member of Albin-Johnson American Legion Post 244 in Comfrey and the Brown County Disabled American Veterans.

Elizabeth Schwartz, 87, of Wood Lake, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at Granite Manor, Granite Falls.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wood lake, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Funeral Home, Echo, and will continue one hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.
There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband Conrad; children, Lois Bruss and husband Leland of Roseville, Arvid Schwartz and wife Judy of Green Isle, Sharon Ebert and husband Kenneth of Cannon Falls, and Jerome Schwartz of Wood Lake; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and two sisters.
She was born Nov. 18, 1912, in Minnesota Falls Township, Yellow Medicine County, to William and Martha (Kirschbaum) Schroeder.
She attended country school, St. John's Lutheran School, Wood Lake and Granite Falls Public Schools. She married Conrad Schwartz on Sept. 19, 1934.
They lived on a farm east of Wood Lake. They moved to Wood Lake in 1976. She worked as a telephone operator and did laundry at Granite Falls Hospital.
She was active in St. John's Women's Society, Wood Lake Centennial Committee and the March of Dimes.

Theresa Tauer, 85, of Sleepy Eye, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000 at home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and a Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by her children, Claudia and husband Bryan Klages of Good Thunder, Mike and wife Sandra Tauer of Burnsville, Tim and wife Lois Tauer of Sleepy Eye, Connie Tauer of New Ulm, Tom and wife Mary Tauer of Sleepy Eye, Kevin and wife Viviann Tauer of Plymouth, and Mark and wife Jeanne Tauer of Sleepy Eye; 26 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette Forster of Selah, Wash., Stella Rathman of Sleepy Eye, and Emelia Hammerschmidt of Springfield; and sister-in-law, Angie Sturm of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin; brothers, Roman and Michael; and sisters, Elizabeth Hammerschmidt and Adelia Klucas.
She was born Sept. 14, 1914, in Springfield to Michael and Elizabeth (Roiger) Sturm.
She attended schools in Springfield and New Ulm.
She married Martin G. Tauer on June 11, 1935, in Springfield. They lived in Mulligan Township, where they farmed. In 1956, they moved to Sleepy Eye, where they owned and operated Marty's Tavern until 1974. She worked at Schultz Cafe for 15 years, retiring in 1990.
She was active with Sleepy Eye Senior Citizens Center and Meals on Wheels.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Catholic Aid Association.
