Janette E. Goblirsch, 69, of New Ulm, formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at her home.
Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is 8-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.
She is survived by her twin sister, Jane Goblirsch of Fairfax; sisters, Mariann Treml of Comfrey, Angela Augustin and husband Robert of Comfrey, and Beatrice Goblirsch of Japan; brothers, Clarence Goblirsch of Comfrey, Sylvan Goblirsch of Comfrey, and Stanley Goblirsch and wife Joyce of Modesto, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters in infancy; and sister-in-law, Verna Goblirsch.
She was born April 1, 1932, in Albin Township, Brown County, to Albert and Elizabeth (Soukup) Goblirsch. She graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School in 1950. She moved to St. Paul with her twin sister where they worked for three years. They moved to Chicago and New York before returning to Sleepy Eye where they lived on the farm with their parents until 1989. She lived in New Ulm since the fall of 1994.

Margaret PaImby, 86, of Redwood Falls, formerly of the Mankato and Lakefield areas, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at the Sunwood Good Samaritan Center in Redwood Falls.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls, with burial at 1:30 p.m. at the Vernon Center Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Mary Jane Palmby, of Fall Timbers, Md.; daughters and sons-in-law, Elenore and Rex Boots of Redwood Falls, and Deborah and Richard Ridgewell of Wildwood, Mo.; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Mae Case and Bernice Case.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Clayton Case and Harold Case.
She was born Feb. 15, 1915, on the family farm in Garden City Township, Blue Earth County, to William and Lillian (Hawes) Case. She grew up in the Garden City area where she graduated from high school in 1932. She attended Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, graduating with a degree as an LPN.
She married Raymond W. Palmby on Nov. 26, 1936, in Blue Earth County near Garden City. They lived in Embarrass and Big Fork, where he taught school. His position as a University of Minnesota's extension agent later took them to Park Rapids, Long Prairie and Lakefield. She was a homemaker and worked as an LPN at Lakefield Municipal Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1977. They moved into Mankato in 1989 and lived at Real Life. In 1995 they moved to Redwood Falls to be closer to their daughter, Elenore Boots. She was presently a member of First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls and formerly a member of Lakefield United Methodist Church and the Centenary United Methodist Church of Mankato. As her family was growing up, she was a Sunday school teacher and was active in United Methodist Women. She sang with the Summit Center Singers of Mankato and took part in the Eastern Star.

Marie Thompson, 87, of St. Peter died Nov. 29, 2001, at St. Peter Community Health Care Center.
Services are 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, St. Peter, with burial in Scandian Grove Lutheran Cemetery, Norseland.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church and Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to services.
She is survived by daughter, Joleen and husband Gerald Palmquist of rural Kasota; a son, Richard "Dick" and wife Barbara Thompson of Longville; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville in 1993; a great granddaughter in infancy; brothers, Everett, Arnold, Sanford, Raymond, Wallace, Joseph, Roy, Edward, and Nemerd; and a twin sister, Marian Rodning in 2001.
St. Peter Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Feb. 24, 1914, in New Sweden Township, Nicollet County, to John and Anna (Eckberg) Monson. She attended rural school and received her LPN degree from Mankato Vo-Tech. She married Orville Thompson on Dec. 27, 1935, in the Scandian Grove Lutheran Church, Norseland. She retired from the St. Peter State Hospital in 1977 after working there for 20 years as an LPN.

Bertha Simonett, 100, of Mankato, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Hillcrest Health Care Center.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Landkamer Johnson Boman Funeral Home, and Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by daughters, Jean Bauer of Mankato and Maxine Herzog and her husband Jerald of New Ulm; son Tom and his wife Vicky of St. Louis Park; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clem in 1964; and brother Ed.
She was born Feb. 24, 1901, in Montgomery, to George and Clara (Eisert) Brunner. She graduated from Montgomery High School in 1919 and as a registered nurse in 1922 from Hillcrest Surgical Hospital, Minneapolis. She married Clement Simonett on April 18, 1928, in LeSueur. She belonged to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the American Legion, Lorentz Unit 11.

Alma Fuller, 96, of St. James, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at St. James Services Hospital.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in St. James, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery in St. James.
Visitation is 3-7 p.m. today and 7:30-11:30 a.m. Monday at Sturn Funeral Home in St. James, and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by daughter, JoAnn Soderman and husband Darwin of St. James; son Loren and wife Judy of St. James; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Esther Munsterman of St. James and Erma Fuller of Mankato; brother-in-law John Fuller and wife Evelaine of Lakeville; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, husband Paul in 1985, sisters Della Keim, Martha Hopman and Louise Mathewsen; and brothers Edward, Clarence and Albert Munsterman.
She was born Aug. 2, 1905 in Rosedale Township, Watonwan County, to August and Wilhelmina (Vohs) Munsterman. She went to country school near her home. She married Paul L. Fuller on May 14, 1938 in Sioux City, Iowa. They farmed together near St. James until 1975, when they retired and moved into town. Paul died on Sept. 7, 1985. She was a lifelong member St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.

Minnie Nelson, 99, of Gaylord, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation is two hours prior to services at the church. Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Homes.
She is survived by her sister, Eva Kloempken of Hector; half-sister Rose Muller of Elk River; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, husband Melford, brothers Samuel and Henry Buboltz, half-brothers Rueben and Daniel Borchert; brother-in-law Diedrick "Dick" Kloempken; and nephew Daivd Kloempken.

Elmer F. Borth, 87, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church In Wellington Township, Renville County, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church. Hauser-Hangte Funeral Service Chapel in Fairfax is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Valeria, of Fairfax; daughter Charlet Kleman and husband Roger of Waconia; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister Olga Fullerton of Morton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Frederick and Ida Borth, sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Elmer Fritz; and brother-in-law, Clinton Fullerton.
He was born Sept. 5, 1914, in Wellington Township, to Frederick and Ida (Scll) Borth. He married Valeria on Jan. 31, 1934, at St. John Lutheran Parsonage in Fairfax. They lived and farmed in Wellington Township until they retired and moved to Fairfax in 1984. He entered Fairfax Community Home in January 2001. He was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Olidia Karau, 86, of St. James, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in St. James, with burial at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery - Fieldon, in rural Lewisville.
Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in St. James.
She is survived by children, Rosalin Ratike and husband Harland of Litchfield; Lucille Voelker and husband Harold of Lewisville, Marvin Karau and wife Barnet of St. James, Ralph Karau of Bradenton, Fla., Joline Wright and husband, Eldon of St. James, Doris Friesen and husband Barry of Mountain Lake, Dennis Karau and wife Margaret of Blackhawk, S.D., Gladys Berlin of Mankato, Helen Karau of Fredricksburg, Va.; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, three stepgreat-grandchildren; sister, Ema Thorson and husband Robert of Eagle Bend; and brother, Walter Schultz and wife Kathleen of Truman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Dorothy Karau; son, Gregory Karau; two grandchildren, Terry Ratike and one in infancy; and sister, Elna Davison.
She was born Feb. 28, 1916, to Julius and Bertha (Sieg) Schulz Pleasant Mound Township, Blue Earth County. She attended St. John's Lutheran School, Willow Creek. On May 13, 1934, she married Frederick August Karau at St. John's Lutheran Church, Willow Creek. They farmed in Antrim Township until Nov. 1, 1954, when they moved into St. James. Frederick died on Dec. 28, 1988. She volunteered for many years as a Gray Lady at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center In St. James. She entered Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center on July 1, 1996.

Evelyn M. Sackl, 89, of Vesta, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001 in Monticello.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Vesta. Burial will be in the Vesta Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour before services Tuesday at the church.
Redwood Valley Funeral Home of Redwood Falls in charge of arrangements.

Vern 'Vernie' Gullickson, 61, of Redwood Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001 at his daughter's home in Wabasso.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Burial will be in the, Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Redwood Valley Funeral Home and continues on Wednesday one hour prior to services.

Beulah Berg, 94, of St. James, died on Dec. 1, 2001, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. James United Methodist Church with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-9 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James and will continue one hour before services Wednesday at the church.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Carstensen and husband Bill of St. James; grandchildren, gail Carstensen of Welcome, Brian Carstensen of Lakeville; four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Gail Peterson; and brother, Fergus Saunders.
She was born May 9, 1907 in Houston, Minn., to Charles and Ellen (Swenson) Sanders. She attended Houston Public Schools and graduated from Winona State University. She married Albert Andrew Berg on July 15, 1938, on a family farm near Houston. They made their home in St. James. She taught school for two years in Upsala and 28 years in St. James. Albert died on April 11, 1955. She volunteered a Gray Lady at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James, where she served as an organist. She was named Outstanding Senior Citizen in Watonwan County.

Howard Gluth, 80, of rural Morgan, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at his home, of cancer.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Morgan with burial in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Morgan and will continue at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to services.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris; children and their spouses, Bob and Sue Gluth of New Ulm and Jeanne and John Dallenbach of Morgan; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother and four sisters and their spouses, Mary and Glen Leopold of Sanborn, Margaret Johnson of Tracy, Norma Gluth of Olivia, Denis and Eunice Gluth of Morgan and Diane Hostettler of Minneapolis; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law; Bob and Bernice Rose of Morgan and Marie Gluth of Post Falls, Idaho; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, June; and brother, Virgil.
He was born Jan. 7, 1921 to Ernest and Margaret (Heckler) Gluth on the family farm in Eden Township, Brown County, Minn. He attended District 57 County School. On Dec. 15, 1943, he married Deloris Viola Rose at the United Methodist Parsonage in Morgan.He farmed until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Apollonia 'Leona' J. Grau, 88, of New Ulm, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian burial is 9 a.m. Wednesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
She is survived by her nephews, Jerry Meyer and Howard Meyer and his wife, Doris, all of New Ulm, and John Wendinger, Jr. of Wichita, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Erwin Grau on Aug. 3, 1987; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and John Meyer; and brothers and sisters-in-law, John Wendinger, Sr. and his wife, Florence, and Albert and Josephine Wendinger.
She was born Sept. 29, 1913, in Fairfax, to John and Elizabeth (Tauer) Wendinger. She married Erwin Grau on May 25, 1937, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. They lived in New Ulm. She worked as a seamstress at the Wearwell Garment Factory in New Ulm. She also worked at Herberger's in New Ulm. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm.

LuVern Gullickson, 61, of Redwood Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, in Wabasso
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Redwood Valley Funeral Home, with burial in Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He is survived by his mother, Verna Gullickson of Granite Falls; children, Barb Gullickson and husband Mike Schottenbauer of Wabasso, Stan Gullickson and wife Laurie of Gibbon, Chris Gullickson of Redwood Falls, LuAnn Gullickson and husband Randy Campbell of Morgan, and Chuck Gullickson and wife Tilly of Howard, S.D.; and Lisa Gullickson of Redwood Falls; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Robert Gullickson of Granite Falls, Marlys Masters of New London, and Vera Cain of Willmar.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ludwig Gullickson and wife Janice in 1996; an infant daughter; sisters, Teresa and Cheryl; and an infant grandson, Scott Schottenbauer.
