Mary Zea, 96, of St. James died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center, St. James.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, St. James, with burial in Butterfield City Cemetery, Butterfield.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the Sturm Funeral Home in St. James and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

Ann Kandt, 90, of Hutchinson, formerly of Buffalo Lake, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000 at Burns Manor Nursing Home, Hutchinson.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Buffalo Lake, with burial in the city cemetery.
Visitation is 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, and will continue one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
Hughes Funeral Home, Hector, is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by daughter Shirley Rudy and husband Thomas of Tomball, Texas; grandchildren, Tracey of Houston, and Adam of Fort Riley, Kan.; brother, Martin Dreyer and wife LaVerna of Hutchinson; sister Hattie Jaenicke and husband Glenn of Buffalo Lake; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wilbert; sisters, Elsie Meyer, Tillie Gildemister, Emma Burdorf, and Martha Penk; and brothers, Herbert, Elmer, and John.
She was born Sept. 29, 1909 in Moltke Township, Sibley County, to Dietrich and Sophie (Mueller) Dreyer. She attended rural school. She married Wilbert E. Kandt on Sept. 23, 1934 in Buffalo Lake. Wilbert died in 1971. She remained on the farm until age 85, when she moved to Prince of Peace Retirement Living Apartments, Hutchinson. She moved to Burns Manor Nursing Home on July 7, 2000. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Buffalo Lake.

Lorraine Potter, 77, 120 S. Franklin St., died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000 at Maple Manor, Rochester.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Ulm, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by husband, Donald of New Ulm; sons, Bruce and wife Patricia of New Ulm, Brian of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter Beth and husband Douglas Plesencia of Chandler, Ariz.; grandchildren, Jonathan and Susan Plesencia, and Christopher Potter; sisters-in-law, Luella (Lou) Moeller of Winthrop, and Joanne Hacker of Kingman, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother Donald.
She was born Sept. 8, 1923, in New Ulm, to Alfred and Minnie (Kuester) Hacker. She attended St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran School and graduated from New Ulm High School. She married Donald Potter on Dec. 7, 1945 in New Ulm. They lived for a short time in Springfield before returning to New Ulm. She worked as an LPN at the former Union Hospital, and as a caregiver for many people in their homes. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a member of New Ulm Farm City-Hub Club.

Paula Morgan, 94, of Woodbury, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at her home.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, St. Paul.
She is survived by son, John and his wife Lois of Littleton, Colo.; daughter, Marlyss and husband Jack Burch of Lamberton; sister, Mary Barashas of San Jose, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
She was the widow of the Rev. Gerald Morgan, who served Methodist churches in Jasper, Dundas, Lake Benton, Hendricks, Ivanhoe, Morton, Franklin, Lafayette, Winthrop, Walnut Grove, Holly, Milaca, Onamia, Arlington, McGregor, and Palisades. After retiring, they lived in Mesa, Ariz.

Glen Knudson, 85, of Madelia, formerly of Comfrey, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, at Luther Madelia Home, Madelia.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Butternut, with burial in Butternut Valley Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church Saturday.
He is survived by his wife Myrtle; daughter, Carol of North Mankato; brother, Russell and wife Betty of Fairmont; brother-in-law, Harold Samuelson of St. James; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lowell, Earl and Leslie; and sister Rose.
He was born Aug. 8, 1915, in rural Comfrey to George and Clara (Samuelson) Knudson. He grew up in rural Comfrey and attended rural schools. He married Myrtle Johnson on Feb. 19, 1938. They farmed in rural Madelia until 1993 when they moved into Madelia. He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Butternut, and a former member of Albion Lutheran Church. He served on the church council and on the cemetery board. He has also served on the Luther Memorial Home board of directors and Madelia Township board.

Floyd "Pete" Lindemann, 70, of Chandler, Ariz., formerly of New Ulm, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at Chandler Regional Hospital, Chandler, Ariz.
Private family services will be held. Arrangements are with Bueler Mortuary, Chandler, Ariz.
He is survived by his wife, Norene Maier, of Sun Lakes, Ariz., sons, Chris Maier of Chandler, Ariz., Jeffrey, Lance, Lee, Bruce and Kirk Lindemann, all of Southern California; sisters, Evelyn Martin of Chandler, Ariz., Alma Stadick of New Ulm; brother, Daniel Lindemann of Shakopee; five grandchildren, a niece.
The family prefers contributions to the American Heart Association.
Floyd "Pete" Lindemann was born Jan. 10, 1930, in New Ulm. He attended New Ulm High School, graduating in 1949. He lived in town until 1958. He was a member of the New Ulm National Guard. While his primary occupation was in construction as a supervisor, he also was a "daredevil" for Ford Motor Company, working as a stunt car driver. He lived in California before moving to Sun Lakes, Ariz., in 1979.

Jason Wyffels, 30, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, due to injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Redwood Valley Funeral Home Chapel, Redwood Falls. Interment will be in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, Gilfillan.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Redwood Valley Funeral Home, Redwood Falls.
He is survived by his parents, Steve and Jan Wyffels of Redwood Falls; brother, Conrad Wyffels and fiance, Camie Lund, of rural Morgan; grandmother, Alvina Hoffbeck of Morgan; other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, an uncle and a special friend, Gary "Beep" Werner.
Jason Matthew Wyffels was born Aug. 20, 1970, son of Steve and Jan Wyffels. He was baptized at First United Methodist Church, Redwood Falls, in 1970. He attended Redwood Falls/Morton High School, graduating in 1988. After his schooling, he worked at Hutchinson Technical Institute. He then returned to work in the Redwood area, most recently at Redwood Motor Supply. He belonged to the IMCA, and raced IMCA Modifieds.

Emma Zeug, 91, of New Ulm died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in he St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in rural Searles.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The St. Elizabeth Catholic Aid Society will pray the rosary at 6 p.m. and there will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., both Sunday evening at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Willard Tauer of New Ulm, Hilary and Rosemary Tauer of Windom, Norbert and Betty Ubl of rural New Ulm, Leonard and Charlene Ubl of Mankato, and Melvin and Shirley Kamm of Searles, Lorraine and Dennis Reinarts of New Ulm, Elaine and Arnold Beranek of Klossner and Delores and Marvin Reinarts of rural New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, August 'Gust' Zeug; sisters, Anna Ubl, Katherine Tauer, Mary Kamm, Frances Zeug, and Brigitta Zeug.
She was born June 2, 1909, in Stark Township, Brown County, to Anton and Mary (Dauer) Zeug. She attended District 4 country school in Cottonwood Township, Brown County. Emma was a housekeeper for the clergy and also many other families. She later worked for many years as a cook for the Kaiserhoff Restaurant in New Ulm until her retirement.
She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the St. Elizabeth Catholic Aid Society all in New Ulm.

Loretta Cordes, 90, of the Luther Home in Madelia, formerly of New Ulm, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at the Madelia Community Hospital in Madelia.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Malletta Family Sunset Chapel in Missoula, Mont., with private family burial on Tuesday at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Anaconda, Mont.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of local arrangements and notifications.
She is survived by a son, Ralph Hagemo of Missoula, Mont.; daughters, Darlene Choquette and Dorothy Masonovich both of Butte, Mont., Bonnie Miller of Seeley Lake, Mont., Cynthia Ross of Centralia, Wash.; twenty grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, and nieces, a nephew and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands; and brother Walter.
She was born August 15, 1910 in New Ulm, to John and Louise (Lieske) Steinkraus. She attended Lutheran Parochial Grade School and graduated from New Ulm Public School. She attended Martin Lutheran College and the Meedcura Sanitarium Hospital, where she graduated as a nursing student in 1928. She received her Nursing Degree from the Loretta Hospital in New Ulm. She moved to Huron, S.D.
She married Arnold Hagemo on January 1, 1929, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. He worked for 38 years in various hospitals. She returned to New Ulm in 1985. She married Erwin Cordes on August 15, 1985, at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. He died April 30, 1988.
She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Ulm, Ladies Aid Society, New Ulm Country Club, and the Humane Society all in New Ulm.
Memorials are preferred to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, the Humane Society or the local food bank.

Kay Young, 59, of Redwood Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000 at Emmanuel Home, Litchfield.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in the city cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and will continue one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
She is survived by husband, Mike; daughters, Debra and husband Tom Werpy of Marshall, Kristin Wolff of Litchfield, Kelly and husband Jeff Olson of Savage, and Connie and husband Dallas Einck of Redwood Falls; 12 grandchildren; mother, Hattie Nielsen of Redwood Falls; sister, Barb and husband Roman Seaman of Redwood Falls; and brother, Ken and wife Arlene Nielsen of Lakeland, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her father Einer in 1978; and brother Richard Nielsen.
She was born June 23, 1941, in Springfield, to Einer and Hattie (Christiansen) Nielsen. She attended country school near Clements and Morgan High School. She married M.C. Mike Young on Feb. 15, 1957, in Redwood Falls. She worked as a nurses aide in Redwood Falls at Sunwood Good Samaritan Center, County Nursing Home, and Wood Dale Nursing Home for 21 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Redwood Falls.

Norbert A. Linsmeier, 78, of Fairfax, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Franklin Healthcare Center, Franklin.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Fairfax, with burial in the church Cemetery, with full military rites by the Fairfax Honor Guard.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-8 a.m. Wednesday at Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Fairfax, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church Wednesday. There will be a rosary 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
