Patrick Boettger, 62, of Edina, formerly of New Ulm, died Thursday, August 10, 2000, at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm,with burial in the New Ulm Catholi Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm veterans' organizations.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Tuesday, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his fiancee, Clare Kinard of Minnetonka; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Merrill Hancock of Lemore, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Joleen Boettger of Rochester; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gerald Boettger, in 1981.
He was born March 2, 1938, in New Ulm, to Walter J. and Viola (Holm) Boettger. He was a 1956 graduate of New Ulm High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He was discharged in 1963 and then attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis where he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for various companies as a mechanical engineer until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the Hopkins Westwind Community Band and played with various polka bands throughout the state.

Myrtle Johnson, 85, of Hector, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000 at Buffalo Lake Health Care Center.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hector, with burial in the city cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hector, and will continue one hour prior to services Monday.
Hughes Funeral Home, Hector, is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Nelson and husband Dale of Plymouth, Jeffrey Johnson and wife Marilyn of St. Louis, Mo., Peg Sandgren of New Ulm, and Jackie Preble and husband Mike of Apple Valley; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother Walter Krasean of Hayward, Wis.; sister Florence Potter of Owatonna; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold; and son Scott.
She was born Oct. 31, 1914 at Lakeside, Boon Township, to Gustav and Edith (Briggs) Krasean. She grew up in Lakeside, where she attended school. She married Harold Conrad Johnson on February 25, 1934 in Hutchinson. They lived in Lakeside until moving to Stewart, where they lived for 10 years before moving to Hector.

Donald Jones, 78, of Redwood Falls, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000 at Redwood Falls Hospital.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, with burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, at a later date.
Visitation is 12:30 p.m. until time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife Marge; and brother Robert of Mulvane, Kan.
He was born Sept. 22, 1921 in Miles City, Mont., to Charles and Laura (Scott) Jones. He moved with his family to Renville, where he attended Renville Schools, graduating from Renville High School in 1939. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Marjorie Katzenberger on June 18, 1960. They lived in Santa Ana, Calif. until 1973, when they moved to Redwood Falls. He was a retail clerk for a grocery chain Market Basket for 13 years in California. He worked for Northwest Drywall, Redwood Falls. He was a member of Olivia Golf Club.

Willis E. Shumski, 53, of Fairmont, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000 at Fairmont Community Hospital.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Fairmont, with burial in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, East Chain. Full military honors will be conducted by Martin County VFW Post 1222 and Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36.
Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Lakeview Funeral Home, Fairmont, and will continue one hour prior to services Monday at the church. There will be a parish prayer service 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl; sons, Troy and wife Cheryl of Mankato, and Travis of Mankato; daughter Teresa Scheff and husband Brian of East Chain; two grandchildren; brothers, Duane and wife JoAnn of Armstrong, Iowa, Larry and wife Pat of Fairmont, Vernon of Mankato, and Roger and wife Marcella of Winnebago; sister Mavis Olson and husband Dennis of Clear lake, Iowa; father and mother-in-law Maurice and Phyllis Theobald of Huntley; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Ruby Norem; brothers, Gordon and one who died during infancy.
He was born Aug. 16, 1946 in East Chain Township, Martin County, to Julius and Mary (Stefanski) Shumski. he grew up in the East Chain area and was a 1964 graduate of East Chain High School. he served in the United States Navy from 1966 until his discharge in 1970. He married Cheryl Kelly on June 27, 1970 in Fairmont. He worked at Stokely Van Camp-Pic Sweet-United Foods until 1992, when they closed. He then went to work for Kraft Foods, New Ulm, and Corn Plus, Winnebago. He has worked as chief boiler operator for the City of Fairmont since 1996. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Fairmont, Martin County VFW Post 1222, Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36, Minnesota deer Hunter's Association, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and the National Rifle Association.

Martha Schlagel, 93, of Hutchinson, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000 at Burns Manor Nursing Home, Hutchinson.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Hutchinson, with burial in St. Willibrords Cemetery, Gibbon.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and 8-9 a.m. Wednesday at Dobratz-Hantge Chapel, Hutchinson, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a CCW rosary service 5 p.m. and a prayer service 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Roy Johnson, 87, of Fridley, formerly of New Ulm, died Saturday, August 12, 2000, at the Lynwood Health Care Center in Fridley.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with burial in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of the arrangements.

Annella Wahldick, 69, of Spicer, formerly of Morton, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Redwood Valley Funeral Home Chapel, Redwood Falls, with burial in Arlington Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and will continue one hour prior to services Wednesday.
She is survived by her children, Michael of Franklin, Nancy Billmeier of Redwood Falls, Mark of Franklin, and Patti and husband Roger Jenniges of Redwood Falls; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; former husband Harry of Morton; and many special friends in Spicer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Ray; and sister Jean.
She was born Aug. 26, 1930, in Arlington, to Leo and Elizabeth (Brass) Meyers. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1948. She married Harry Wahldick on April 10, 1954 in Arlington. After Harry's discharge from the service they settled in Madison. They later lived in Mankato and Bixby. They moved to Morton in 1959. She moved to Spicer in 1985. She was a former member of St. John's Altar Society, Morton.

Delores Benson, 64, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at St. Joseph Medical Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church, Blaine; with burial at Morningside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is one hour before services today at the church. Gearhart Coon Rapids Chapel handled arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald; son, Mark; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynne and Kim Gosselin, Dawn and Scott Davis; three grandchildren; a brother, Leon Fritsche; and sister, Elaine Evans.
Memorials are preferred.

Dennis Lowther, 47, of Fargo, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at his lake home.
Services were Monday at Community Baptist Church, Fargo.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Andy; daughter, Sarah; brothers, Mic of Anchorage, Alaska, Michael and his fiancee Debbie of Lake City, Patrick and Michal of Sleepy Eye and Joseph and Linda of Winona.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bette Frances.
He was born Dec. 20, 1952, in Winona. He married Sharon Royal July 12, 1975 in Moorhead. He attended Moorhead Technical College. He worked for NCR Corporation for two years. He formed Lowther Corporation and GET-LOW, Inc. which created software systems; and was a partner and CEO of Mississippi Jewel in Lake City.

She is survived by her daughters, Clara Betker of Hutchinson, Joan and John Greene of Danvers, Margaret and Steven Gohla of Andover, Lucy and Stephen Olsen of Alexandria; sons, George and Henry of Buffalo Lake, James of Hutchinson; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Mary Ann Klement; son, Joseph; sons-in-law, Robert Klement and Roger Betker; granddaughter Wendy Betker; brothers, George and Joseph Schnichels; and sisters Frances, Elizabeth and Marie.
She was born April 17, 1907, in Martinsburg Township, Renville County, to Joseph and Sophie (Kemp) Schnichels. She attended Country School District 78 in Renville County. She married Louis Schlagel on Feb. 9, 1926, at St. John's Catholic Church, Hector. They farmed near Hector, Stewart and Buffalo Lake, retired in 1966 and moved to Hutchinson. Louis died August 31, 1978. She belonged to St. Anastasia Catholic Church.

Roy R. Johnson, 87, formerly of New Ulm died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at Lynwood Health Care Center in Fridley.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Robert Kleinhans of Bloomington, Judy Johnson of Blaine, and Joyce and Dennis Hoehne of Windom; sons and daughters-in-law, Loren and Jeanne Johnson of Forest Lake, and Allan and Nancy Johnson of Blaine; 24 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Marcella Johnson on Feb. 26, 1961; daughters, Loretta Johnson, Eloise Derksen; granddaughter, Kimberly Johnson; three brothers; and one sister.
He was born July 17, 1913 in Wells, Kansas, to Clifford and Ida (Cheney) Johnson. He attended country school in Wells, Kansas. After his family moved to Ceylon, he attended country school in rural Ceylon. On Oct. 7, 1933, he married Marcella Lubenow in Estherville, Iowa. They lived in the Comfrey, New Ulm, and the Blaine area where he worked as an auto mechanic. He retired in 1978. After retiring he was a volunteer for the Brown County Senior Companion Program. He was a member of the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Robert Blazing, 80, formerly of New Ulm and a Mayo Clinic employee, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Resurrection Catholic Church, Rochester, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Rochester.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. at Macken Funeral Home, Rochester; and at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Trista, Dennis and Vicki and Dale, all of Rochester; and David and Paula of Racine, Wis.; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Daniel Young of Eyota; six grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Louise of Rochester and Richard and JoAnne of Viola; sisters and sons-in-law, Arlene and Dwight Felt of Rupert, Idaho and Delores and Darrell of Le Roy.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
He was born March 20, 1920, in Haverhill Township, Olmsted County. He married Loretta Sellner on Nov. 7, 1953, at St. John's Catholic Church in Rochester. They lived in Rochester.
