Margaret Simning, 98, of St. Peter, died on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000, at St. Peter Community Health Care Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso, with burial in St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Thursday with a parish prayer service at 4:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Catholic Church, St. Peter, and at the church Friday, one hour before the Funeral Mass.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Bernice and Ralph Youngman, St. Peter; one grand daughter, two great, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was born March 15, 1902 in Behmen, Austria to John and Margaret (Ruby) Simon. The family immigrated to America, arrived in Baltimore on May 25, 1907 and rural Wabasso on May 29, 1907. She attending parochial boarding school in Springfield until her mother died, after which she stayed at home to take care of the family. She married Harvey Simning November 24, 1931 in Wabasso. They remained there until moving to St. Peter in 1975. She worked as a cook at Wabasso Public School and did domestic work for many families. She belonged to the St. Monica Society in Wabasso, the St. Mary's Guild in St. Peter, and the St. Peter Senior Citizens.

Sister Michael Welch, 82, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000 at Assisi Heights, the Franciscan Mother House, Rochester.
Services are Thursday at Assisi Heights Chapel, Rochester,.
Visitation begins 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Assisi Heights.
She is survived by many family members, and the community of Franciscan Sisters, including her blood sister, Sister Renata Welch of Assisi Heights, Rochester.
She spent 30 years at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, as the convent home maker and teacher's aide in the primary grades. She served four different times between 1943 and 1993.

Charles Niehoff, 66, of 1915 N. Spring St., New Ulm, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2000 at home.
Services are 7 p.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, New Ulm.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The cremated remains will be scattered at sea at a later date.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; daughters, Teresa Doty of Oak Harbor, Wash., Veronica Braulick of New Ulm, and Cynthia and husband Robert Hansen of LeSueur; sons, John of St. Paul, Christopher and wife LuAnn of Springfield, and Mark and wife Donna of Galesburg, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Phylis and husband Lester Domeier, Elaine Roiger, and Margaret and husband Charles Forster, all of New Ulm, Lorraine and husband Marvin Christle of Carlsbad, Calif., and Mary Lou Pischke of Glendora, Calif.; and a brother, James and wife Maryann of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Donald Roiger and Duwayne Pischke; and mother-in-law Mary Schipplick.
He was born Oct. 29, 1933 in St. James, to Lawrence and Louise (Boor) Niehoff. He graduated from New Ulm Public High School in 1952. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1952. He married Shirley Bethel on June 8, 1957 in New Ulm. He continued serving with the Navy, retiring in 1972. After returning to New Ulm, he worked for Current Meats and at Schell's Brewery, where he worked as a boilerman and tour guide for 20 years. He was a member of the New Ulm Battery 20 years, and was a 30 year member of the Fleet Reserve Association.

Dr. Theodore "Ted" Aaker, 93, formerly of Gaylord, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000 at the St. Francis Hospital, Shakopee.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Gaylord. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is one hour before services at the church. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord.
He is survived by daughters, Janet and husband, George Stevens of Bloomington, and Karen and husband David Minge, of Montevideo; sons, Steven and wife Janine Aaker of New Market, and Douglas Aaker of St. Cloud; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mabel Nielsen and husband, Bjorne of Coon Rapids; three sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, five brothers and a sister.
He was born Feb. 16, 1907, in Minnewaukan, N.D., to Ole S. and Marie (Jeglum) Aaker. He attended Concordia College in Moorhead. His dental training was completed in 1933 at the University of Minnesota Dental School. He began his dental practice in Gaylord in 1933 and continued to practice until 1982.
He married Arleen Langhoff on June 26, 1937, at Augustana Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. She died in 1998. In October 1998, he moved to Bloomington to live with his daughter.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and was finance secretary. He served on the Gaylord Public School Board, was president of the Community Hospital Board, served as president of the Gaylord Community Club, and was president and secretary of the Gaylord Rotary Club. He served as a Cub Scout leader, scoutmaster and a member of the Minnesota Valley Boy Scout Council, where he was honored with a Silver Beaver Award. He was a member of an Over 60 Band and flew an airplane outside Gaylord.

William Forbrook, 73, of Morgan, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2000, at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Morgan, with burial in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Nelson Funeral Home in Morgan and at the church Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife Florence; a son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Leanne of Maple Grove; daughters and sons-in-law, Doreen and Gary Gustafson of Edwardsville, Ill., Lorie and Jeff Hoffbeck of Morgan; six grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willmar and Lavonne of Franklin, Chuck and Darlene of Rochester, and Louis and Brenda of Sleepy Eye; a sister, Hazel Bohn of Morgan; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Forbrook of Bullhead City, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Clinton and Elmer and a brother-in-law, Donald Bohn.
He was born June 7, 1927 to Louis and Ida (Beilke) Forbrook in Morgan Township, Redwood County. He attended District #51 country school and graduated from Morgan High School in 1944. He married Florence Steinhaus on Sept. 30, 1947 in Morgan. They farmed in Morgan Township until retiring in 1989 and moving to Morgan. He belonged to Zion Lutheran Church where he was an elder and usher.

Judith Daun, 61, of Redwood Falls, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2000 at home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, with burial in the city cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
She is survived by children, Tracy Norcutt of Englewood, Colo., David and wife Marcy of Palisade, Mary Plumley and husband Les of Lake Lillian, Brian of Burnsville, Lorri Kohle and husband Jeff of Parker, Colo., Mark of Burnsville, Mike of Burnsville, Kim Pendleton and husband Russ of Redwood Falls, Eric of Shakopee, Shannon of Burnsville, and Amy of Redwood Falls; 15 grandchildren; brothers, Kaye Baldwin of California, and Harold Baldwin of Georgia; and sister Mary Jean Dennis of New York.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard; and brother Paige.
She was born Sept. 28, 1938, in Minnesota, to Chester and Alice (McLagan) Baldwin. She graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1957. She worked for a local telephone company. She married Richard Daun on Jan. 25, 1958. They lived in Morton. She worked for ADC Telecommunications in Fairfax, and Jackpot Junction near Morton.

Lona Hauptli, 87, of Wabasso, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2000, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at New Avon United Methodist Church in New Avon Township, with burial in the Salem United Methodist Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and at the church Friday, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Robert Kubiak of Haines City, Fla. and son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Maxine Hauptli of Raymond; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Beyer of Redwood Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; brother, Roland Overmeyer; sisters, Pearl Ward, Gleva Tetrick and Doris Quesenberry.
She was born May 8, 1913, in Frankfurt, S.D. to Ernest and Frieda (Bindenagel) Overmeyer. The family moved to rural Redwood Falls and she attended country school near Wanda. She married John Hauptli on Nov. 8, 1939, in Springfield. They lived in Redwood Falls. She was a member of the New Avon United Methodist Church, UMW, Sunshine Committee, Community Education and Site Advisory Board, Wabasso Senior Citizens, "The Sing Along Gals," and Royal Neighbors of American. She was named the Redwood County Outstanding Senior Citizen in 1997.

Regina 'Jean' Kronbach, 74, of Redwood Falls, formerly of Lamberton, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at Redwood Falls Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in Lamberton City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the church, and will continue one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. There will be a parish prayer service 7 p.m. today at the church.
Sunset Funeral Home, Echo, is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Karen Kronbach of Litchfield, Arlen and wife Peggy of Lamberton, Cynthia Hutchinson and husband Kim of Coon Rapids, Dean and wife Jodi of Lamberton, Duane and wife Kristen of Lamberton, and Lisa Schroeder and husband Dale of Renville; 13 grandchildren; brothers, David Revier and wife Iris of Apple Valley, and Ralph and wife Jan of Redwood Falls; sisters, Dolores O'Hearn and husband Charles of St. Paul, Agnes Paulson of Alexandria, Mary Sarto of Redwood Falls, and Ann Dixon of Redwood Falls; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer; parents; brothers, Gabriel and Joseph; sisters, Mary, Theresia, Louise, Paulette Manion, and Mary Ellen Gagne; and grandsons, Brent and Bryan Kronbach.
She was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Ray, N.D. to Ralph and Theresia (Voltin) Revier. She married Elmer Kronbach on Jan. 25, 1951, in Redwood Falls. They lived on a farm near Lamberton. She moved to Redwood Falls in September 1996.

Ursula Nuessle, 82, of Springfield, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at the Springfield Medical Center.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Springfield, with burial in Springfield City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth Nuessle of Mankato; a brother, Dr. William Nuessle of Apple Valley; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Walter Nuessle, Jr.
She was born June 17, 1918 to Dr. Walter and Helen Nuessle in Milroy. She spent most of her life in Springfield. She worked at various jobs in the Springfield area. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Springfield.

Elmer Sather, 89, of Franklin, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at the Franklin Health Care Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Franklin, with burial at Central Lutheran Church Cemetery, Camp Township, Renville County.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at the Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and at the church Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.

Cleo Wendt, 85, of Springfield, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Al Brown of Comfrey and Lois and Edwin Halvorson of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; a son-in-law, Donald Waskosky of Mankato; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arnold in 1979; a daughter Janice; sisters Agnes, Ramona, Viola, Hazel and Alice; and brothers, Orville, Richard, Henry, Tony, Alvin, Arnold, and Raymond.
She was born July 18, 1915 to Senius and Rikka Jensen in Sundown Township, Brown County. She attended country school. She married Arnold Wendt Feb. 12, 1934 in Springfield. She was a member of Sundown Lutheran Church and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
