James Hopman, 70, of Red Wing, died Monday, June 25, 2001, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Goodhue with burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and continue Thursday one hour prior to the time of services at the church.
Mahn Family Funeral Home handled arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Red Wing; children, Christine (John) Beckmann of Wabasha, Beth (Keith) Madsen of Goodhue, David Hopman of Red Wing, Linmarie (David) Cataract of Red Wing, Sara (Brad) Ramthun of Eagan and Heidi (Rodney) Arnold of Myrtle Beach, SC; 14 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and one sister, Dorothy (Duane) Bode of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Linda Hopman.
He was born March 7, 1931, in Odin, to Albert and Della (Wacker) Hopman.
He was a graduate of Dr. Martin Luther High School and College in New Ulm.
He married Dorothy Goelz on Aug. 3, 1952, in Cudahy, Wis.
They lived in Menomonie, Wis. where he was the principal and techers at St. Paul's Lutheran School.
He was also the church organist and music director.
They moved to rural Goodhue in 1958. He was principal and teacher at St. John's Parochial School.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Goodhue, where be served as choir director and organist for 30 years retiring in 1983.
He continued working as choir director and organist after retirement.

Hulda Witte, 93, of Hector, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector with burial in the Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Thursday at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, and continues for one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
She is is survived by her children Eileen (John) Raforth, Donna (Herb Nelson) Piehl and Harold (Joan) Witte; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Irvin Radloff,and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert, and her brother Lawrence. She was born July 15, 1907, in Melville Township, Renville County, Minnesota, to Frank and Bertha (Hochsprung) Radloff. She grew up in the Hector area, and attended District 100 School.
She married Herbert Witte on June 26, 1928, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Parsonage in Hector.
They lived in Hector. She was active in many clubs, and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Walter H. Juhnke, 87 of 922 S. Washington St., New Ulm, died Monday, June 25, 2001 at Oak Hills Living Center.
Service will
be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial to follow in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today and 7-9 a.m. Thursday at the Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm, and one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of New Ulm; son, Tom Juhnke of New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jay Behrens of New Ulm; grandchildren, Chris, Tim, and Gregg Juhnke; two great-grandchildren, Alan and Jasmine Juhnke, all of New Ulm; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.
He was born Aug. 16, 1913, in Beach, N.D., son of August and Alvina (Berberich) Juhnke in Beach, N.D.
As a child, he moved with his family to New Ulm, where he attended public school.
After his schooling, he attended the Civilian Conservation Corps camp in Goosebury Falls.
Upon his return to New Ulm, he worked for the New Ulm Brick and Tile Yard.
He married Margaret Lingenhag on Aug. 16, 1939, at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church parsonage.
He worked for the Eagle Roller Mill and the August Schell Brewing Company for 25 years, retiring in 1976.
He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
He was active in C.A.S.T., which awarded him the Excellence in Dedication Award in March 2001.
He was a member of the Golden Age Club; and a volunteer with R.S.V.P. (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) and P.R.O. (People Reaching Out).
He received the Outstanding Senior Citizen award for Brown County in 1976.

Mildred Colberg, 95, of Redwood Falls, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willard in 1993, a twin sister Margaret in 1922, and a sister Dorothy in 1987.
She was born on Aug. 25, 1905, in Buffalo Prairie Township, Rock Island County, Ill., to Elmo and Harriet (Miller) Hessman.
At age 14, she and her family moved to Minnesota.
She graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1924 and teachers training in 1925.
She married Willard Colberg on May 23, 1928 in Redwood Falls.
They lived on a farm in Delhi Township, Redwood County until 1982 when they moved into Redwood Falls.
She worked at Montgomery Ward in Redwood Falls from 1928 until retiring in 1943.
She was a member of the Delhi Presbyterian Church.
She belonged to the Women's Association and was a Sunday school teacher for 45 years.

LaVon Willock, 94, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Madelia.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by daughter, Gloria Kusy and husband Jerome of Jacksonville, N.C.; sons, Clarence John of Mankato, Lyle David and wife Marlene of Burnsville and Daryl Dennine and wife Julie of Coon Rapids; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four sisters, Minnie Sprague, Velma Rogers and Viola Aaseng all of Madelia, and Jean Brown and husband Lloyd of St. James.
She was preceeded in death by infant son Willard Jr.; her husband in September 1999; a sister and a brother.
She was born Aug. 21, 1916 to John and Marion (Hoffman) Bason in Lamona, Iowa.
She grew up in St. James and attended school there.
She worked as a housekeeper several years prior to her marriage.
She married Willard Willock Dec. 9, 1939, in Madelia.
They farmed in rural Madelia for many years.
She worked at Tony Downs Foods, Madelia.
They lived 11 years in Anoka and she worked as a nurse's aide in Minneapolis.
In 1976 they retired to Garrison for two years and then returned to Madelia.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and church circles.

Waldemar Toltzman, 70, of 1605 South Washington St., New Ulm, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at St. John's Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery, Soldier's Rest Section.
Full military graveside honors will be conducted by the Air Force Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and one hour prior to services at church.
He is survived by daughter, Tammy Kincaid of Stillwater; sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin of New Ulm, and Patrick and Linda of Rockville, Neb.; eight grandchildren; sisters, Christel Enstad and Delores Toltzman, both of Olivia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frederick and Sharon of New Ulm, Marcus and Maxine and Willard and Sherry, all of Olivia, Alfred and Ellen of New London, Aaron and Cathy of Garrison, and Reuben and Delores of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Patricia on April 10, 1998; and sister Kathleen Isaacson.
He was born Sept. 2, 1930 in New Ulm to Frederick and Estella (Klotz) Toltzman.
His family moved to a farm south of Olivia where he attended country school in District 101 and then high school in Morton where he graduated in 1948.
He enlisted in the Air Force on Feb. 25, 1952 and retired on July 1, 1974 at the rank of Master Sargeant.
He married Patricia A. Mahal on May 26, 1956, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso.
After his retirement from the military he moved to New Ulm where he worked for Kraft Foods until retiring in 1988.
He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm where he served as an usher and a member of the Board of Trustees.
He was a past treasurer of the Non-Commission Officer Association at Edwards Air Force Base.
He was active in Cub Scouts and Webelos, serving as awards chairman, a leader and a Round Table Commissioner.
He was also a member of the Seifert-Bianchi American Legion Post 132 in New Ulm.

Albert Neumann, 65, of 1610 Sunset Ave., New Ulm, died Thursday, June 28, 2001 at his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with burial in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, New Ulm.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, New Ulm, and one hour prior services at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred, of New Ulm; daughters-and sons-in-law, Trudy and Keith Richter, Tyleen and Tony Miller, Terry and Glenn Wech, and Darcy and Dave Christensen, all of New Ulm; fourteen grandchildren; a great grandson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wally and Verna, Harvey and Mary, all of New Ulm, and Harold, of Riverside, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Garnet "Barney" and Donald "Dan".
He was born July 17, 1935, in New Ulm to Albert Sr. and Amelia (Koetting) Neumann.
He attended New Ulm Public School.
He married Mildred Schwartz on Sept. 7, 1962, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
He worked for A.M.P.I. for over 20 years, retiring in 1997.
He had also worked in construction and carpentry in New Ulm.
He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Ulm.

Blanche Lindemann, 72, of Shakopee, formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at her home.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Shakopee, with burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Cavanaugh-McNearney Funeral Home, Shakopee, and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel; children, Steven and wife Karen of Willmar, Scott and wife Bobby Jo of Kimball, Cindy Morgan of Shakopee, Shannon Geis and husband James of Shakopee; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and brother, Gaylen Class and wife Judy of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was born on July 19, 1928, in Eden Township, Brown County, to Julius and Gladys (Christenson) Class.
She attended Sleepy Eye Public School and Mankato State University.
She married Daniel Lindemann on Oct. 22, 1949, at St. Mathew's Lutheran Church in Evan.
She was a cosmetologist.

Val Werner, 47, of Winthrop, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington, following a year-long battle with cancer.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her husband Randy of Winthrop; daughters and sons-in-law, Alethea and Troy Freidrichs of Gibbon, and Arianna and Jorge Victorino of Eddy, Texas; sons Ezra, currently stationed in Germany with the military and Elias "Eli" of Winthrop; five grandchildren; parents Melvin and Vernita Messner of Winthrop, and sister Vanna Messner of Portland, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
She was born Feb. 16, 1954 in New Ulm, to Melvin and Vernita (Hagg) Messner.
She graduated from Winthrop High School in 1972.
She attended Mankato Vo-tech.
She worked in Chanhassen, doing photo etching and at 3M in Hutchinson.
She married Randy Werner on June 7,1975, in Pequot Lakes.
They lived in Winthrop.
She worked at Sibley County Public Health, as a home health aide, and as a nurse's aide at the Gaylord Lakeview Nursing Home.
She worked at Richcraft in Winthrop and at Unidoor in Gaylord.
Due to her illness, she entered the Arlington Good Samaritan Center's Hospice Progra in April 2001.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop.
