Florence Wick, 93, of Stewart, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at the Christian Community Home in Hudson, Wis.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stewart, with burial to follow in the Round Grove Lakeside Cemetery in Stewart. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home in Hector.

Wilbert Rose, 88, of Morgan died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Sleepy Eye Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Morgan, with burial to follow at the Morgan City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service.
Arrangements are with the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service.
He is survived by daughters, Sheila Gulden of Richfield, Linda Tafur of Hayward, Calif., Bonnie Draeger of Redwood Falls, and Janice Russell of Circle Pines; sister Lucille Sandmann of Morgan; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Wilbert "Bill" Rose was born Feb. 3, 1914, in Brookville Township, Brown County, the son of Emil and Emma (Siebel) Rose.

Chayton Hunter Anderson, 21 months, of Winthrop, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at his home.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, at Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop, and continues one hour before the services at the church on Monday. A second service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton, Iowa. There will be visitation two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Nashua, Iowa.
He is survived by his parents Darrell and Dawn Anderson of Winthrop; siblings, Nicole Anderson of Lafayette, Ashley Anderson of Winthrop, and Gatlin Kraft-Anderson of Winthrop; grandparents, Willard and Rosemary Anderson of Gaylord, Glen and Sharon Vander Kolk of Waverly, Iowa and Ken and Lorie Kraft of Ionia, Iowa
Chayton Hunter Anderson was born May 12, 2000, in Hutchinson, to Darrell and Dawn (Kraft) Anderson.

Ernest W. Christianson, 93, of Lake Crystal, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at Lake Crystal Health Care Center.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Butternut, with burial in the Butternut Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Christianson of rural Lake Crystal; son, Martin Christianson of rural Lake Crystal; and three grandchildren.
Ernest W. Christianson was born April 22, 1908, in Lake Crystal to Edward and Tilly (Nelson) Christianson.

Norbert J. Hauser, 84, of 1110 N. Payne in New Ulm, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Norbert is survived by his daughters, Lynette Fischer of Stockton, Calif., Joleen English of Sunnyvale, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Jeanne Hauser of Richfield; grandchildren, Greg Mathiowetz, Debra Hauser, Susan Fischer, Todd Fischer, Mindy Stroh, Larisa English, and Janice English; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Jim Carrier of Waconia, Rosella "Sally" Ubl of Shakopee, Betty and Paul Kubiszewski of Porter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Donna Hauser of Hammond, Wis., Jerome and Alice Hauser of New Ulm; and sister-in-law, LorJean Hauser of North Mankato.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Norbert Hauser, Jr.; sister, Arlene Matilla; brothers, Eugene Hauser, Raymond Hauser, Roland "Smoky" Hauser, James Hauser; and a brother, Raymond Hauser in infancy.
He was born on Nov. 20, 1917, in Milford Township, Brown County, to Charles and Mary (Sperl) Hauser. He farmed in rural Sleepy Eye and rural Winthrop until 1974. He then worked as a handyman into his 80s. He was very generous when giving of himself, but found it difficult to accept favors and generosity from others. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.

Molly Ann Schwecke, stillborn daughter of Scott and Kimberly Schwecke of rural Buffalo Lake, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
Private graveside services will be held Saturday, at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Moltke Township, Sibley County.
Molly is survived by her parents, Scott and Kimberly (Wroge) Schwecke of rural Buffalo Lake;
brothers, Tyler, Joseph, and Justin Schwecke, all at home; her paternal grandparents, Don
and Elaine Schwecke of rural Gibbon; and her maternal grandparents, Wallace and Lynn Wroge
of Hamburg; a great grandmother, Esther Wroge of Plato, and a great grandfather, Charles Ittel
of Norwood Young America.

Glayd Marti, 83, of Sleepy Eye, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye, with burial to follow at Home Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and 7:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye and one before the service at the church on Tuesday.
She is survived by sons, Gardell Marti and Mark Marti, both of Sleepy Eye; daughter, Carol Hinderman of Sleepy Eye; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Ione Krienke.
She was born March 31, 1918, in North Home Township to Elmer and Helema (Swanson) Sampson.

Lucille Peik, 87, of Brownton, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Burns Manor Nursing Home, Hutchinson.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Congregational Church in Brownton with burial in Emmanuel Cemetery in Sumter Township.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hantge Funeral Chapel, Brownton.

Kristina Matter, age 12, of Grand Rapids, Minn., passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, in Buffalo Lake.
Funeral service date and time are pending in Grand Rapids. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m at the St John's Catholic Church in Hector with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home.
Kristina Ann Matter was born Nov. 16, 1989, in Springfield, Minn. Patricia M. (Iverson) and Charles L. Matter are Kristina's parents. Kristina grew up in Grand Rapids, Minn., and was currently a sixth-grade student at the Grand Rapids Middle School. An active and outgoing girl, Kristina was a cheerleader for the Grand Rapids Jaycee's football. She enjoyed baking, swimming, fishing and gardening. She loved spending time with her grandparents and relatives, and enjoying family get-togethers. Kristina loved pets and small children and she babysat for younger children.
Kristina is survived by her parents Charles and Patricia Matter of Grand Rapids, Minn.; brothers, Gregory Charles Matter, age 9, and Julius Henry Matter, age 6, of Grand Rapids; sister, Mistie Autumn Woody, age 10, of Sleepy Eye, Minn.; paternal grandparents Dawn and Jean Fasching of Howard Lake, Minn., Vernon C. Matter of Sanborn, Minn., and Phyllis Case of Franklin, Minn.; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Kristina was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Julius and Shirley Iverson, and her cousins, the Ojullu triplets, Journey, Almeja, and Roamibet.

Melissa Wallert Matter, age 16, of Hector, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, in Buffalo Lake.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at 11:30 a.m. at the St. John's Catholic church in Hector. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the St. John's Catholic Church in Hector with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home.
Melissa Sue Wallert Matter was born Oct. 27, 1985, in New Ulm, Minn. Ann A. (Stimpert) and Vernon Matter are Melissa's parents. She was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm.
Melissa was currently in the 10th Grade at the Buffalo Lake-Hector School. She worked at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center, and enjoyed taking care of the elderly. She also loved children and animals.
Melissa is survived by her parents Vernon and Ann Matter of Hector; sister, Rhonda Rasmussen of Hector; brothers, Michael Matter and Andrew Matter of Hector; maternal grandparents, Greg and Jean Stimpert of Mesa, Ariz.; great grandmother Magdelan Kapolczynski of Mesa, Ariz.; paternal grandparents Vernon Matter of Sanborn, Minn., and Phyllis Case of Franklin, Minn.; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Melissa was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather William Kapolczynski, and her maternal great grandparents Bertha and Charles Stimpert.

Howard LaFavor, 92, of Winthrop, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop, with burial in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Crystal.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop.
He is survived by daughter, Delores Williams of Minneapolis; and sisters, Florence Bacon of Minneapolis, and Leone Leslie of Brainerd.
He was born April 1, 1909, in St. Paul.

Dennis Treml, 66, of Hampton, and formerly of Brown County, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Augustana Home in Hastings.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton, with burial to follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home in Hastings, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Dennis is survived by his wife Helen Treml of Hampton; son Gene (Lora) Treml of Lakeville; daughter LuAnn (Dave) Burandt of Chaska; sister Mary Sellner; brothers, Edwin Trml, James Treml, Michael Treml, and Leon Treml; sisters, Eileen Grund, Elaine Helget Joan Shimasaki and Jeanette McMullen; and grandchildren, Anthony Burandt, Jayson Treml, Sydney Treml and Travis Treml.
He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Agnes Treml; and brothers, Marvin and Jerome Treml.
Dennis J. Treml was born Aug. 5, 1935, to Michael and Agnes (Hillesheim) Treml in Brown County. He married Helen Hoffmann of Nov. 11, 1959, at St. Mary's church in Sleepy Eye. Dennis worked as a carpenter. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Lorraine "Girlie" Annebelle Martius, 77, of Revere, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton, with burial at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton.
She is survived by her husband Henry Martius; daughter Constance Lambert of Big Lake; sons, Jerry Martius of Sanborn, Dennis Martius of Spearfish, S.D., Thomas Martius of Luverne, and Richard Martius of Wallnut Grove; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Elmer Johnson of Lamberton, and Raymond Johnson of Revere; and sisters, LaVonne Prins of Lamberton, and Juanita Pankonin of Brookings, S.D.
She was born May 12, 1924, in Remsen, Iowa, to George and Anna (Raveling) Johnson.

Steven Reese, 52, of Sanborn, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at his home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Lamberton, with burial at a later date.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 - 9 a.m. Thursday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton.
He is survived by his wife LaVonne of Sanborn; children, Jesse Reese, Tracie Reese, Tamara Brown and Justin Reese, all of Sanborn; mother Belva Zimmerli of Redwood Falls; maternal grandmother Josephine Brandt of Redwood Falls; brothers, Larry Reese of Aliso Viejo, Calif., Gary Reese of Springfield, and Jack Reese of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; sister Patricia Engler of Minnetonka; and half sister Karin Zimmerli of Springfield.
He was born June 21, 1949, in Redwood Falls to Herbert and Belva (Brandt) Reese.

Emily Rodella Sander, 83, of Belview, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Rock Dell Lutheran Church, Swedes Forest Township, Belview, with burial in the Rock Dell Lutheran Cemetery in Swedes Forest Township.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the church, and on Friday, one hour prior to the service.
Kulow Funeral Service, Echo, is handling arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Arle of Belview; daughter, Arliss of Belview; brother, Floyd Abrahamson of Belview, and sister, Hazel Anderson of Belview.
She was born June 19, 1918, at Sioux Agency to Henry and Helga (Flaata) Abrahamson.

Leslie John Buggert, 81, of West St. Paul, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, West St. Paul, with burial in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at West Funeral Home in West St. Paul, and at the church Thursday an hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice; children, Thomas of St. George, Utah; Jolene Richard of West St. Paul, and James of Lake Elmo; stepchildren, Pat Astrup and Albert Schussler; four sisters; two brothers; 14 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
He grew up and graduated from high school in Brown County, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
