Delila Miller, 72, of 404 N. Payne St., New Ulm, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000 at the Oak Hills Living Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and continue one hour before the service Saturday at the church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Pat Mathiowetz of New Ulm; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Vicki Miller of Franklin; grandchildren, Jacob Miller, Sara Miller, and Eric Miller; stegrandchildren, Jody Walls and her husband David, and Paula Thunander; step-great grandchildren, Jacob Thunander and Tyler Walls; and a sister Verona Bode of New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Miller, in 1994; brother Lloyd Schroeder; and sisters Ruth Schroeder, Valeria Bode, and Alice Schroeder in infancy.
She was born March 21, 1928, in Eden Township, Brown County, to Emil and Hanna (Engel) Schroeder. She graduated from Morgan High School in 1945. On Oct. 2, 1947 she married Ray Miller at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eden Township, Brown County. They lived in New Ulm. She worked for two years at the New Ulm Greenhouse and for four years at McCleary Auto Parts. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church where she volunteered for the flower and altar committee and belonged to the quilting group. She also volunteered at Highland Manor Nursing Home where she took the residents to the weekly church services held at the home.

Lois Dannheim, 76, of Sleepy Eye, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000 at Merit Care Hospital, Fargo, N.D.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Faith United Methodist Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, and will continue one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
She is survived by daughters, Barb and husband Bob Miller of Montgomery, and Judy and husband Frank Vogel of Underwood; daughter-in-law Arla Dannheim of Lake George; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Merrill "Mickey" Roberts of Sleepy Eye, James and wife Alice Roberts of New Ulm, Mildred Eckstein of Sleepy Eye, Helen and husband Kenny Zobel of New Ulm, Bob Roberts of Sleepy Eye, Beach and wife Pauline Roberts of Sanborn, Tom and wife Joyce Roberts of Sleepy Eye, and Jack and wife Kathy Roberts of Nevis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Benjamin; son Ben; sister Katherine Kirkpatrick; granddaughter Janet Vogel; brother-in-law Joe Eckstein; and sisters-in-law Mary and Vonnie.
She was born Dec. 28, 1923 in Sleepy Eye, to William and Isabella (McKenzie) Roberts. She grew up and attended school in Sleepy Eye. After graduating from high school she attended St. Theresa's College, Winona, for two years. She married Benjamin Dannheim on February 4, 1943 in Sleepy Eye. The couple lived in Sleepy Eye until 1952, when they moved to St. Peter. They returned to Sleepy Eye in 1966. She worked as a typesetter at Haas Printing, which is now Advertising Unlimited Inc., Sleepy Eye, retiring in 1986. She remained in Sleepy Eye, spending summers near Park Rapids.

Milford Maltz, 82, of Fairfax, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000 at Fairfax Community Home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Fairfax, with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Cairo Township, Renville County, with full military rites by the Fairfax Honor Guard.
Visitation is one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
He is survived by sisters Gladys of Fairfax, and Sylvia Huebner of Fairfax; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Vernon and Marvin.
He was born Sept. 19, 1918 in Bismarck Township, Sibley County, to Henry and Martha (Kley) Maltz. He attended country school in Hector. He moved with his family to Fairfax in the mid 1930s. He entered the U.S. Army Nov. 12, 1942, and served as a corporal during World War II. He fought in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theaters. He received an honorable discharge Nov. 7, 1945. He worked as a trucker and at Stimpert's Lumber, Sleepy Eye. He lived in Fairfax until ill health required him to move to Franklin Healthcare Center. He recently moved to Fairfax Community Home. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Fairfax, the Fairfax American Legion Post 205 and the Fairfax VFW Post 8459.

Palmyre Friton, 89, of Waukesha, Wisc., formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 at Faith United Methodist Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29 and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday Sept. 30 at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church Saturday.

Calvin Fischer, 76, of St. Paul, formerly of North Redwood, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000 at Our Lady of Good Council Nursing Home, St. Paul.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Redwood Falls. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Willwerscheid Mortuary, St. Paul, and 4-7 p.m. Monday at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls.
Fischer is survived by brothers, Joseph Fischer and wife, Lillian, of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Donald Fischer and wife, Carolyn, of Shoreview; sisters, Kathleen Schemel and husband, Gordon, of Renville, and Grace Lueck and husband, Orrin, of Danube; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.
Calvin Jasper Fischer was born June 9, 1924, on the family farm in Renville County, son of Joseph and Eudora (Bierlein) Fischer. He spent his childhood in Renville County and attended country school. He moved to Chaska and worked for several years at Linne Bakery in Chaska during his high school years. He graduated from Chaska High School in 1942. After spending several years helping on the family farm near Sacred Heart, he returned to the Minneapolis area. He was a retired employee of Northwest Airlines in Minneapolis. He also owned and managed rental property in St. Paul.

Clinton Fullerton, 93, of Morton died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, at his home in Morton.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Morton. Interment will be in the Morton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Olga, of Morton; a son, Douglas Fullerton and wife, Lori, of St. Paul; daughters, Beverly Kirwan and husband, Terrance, of St. Paul, and Barbara Pehl of St. Paul; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; a sister-in-law, Valeria Borth and a brother-in-law, Elmer Borth, both of Fairfax; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Clinton Fullerton was born June 25, 1907, in Birch Coulee Township, Renville County, to George and Nettie (Hubbard) Fullerton, Sr. He lived in the Franklin and Morton area and attended country school and Morton School. After his schooling, he helped his parents with farming. He married Olga Borth on June 15, 1932, at Wellington Lutheran Church, Wellington Township. They lived in Cosmos for three years, where he managed a poultry farm. They then returned to Morton and farmed. He also was a journeyman carpenter. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Morton. He belonged to the Lutheran Men's Club, Lutheran Mixed Choir and served as usher. He was a member of the local Farmers Union for several years, serving as president and treasurer.

Freda Stresemann, 79, of Winthrop died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at her home in Winthrop.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Penn Township. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. Monday to the time of service at the church. Dalin-Hantge Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Streseman is survived by sons, Dennis Stresemann and wife, Lee, of Clarence, Iowa, and Kim Stresemann of Gaylord; two grandchildren; and a brother, Helmuth Bielke and wife, Marion, of Edina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother and two sisters.
Freda C. Stresemann was born May 7, 1921, in Transit Township, Sibley County, to Frank and Martha (Rettig) Bielke. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed in her faith as a youth at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. She attended country school. She married Orville Stresemann on June 28, 1939, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, New Auburn. The family farmed in Transit Township. Orville died in 1978, and she moved to Winthrop. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Penn Township.

Jerome G. Schwab, 77, formerly of 405 S. Highland Ave., in New Ulm died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at the Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the St. George Catholic Cemetery in St. George. Military Honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm veterans organizations.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. St. George Catholic Aid Society will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. both
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and David Wendinger of St. George; sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Debey Schwab of Johnston, Iowa, Dick Schwab and Katherine Burford of Solon, Iowa, Patrick and Christine Schwab of Westfield, Ind.; honorary son, Rick Weinhandl and his wife, Sheila of Rogers; grandchildren, Matt, Eric and Katie Wendinger, Isaac Schwab, and Robyn, Kirsten and Jennifer Schwab; and brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Esther Schwab of St. George.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolores M. Schwab on April 23, 1999; two children in infancy; and brothers, Ray Schwab and Leander Schwab.
He was born on July 20, 1923, in West Newton Township, Nicollet County, to Frank J. and Mary (Smasal) Schwab. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Dolores M. Griebel on Oct. 4, 1947, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette. They farmed in West Newton Township, Nicollet County, for 33 years. He also was a livestock trucker for 30 years hauling primarily to South St. Paul and Sioux Falls, S.D. After retirement from farming in 1980, they moved to New Ulm. He worked at the Brown County Fairgrounds for 20 years as grounds keeper and assistant. He served on the board of directors for the Klossner State Bank, Nicollet County Planning and Zoning, and the Gibbon Farmers Elevator. He was a 4-H leader and Hub Club Member and was an honorary member of the New Ulm F.F.A. Chapter. He was a past member of St. George Catholic Church and had served on various church councils. He was a 61-year member of the St. George Catholic Aid Society and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm.

Palmyra 'Polly' F. Friton, 89, of Muskego, Wis., died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Waukesha, Wis.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, and will continue one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
She is survived by her daughter, Ardis and husband Milton Larsen of West Allis, Wis.; son, Paul and wife Joy of Pipestone; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Marguerite and husband Wallace Johnson of Richfield; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edmund in 1973; daughter, Avis Buckmeier; and sister, Ruth Zieske.
She was born May 28, 1911, in Sleepy Eye, to Fred and Lydia (Kissner) Sasse. She attended school in Sleepy Eye. She attended nurse's training in Minneapolis. She married Edmund George Friton on Jan. 10, 1930, in Minneapolis. They farmed two miles north of Sleepy Eye until 1960, when they moved to town. She remained in Sleepy Eye until 1998, when she moved to Wisconsin to live with her daughter. On Oct. 1, 1999, she moved to Meskego Nursing Home. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Sleepy Eye, the Sleepy Eye Hospital Auxiliary, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Olivia Chapter.

Lois Bruns, 56, of Rt. 2, North Mankato, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at her home.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with burial in the church cemetery in rural Nicollet.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and continues one hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Bruns of rural North Mankato; mother and stepfather, Irma and Donald Summers of North Mankato; daughters, Lisa Bruns of Bloomington and Becky Bruns at home; sons and daughters-in-law, Loren and Bridget Bruns of North Mankato and Lynn and Elizabeth Bruns of Zumbrota; grandsons, Nicholas and Lucas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Dave Prom, Myra and Dennis Sohre all of Good Thunder.
She was preceded in death by her father Gabriel Maas; and a sister Elaine in infancy.
She was born Feb. 14, 1944, in Mankato to Gabriel and Irma (Rosin) Maas. She graduated from Nicollet High School in 1962. She married Roger Bruns on Sept. 11, 1965,at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. They farmed in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet and the Ladies Guild.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and School.

Fern Mae Meyer, 74, of St. Peter died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at St. Peter Community Hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Klein Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Hill Memorial Park, Mankato.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home Thursday.
She is survived by son, James K. Espenson and wife, Dianne, of Port Townsend, Wash.; daughter, Carolyn Zeoy "Lynne" Sloan and husband, James, of Wright; sister, Mavis Marcus of St. Peter; brothers, Sidney Spangenberg and wife, Betty, of Mankato, Neal Spangenberg and wife, Darlene, of Mankato; sister-in-law, Hope Spangenberg of Fairmont; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, a brother and a sister.
She was born Sept. 27, 1925, in New Ulm, to Frederick Carl and Irene (Schultz) Spangenberg. She attended New Ulm schools, graduating in 1943. She received her licensed practical nursing degree from Union Hospital, New Ulm. She worked at Union Hospital and later at a nursing home in Olivia. She married William Kenneth Espenson in March of 1946 in New Ulm. They lived in Cambria and in Lake Crystal. They divorced in 1963. She married Donald Meyer in 1970 in South Dakota. The couple lived in Olivia. She moved to St. Peter in October 1995. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Olivia and the American Red Cross.

Arthur H. 'Art' Maas, 84, of Rt. 2, North Mankato, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at Grandview Care Center in St. Peter.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and one hour before Friday for one hour prior to services at the church.
