George Ebnet, 76, of Wabasso, died on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001 in St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, with parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements are handled by Sunset Burial Association of Wabasso.
He is survived by his wife Esther, five children, Mary Wiese and her husband Kenneth of Comfrey, Gene Ebnet and his wife Terese of New Ulm, Ken Ebnet and his wife Sharon of Wabasso, Jerry Ebnet and his wife Cyndee of Kasson, and Mike Ebnet of New Ulm; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brothers Raymond Ebnet of Benson and Albert Ebnet and his wife Dolores of Springfield, and sister Caroline Welsch and her husband Fred of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Robert, and sister Magdalen.
He was born May 8, 1925, inNew Avon Township, Redwood County, to Albert and Frances (Schottenbauer) Ebnet. He attended Rowena Country School and St. Anne's Parochial School in Wabasso. He married Esther Siegmann on June 14, 1945, in St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso. They settled on the family farm in New Avon Township where he farmed. He was a lifelong member of St. Anne's Catholic Church where he served as usher and on the Cemetery Board.

Deborah Pilacinski, 47, of Gaylord, died on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, at Cook Hospital.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at American Lutheran Church, Gaylord, with burial in National Cemetery, Fort Snelling.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8 a.m. Monday at the Egesdal Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Terry of Gaylord; children, Jeffrey of Minneapolis, Nicholas, Lynnette and Nathan, of Gaylord; a brother, Donald F. Hendrickson, Jr. and wife Connie of Hillsboro, Kan.; sisters, Carol and husband Donald Phillips of Buford, Ga. and Susan and husband Gary Serkasevick of Welsh; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her parents.
She was born July 9, 1954, in Rantoul, Ill. to Donald F. and Eleanor (Melhus) Hendrickson Sr. She married Terry Pilacinski on March 15, 1975, at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. She moved with her parents to Brooklyn Center in 1971. She graduated from North Hennepin Community College in 1975 and received her degree as a Registered Nurse. After marriage they moved to Okinawa, Japan where Terry was stationed with the U.S. Air Force. She worked at the Army Hospital. In 1977 they moved to St. Cloud where she worked at the St. Cloud Hospital as a Registered Nurse. In 1980 they moved to Crosby where Terry taught at the Crosby-Ironton High School. In 1990 they moved to Gaylord. She was employed at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center and at the Gaylord Lakeview Home. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church, Gaylord. She won national recognition for her craft work.

Mildred Granger, 89, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at Lake Crystal Health Care Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Lake Crystal, with burial of remains at a later date in Indiana.
Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Lake Crystal Mortuary. Memorials are preferred to First United Methodist Church in Lake Crystal or to an organization of the donor's choice.
She is survived by son, E.C. "Bud" Granger Jr. and his wife, Karen of Lake Crystal; two grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and a sister.
She was born April 16,1912, in South Bend, Ind., to Nelson Curtis and Mathilde (Duncker) Woodcox II. She worked at Ellsworth's Department Store in the hat and candy retail division and as a waitress in South Bend, Ind. She married Ellsworth Carl Granger on Feb. 7, 1934, in South Bend. He died in 1985. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lake Crystal.

Edward P. Grausam, 89, of Sleepy Eye, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at Sleepy Eye Hospital.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Divine Providence Chapel, Sleepy Eye, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.
Visitation is 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Divine Providence Chapel in Sleepy Eye
Arrangements are handled by Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Agnes Grausam of Sleepy Eye, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Michael.
He was born Oct. 5, 1911, to Florian and Rose (Deutsch) Grausam in Prairieville Township. He attended rural school District 202 and stayed on the family farm until 1979 when he moved to Sleepy Eye. He spent the past five years at the Lake Villa Maria Apartments, Sleepy Eye,
He was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the St. John's C.O.F. He served as treasurer for Prairieville Township and on the Brown County Holstein Association.

Allen E. Gray, 68, of Butterfield, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at St. James Health Services Hospital in St. James.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home at St. James, with burial in Clover Leaf Cemetery at Willmar.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James and continues one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice of Butterfield; brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Linda Gray of Pataskala, Ohio; sisters, Viola and husband Charles Bailer of Westerville, Ohio, Fran Gray of Lancaster, Ohio, Juanita and husband Kenny Wrightsel of Delaware, Ohio, Barb and husband Keith Schrack of Columbus, Ohio, and Lois and husband Bill Madsen of Riverdale, Ill.; sister-in-law Hazel Gray of Tennessee; and of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elsie Deckard, brother, Elmer Gray; and step-daughter Janice Berendt.
He was born on Aug. 29, 1932, to Lloyd and Leota (Mann) Gray in Westerville, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Bernice Marquardt in Willmar. He belonged to the Salvation Army Church in Fairmont, and he served as a volunteer bell ringer for the Salvation Army.

Imogene Holden, 83, of Springfield, died Aug. 27, 2001, at Springfield Medical Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home Chapel in Sleepy Eye with burial in Pleasant View Mound Cemetery, Amboy.
Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She is survived by daughter, Lynda and husband Richard Weilage of Sleepy Eye; son, Peter and wife Bonnie Holden of Minneapolis; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; sister in law, Millicent Holden of AmboY; nieces and nephews; special friends, Mary Hieronymos of Sleepy Eye and Helen Pederson of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and brother, Ted Long Jr.
She was born Sept. 9, 1917, to Theodor and Mathilda (Kruggel) Lang in Thornton, Iowa, She attended public school in Thornton, Iowa, and Forest, Minn. She graduated from Blue Earth High School and attended Mankato State Teachers College. She taught school in rural Faribault. On Feb. 14, 1940, she married Nathan J. Holden in Blue Earth. In 1962, she received a B.S. degree in education and in 1966 she received a master's degree in art and art education from Mankato State University. She taught in Lake Mills, Iowa, for four years before retiring. In 1976, she moved to Blue Earth to care for her parents. She organized the Seniors Citizens Center and directed many trips and activities. In 1994 she moved in Sleepy Eye.
Memorials preferred are preferred in lieu of flowers.

Marcella Wolf, 80, of 604 N. Garden St. in New Ulm, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at her home.
Mass of Christian burial is 10 a.m. Saturday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, with burial in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Searles.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Leifeld Hall at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and continues one hour prior to mass at church on Saturday. Elizabeth's Catholic Aid Society and St. Monica's Society will pray a combined rosary at 6 p.m. and there will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday at Leifeld Hall.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm handled arrangements.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Kerry McClellan of New Ulm, Paula and Matthew Sandry of Cold Spring; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley Wolf of Albert City, Iowa, Dave and Mary Ann Wolf of New Ulm, Father Paul Wolf of Winsted, Steve and Lisa Wolf of Lakeville; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother-in-law, Arthur Wolf and his wife Lucille of New Ulm; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley Wolf in 1992; brothers, Hubert Schnobrich in 1937 and a brother in infancy.
She was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Cottonwood Township, Brown County, to Joseph and Sophia (Reinhart) Schnobrich. She attended Goshen Country School. She married Stanley Wolf on Oct. 19, 1946, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles. They lived in New Ulm where she worked as a telephone operator. She worked at B.F. Goodrich, Pantasote (now known as Holm Industries) for 25 years.
She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, St. Elizabeth's Catholic Aid Society and St. Monica's Society.

Olivia Nordby, 84, of Odin, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at Mountain Lake Good Samaritan Village.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Odin, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m.today at Kramer Family Funeral Home, Trimont and Friday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Perino and husband John of Alexandria; three grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Judy Harder and husband Bob of Odin, Michelle Svalland and husband Matt; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Julia Skogen, Aletta Johnson, Karna Pulcher and Tillie Peterson, all of Windom, and Evelyn Bakke and husband Peder of Westbrook; sister-in-law, Irene Skogen of Windom; sisters-in-law, LaVera Nordby of Odin and Arlene Nordby of Rogers; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Norman and Larry; brothers, Arnt, Ole and Jorgen; sisters, Sophie Schroeder, Martha Anderson, Agnes Tindeland, Margaret Hanson, Edna Beck and other relatives.
She was born Oct. 2, 1916, to Andrew and Anna (Olson) Skogen in Springfield Township, Cottonwood County. She attended the Red, White and Blue School House in Springfield Township. She worked for area families. She married Lyal Nordby on Oct. 4, 1939, in rural Storden. They farmed in Martin County until moving to Odin in 1976. She worked at Butterfield Produce, Tony Downs in St. James and UNIVAC in Jackson. She moved to Eventide Home in Mountain Lake in 1998, then to Good Samaritan Village, Mountain Lake, the same year. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Odin. She was Ladies Aid president and belonged to WELCA.

Chad Olson, 14, son of David and Lynn Olson of rural New Ulm, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Swan Lake Lutheran Church, Brighton Township, Nicollet County, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, and one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his parents, David and Lynn Olson, of rural New Ulm; brothers, Mike Olson and Shawn Olson of rural New Ulm; sister, Dee Olson of Atlanta, Ga.; grandparents, Archie Daleiden, Grace Daleiden, and Carol Olson, all of New Ulm; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Maynard Olson; cousin, Nina Olson; aunt, Karen Olson; and by his great-grandparents.
He was born July 23, 1987, in New Ulm, to David and Lynn (Daleiden) Olson. He would have been a freshman at the New Ulm Public School. He was a member of Swan Lake Lutheran Church in Brighton Township, Nicollet County.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials.

Miriam Portner, 77, of 715 S. German St., New Ulm, died on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Friday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7-10:30 a.m. Friday at Firle Funeral Home, New Ulm. The St. Elizabeth Society will recite the rosary today at 7 p.m. and a parish prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by her brother, Stanley, of New Ulm; nieces, Susan Jutz and her husband Ken, Patricia Havemeier and her husband Dean, all of New Ulm, and Joan Oscarson and her husband Randy of Breezy Point; nephew, Michael Portner of New Ulm; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a twin sister in infancy; sister, Florence, and sister-in-law, Petronilla Portner.
She was born Oct. 16, 1923, in Cottonwood Township, Brown County, to Otto and Emma (Klinkhammer) Portner. She attended District 68 school in Sigel Township. She moved to New Ulm in 1965. In 1999, she moved into Ridgeway on German. In July 2001 she became a resident of St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. She was a member of Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and the St. Elizabeth Society.

Ervin 'Erv' Enter, 84, of Nicollet died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at Grandview Care Center in St. Peter.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Enter of Neenah, Wis.; daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and Calvin Sr. Lukken of Kelso, Wash., Delice and Jim Rauen of Neenah, Wis.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Alma Enter of New Ulm; and sister-in-law Mildred Enter of Nicollet.
He was preceded in death by his parents; great-granddaughter, Morgan Lukken; brother, Gerhardt Enter; and sisters, Irene Johnson, Elsie Compart, and Ida Wills.
He was born on July 18, 1917, in Granby Township, Nicollet County, to Henry and Margaret (Volk) Enter. He married Laura Cox on May 25, 1947, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. They lived in various rural residences before moving into Nicollet. He was employed at Nicollet Creamery for 54 years, most of that time as butter maker. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a resident of Grandview Care Center in St. Peter for the past eight months.

Marion L. Seibel Schroeder, 84, formerly of 1212 N. Jefferson St., New Ulm died on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at Oak Hills Living Center, New Ulm.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Ulm, with burial in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Schroeder, of Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Donald Graham of Chesterfield, Mo., Sandra and Fred Stolt of Huron, S.D., and Debra and Frank Krogman of San Clemente, Calif.; son, Merlin Schroeder of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Vernice Grim of Dana Pointe, Calif.; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Eldor and Lou Seibel of New Ulm and Harold and Fran Seibel of Donna, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clarence Seibel.
She was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Courtland Township, Nicollet County, to Peter and Wilhemenia (Epke) Seibel. She attended the Immanuel Lutheran German School in rural Courtland. She married Edward Schroeder on May 29, 1938, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. They farmed in rural Nicollet until 1969 when they moved to New Ulm. They moved to the Oak Hills Assisted Living Center in August 1995 and then later moved to the Oak Hills Living Center. She was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Margaret 'Pudge' Finstad, 73, of St. James, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001 at home.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Augustana Lutheran Church, St. James with burial in the Congregational Lutheran Cemetery, Comfrey.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and Sunday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
Margaret is survived by a daughter, Julie and her husband Mark Rentz, St. James; three grandchildren; sisters, Mae and her husband Oren Finstad of Minnesota, Marvel Warling of Springfield, Myrtle Finstad of New Ulm, and Marion Chambers of North Mankato, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; seven brothers and three sisters.
She was born on Sept. 4, 1927 to John and Alma (Belt) Metteer near Comfrey. She married William Finstad Feb. 21, 1944 in Pittsburg, Penn. where he was stationed in the Army. They lived in St. James for 40 years.

Mary M. Gleisner, 94, of Route 3 New Ulm died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001 at the Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. George Catholic Church in West Newton Township, Nicollet County with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday. The St. George Catholic Aid Society will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m. and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m., both Monday evening at the funeral home.
She is survived by her daughters, Rita Maurer of New Ulm and Betty Gleisner of St. Paul; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Agnes Gleisner, and Richard Gleisner, all of rural New Ulm, Kenneth and Donna Gleisner of Winthrop; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Agnes Stadtherr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Gleisner on June 24, 1988; a daughter, Karen Massey in 1985; a sister, Trese Brunner; and brothers, Joe Stadtherr, Frank Stadtherr, Hank Stadtherr, Ed Stadtherr, and John Stadtherr.
Mary was born on Oct. 20, 1906 in Gibbon to Joseph and Margaret (Stadick) Stadtherr. She married Fred M. Gleisner on May 10, 1927 at St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon. After marriage they farmed in Renville County and then later in West Newton Township, Nicollet County in the mid 1930's. They retired in the 1960's but continued to live on the farm. She was a member of the St. George Catholic Church in West Newton Township, Nicollet County and was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Aid Society.
