Abigale Rose Peterson, 5, of Sleepy Eye died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at New Ulm Medical Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Evan. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, and will continue for one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
She is survived by her parents, DuWayne and Shannon (Duffy) Peterson of Sleepy Eye; brother, Samuel; paternal grandparents, Jim and Melva (Young) Peterson of Sleepy Eye; maternal grandparents, Larry and Shari (Rangel) Duffy of Duluth; great-grandparents, Ralph and Ruth Rangel of McAllen, Texas; several uncles, aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Norma Peterson; great-grandparents, Adelaide and Jack Duffy; uncles, Dennis Peterson and Tom Duffy.
She was born March 4, 1995, in New Ulm. She attended kindergarten at Springfield Public School in Mrs. Hoek's KA class. She attended dance at Anita Runck's Conservatory of Dance in Lamberton. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Evan, where she also attended Sunday school.

Fay Swenson, 90, of Winthrop, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at the Good Samaritan Center, Winthrop.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday, at the Evangelical Covenant Church, Winthrop, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation is 12-2 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Arrangements are handled by Dalin-Hantge Chapel.

Timothy Baune, 50, of Wabasso, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001 at his home.
Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan, with burial in St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery, Wabasso. A luncheon will follow the burial at the Wabasso Community Center.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the church.
The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Gretchen; daughters, Laura of Minneapolis, Jessica of St. Paul, and Sarah of rural Wabasso; mother, Margie Baune of Wabasso; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Pat Green of Burnsville, and JoAnn and Tom Green of Morgan; mother-in-law, Patricia Powell of Redwood Falls; and sisters-in-law and and their husbands, Penny and Roger Banwart of Mankato, Corinne Powell of Atlanta, Ga., and Jane and Ramone Sanchez of Redwood Falls.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edmund Baune; brothers, Nicholas and Peter, and father-in-law, Floyd E. Powell.
He was born Jan. 26, 1951, in Springfield, to Edmund E. and Margaret B. (Heiderscheidt) Baune. He attended Willmar Vo-Tech briefly before coming home to farm in a partnership with his father, after his brother's death. He married Gretchen Powell on April 24, 1976, at St. Anne's Catholic Church. He served as the treasurer on the Willow Lake Township Board. He also served on the board of directors at Meadowland, the Pork Producers board, and the education committee at St. Anne's.

Florence Schultz, 97, of Lafayette, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Arlington Municipal Hospital.
Funeral service is 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Lafayette with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the services at the church.

She is survived by her son, Elroy Schultz and his wife Paula of Farmington; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Schultz of Mission, Texas; grandchildren, Douglas, Brian, Gary, David, Elizabeth Schultz, Rebecca Baka; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great- grandchildren.
She was preced in death by her husband in March 1989; sons, Norwin "Rockie" Schultz, Vernal Schultz; daughter-in-law, Gloria Schultz; granddaughter, Suzanne Schultz; granddaughter-in-law, Sandra Schultz; and great-grandson, Patrick Schultz.
She was born Aug. 18, 1903, in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County, to Gust and Mathilda (Sandquist) Simonson, was born Aug. 18, 1903, in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County, where she spent her youth and attended Lafayette area schools. She married Walter Schultz on May 4, 1927, in New Ulm. They lived in New Ulm and Springfield and later farmed in Bernadotte Township for 39 years, retiring into Lafayette in 1979. Her husband died in March 1989. She became a resident of the Arlington Good Samaritan Center in September 2000. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Lafayette; ELCW, serving as secretary and treasurer; and the Lafayette American Legion Auxiliary.

Leon C. Schnobrich, 74, of St. Cloud, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Church in Sartell with burial in Assumption Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today at Daniel's Funeral Home in St. Cloud and on Saturday at the church, one hour before the service.
Memorials are preferred.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; son, Jeff and wife Linda of Waconia; daughters, Susan Anker and husband Dean of Pine Springs, Barbara Wellman and husband Christopher of Cataldo, Idaho, Debra and husband, Jim Schleper of St. Cloud, six grandchildren; brother, Roger Schnobrich and wife Angeline of Wayzata; sister-in-law, Helen Schnobrich of Annaheim, Calif., nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Amanda Schnobrich, and brother Donald Schnobrich.
He was born Feb. 18, 1927, in New Ulm, to Arthur and Amanda (Reinhart) Schnobrich. He spent much of his childhood in New Ulm before moving to the St. Cloud area. He married Kathryn Ziebol on July 20, 1949, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. He was a salesman for Schweigert Meat Company. He retired in 1991. He was a member of the VFW 428, Knights of Columbus, Eagles and American Legion.

Fay C. Swenson, 90, of Winthrop, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at the Good Samaritan Center.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Winthrop, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. Dalin-Hantge Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her nephews, Dennis Cheney and his wife Colleen, and Ronald Wines; great-nieces and great-nephews, Christine Cheney, Daniel Cheney, Linda Cheney and David Cheney; special friends, June and Ted Oman and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Minnie Cheney; husband, David Swenson; and brothers Arden, Chester, Max, and Wallace.
She was born Aug. 12, 1910, in Newell, Iowa, to Wallace and Minnie (Denton) Cheney. At age four, her family moved to southern Missouri where they stayed for some time before homesteading in Dewey County, Okla. In the fall of 1918, they moved to Winthrop.
She attended rural schools and graduated from the Winthrop High School in 1929. She completed teachers training in Mankato. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Mankato State College.
She married David L. Swenson on Oct. 11, 1936, in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They farmed in Bismarck Township until his death in 1963.She taught in rural schools and in Winthrop for fourth grade from 1955 to 1975. She compiled and edited the Winthrop Centennial Book in 1981. She was honored with the 1997 Award of Appreciation by the Winthrop Schools Alumni Association. She also received the WCCO Good Neighbor Award in 1997. She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Winthrop where she held various offices. She edited the church history books for the 90th and 100th anniversaries.

Merlan Redmann, 66, of Redwood Falls, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at the Redwood Falls Hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls, with burial with military honors in St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, of Redwood Falls, children, Julie of New Brighton, Lisa and Dan Groebner of Lake Crystal, and Mark and Yazmin of Cottage Grove; six grandchildren; and sister, Lavon Lingl of Bird Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and step-mother, Agnes.
He was born on Sept. 26, 1934, in Seaforth, to Fred and Ella (Schulz) Redmann. He was employed as a painter with Howard Berg. He also worked as a truck driver out of Morgan.
He married Shirley Duscher on June 8, 1957, in Morgan. He served in the Army from 1958 until 1960, first in Fort Lewis, Wa., and then in Ft. Sam, Houston, Texas, where he received special training as a medic.
After his discharge, he returned to Redwood Falls where he worked for the Redwood Falls Elevator. He was a self-employed carpet installer for 40 years, retiring in August 2000.
He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Dolores E. Steinhaus, 75, of 405 Seventh South St., New Ulm, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with burial in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue one hour prior to the time of service at church on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials go to the St. Paul's Parish Center or the American Cancer Society.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Melvin L. "Curly" Steinhaus, a resident of the Countryside Apartments in Sleepy Eye; daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Gary Krzmarzick of New Ulm and Karla and Rev. Michael Dietz of O'Fallon, Mo., four grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Imelda and Raymond Havemeier of New Ulm; and brothers-in-law, Percy Alfred of New Ulm, Harvey Steinhaus, a resident of the Franklin Care Center in Franklin, and Earl Steinhaus, a resident of the Countryside Apartments in Sleepy Eye. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Irene Alfred.
She was born Nov. 23, 1925 in Sleepy Eye to Albert and Ida (Grundmeyer) Knapp. She married Melvin Lloyd Steinhaus on June 21, 1946 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. After marriage they lived in New Ulm where she worked at the Wearwell Garments, Windings and then 3M until she retired in 1983. After retiring they moved to Pine River until returning to New Ulm in 1992. She was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm, the Ladies Aid and church choir, and the Seifert-Bianchi American Legion Post 132 Auxiliary in New Ulm.

Orville Brudelie, 91, of Sun Valley, Calif., and formerly of the Hanska area, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001.
Services are planned at Forest Lawn Drive, Calif., with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Leonor; two stepdaughters; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Alice Brudelie of Hanska, Warren and Shirley Brudelie of Hanska; sister and brother-in-law, Marge and Erwin Plaisance of New Ulm; Catherine Trammell of Pensacola, Fla., and Delphine Ohland of Rothschild, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; three sisters; and his first wife, Francis Brudelie.
He was born Sept. 21, 1909, in Lake Hanska Township, Brown County, to Olaf and Ann (Peterson) Brudelie. He graduated from Minnesota Agriculture School. He worked for Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, Calif., until retirement.

Robert L. Pieper, 71, of rural Hanska died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Firle Funeral Home, Hanska, and one hour prior to services at the church Thursday.
He is survived by his wife, Laura of Hanska; sons, Scott Pieper, Bryce Pieper, Britt Pieper and wife, Jeri; grandson, Chance Pieper, all of Hanska; sisters, Gwen Wolford of Estacada, Ore., Rosamond Groth of Two Harbors; sister-in-law, Lois Lenz and husband, Dale, of Fairmont; brother-in-law, Harlan Asche of Miss.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arthur, Rollie and Fred; sisters, Gertrude and Geraldine.
He was born June 2, 1929, in Fairmont, to Louis and Maybelle (Conlin) Pieper. He grew up in Martin County and attended Trimont area schools. He moved with his family to Oregon when he was a teen. He entered the U.S. Army in 1951, serving in Korea, receiving his honorable discharge in 1952. He married Laura Asche on May 26, 1956, in St. Peter. They lived in Estherville, Iowa, where he worked as a police officer. In 1957, the family moved to Madelia, where he served as police chief. He also worked for Meyer & Sons in Mankato for 30 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of Lake Hanska Lutheran Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Disabled American Veterans.

Walter Larson, 94, of Lamberton, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Valley View Manor, Lamberton.
Services will be 11 am. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Westbrook, with burial in the Westbrook Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the church. Westbrook Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
He is survived by his sisters, Anna Erickson of Westbrook, Alice and her husband, Orville Einertson of Storden; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Larson of Woodburn, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Florence and Lillian; and brothers, Alvin and Melvin.
He was born Sept. 24, 1906, at the family farm northeast of Westbrook, to Lewis and Mary (Mathiason). He grew up in the Westbrook area and attended school there. He spent most of his life farming. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Westbrook. He entered the Westbrook Good Samaritan Center on Dec. 30, 1993. He later entered St. John Nursing Home in Springfield. He then returned to the farm and until October 2000, when he entered Lamberton Valley View Manor.

Fredrikka (Finnson) Hovde, 88, formerly of Winthrop, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Hays Nursing Center in San Marcos.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pennington Memorial Chapel in San Marcos.
Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop with burial following at the Winthrop Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons Jon and Ann Hovde of San Marcos, Texas, Knut F.R. and Linda Hovde of Esko; grandchildren Wendy Hovde of San Marcos, Texas, Tim Hovde of Austin, Texas, Melissa Hovde of Bastrop, Texas, Jennifer Hovde and Nicholas Hovde, both of Minnesota and Charley Sautier, of Minnesota; four great-grandchildren; brother Oscar Finnson of Canada and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Dr. Rolf Hovde on April 10, 1965.
