Floyd Werner, 82, of Buffalo Lake, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Zion United Methodist Church, and will continue one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are handled by Hughes Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Werner of Buffalo Lake; sons: Mike Werner and his wife Joann of Waconia, Tom Werner of Globe, Ariz., and Chuck Werner and his wife Natalie of Buffalo Lake; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Ulrich of New Hope; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
He was born Oct. 6, 1918, in rural Buffalo Lake to Archie and Cassie (Fischer) Werner. He attended school in Buffalo Lake. He married Mildred Johnson on April 4, 1943, at the Evangelical Church in Buffalo Lake. They lived in rural Buffalo Lake and later moved into town. They farmed for many years, and he worked at the Farmers Co-op Elevator for 14 years. He retired in 1983. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Rod and Gun Club, and Joe's Learning Center. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake where he served as a trustee and an usher. He was active with the United Methodist Brotherhood. He was a past 4-H leader.

Roman O. Schreyer, 96, of Mankato, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Laurel's Edge in Mankato.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 421 N. Second St., Mankato, with burial in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Drive; and continues one hour before services Friday at the church.

Beryl Berry, 89, of Jeffers, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Valley View Manor, Lamberton.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Anderson-Schmidt Funeral Home, Jeffers with burial in Jeffers Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Margaret C. Schiroo, 79, of Hutchinson and formerly of rural Stewart, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at her home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Fernando, rural Stewart, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at Hughes Funeral Home in Stewart and continues one hour before services Saturday at the church.

Esther Fenske, 61, of Belle Plaine and formerly of Gaylord, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
Services are 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Belle Plaine, with burial at 11 a.m. Friday at Arlington Public Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. until services Thursday at the church.
Fenske-Hayes Funeral Home of Belle Plaine is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband Ronald of Belle Plaine; son: Jerrad of New York, N.Y.; brother, Darwin Sylvester of Rogers; sister-in-law, Ellen Sylvester of LeCenter; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Sylvia in infancy.
She was born May 6, 1939, to Edwin and Thusnelda (Frauendienst) Sylvester in Gaylord. She attended school at St. John's Mountville and graduated from Gaylord High School in 1957. She attended Mankato Commercial College and worked for the Sibley County Welfare Department. She married Ronald J. Fenske on Sept. 26, 1960, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mountville, rural Gaylord. She worked for the Martin Marrietta Corp. which installed the Titan Missiles in Arizona, the University of Minnesota hydraulic lab on the Mississippi River, Sioux Trails Mental Health Center in New Ulm, and Control Data Corp. in Minneapolis. She also managed the Fenske Funeral Home offices in Belle Plaine, Arlington, and Gaylord. She was a member of the Arlington V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 6031, the Belle Plaine American Legion Auxiliary Post 144, Trinity Ladies Aid, and the Sierra Club.

Milan Grimm, 75, Buffalo Lake, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church in Osceola Township, rural Hector with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and continues one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel, Buffalo Lake; sons, Lee Grimm and wife Nancy of Woodbury, Jack Grimm and wife Gayle of Buffalo Lake, Charles Crimm and wife Jean of Stewart, George Grimm of Hector, and Timothy Grimm of Stewart; daughters, Zelda Baysinger and husband Roger of Buffalo Lake, Dorene Otto and her husband Scott of Hutchinson, Nola Schwarzrock and husband Gary of Hutchinson; three grandchildren; brother, Lowell "Curly" Grimm and his wife Catherine of Hector.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one brother.
Milan Leroy Grimm was born June 7, 1925, to Fred and Ella Grimm He attended rural school and graduated from Hector High School. He served in the U. S. Army. He married Ethel (Rinde) Grimm on Aug. 22, 1953. He farmed in rural Hector and worked in road construction.

Thomas 'Tom' Brey, 57 of Winthrop died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, a Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the St. George Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Full military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the Winthrop Honor Guard.
Visitation is noon until time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.
He is survived by a special friend, Rose Severin of Winthrop; aunt and uncle, Laura and Edwin Kral of rural New Ulm and an uncle, Harold Berdan of New Ulm; also by several cousins; brothers-in-law, Joe, Jerry, Bernie, Donald, and Jim Hirman; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elroy and Rose Hirman of Willmar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Gretchen; and a brother, David.
He was born Aug. 26, 1943, in New Ulm to Anton and Elsie (Altmann) Brey. He attended Lafayette Elementary School in Lafayette and the New Ulm Public High School. In December of 1969 he married Dorothy Hirman in Raymond. He served in the United States National Guard in New Ulm for several years. He worked for Roman Franta Construction in Lafayette, as a carpenter in Minneapolis for more than 30 years and at Knox Lumber in Minneapolis until his retirement, when he then moved to Winthrop. He was a member of the American Legion in Winthrop. He was a part owner of an airplane and had his private pilot license.

Walter 'Wally' Fesenmaier, 79, of 719 Fourth South St., in New Ulm died Monday, April 2, 2001, at the Fairfax Community Nursing Home.
Mass of Christian burial is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm veterans organizations.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home. There will be a parish prayer service at 6 p.m., and the Knights of Columbus will pray the rosary at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Fran Fesenmaier of New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Richard Duncan of Fairfax, Virginia, and Susan and Patrick Keim of New Ulm; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, and Sara Keim; sister, Dolores Fisch of New Ulm; and brother-in-law, Charles Griebel of New Ulm; and also by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Jane Griebel.
He was born Aug. 8, 1921, in New Ulm to George and Clara (Leitschuh) Fesenmaier. He graduated from New Ulm Public High School in 1940. On Feb. 17, 1944, he married Fran Fisch at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for Claus Implement for 15 years, Blue Cross Blue Shield for 12 years, and from 1969 to 1983 he was co-owner and operator of the New Ulm Mobile Home Village. He was a volunteer with the Chamber of Commerce for 18 years. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, Knights of Columbus St. Patrick's Council 1076, and a lifetime and 50-year member of the American Legion Post 132 in New Ulm. He belonged to the New Ulm Lions Club.

Sandra Pabst, 57, of Norman, Okla., died April 2, 2001, at Norman Hospital.
Services are at noon Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Sanborn, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is one hour before services Saturday at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Miles of Norman, Okla.; parents, Raymond and Nina Cowan of Brownwood, Texas; sister, Anita Lawson of Fayetteville, Ark.; parents-in-law, Albert and Esther Pabst of Sanborn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Brian and Cheryl of Sanborn, Ralph and Karen of Sanborn, Roxanne and Edward Cohrs of Sanborn, and Pauline Arzani of Morgan; nieces and nephews.
She was born March 30,1944, in Brownwood, Texas, to Raymond and Nina (Brown) Cowan. She grew up in Wingate and graduated from high school in Winters, Texas. She attended Harden Simmons University in Abeline, Texas; California State University, Long Beach, Calif.; and University of Oklahoma. She earned master's degrees in media relations and early childhood development. She taught at Wilson Elementary School in Norman from 1970-2001, and for the past six years served as school counselor.

Mary M. Wiebold, 47, rural Mankato, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour prior to services at the church Saturday.
She is survived by her husband, Loren Wiebold of rural Mankato; daughter, Kristina Wiebold; stepchildren and their spouses, Scott and Lisa Wiebold of Asheville, N.C., Tim and Jenni Wiebold of Stillwater, Wade and Melynda Wiebold of Rosemount, Laura and Neil Johnson of Prior Lake; six grandchildren; parents, Ralph and Mary Ireland, Mankato; brothers and their wives, Dan and Marie Ireland, Tim and Connie Ireland, Frank and Abby Ireland, all of Mankato; sister and her husband, Sarah and Jim Boxrud of Mankato.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and one aunt.
Mary Margaret Wiebold was born Dec. 18, 1953, in Mankato to Ralph and Mary (Hunziker) Ireland. She graduated from St. Clair High School and obtained degrees from Mankato State University. She married Loren Wiebold on Sept. 14, 1991, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mapleton.
She worked as a park ranger for the U.S. Corps of Engineers in Cross Lake. She was a Mankato Police Reserve Officer, Blue Earth County dispatcher and Blue Earth County deputy sheriff. She was most recently employed as a Watonwan County fraud investigator. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair.
Memorials are preferred to St. Mary's School in Madelia or an organization of the donor's choice.

Todd Hager, 30, of rural New Ulm, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Oakwood United Methodist Church in New Ulm with burial in the City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30- 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and continues one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday.
He is survived by his parents, Ray and Sally Hager of rural New Ulm; brother and sister-in-law, Randy Hager and Rosemarie Rodriguez-Hager of Minneapolis; sister and brother-in-law, Vicky and Tim Harmening of rural Courtland; two nephews; one niece; aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Raymond Todd Hager was born on March 12, 1971, in New Ulm to Raymond and Marcella (Sellner) Hager. He graduated from New Ulm High School in 1989. He attended Jackson Technical College where he graduated with honors in 1991. He had worked for Design Home Center in New Ulm. He started his own business as a carpenter building homes and garages and general construction. He was currently employed at 3M in New Ulm. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by son, Ken and wife Janet Berry of St. Louis Park; daughter, Cindy and husband Jerry Tews of Hutchinson; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and three sisters.
She was born in Jeffers on Nov. 27, 1911, to Edward and Emma (Whiteman) Schmotzer. She married Charles Berry in Windom on Jan. 16, 1933. She worked at the Jeffers School as a cook and a waitress in several restaurants in Jeffers.

Mabel Hoehne, 90, of Lamberton, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Valley View Manor, Lamberton.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Church of Christ, Lamberton, with burial in Lamberton Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton, and at the church, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her husband, Milton of Lamberton; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Janet of Roseville, Dale and Ann of Butterfield, Dennis and Joyce of Windom; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry Pooch and George Pooch, both of Lamberton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Floyd Halter of Redwood Falls, Gladys Leopold of Sanborn; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Phyllis; brothers, Leslie and Delmar Pooch; and sister, Alice Krinke.
She was born Aug. 4, 1910, in Highwater Township, rural Cottonwood County, to William and Amelia (Pankonin) Pooch. She grew up on a farm and attended School Dist. 28. On Sept. 12, 1934, she married Milton Hoehne in Lamberton. The couple farmed in Highwater Township from 1934 -1954, Germantown Township from 1954 -1988, when they retired in Lamberton. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Lamberton, the Christian Workers and Christian Manor Auxiliary in Tracy.

Roman O. Schreyer, 97, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Laurel's Edge Assisted Living facility in Mankato.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato, with burial at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Mankato Mortuary and at the church one hour prior to service.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; sons and their wives, Lowell and Margaret and Gene and Grace, all of Mankato; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; stepdaughter, Janet Zeiss of Minnetonka Beach; stepson, Gayle Zeise of the Twin Cities; five stepgrandchildren; brother, Gilbert of New Ulm; sisters, Luverna Juni of New Ulm and Orlean Anderson of Sleepy Eye; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, three brothers and two sisters.
He was born April 17, 1904, in Milford Township in rural New Ulm to Otto and Clara Schreyer. He attended the high school department of Dr. Martin Luther College. He began working for the Minnesota Department of Transportation in 1925. In 1948 he was transferred to the Mankato district headquarters and worked as a heavy equipment operator until retiring in 1969. He received numerous commendations for highway section quality and safety awards for accident-free vehicle operation.
On April 17, 1928, he married Irma Fritsche in New Ulm. After her death, he married Myrtle Zeise on Jan. 22, 1976, in Mankato. They lived in Brownton until moving to Mankato in 1996. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Mankato, where he served on the council, finance board and the original Immanuel Lutheran High School board of education.

Louis Weerts, 88, of Springfield, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Springfield, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30 a.m. to noon Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, and continues at the church Friday, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Redwood Falls; sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Viola of Springfield, Gerald and Linda of Lake Park, Iowa; Steve and Patty of Shawano, Wis.; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jim Jenzen of Springfield and Lois and Stephen Remmert of Miami, Fla., and Marilyn and Orlin Palm of Blue Earth; three grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ella DeGroat of Bruce, S.D., Laura Amert of Madison, S.D.; and a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Margaret of Eau Claire, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elsia in 1962; a great-granddaughter; brothers Arnold, Gerhardt, Martin and Albert; and sisters, Esther Lindholm and Helen Crane.
He was born May 12, 1912, in Naper, Neb., to Frank and Ida (Eichmann) Weerts. He moved with his family to Wentworth, S.D. as a child, graduating from high school as valedictorian of his class in 1931. He worked as a farm hand in Springfield area. On Feb. 20, 1938, he married Elsia Mueller in Springfield. They moved to a farm near Mahnomen and returned to the Springfield area in the mid 1940s. He moved to Springfield following the death of his wife Elsia in 1963. On September 15,1985, he married Betty Crooks at Morton. He was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Springfield and a former member of the Lutheran Layman's League.
