Phyllis Heinen, 67, of Springfield, died Dec. 11, 2001, at Springfield Medical Center.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Springfield with burial in Springfield City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-9 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield and continues one hour before services Friday at the church.
She is survived by her children, Michael and wife Julie of Nicollet, Kathy and husband Douglas Price of Eagan, Beth and husband Sam Domeier of Sleepy Eye, David and wife Pam of Springfield; stepchildren Raymond L. and wife Arlette of Yankton, S.D., Lawrence, Brenda and husband Sheldon Bratsch of Hutchinson; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her mother, Florence Rassmussen of Edina; brother, Harland and wife Bev of Rapid City, S.D.; sisters, Carol and husband Jerry Osteraas of Bloomington, Anita and husband Darold Ashton of Apple Valley, Lucille and husband Hans Misvaer of Bloomington, Marian and husband Jim Johnson of Sartell, Susan and husband Rick Hogan of Golden, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Victor Rassmussen; husband Raymond and five children in infancy.
She was born on Feb. 24, 1934, in Tracy, to Victor and Florence (Hamack) Rasmussen. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1952. She married Raymond A. Heinen on July 4, 1953, in Brookings, S.D. They lived in Springfield, where they operated the Four Seasons Drive-In and Store from 1969 to the early 1980s. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was also a member of a church circle and volunteered at St. John Lutheran Home.

Emma A. Hageman, 88, of Comfrey, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel, with burial in Springfield City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel, and one hour prior to services Saturday.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Alden and Elaine of Elk River, Dennis and Virginia of Estherville, Iowa, Warren and Gabriela Hageman of Arlington, Va.; daughter, Diane Hageman Norback of Madison, Wis.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Adele Warr of Lamberton; sisters-in-law, Selma Hageman of Springfield, Arlene Meier of Windom, and Darlene Meier of Jeffers; and nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Evan; sisters, Martha Uhlenhopp and Elsie Zoeller; and brothers, John, Herman and Albert Meier.
She was born Jan. 24, 1913, in Storden Township, Cottonwood County, to Henry and Rosa (Hinrichs) Meier. She married Even Hageman on March 15, 1934, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown. They farmed in Stately Township, Brown County, and were members of Christ Stately Church. In 1983 they moved to Comfrey and became members of Salem Lutheran Church, which is now New Hope Lutheran Church. In 1992, she moved to St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.

William 'Bill' George Esser, 82, of Springfield, died Dec. 11, 2001, at St. John Lutheran Home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He is survived by daughter, Mary and husband Dave Gross of Springfield; son, Thomas and wife, Michele Esser of Loa Osos, Calif.; five grandchildren, D.J. and Samuel Gross and Elizabeth, Mary and Margaret Esser; sister, Elizabeth (Betty) and husband Leonard Schwamberger of Lake Crystal; sisters-in-law, Alice Hodson of Mankato and Ruth Esser of St. Paul.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peg in 1997; brothers, Harold and Peter; and sisters, Flora and Blanche.
He was born May 22, 1919, in Mankato, to Peter J. and Mabel (Hanson) Esser. He graduated from Loyola High School in 1937 and attended Smeby Display School In Minneapolis. He served with the U.S..Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942 to 1945. On July 8, 1946, he married Anna Margaret (Peg) Hodson in Mankato. The couple lived in Minneapolis and Bemidji. In 1958 they purchased interest in Skogmos Department Store in Springfield. The store changed ownership and became known as Esser's Department Store in 1975. He was a member of St Raphael's Catholic Church, was former chairman of the church council, member of the Knights of Columbus, and he received the Bishop's Medal of Service. He was a member of the John Watson American Legion Post for more than 50 years. He was former chairman of the school board. He belonged to Springfield Rotary where he served as past president and received the Paul Harris Rotary Award. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Springfield Golf Club. He was a member of SCORE for 20 years.

Patricia M. Hinderman, 60, of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, of a heart attack due to complications of diabetes.
Services are 11 a.m, Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Redwood Valley Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church Saturday.
She is survived by her husband, LeRoy; children, Ed and wife Sandra of Monticello, Steve and wife Shelly of Redwood Falls, Mike and wife Ruth of Redwood Falls, David and wife Deanna of Montgomery, and Barbara and husband Jeff Thibedeau of Robbinsdale; nine grandchildren; and siblings, Ann Rose and husband Don of Redwood Falls, Ken Bahr of Redwood Falls, George Bahr and wife Donna of Palm Coast, Fla., and Tom Buhr and wife Roxanne of Danbury, Conn.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Bahr; brother John, and a sister Barbara.
She was born March 17, 1941, in Danbury, Conn., to George and Florence (Werner) Bahr. She attended school in Danbury. She married LeRoy Hinderman in October 1963. They moved to the Redwood area. She lived In Redwood Falls for 37 years, and worked at Zytec/Artesyn for 31 years as a buyer and planner. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Clifford 'Cliff' Muenchow, 77 of Seaforth, died Tuesday, Dec. 11 2001, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
A memorial service is 11 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview with burial at a later date.
Visitation is one hour before the service Monday at the church.
Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Seaforth; children, Linda Parish of Seaforth, Ardell Marks and a special friend Mark Grzeskowiak of Marshall, and Vikki Burke and her husband Gordon of Redwood Falls; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Naomi Kragness of Sweet Home, Ore.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene Muenchow and his wife Bonnie of Owatonna, Galen Muenchow, and his wife Patty of Correll, and Howard Muenchow and his wife Judy of Charlotte, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Hemingsen in 1992; two brothers; and one sister.
Clifford Arthur Muenchow was born on Oct. 10, 1924, in Reynolds Township, Todd County, to Arthur and Leila (Howe) Muenchow. He attended country school near Appleton and graduated from Appleton High School in 1942. He enlisted in the United States Army on Oct.13, 1945 and served until Dec. 8, 1946. He married Lucille Tripp on Dec. 5, 1947, in Appleton. They lived there until 1962 when they moved to Belview and in 1980 they moved to Seaforth. He worked on a farm, as a mechanic, operated heavy equipment, and drove a gas truck.

Roger J. Goerish, 57, of Kiester, formerly of Sanborn, died Thursday, Dec. 13, at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea.
Services will be 11 a.m Tuesday, Dec. 18, at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Wells with burial in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, Kiester.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday at the church with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to the service. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Goerish of Kiester; sons, Chad and wife Carla Goerish of Mankato, Perry Goerish of Denver, Colo., Jon and wife Shawnda of Des Moines, Iowa; two grandchildren; his mother, Thelma Goerish of Sanborn; brothers, Lewis of Sanborn, Gerald and wife Gloria of Clear Lake, Iowa; Edward and wife Lei Lani of Ashby, Charles and wife Sandra of Tracy, and Thomas of Clara City; sisters, Eleanor (Elly) and husband Frank Trebesch of Sanborn, and Bev and husband Sal Windschitl of New Ulm; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Goerish in 1999.
He was born Jan. 10, 1944 in Springfield to Albert and Thelma (Fults) Goerish.
He married Beverly Stark on Aug. 13, 1966 in Lamberton. He graduated from Sanborn High School in 1967 and graduated from Winona State. He was a 7th and 8th grade math teacher from 1967 to 2001 at the Kiester Public School, which was later called South Central School and currently United South Central Public School. He was named Minnesota 9-Man Football Coach of the Year in 1990. He retired in June 2001. He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, the USC Education Association (of which he served as past president), a charter member and former president of the Kiester Jaycees, member of the Kiester Economic Development Committee and former member of the Kiester City Council.
A scholarship fund is being established in Roger's memory or memorials may be given to the donor's choice in lieu of flowers.

Lois Isaacson, 80, of Franklin, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at the Sunwood Good Samaritan Center, Redwood Falls.
Services are 2 p.m. today at Central Lutheran Church, Camp Township, Renville County with burial in the Finnish Apostolic Cemetery, Camp Township, Renville County.
Visitation will be 7:30-11:30 a.m. today at the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Fairfax and t the church, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her son, Mark Isaacson of Franklin; a brother-in-law, Roy of Fairfax, sisters-in-law, Mamie of Great Falls, Mont., Lillian of St, Paul, Helen of Franklin, and Audrey of Morgan, and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ray Isaacson; sisters, Betty Weikle and Elenor Weikle and a brother in infancy.
She was born Aug. 23, 1921 in Bandon Township, Renville County to Olaf and Sophia (Larson) Weikle. She graduated from Fairfax High School. She received her teaching certificate from Mankato State. She taught country school in Bandon Township, Renville County, before teaching at various area schools.
She married Edwin "Ray" Isaacson on June 12, 1965, at Central Lutheran Church, Camp Township, Renville County. They farmed in Bandon Township. He died Sept. 19, 1989. She continued living on their farm site until December 1993, when she entered the Sunwood Good Samaritan Center, Redwood Falls.
She was a member of Central Lutheran church, where she served with the ladies' aid. She also belonged to the Renville County Farm Bureau, the Renville County Historical Society, the Renville County Fair Board and was an adult leader with the Bandon Busy Beavers 4-H Club.

Emelia Rengstorf, 94, of Courtland died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center inMankato.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Courtland Township, Nicollet County with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of the service at the church on Monday.
Emelia is survived by her daughters, Evelyn Marxhausen of White Bear Lake, and Marian Rengstorf of Courtland; sons and daughters-in-law, Marv and Dorothy Rengstorf of Mankato, and Dave and Molly Rengstorf of Courtland; ten grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; a sister, Wilhelmine Schmidt of Courtland; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wes and Myra Rengstorf of Courtland. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Rengstorf on Oct. 14, 1981; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman and Alice Kratzke, and Rueben and Bertha Kratzke; a son-in-law, Victor Marxhausen; a brother-in-law, Wesley Schmidt.
Emelia was born July 21, 1907 in Nicollet County to Anton and Wilhelmine (Hermel) Kratzke. She attended county school in rural Nicollet. On Nov. 5, 1925 she married Edward Rengstorf at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet.
After marriage they farmed in Courtland Township, Nicollet County until moving into Courtland in 1967. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Courtland, and the Dorcus Society at church. She had been a resident of the Hillcrest Health Care Center since July 2001.

Julia Anderson, 96, of Hanska, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4 - 7 p.m. Monday at the Firle Funeral Home in Hanska, and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her daughters, Arlene Miller and husband Melvin of Hanska, and Jean German and husband Wendell of Richfield; sons, Leslie Anderson and wife Patty of Burnsville, Warren Anderson and wife Garnett of Hanska; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; great- grandchildren, Cory and Ruth Anderson; brothers, Oluf, John, Pete, and Herman Olson; sisters, Sophie Bakke, Clara Olson, and Anna Evjen; and two half sisters.
She was born Feb. 22, 1905, in Appleton, to Ole H. and Carrie (Johnson) Olson. As a child, she moved with her family to the Hanska area where she grew up on the family farm and attended school. She married Louis Anderson on Feb. 16, 1927 in Mankato. They lived on the Anderson brother's farm near Hanska for six years, before moving to their own farm in Lake Hanska Township, Brown County. Her husband died in 1974. She continued to live on the farm until moving into Hanska in 1997. She was Hanska's oldest living resident at the time of her death. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, WELCA, Sewing Group, Over 60 Club and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Vernon "Pat" Kleinschmidt, 82, of Minneapolis and formerly of New Ulm, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at the Northridge Care Center in New Hope.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Faith Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation is 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Faith Lutheran Church in New Ulm. The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Rhonelda and Edmund Romberg of Banning, Calif.; a special friend, Elvina Olson of New Ulm; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ordell Kleinschmidt in April 1983; and brother Roger Kleinschmidt.
He was born June 15, 1919, in Eden Township, Brown County, to Henry and Alvina (Petrich) Kleinschmidt. He was a graduate of Fairfax High School. He married Ordell Shiro on July 1, 1968, in Hector. They lived in New Ulm where he worked at Roeder's Hatchery until retiring. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Marcella "Mike" Berg, 89, of Wabasso, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at the Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church in Morgan, with burial in the Salem United Methodist Cemetery in New Avon Township.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her children, Wallace "Dick" Berg and wife Barb of New Market, and Jerilyn Forbrook and husband Dick of Morgan; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Juanita Jensen of Lucan, and Arlene Kerkhoff and husband Glenn of Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russel; an infant son, Gary; and brothers, Garnet and Calvin.
She was born Aug. 22, 1912, on the family farm in New Avon Township, Redwood County, to Ira G. and Helena (Zimmerman) Zieske. She attended District 14 school and quit at a young age to care for her ailing mother. She married Russel C. Berg on Nov. 9, 1935, in New Avon Township. She began was a homemaker and cared for her mother until the latter's death in 1970. In 1972 the family moved to Wabasso. Her husband died Oct. 1, 1989. In September 1997 she became a resident at Wabasso Health Care and more recently lived at the Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan to be closer to her family. She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Ladies Aid and was in charge of their greeting card sales. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors and Senior Citizens at Wabasso.

Clarence Fisher, 85, of Gaylord, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at the Good Samaritan Center in Arlington.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley Township, rural Gaylord, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord, and one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Erline of Gaylord; son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Vicki Fisher of Lakeville; daughter and son-in-law Renaye and Ted Schoeppner of Eagle Lake; sisters, Grace Pinske of Gaylord and Josephine Kleist of Arlington; four grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Florence Kassuelke and Hazel Berndt.
He was born Oct. 11, 1916, in Sibley Township, Sibley County, to Frank and Mary (Hahn) Fisher. He attended Sibley Township school. He married Erline Dietzel on May 28, 1944, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington. They farmed on the Fisher family homestead in Sibley Township. He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley Township, Sibley County. He served on the church board and was an usher.

Tiffany Ferguson, 15, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001.
Services are 2 p.m. today at Maranatha Assembly of God in Wyoming with visitation two hours prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are handled by Mattson Funeral Home of Forest Lake.
She is survived by her parents, Blair and Nancy; sisters, Tonicia and Tiahnah; grandparents, Geraldine Miller of Forest Lake and Bill and Rose Ferguson of New Ulm; great-grandmother, Hazel Pichner of Owatonna, Thelma Ferguson of Bullhead City, Ariz.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, special teachers and friends.

Mildred Micke, 91, of Gibbon died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon and continues for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Wednesday.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Ordella Micke of Hutchinson, Donald and Janet Micke of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Thomas and Judy Micke of Delano; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Regina and Walter Hormann of Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Micke on Sept. 21, 1991; great-grandson, Ian Micke in 1988; sister, Elsie Marks; and a brother, Alvin Mesenbring.
She was born Dec. 30, 1909, in McLeod County, to Frank and Lena (Hoernmann) Mesenbring. She attended the First Lutheran Grade School in Glencoe. She married Henry F. Micke on June 20, 1934, at First Lutheran Church in Glencoe. They lived in Winthrop and then Gibbon. She worked as a cook at the Gibbon school and at Curt's Cafe. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon.
