Kathy Jones, 47, died Monday, March 4, 2002, in Memphis, Tenn.
Services were held Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at the Mt. Sharon Presbyterian Church, with burial at Mt. Vinson Cemetery, Stantonville, Tenn.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Cortney Jones of Cornith, Miss.; mother Barb Carlson of New Ulm; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deb and Roger Fortwengler of Burnsville, and Tricia and Jeff Rickman of Adamsville, Tenn.; brother Richard Carlson Jr. of Houston, Texas; four nieces; one nephew; one great-niece; one great-nephew; grandmother, Margaret Carlson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and many aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Brandy in 1974; father Richard Carlson Sr.; two grandfathers; and one grandmother.
She was a 1972 graduate of New Ulm High School and worked for General Electric in Selmer, Tenn.
Kathy's spirit lives on as she was an organ donor.

David Louwagie, 70, of Milroy, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Redwood Falls Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Milroy, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Milroy and will continue one hour prior to service Thursday at the church.
Arrangements are with the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.

David Louwagie, 70, of Milroy, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Redwood Falls Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Milroy, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Milroy and will continue one hour prior to service Thursday at the church.
Arrangements are with the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.
He is survived by his wife Colletta Louwagie of Milroy; son Steve Louwagie of San Antonio, Texas; daughters, Roxanne Stroman of Bloomington, and Cris Knott of Milroy; sister Maurine Knott of Wabasso; and four grandchildren.
David Louwagie was born March 9, 1932, in Green Valley to Maurice and Mildred (Welu) Louwagie.
He served in the U.S. Army.

Harold F. Veenstra, 91, of Springfield, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Springfield Medical Center.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Springfield United Methodist Church, with burial in Springfield City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 8-11:45 a.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, and Thursday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Edna, of Springfield; sons, Mile Veenstra of Clements and Gary of Springfield; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Gentz of Springfield.
He was born Sept. 15, 1910, in Perry, Iowa, to Henry and Jenny (Landis) Veenstra.

Roland Palmer, 77, of Madelia, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Madelia, with burial at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery in Madelia.
Visitation is 8:30-10 a.m. Friday at the Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia.

John 'Jack' Wenger, 82, of rural Lafayette, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at Winthrop Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Anna Wenger of rural Lafayette; daughters, Joyce A. Fransen of St. Paul, Nancy E. Massmann of Sauk Rapids, and Betty J. Wenger of St. Paul; sons, John Martin, Jr. Wenger of Minneapolis, and Merle Eugene Wenger of rural Lafayette; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Brainard of Sedalia, Mo., Betty Masonhall of Postville, Iowa; and a brother, Robert Wenger of Downers Grove, Ill.
He was born Dec. 7, 1919, in Wadena, Iowa, to Chris and Sophia (Frey) Wenger.

Donna Erickson, 73, of 915 South Valley Street in New Ulm, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at her home in New Ulm.
There will be a visitation from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Clarinda Cemetery in Clarinda, Iowa.
Donna is survived by her sons, Chris Erickson of New Ulm, and Barry Erickson and his wife, Christine, of Overland Park, Kan.; grandchildren, Stephanie Richardson and her husband, Hunter, Natalie Bastian and her husband, Joe, Mollie, Abby, and Lindsey Erickson; a great granddaughter, Claire Bastian; and by a brother, Abel Greenway, Jr. of Clarinda, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Lee Erickson; and by a brother, Maurice Greenway.
Donna was born on Feb. 27, 1929, in Clarinda, Iowa, to Abel Sr. and Theo (Adams) Greenway. She graduated from high school in Clarinda, Iowa. On Nov. 7, 1948, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Lee Erickson in Clarinda, Iowa. They moved to New Ulm in the late 1950s and she was employed as a bookkeeper and receptionist for Drs. Kitzberger, Muesing, and Fritsche for many years. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the New Ulm Medical Center Hospice Program.

Blanche Witucki, 90, of Sleepy Eye, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Divine Providence Community Home Chapel in Sleepy Eye, with burial at a later date at the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 1 - 2 p.m. Friday at the Divine Providence Community Home Chapel. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
Blanche was born on June 8, 1911, in Silver Lake, Minn., the daughter of Fred and Anna (Sobeslavsky) Andrews. She grew up and graduated from high school in Silver Lake. Blanche married Daniel Witucki on Sept. 25, 1930, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Silver Lake. The couple made their home in Silver Lake until 1942, when they moved to Minneapolis. They later lived in Frontenac, Minn. and then New Ulm, until retiring in 1973, at which time they moved to Lafayette. Blanche moved to Divine Providence Community Home in May of 1998. She was a member of the Third Order of Lay Franciscans, St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette, Christian Mothers and Catholic Aid.
She is survived by her daughters, Juanita and Gene Carlson of Klamath Falls, Ore., Mary Seetaram of Houston, Texas, Martha Witucki of Sleepy Eye, and Margaret Kaldon of Jackson, Miss., 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Daniel in 1987; two sons, Daniel Jr. in 1957, and Fred in 1991; two sisters, Martha Andrews and Mary Riley.

Roger C. Beckman, 60, of Redwood Falls, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at the Redwood Falls Area Hospital in Redwood Falls.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. today at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James, with burial to follow at West Sveadahl Lutheran Cemetery in St. James.
He is survived by his sister Joyce Sokolofsky of Villard; and brothers, Richard Beckman of Le Sueur, and William Beckman of Greely, Colo.
Roger C. Beckman was born Nov. 5, 1941, to Ellsworth and Mayme (Hoeft) Beckman in Madelia.

Roland Alfred Palmer, son of Albert and Ann (Sekl) Palmer, was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Fairfax. He died Monday, March 11, 2002, at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia. He was 77 years old.
Roland grew up in Fairfax and attended school there. He entered the U.S. Army and served in Europe during WW II. After he returned from the service, Roland made his home in Fairfax and worked as a gas station attendant and later for the Light Plant in Fairfax. He married Marjorie Opdahl on Sept. 27, 1947, in St. Paul. They moved to Madelia in 1956, and he worked at the Municipal Light Plant as an engineer until retiring in 1996. Marjorie preceded him in death in 1997 and in November of 2001 he moved to Luther Memorial Home. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Madelia American Legion Post. He enjoyed fishing, football, baseball and cats.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Huseth and husband David of Edina, and Susan Palmer of Minneapolis; three brothers, Willard of Madelia, Jerome and wife Arlys of Fairfax, and Stanley and wife Marilyn of Rochester; a sister Eileen Thies of Grand Rapids; and a sister-in-law Delores Palmer of Mandan, N.D. Roland was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers, Harold and Elmer.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Madelia with The Rev. Jim Berning officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Madelia. Visitation is Friday from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. at the Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia.

Terrance Krambeer, 85, of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Divine Providence Community Home Sleepy Eye.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, with burial to follow at St Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. There will be a KC rosary at 4 p.m. and a Parish prayer service at 5 p.m., both at the funeral home on Thursday.
Terry was born on Feb. 10, 1917, in Sigel Township, Brown County, the son of Fred and Lena (Schaverstick) Krambeer. He grew up and attended country school and St. Mary's School in Sleepy Eye. Terry married Ordell Soukup on Oct. 7,1939, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Terry worked at Stark Creamery and Sleepy Eye Creamery. He later went to work for the City of Sleepy Eye with the Street Department for many years. Terry was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife Ordell Krambeer of Sleepy Eye; sons, Jack Krambeer of Minneapolis, and Bob and Mary Krambeer of Sleepy Eye; 3 grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Joseph; brothers, Fred and Jean Krambeer, and Francis and Verna Krambeer all of New Ulm; and sister-in-law Arlene Krambeer of New Ulm. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tom, brother, Gervase Krambeer and sister, Delores Bruckbauer.

Bernard A. Noonan, 89, of New Ulm, died March 13, 2002, at Springfield Community Hospital in Springfield.
Funeral services will be private.
Bernard was born Dec. 29, 1912, in Adams, Wis., to Frank and Amalia "Nellie" (Schweiger) Noonan. He was the first baby born in a boxcar in the county. He graduated from Adams Friendship Community High School in 1931 and then attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison for three years. On April 24, 1937, he married Geneva Brabazon. Bernard was a civilian member of the Navy during WWII working with the classified radar installations in Bremerton, Wash. He received numerous awards for presenting courses at colleges in Indiana, Illinois and Massachusetts on marketing and distributing OEM and aftermarket products in the automotive, commercial and military equipment markets. He retired in 1977 as Director of Marketing and Distribution, Automotive and Industrial Products, at Motorola, Inc. in Franklin Park, Ill. He moved to New Ulm in 1998.
He is survived by daughter, Nancy Noonan of New Ulm; a sister, Pat Soucek and various nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geneva; sisters; Malvira and Marion; and a brother, Frank.

Marvin M. Anderson, 84, of South Shore, S.D., and formerly of Bernadotte, died Feb. 15, 2002, in Milbank, S.D.
Funeral services were held Feb. 19, 2002, at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown, S.D. Burial was in the Lakeview Cemetery in South Shore, S.D.
He is survived by his wife Maxine Anderson; daughters, Marlys Englund, and Mary Berg, both of Brookings, S.D.; brothers, Morrell Anderson of Gibbon, Vernon Anderson of Minneapolis, Charles Anderson of Gaylord, and Robert Anderson of Wisconsin; sisters, Marie Abraham of Gaylord, Helen Schlottmann of Stafford, Va., JoAnn Messner of Anoka, and Joyce Schloegel of Roseville; and four grandchildren.
Marvin M. Anderson was born Nov. 17, 1917, to Ernest and Grace (Olson) Anderson in Lafayette.

Alma Rinehart, 99, of New Ulm, died Thursday, March 14, 2002 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the United Church of Christ in New Ulm, with burial to follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Orient Chapter #60, Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a service immediately followIng the funeral at the church.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. The Firle Funeral Home of New Ulm is handling the arrangements.
Alma Anna Johanna Koester, the daughter of immigrant parents Ditrich and Mary (Tappe) Koester, was born April 25, 1902 in New Ulm. She attended New Ulm public schools and business school in Minneapolis. She was united in marriage to Gail Allan Rinehart on June 17, 1930 in New Ulm. They lived in Minneapolis from 1932 to 1937, then returned to New Ulm. She worked as a secretary for Hennings & Meile Insurance and also the former Ideal Feed Company in New Ulm. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in New Ulm; Chapter #60 Order of the Eastern Star, and was a past Worthly Matron.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Blake of Sebastopol, CA; step grandchildren, Cynthia Pinch and her husband John of Graton, CA, Andrew Blake of Bolinas, CA; step great grandchildren, Sarah and Aidan Pinch, Sam Blake; niece, Lois Anderson and her husband Kenneth of Mankato; nephew, Walter Koester and his wife Cleo of New Ulm; great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Alfred Koester, and sister, Elsie Anderson.

Lila Batalden, 87, of Lamberton, died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton, with burial to follow in the Lamberton Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton, and will also continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Lila was born July 10, 1914, in Germantown Township, Cottonwood County, to Ewald and Elsie (Quade) Block. She attended Storden and graduated from Lamberton High School. Following high school, she attended Teachers Training in Lamberton and taught in county school until her marriage to Emrud Batalden on June 16, 1940, at Sharon Lutheran Church in Lamberton. After raising her family, she went back to school at Mankato State University and received her Teacher's Certificate. She taught in Storden and Lamberton schools well past retirement age. The couple lived in Highwater Township until 1988, when they moved into Lamberton. She was a very active member at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday school and holding many offices within the church. She was a charter member of the Highwater Friendly Garden Club and participated in 4H activities. She loved to teach, travel, visit with family, friends and her grandchildren. She enjoyed collecting Angels and Cobalt Blue Glass. She entered Valley View Manor in 1997. She enjoyed being remembered by her former students.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice and husband David Pietruszweski of Karlsted; and Sandra Batalden and friend Don Ahlas of Chaplin, Iowa; three grandchildren, Nathan, Jill and Jenelle Pietruszweski; brother-in-law Edwin Erickson of Lamberton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Reuben and Frances Batalden of Lamberton; sisters-in-law, Ethel Steffen and Cathryn Batalden, both of Lamberton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Emrud in 1998; son James in 1974; three sisters, Leona Hoskins, Edna Erickson and Esther Batalden; and three brothers, Eral, Willard and Raymond.

Joseph Huberty, 95, of Sleepy Eye, died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, and will continue 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Sturm Funeral Home.
Joe was born April 29, 1906, in Watkins, Minn., and graduated from high school in 1918. After attending the St. Cloud Business College for one year, he began his business career in 1925, at Zapp State Bank in St. Cloud, and moved to the Tracy Produce Co. in 1931, where he worked in the areas of accounting, procurement and marketing management. Later, he was employed by the A.J. Pietrus Co. in a similar capacity, and as Vice President from 1952 - 1974, when he retired. Joe served as Director and Officer of the Minnesota State Poultry Association for 10 years and attended many national poultry conventions and conferences. He was elected Tracy City Councilman and Mayor in the 1940s and early 1950s.
Joe is survived by his wife Marie; his four children; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family prefers memorials be given to a charity of one's choice.
