Walter M. Morley, 73, of Redwood Falls, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Redwood Area Hospital.
Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. today at Redwood Valley Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and will continue one hour prior to service Wednesday at the church.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. Burial will be at St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery in Redwood Falls.
He is survived in death by his wife Gladys Morley; son Tom Morley; daughter Cheryl Davis; and one grandson.
Walter M. Morley was born Sept. 6, 1928, in Redwood Falls to John and Ella "Francis" (Hacker) Morley.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Roger Compart, 70, of Greenleafton died at his home on Jan. 3, 2002.
Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wycoff, and one hour prior to service Saturday.
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wycoff.
He is survived in death by his wife Elaine of Greenleafton; son Scott of Mabel; daughters, Melissa of Osseo, Wis., and Tamara Everett of Annandale; brother Oliver Compart of St. Peter; and four grandchildren.
Roger was born Feb. 11, 1932, to Fred and Frieda Compart in Granby Township, Nicollet.

William 'Bill' Wittgraf, 60, of 906 First Avenue in Gibbon, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon, with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in Gibbon.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 7:30 - 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Bill is survived by his wife Karen Wittgraf of Gibbon; daughters and son-in-law, Jill Wittgraf of Bloomington, Paula and Larry Kaufenberg of Fairfax, and Karie-Ann Wittgraf of New Ulm; grandchildren, Derek Wittgraf, Krystina Nachicas, Ricky Coulson, and Macy Kaufenberg; a sister Jane Wittgraf of Oakland, California; and a brother and sister-in-law Jon and Etta Wittgraf of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his parents.
William was born on Nov. 30, 1941 in Minneapolis, to Raymond and Adelle (Boehnhardt) Wittgraf.
He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, and later graduated from MacPhail College of Music in Minneapolis.
He married Karen Coles on Aug. 1, 1964, at St. Helena's Catholic Church in Minneapolis.
He was an Instrumental Music Teacher for 30 years, teaching in Morton, Lester Prairie, Fairfax and Gibbon. He was loved and cherished by his family and friends and has touched the hearts of many of his students. He will be missed and remembered.

Loretta C. Larsen, 95, of Redwood Falls, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Redwood Falls Hospital.
Visitation will be 3 - 7 p.m. today at Jacobson Funeral Home, Walnut Grove.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Walnut Grove, with burial at Lucan Cemetery, Lucan.
She is survived by sisters, Viola Kruger of Morgan, Lucille Vavra of Minneapolis, and Julia Johnson of Minneapolis.
She was born April 28, 1906, in Vesta, to John and Anna (Ludwig) Jaros.

Marilyn J. Blank, 73, of Crosby, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at her home.
Visitation is 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday at Cascade United Methodist Church, Deerwood.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at the Cascade United Methodist Church, Deerwood, with burial at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hebron Cemetery, Nicollet. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
She is survived by brother Rex Hendley of New Ulm; and sister Phyllis Domas of Mankato.
She was born on March 4, 1928, in Mankato, to Edward and Hazel Hendley.

Ethel Fischer, 93, of Gibbon died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002 at Glencoe Regional Health Center.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday the Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon with burial in the Lake Amelia Cemetery in Villard at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
She is survived by her daughters, Velma Kuseske of Villard, Darlene Fischer of Eugene, Ore.; son, Lenis Fischer of Gibbon; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucile Vidlund of Annandale.
She was born Oct. 28, 1908, in Fair Haven to Edward and Auguste (Meyer) Schwanke.

Mildred V. Crippen, 93, of Sanborn, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Springfield Medical Center.
Visitation is 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday at Sanborn United Methodist Church.
Services are 3 p.m. Saturday at Sanborn United Methodist Church with burial to follow at the Sanborn City Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
She is survived by her husband, Frank P. Crippen of Sanborn; daughter, Dorothy Gransee of Sanborn; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was born May 5, 1908, to C and Dora (Flowers) Davis in Germantown Township.

Margaret Walsh, 74, of Madelia, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Madelia Community Hospital.
Visitation is 1-8 p.m. today at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Madelia, with burial at Calvary Cemeterey in Madelia.
She is survived by her daughter Catherine Rossing of Madelia; sisters, Elizabeth Helder, Agnes Gappa and Jean Froehling; and four grandchildren.
She was born Sept. 18, 1927, in Madelia to Hugh and Bridgett (McMorrow) Tierney.

Louis Schroeder, 90, of Hutchinson, formerly of Hector, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Hutchinson Area Health Care.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John Lutheran Church in Osceola Township, rural Bird Island, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Hughes Funeral home in Hector and continues one hour before the services Sunday at the church.

Gertrude Amelia Reynolds, 96, of Mankato and formerly of Northfield, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Mankato Lutheran Home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Benson Funeral Home in Northfield, with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery Northfield at a later date.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
She is survived by daughter, Donna Werdahl New Ulm; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Nora English of Santa Anna, Calif.
She was born June 17, 1905, in Northfield to Nels and Anna (Sorbu) Nelsons.

Gertrude Amelia Reynolds was born June 17, 1905 in Northfield, Minnesota to Nels and Anna (Sorbu) Nelson. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church and attended Northfield schools. She married Roscoe W. Reynolds on July 16, 1932 in Faribault. Roscoe passed away in 1935. Gertrude remained in Northfield to raise their daughter, Donna. She worked at the Ideal Cafe for over 30 years. In 1971 she moved to Kenyon, and in 1999 moved to Mankato. She enjoyed reading, cooking, crocheting, needle point, and her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Richard Werdahl of New Ulm; 2 grandchildren: Cheryl and husband Greg Olson of Shafer, Scott and wife Kari of Chaska; 4 great-grandchildren: Brennan and Brooks Olson and Eric and Marin Werdahl; her sister, Nora English of Santa Anna, California; and 2 nieces: Sharon Ann Nelson of Chicago and Nancy Coates of Tustin, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her grandson, Steven; her sister, Grace; and three brothers: Deno, Oliver, and Iver "Ted."
Gertrude passed away Thursday morning, January 10, 2002 at the Mankato Lutheran Home, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side, at the age of 96.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2002 at Benson Funeral Home in Northfield with Rev. Guy Redfield of 1st Lutheran Church in Kenyon officiating. Music will be provided by Scott and Kari Werdahl. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Northfield, at a later date.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are with Benson Funeral Home, Northfield.

JoAnn Darlene Krogstad, 82, of Redwood Falls, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002 at her home.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, Belview, with burial in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, rural Redwood Falls.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Clayton Krogstad, of Redwood Falls; son Troy Krogstad of Marshall; two grandchildren; and sisters Viola Mell and Myrt Overboy, both of Redwood Falls, and Florence Annis of Granite Falls.
She was born April 21, 1939, in Vesta, the daughter of Walter and Clara (Froelich) Lehmkuhl.

Alice McFarland, 91, of Fairfax, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at the Fairfax Community Nursing Home.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Franklin, with burial in Birch Coulee Cemetery, Franklin.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauser Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax and one hour prior to services at the church.
A prayer service is 7 p.m. Sunday night at Hauser Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax.

Joel Krzmarzick, 62, of Mankato, formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at Divine Providence Community Home Chapel, Sleepy Eye, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Father Edward Ardolf is officiating.
He is survived by brothers and sisters, Marvin and wife Alice Krzmarzick of Burnsville, Dale and wife Dorothy Krzmarzick of Sleepy Eye, JoAnn and husband Tom Seifert of Sleepy Eye, Judy Krzmarzick of Worthington and Randy and his wife Pam Krzmarzick of Sleepy Eye; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dean in 1974.
Joel was born on July 5, 1939, in Leavenworth Township, Brown County, the son of Sylvester and Alyce (Soukup) Krzmarzick. He grew up and lived with his family on the farm in Leavenworth Township until 1947 when he moved to Faribault. He lived in Faribault and St. Peter until moving to the REM III Home in Mankato in 1978. Joel made his home there and worked at MRCI in Mankato. After having hip surgery in April 2001, Joel moved to Therese K. Sexton Home North in North Mankato. He enjoyed music, dancing and participating in the Special Olympics.

Aaron A. (Sam) Burns, 63, of Cottage Grove, died Saturday at the Wood Winds Hospital in Woodbury.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rita's, with burial to follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Cottage Grove.
Aaron is survived by a son, Jon of Cottage Grove; sisters, Betty Gullickson of Arizona, Agnes Boever of Walnut Grove, and Adrienne (Sue) Maidl of New Ulm; brothers, Mello Jr. of Stewart, Bob of Gaylord, Marv of Apple Valley, Duane of Apple Valley, Larry of Maplewood and Brian of New Ulm.
Aaron was born in 1939, to Mello and Bertha Burns in Tracy.

Arnold "Arnie" L. Zick, 88, of Morgan, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002 at Gil-Mor Manor, Morgan.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Morgan, with burial with military honors in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home, Morgan and Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Morgan; a son Gary of Morgan; two daughters, Betty Potter of West Fargo, N.D. and Linda Madsen of Morgan; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren.
He was born Feb. 4, 1913 in Clinton, Wis. to William and Lena (Ludtke) Zick.
He served in the U.S. Army from January 1945 to June 1946.

Elmer Nelson, 93, of Redwood Falls died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002 at the Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church.
