Ronald Mossengren, 68, of Ormsby, died March 6, 2001, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center, St. James.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery in Odin.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James and continues hour hour before services Sunday at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Ormsby; daughter, Lu Ann and husband Steve Nelson of Fridley; sons, Randy and wife Vickie Mossengren of Cambridge, Ryan and wife Rose Mossengren of Isanti; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Joann and husband Ivan Eckstrom of Renville, Lois and husband Norman Randunz, Waco, Texas; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Aron Vanover, and one nephew, Bradley Hockel.
He was born Sep. 14, 1932, in Ormsby to the late Oscar and Ethel (Reiff) Mossengren. On Nov, 28, 1954, he married the former Shirley Vanover at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church of Odin. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean Conflict. He and his wife Shirley operated the Bradford Car Sales and Garage in Bradford, Minn. He was a member of the St. Olaf Lutheran Church of Odin.

Frederic H. Rosenow, 86, of Glencoe, formerly of Brownton, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at Glencoe Regional Health Services, Long Term Care, Glencoe.
Services were Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Brownton, with burial in Immanuel
Lutheran Cemetery, Brownton. Military Honors were given by the Brownton American Legion.
Hantge Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Alpha of Brownton; sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Linda of Hutchinson, and Bruce and Jackie of Hutchinson; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Willis Schwanke of New Auburn; eight grandchildren; sister, Grace Callier of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Ethel Decker of Hutchinson; brother-in-law and his wife, Norman and Donna Gehrke of rural Brownton; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Clara; brothers, Frank, William, Walter, and Harold; and sister, Minnie Henke.
He was born Sept. 27, 1914, in Collins Township, McLeod County, to Emil and Clara (Klein) Rosenow.
He owned a tavern by Lake Marion before he entered the Army in 1942. He served overseas in the European Theatre with 138th Evacuation Hospital for six months and was a Red Cross ambulance driver during WW II. Fred received the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the American Theater Service Medal. He was honorably discharged from the Army on Jan. 1, 1946.
He married Alpha Gehrke on Sept. 10, 1946, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. He was employed at Klammer Minkery at Lake Marion before moving to Brownton in 1971 where he worked at the Brownton Municipal Liquor Store.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, the Brownton American Legion, and the Hutchinson Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He became a resident of Glencoe Regional Health Services, Long Term Care Facility, on Oct. 1, 2000.

Marcus E. Schuster, 74, died Jan. 16, 2001, in Lakewood, Calif.
Services were Jan. 22, 2001 in Lakewood, with burial in Rose Hills Memorial Park.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and David Black, and Teresa and Roger Tidwell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob, Victor and Bernelda, and Andrew and Rosemary; sisters and brother-in-law, Alice and Frank Mance, and Marie Frechetto; and children Sharon and Danny from his first marriage.
He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, and parents Mike and Minnie, of New Ulm.
He was born on April 12, 1927, in New Ulm, to Mike and Minnie Schuster.
He graduated from Trinity High Class of 1945 and served in the Navy during WWII on the USS Missouri. He graduated from Mankato Commercial College and then was employed by John Morrell and Co. as a salesman. He later moved to California where he was a tire salesman for Sears Robuck in Buena Park for 20 years.

Lorraine Eldoris Engelkens, 80, died March 9, 2001, at the Windom Area Hospital in Windom.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey, with burial in the Faith Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Sturm Funeral Home Chapel in Comfrey. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her daughter Darlene Arnsdorf of Comfrey, daughter-in-law Gloria Thomsen of Princeton; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Ike Erickson of Comfrey; and sisters-in-law Eileen Fredin of Comfrey and Ann "Tootie" Fredin of Windom.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John in 1985, son Dennis in 1971; brothers Raymond and Merlin, and sister Deloris, in infancy.
She was born Dec. 17, 1920, in Comfrey to Maurice and Esther (Johnson) Fredin. She was a lifelong resident of Comfrey. After her schooling, she worked at Wagner Grocery Store.
She married John Engelkens on Feb. 3, 1942. They lived on a farm south of Comfrey. They bought the Eat Shoppe in 1947 and moved to Comfrey in September 1976. She sold the cafe to her daughter Darlene in 1977 and semi-retired.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, now New Hope Lutheran Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary of the Albin Johnson Post 244.

Alice Streeter, 91, died Friday, March 9, 2001, at the Tracy Nursing Home, Tracy.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 12, at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Westbrook, with burial at the Westbrook Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Jacobson Funeral Home in Walnut Grove.
The Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Donald and LaVonne of Bunker Hill, Ind., daughters, Mildred Mershon of Wells, Carol Passer of Crystal, and Annette Foster of Walnut Grove; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Alice Lindstrom of Slayton, and Phyllis Lee of Big Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, and five brothers and a sister.
She was born on the family farm in Murray County.
She attended Minneapolis Business College for one year.
She married John LeRoy Streeter on Sept. 25, 1929, in Dovray Township, Murray County. He died Jan. 23, 1991.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Westbrook.

Alex. J. Herlick, 92, of 400 Monument St., New Ulm, died Friday, March 9, 2001, at the New Ulm Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm, with burial in the Catholic Cemetery, New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Monday and 7:30 - 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, New Ulm. The St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m. and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m., both Monday at the funeral home.
He is survived by son, John, of Fargo, N.D. sisters and brother-in-law, Marie "Dottie" Welch of Robbinsdale, Collette and Stuart Groebner of New Ulm, and Carol McGrath of St. Paul; and sisters-in-law, Lois Bode and her husband, Loren "Pete" of New Ulm, and Erna (Hose) Pelzel of Sleepy Eye.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bertha, on June 2, 1998; sister, Veronica Herlick; and brothers, Arthur, Anton "Tony", and Randolf.
He was born on Nov. 26, 1908, in New Ulm, to Anton and Josephine (Kachelmeier) Herlick. He married Bertha Hose on Oct. 20, 1941,at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth. After marriage they moved to New Ulm.
He was cashier at the Klossner State Bank, Klossner, for twenty five years. He served as secretary/treasurer of the Klossner Coop Creamery, Klossner, from 1945 to 1970. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, past president of the St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council, and an original board member of Cathedral High School, New Ulm.

Gordon E. Davis, 85, of Redwood Falls, died Friday, March 9, 2001, at the Sunwood Good Samaritan Home, Redwood Falls.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Morton, with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
He is survived by special friend Elaine Barnes of Redwood Falls; and children, Gordon David Davis of Hudson, Wis., Shari Ness of Redwood Falls, Linda and Ken Winter of Phoenix, Ariz., Michelle Davis of Sanborn and Kevin and Jodi Davis of North St. Paul; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Ed Frank of Redwood Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Myrtle, in 1979 and six siblings, two in infancy and Edith, William, Howard and Mildred.
He was born July 4, 1915, in Renville County, to Edward and Freda (Graffenberger) Davis.
He married Myrtle Gaffney on August 26, 1940, at Dodge Center, Iowa. He farmed with his father and then worked for Central Bi-Products. He bought the family farm in the early 1940s. He retired from farming in 1978 but remained on the farm doing parttime jobs. He was a handyman for the Valley Supper Club for several years.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Morton and had served on the Beaver Falls Township Board.

Lunita M. Borth, 94, of Fairfax, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at the Fairfax Community Home.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Wellington Township, Renville County, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is one hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Borth-Wilbur of Menomonie, Wis.; and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alwin Borth in 1990; son, Ellard Borth in 1970; sisters, Ida Dallman, Lydia Paschke and Martha Kiecker; and by brothers, William and Elmer Fritz.
She was born Jan. 26, 1907, in Wellington Township, Renville County, to Frank and Bertha (Loessin) Fritz. She married Alwin Borth on Nov. 19, 1928, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Wellington Township, Renville, County. They farmed in Sibley, County. They moved to Spring Valley, Wis., where they farmed until retiring and moving to Fairfax in 1990. She had been a resident of the Fairfax Community Home since 1997.
She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Wellington Township, Renville County, and the Ladies Aid.
In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials to the Emanuel Lutheran Church.

Ralph Bleck, 84, of Buffalo Lake, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Hector.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Hughes Funeral Home, Hector, and continues for one hour prior to services at the church Wednesday.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Bleck; sons, Richard Bleck and wife, Linda, of Waconia, Charles Bleck and wife, Judy, of Buffalo Lake, Gregory Bleck and wife, Ellen, of Chaska; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clinton Bleck; and a sister, Gladys Madsen.
He was born May 26, 1916, in Hector, to Albert and Clara (Wenz) Bleck. He grew up in the Hector area and graduated from Hector High School. He married Ellen Nelson on Dec. 30, 1939, at the Methodist parsonage in Hector. They farmed in Hector Township until retiring in 1979. They then moved to Buffalo Lake.
He was a member of United Methodist Church, Hector, and served on the church board. He also served on the Buffalo Lake creamery board.

Mary Schaffran, 93 of Mankato, formerly of Lucan, died Friday, March 9, 2001, at Laurel's Edge Assisted Living Center in Mankato.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Johnsonville Township, Redwood County.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Sunset Funeral Home in Wabasso and continues Saturday one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a prayer service Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are preferred to the Green Lake Bible Camp at Spicer or the Trinity Lutheran Church in Johnsonville Township in lieu of flowers.
She is survived by her children, Roger Schaffran and his wife Joyce of Lake Crystal, and Betty Kay Otsea and her husband Robert of North Mankato; grandchildren, JoEllen Schaffran of North Mankato, Robin Zinn and her husband Chris of St. Louis Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; brothers, John, Conrad, and William Hess; and sisters, Barbara Weimann, Catherine Malmstrom, and Elizabeth Meyer.
Mary (Marie) Elizabeth Schaffran was born Nov. 18, 1907 in Waterbury Township, Redwood County, to Jacob and Barbara (Bock) Hess. She attended country school in Waterbury Township. She worked in Mankato in the 1920s. On June 15, 1938, she married Robert Ernest Schaffran in the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Waterbury Township. They settled on the farm near Lucan where she lived until moving into assisted living in the Mankato area in November 1998. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Johnsonville Township, where she served as Sunday School superintendent from 1945 until 1960. She was also the Lutheran Brotherhood local coordinator and was a correspondent for the Redwood Gazette, the Lamberton News, and the Wabasso Standard from 1938 until 1998.

Dawn Delgado, 39, died Saturday, March 10, 2001 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.
Services will be held in Martindale, Texas, with burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Martindale, Texas.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dobratz-Hantge Chapel, Hutchinson.
She is survived by her father, Cliff Roiger of Hutchinson.

Frieda Schiroo, 83, of Buffalo Lake, died Monday, March 12, 2001, at Hutchinson Care Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and one hour before the service Saturday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake.
Hughes Funeral Home handled arrangements.
She is survived by her son Roger and his wife Kathy of Buffalo Lake; daughter Lois and husband Lowell Grams of Gaylord; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jason Schiroo and Dan Grams; sister, Renate Anderson of Rush City; sisters-in-law, Agnes Krosting, Louisa Krosting of Pilot Rock, Ore., Beverly Reese of Pilot Rock, Ore., Esther Krosting of St. Paul; Evelyn Schiroo of Gaylord, Vanna Schiroo of Winthrop; brothers-in-law, Herman Schiroo and wife Margaret of Hutchinson, Walter Rickheim of Winthrop;and nieces and nephews,.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence; brothers, Paul, Renold, Felix Rudy and Laverne Krosting; sisters; Alma and her husband Daryl Johnson and Regina and husband Fred Kemple; and other relatives.
She was born on Sept. 16, 1917, at Arlington to Paul and Elizabeth (Hagen) Krosting.
She married Clarence C. Schiroo on June 8, 1941, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. They farmed in rural Brownton, Stewart and Buffalo Lake. In 1981 they retired in Buffalo Lake.
