Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, New Ulm, with burial in the City Cemetery, New Ulm.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. There will be a parish prayer service 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his parents, Henry F. and Lydia Liesenfeld of rural Sleepy Eye; sisters, Marian Wendler of Courtland and special friend Les Rose Jr of New Ulm, Alice Weigel and husband Darrin of New Ulm, Lillian and special friend Doug Scharfencamp of New Ulm, and Angela and fiance Rodney Ruehling of Hanska; four nieces; five nephews; grandfather Herbert Tauer of New Ulm; and his very special friend in New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by a sister in infancy; grandparents, Henry Jr. and Clara Liesenfeld and Oleta Tauer.
He was born Nov. 15, 1967 in New Ulm, to Henry F. and Lydia (Tauer) Liesenfeld. he worked as a heavy machine operator for Gopher State Scrap, Mankato.

Else Weckwerth, 77, of Arlington, died Monday, July 31, 2000 at Arlington Municipal Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Arlington, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Fenske Funeral Home, Arlington, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church Thursday. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She is survived by daughters, LaVonne Frauendienst of Arlington, and Phyllis Frauendienst and husband Raymond of New Auburn; son Duane and wife Shirley of Arlington; sister Johanna Soeffker of Arlington; sisters-in-law, Gladys Scheer and Ruth Scheer, both of Arlington, Hazel and husband Iver Weckwerth of Arlington, and Lillian Weckwerth of Green Isle; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by his parents; husband Victor; son-in-law Gary Frauendienst; grandson Lance Weckwerth; brothers, Henry and Albert Scheer; and brothers-in-law, Walter Soeffker and Ruben Weckwerth.
She was born on March 10, 1923 in Arlington Township, Sibley County, to Albert and Doris (Henke) Scheer. She married Victor Weckwerth on May 14, 1944 in Arlington. They farmed in Kelso Township. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Arlington, and the Ladies Aid. She was a former choir member at St. Paul's

Evelyn Jesse, 79, of Shawano, Wis., died Monday, July 24, 2000 at home.
Services were held in Shawano, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano.
She is survived by her husband Roy; son Marcus "Mike" and wife Virginia of Shawano; son-in-law David Schneider of Austin; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Clara Post of Shawano; and friend Irene Boerst of Shawano.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Jane Jesse and Sharon Schneider; and brothers, Arthur and Walter Post.
She was born June 5, 1921 in Herman, Shawano County, to Emily and Martha Post. She married Roy Jesse on March 22, 1938 in Herman. She worked for Jolin Company, Shawano. In 1955, they moved to New Ulm, where her husband worked for Kraft. They retired in 1976, returning to Shawano in 1987. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Shawano, and a former member of the Tabitha Society.

Marvin Borth, 85, of Winthrop, died Friday, July 28, 2000 at Glencoe Area Health Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, Winthrop, with burial in the city cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-9 a.m. Wednesday at Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Winthrop, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church Wednesday.
He is survived by his wife Olivia; grandchildren, Brittney O'Neil and husband Kevin of Rollins, Mont., Devon Hollings-worth and husband Morris of Virginia and Dawn of Warba; two great grandchildren; sisters, Orpha Kuester of Fairfax, and Loaine Williams and husband Ray of Humboldt, Ariz.; brothers, Myron and wife Mae, and Lyle and wife Elsie, all of Redwood Falls; sisters-in-law, Adeline Litzau and husband Melvin of Glencoe, Inez Alsleben and husband Erwin of Glencoe, and Bernice Bierstadt and husband Harold of Gaylord; brothers-in-law, Vernon Schultz and wife Lucille of Glencoe, Leonard Schultz and wife Martha of Chaska, and Ralph Schultz and wife Della of Buffalo Lake; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Marlin; daughter-in-law Geri; brother Murel; and brother-in-law Robert Kuester.
He was born Sept. 11, 1914 in Gibbon, to Ernst and Alvina (Lehman) Borth. He married Olivia Schultz on Oct. 14, 1936 in Gibbon. They lived in Winthrop, where he worked as a carpenter doing basic carpentry work and installing formica countertops. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Robert Peters, 53, of New Ulm, died Monday, July 31, 2000 at New Ulm Medical Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Winthrop, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Winthrop, and will continue one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Frances M. Ranweiler, 82, of New Ulm and formerly of St. George died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000 at the Gil Mor Manor in Morgan.
Mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Searles.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Christian Mothers Society will pray the rosary on Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Cathedral, there will be a combined rosary by the St. Cecelia's Court Catholic Order of Foresters and the Catholic Aid Society, both of St. George, at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Thursday, all at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Tony Sellner of New Ulm, Doris and Tom Trautmiller of St. George, and Donna and Jerome Brunner of New Ulm; a son and daughter-in-law, Delmar and Marlene Ranweiler of St. George; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Gertie Hegler of New Ulm. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Walter Hegler and Raymond Hegler; and sisters, Florence Hegler and Lucille Schmitz.
She was born June 8, 1918 in Cottonwood Township, Brown County to Albert and Mary (Fischer) Hegler. On June 6, 1938 she married Alfred Ranweiler at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles. After marriage they farmed in the St. George area. In 1969 she moved to New Ulm. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, a member of the St. Cecelia's Court, Catholic Order of Foresters and the Catholic Aid Society both of St. George; and a member of the Christian Mothers Society in New Ulm. Since Jan. 26, 1996 she had been a resident of the Gil Mor Manor in Morgan.

Robert 'Bob' Peters, 53, of New Ulm, died Monday, July 31, 2000 at New Ulm Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife Lynne; sons, Christopher and wife Tara, and Brian, all of New Ulm; a grandson Andrew of New Ulm; a brother-in-law Daryl Larson and wife Geri of Inver Grove Heights; aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles.
He was born Sept. 17, 1946 in New Ulm to Andrew and Lillian (Zupfer) Peters. He attended school in Winthrop, graduating from Winthrop High School in 1964. He received a degree in accounting from Mankato Commercial College. He entered the Army on Jan. 20, 1966, where he served in the Vietnam War. After his discharge on Jan. 19, 1968, he returned to Winthrop. He married Lynne Larson on Oct. 25, 1969 in Lafayette. He worked for Johnson Bruns & Co. Chartered, New Ulm, as an accountant, and managed the Winthrop office until ill health forced him into retirement. He was a member of Winthrop American Legion Post 314, and Winthrop V.F.W. Post 4078.

Ethel Schwarze, 86, of Brownton, died Sunday, July 30, 2000 at Franklin Healthcare Center.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Brownton, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church Saturday.
Hangte Funeral Chapel, Brownton, is in charge of arrangements.

Louise Wear, 81, of rural Nicollet, died Monday, July 31, 2000 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Lafayette, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, New Sweden Township, Nicollet County.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, New Ulm, and will continue one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. There will be a parish prayer service 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association and New Ulm Public Library for the purchase of equipment for the visually impaired.
She is survived by her husband John; daughters, Ruth and husband Dave Enfield of rural Mankato, and Mary and husband Bill Baker of Houston, Texas; sons, Joseph and wife Mary of Calville, Wash., Patrick and wife Sue, and Thomas and wife Renee, all of rural Nicollet, John of Gaylord, and James and wife Ziva of Madison, Wis.; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister Hildegard Schmidt and husband Edward of Sleepy Eye.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Alfred, Roman and Ervin Sellner.
She was born Nov. 4, 1918 in Albin Township, Brown County, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Dietz) Sellner. She was a 1936 graduate of St. Mary's High School, Sleepy Eye. She received her bachelor of arts degree in English from the College of St. Theresa, Winona, in 1940. She taught high school in Illinois for four years, then worked as a secretary and technical writer for General Mills Research Laboratory, Minneapolis, for eight years. She married John Edward Wear on Aug. 9, 1952 in Sleepy Eye. They lived in rural Long Lake. They bought a farm in 1955. She was a member of the Church of the Visitation, Swan Lake, until it closed in 1985. She was a member of the Church of St. Gregory the Great, Lafayette. She held numerous offices in the St. Mary's Society, including president, historian, and liturgy committee. She also held numerous offices on the New Ulm Diocese Council of Catholic Women, including president and publicity chairperson. She was a member of the diocese board and chairperson of the Family Affairs Committee. She also served as a board member of Minnesota Valley Regional Library System for three years and South Central Minnesota Inter-Library Exchange for three years. She was the project leader in the New Sweden 4-H club for many years and was active in the West New Sweden Extension Program.

William 'Bill' Schulz, 96, of Redwood Falls, died Sunday, July 30, 2000 at Sunwood Good Samaritan Center, Redwood Falls.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, rural Redwood Falls.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and will continue one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
He is survived by a son William and wife Alice of Hopkins; a daughter, Ruth Rust and husband Dale of Vesta; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Irene; a grandson Timothy; brothers, Albert and Sam and sisters, Minnie and Meta.
He was born Nov. 17, 1903 in Wood Lake to Samuel and Alvina (Kaatz) Schulz. He lived with his family in Wood Lake, where he attended school. He graduated from Wood Lake High School in 1921 and attended barber school in Minneapolis. He married Irene Bushiahn on Aug. 26, 1926 in Wood Lake. They lived in Wood Lake until 1945, when they moved to Seaforth, where he managed the Seaforth Grain and Fuel. He retired in 1965 and moved to Redwood Falls. He worked for Crop Insurance. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Virginia Stark, 62, formerly of New Ulm, died Tuesday, August 1, 2000, at her home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, New Ulm, with burial in the Green Lawn Cemetery, rural Nicollet.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. until services at the funeral home.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Brian Hawkins of Indianapolis, Ind.; Crista and Go Endo of Savage; a son, Marcus Daye of Crawfordsville, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Stacey Daye.
She was born April 3, 1938 in New Ulm to George and Agnes (Nourie) Schlieman. She worked as an accountant and bookkeeper for Sioux Valley Ready Mix in New Ulm, New Ulm Truck and Trailer, the Brown County Historical Society and the Gibbon Ballroom.

Tena Konakowitz, 80, of Oak Hills Living Center, New Ulm, died Wednesday, August 2, 2000, at the center.
Services are 9 a.m. Saturday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, New Ulm, with burial in the City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, New Ulm, and 8:30­9:15 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Pre-service music will be at 9:20 ­ 9:30 a.m. at the church on Saturday.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Renee Schilman, Katherine and Charles Runck, Susan and Dennis Jacobs, Janet and Mike Dalluge, and Julia and Gerald Rieger , all of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Jackie Schroeder of rural Hanska and Thomas and Diane Konakowitz of Rochester; eighteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Theresa Kroening, of New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son in infancy, a granddaughter, Erica Rieger, a son-in-law, Orval Schilman; brothers, Herman and Armin Kroening; and sisters, Bertha Wilstermann and Esther Casel.
She was born Oct. 13, 1919, in New Ulm, to Franz and Emma (Windhorn) Kroening. She married Adolph O. Konakowitz in September 1947, in New Ulm. She lived all her life in New Ulm. She worked at the Highland Manor Nursing Home for ten years and then at the Minnesota Valley Testing Lab (MVTL) for eighteen years before retiring at the age of seventy. She was a resident of the Oak Hills Living Center Nursing Home since February 2000. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she was also a member of the Ladies Aid and taught Sunday School for many years.
