Ann M. Minnaert, 62, of Hastings died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at her home of cancer.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St. in Hastings with burial in the parish cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 7th St. East in Hastings with a parish vigil service at 4 p.m. There will also be visitation Saturday at the church from 9-10 a.m.
She is survived by her husband, DuWayne of Hastings; sons Mike Mennaert and wife Kristi of Hastings, Mitch Minnaer and wife Hong Van of Inver Grove Heights; four granddaughters, Megan, Samantha, Alexandria and Mikayla; and mother Emma Gewerth of Augustana Home in Hastings.
She was preceded in death by her father George Gewerth.
She was born Oct. 4, 1938, in New Ulm, to George & Emma M. (Rewitzer) Gewerth. She graduated from high school in New Ulm in 1956. She graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in 1957. She married DuWayne Minnaert on Dec. 27, 1960, in New Ulm. They have lived in Hastings since 1964. For 17 years she was employed at Hastings Senior High School as secretary for the athletic director. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Parish in Hastings.

Melvin Puchta, 79, of Springfield, died Wednesday, April 26, 2001, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Chapel, Springfield, with burial in Springfield City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and John Turek of Carver; sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney (Ron) and Shiela of Manteca, Calif., Charles (Chuck) and Becky of Cleveland; Steven and fiancee Kim Strode of LeCenter; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Gilbert and Marlys of Ankeny, Iowa; sisters and a brother-in-law, Vera Renner and Luverda Mattson of Springfield and Lucille and Marvin Martius of Byron.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gertrude Roiger; and four brothers in infancy.
He was born Oct. 15, 1921, in Stately Township, Brown County, to Charles and Sarah (Brown) Puchta. He attended country school and lived in Springfield area the majority of his life. On Aug. 26, 1942, he entered the U.S. Army, fighting in major battles during World War II, in Central Europe and Ardennes. He was taken prisoner during the Battle of the Bulge in Ardennes. He was a POW from Dec. 23, 1944, until May 4, 1945. He was awarded medals for the American Campaign, Bronze Star, Prisoner of War, Combat Infantry, Purple Heart, Overseas Service, four Bronze Stars for service in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, the Red Badge of Courage, MIA-POW, Good Conduct and World War II Victory. After his discharge from the Army he served in the National Guard for 33 years. On Aug. 24, 1942, he married Vera Karow at Christ Lutheran Church in Stately Township. They later divorced. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and John Watson American Legion Post 257.

Phillip E. Rein, 61, of Chisago Lakes, April 25, 2001 at Fairview Lakes Hospital, Wyoming, Minn.
Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at the Church of St. Bernard, 197 W. Geranium, St. Paul. Burial will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, following the mass.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 1, at Bradshaw Funeral and Cremation Services, 1078 Rice Street, St. Paul, from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
He was preceded in death by parents, John and Dora, brother, Dennis, sisters, Doris Gleisner and LaVonne Poeschl.
He is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Cletus and Helen, John and Loretta, Kenneth and Georgia, Thomas and Linda, Everett and Gloria, Kevin and Gail; sisters, Sister Jonelle Rein, SSND, Mary and husband Ben Schmitz; brother-in-law, Jerry Poeschl; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was born Oct. 28, 1939, in Linden Township, Brown County, Minnesota to John and Dora Grathwohl Rein.

James 'Jim' Fred Meine, of Springfield, died April 26, 2001, at Springfield Medical Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Springfield, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-10 a.m. Monday a Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield,. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Meine of Springfield; sons, Ricky and wife Angle Meine of Clements, Ronnie Meine of Springfield; daughter, Roxane and husband Curt Baumann of Springfield; grandchildren, Amanda Meine and Jordan Meine; brothers and sisters, Roger and wife Janice Meine of Springfield, Judy and husband Willie Koss of Dodge Center, Joanne and husband Sam Jenkins of Blooming Prairie, Janice and husband Ron Lindemoen of Vadnais Heights, Patricia and husband Gary Robinson of St, Paul; stepfather, Robert Steinhaus of Rochester; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Norb and wife Patricia Walter of Texas, Rose and husband Linus Nachreiner of New Ulm, Mary and husband Patrick Portner of New Ulm, Linda and husband Alan Richter of New Ulm, Donna and husband Dennis Myers of Spicer, Eugene and wife Karen Walter of St. James, Alphonse Walter of St. James, Tim and wife Angie Walter of Roseville and Douglas and wife Lucy Sondag of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville Meine and Betty Steinhaus; and grandparents, Henry and Clara Meine and Arnie and Marie Albertson.
He was born March 1, 1942, in Springfield to Orville A. and Betty (Albertson) Meine. He attended school in Springfield. He worked at Ochs Brick and Tile where he was loading foreman for the last 40 years. He was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield

Irene Palmer, 81, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at her home.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the church service.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 4, at First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls, with a private family interment at a later date.
Redwood Valley Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, is handling arrangements.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the church service.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Becky Corcoran of Portland, Ore., Bob and Cheryl Corcoran of Des Moines, Iowa; stepdaughters, Joyce Wissink and family of Lake Elmo, Carol and William Swigart and family of Collegeville, Texas; three grandchildren; brother-in-law, Marvin and wife Doris Palmer of Redwood Falls; sister-in-law, Betty Larsen of Redwood falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, and brother Derald.
She was born on Nov. 28, 1919, to John and Dorothy Juergens in Storm Lake, Iowa. She moved to Redwood Falls with her family as a young child. She graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1937. She worked at Forsters Furniture, Redwood Falls Motor Co. and Production Credit Association of Redwood Fa11s for more than 30 years until she retired. She served as curator of the Redwood County Museum. She married Edward Corcoran Jr. in 1939, who died in 1965; Robert Leadholm in 1967, who died in 1976 and Milo Palmer in 1978, who died in 1981.

Kim M. Tabbert, 42 of Inver Grove Heights, MN (Gaylord graduation class of 1977), passed away on April 15th, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kim was preceded in death by his father, Melvin, owner of Tabbert Oil Co of Gaylord & Arlington. Kim is survived by his wife, Polly and children Daniel, Jacob and Rebecca; Mother Gloria of Gaylord; sisters RaNae Drexler of Gaylord, Cindy (Tom) Jennings of Deerfield N.H., Julie (Ron) Schwint of Brandon S.D.; Father & Mother-in-law Curt & Myrna Kroening of Rochester, brother & sister-in-law, Penny, Tom (Brenda), Kimberly and Jon Kroening; also nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18th at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Inver Grove Heights. Officiated by Rev. John McEachran, Pastor of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery. A lunch followed at Kim's home church; Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. 7239E. 70th Street, Inver Grove Heights. Memorials preferred to Mt. Bethel UMC Building Fund.
Kim was employed with Twist Company of Minneapolis as an Technical Sales Engineer. Kim was an active member of the Inver Grove Heights community; Kim was Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church Administrative Board Chairperson and took special interest in Mt. Bethel's new Sanctuary project. He was the current treasurer of the IGH Wrestling Club and past treasurer of Cub Scout Pack 507. He actively attended his children's wrestling matches, dance competitions, cross-country meets, soccer games, baseball & 7fast pitch ball games and music concerts. Kim loved to fish with family and friends. A special thank you to Allina Hospice. Cancer can do many things but it has limits. It can't cripple love, shatter hope, corrode faith, destroy peace, kill friendship, suppress memories, silence courage, invade the soul or conquer the Spirit.

Flora (Mrs. Eldon) Dolly, 80, of 715 S. German St., Ridgeway on German, New Ulm died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at her home.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery, New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Christian Mothers Society will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Cathedral and there will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Eldon Dolly of New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Don Steinhaus, Kathy and Steve Weyer, and Mary and Charles Koch, all of New Ulm; son and daugher-in-law, Jerry and Carol Dolly of Eden Prairie; daughter-in-law, Rosie Dolly of New Ulm; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and sister, Virginia Boettger of New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, Ralph Boettger, and sons, Ronald in 1968 and Thomas in 2001.
She was born Aug. 7, 1920, in New Ulm, to Rudolph and Anna (Beyer) Hauer. She attended Holy Trinity Catholic School in New Ulm. She married Eldon Dolly on Feb. 3, 1942, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. Prior to her marriage she worked as a seamstress for the LaMode Dress Making Shop, New Ulm. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society and the Turner Ladies Society, all in New Ulm.

Gordon Hagen, 67, of Morgan, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at the Redwood Area Hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home, Morgan, with burial in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, Gilfillan.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by a half-sister, Doris Zihnow of Olivia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, step-father, half-brother and half-sister.
He was born March 17, 1934 in Minneapolis, to Oliver and Frances (Jensen) Hagen. He attended country school near Morgan and Sleepy Eye High School. He did construction work in Sleepy Eye, Minneapolis and Morgan and at the sugar beet plant in Renville.

Harvey A. Steinhaus, 84, of 714 N. Spring St. in New Ulm died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at the Franklin Healthcare Center in Franklin.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, with burial in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm. Full military graveside honors will be conducted by New Ulm veterans organizations.
Visitation will one hour prior to services Monday, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
He is survived by sister, Eleanor Harmening of New Ulm; brothers, Earl and Melvin, both residents of the Countryside Apartments in Sleepy Eye; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Ervin.
He was born Sept. 26, 1916 in Clements, to Henry and Amelia (Zamzow) Steinhaus. He served in the Army during WWII in Alaska. After he was discharged, Harvey was self employed as a carpenter until he retired in 1992. He was a member of the Seifert-Bianchi American Legion Post 132 and The Veterans of Foreign Wars Alfred Naegel Post 1648, both in New Ulm. Harvey had been a resident of the Franklin Healthcare Center since November 2000.

Henry Lentz, 86, of Gaylord, died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at the Sibley Medical Center, Arlington.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Gaylord, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Fenske Family Funeral Home, Gaylord, and at the church Monday, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Sheldon & Karen Lentz of Pillager; a daughter and son-in-law, Eileen & Harold Pauly of Redwood Falls; four grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna Kremer of Watertown, S.D., Beatrice Koester of Glencoe, Marilyn and Myron Bandow of Gibbon, Barbara and Ronald Rieke of Gibbon and Evelyn Herschman of Glendale.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Emilie (Oct. 99); a sister Alma Duenow; and three brothers, Otto, Bill, and Dan Lentz
He was born Jan. 20, 1915 in Henry, S.D. to Edward & Mabel (Jaehn) Lentz. He attended Codington County School in Henry. He married Emilie Hansch Nov. 24, 1944 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. From 1968-1980, he worked in construction and drainage for Eric Johson prior to operating his own business; Drainage Inc. in Winthrop. He also worked with Gaylord Development and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Gilbert Griepentrog, 73, of New Ulm, died Friday, April 27, 2001, at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm, with burial at a later date in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
There will be no visitation or reviewal. Firle Funeral Home of New Ulm is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by sisters, Alvina Kleman of North Mankato, and Gertrude Jones of New Ulm; special niece, Lori Wehrwein, her husband R.E. and their children Derek and Connor, of New Ulm, and other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers-in-law.
He was born May 22, 1927 in Mission, S.D., to Gustav and Ida (Brei) Griepentrog. He moved with his family to Minnesota in 1938, and worked for the Brown County Highway Department for many years. He lived at Sunset Apartments and then Ridgeway on German in New Ulm, moving to Luther Memorial Home in Madelia in January 2001. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of New Ulm.
Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.

Dean Heimendinger, 84, of Lamberton, died Friday, April 27, 2001, at Valley View Manor, Lamberton.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Walnut Grove City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Dean of Des Plaines, Ill. and Gene Lee of Spice Wood, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gene Kieper of Stillwater, a special niece Dianne and her husband Arlin Anderson of Walnut Grove; a grandson; great nieces and nephews; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo and wife Grace of Pardeeville, Wis., and Ray and Ethel of Minneapolis.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Gladys in 1980 and a brother Russell Jr.
He was born Feb. 3, 1917 to Russell and Mayme Heimendinger in South Dakota. He graduated from Fulda High School in 1934 and farmed in the Fulda area for a number of years. He married Stella Maciolek and in 1945 started working for Interstate Power in Fulda. He moved to Minneapolis and worked at the Schweigert meat packing plant. He married Gladys Reese on Nov. 30, 1973 in Walnut Grove. The couple retired and moved to Lamberton in 1978. He was a member of the Fides Masonic Lodge 246, the Eastern Star and a Boy Scout leader.

Jane Price, 48, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001.
Services were Thursday, April 26, 2001, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Kaukauna, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her mother Dorothy of Kimberly, Wis., six brothers, three sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, a huge Christian family, many colleagues and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and a nephew.
She was born Jan. 21, 1953 in Appleton, Wis. to Dorothy (Schroeder) and the late Raymond A. Price. She graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College, New Ulm, in 1976. She received her masters from Southwest State University in 1997. She was assigned to Immanuel Lutheran School, Hadar, Neb., in 1976. She also taught at St. John's Lutheran School, Redwood Falls, which she helped establish. Her present call was to Trinity Lutheran School, Kaukauna, where she has been teaching the last five years.

Louie Ricke, 95, of Morgan, died on Friday, April 27, 2001 at Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Morgan and Monday at the church, one hour prior to the service. A parish prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife Rose; two children; Leroy Wilhelmi and wife Marcella of Morgan and Paul Wilhelmi and wife Lucille of Sleepy Eye; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two sisters, Louise Butt of Sleepy Eye and Eleanor Jemmings of Morgan.
He was preceded in death by a son, Francis; a daughter, Patricia; four brothers; and three sisters.
He was born on Jan. 29, 1906 in St. Leo to Frank and Johanna (Siemer) Ricke. The family to moved Morgan and he attended St. Michael's Schools. He married Rose (Zweber) Wilhelmi on Feb. 9, 1932 at New Market. He did road work at Belle Plaine before moving to Morgan in 1935. He farmed with his dad and then on his own. In 1971 Louie and Rose retired from farming and moved to Morgan. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
