Wilfrid (Billy) Jenniges, 87, of Lamberton, died Monday, April 29, 2002, at Springfield Medical Center in Springfield.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Wanda, with burial in the St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Wanda.
Arrangements are handled by Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton.
He is survived by his sisters, Bertha Altermatt of Wanda, Elaine Rohlik of Wanda, and Jean Deutsch of Ellisworth; and brother, Fr. Leonard Jenniges of Wanda.
He was born Nov. 20, 1915, in Waterbury Township, Redwood County, to John J. and Caroline (Aufderheidi) Jenniges.

Celestine Warner, 82, of Brisbane, Australia, and formerly of Gibbon, died Thursday, April 25, 2002, in Brisbane.
Services were held Saturday, April 27, 2002, in Brisbane.
She is survived by her husband Lloyd; daughter Vicki and her husband Barry Delacoour of Brisbane; sons, William and his wife Fran of Sydney, Robert and his wife Cheryl of Gladstone, and Lloyd and his wife Bonnie of Brisbane; sister, Bernice Pfeffer of Fairfax; brother and sister-in-law Alex and Agnes Guggisberg of Gibbon; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Gertrude Donahue and Mildred Woratschka; and brothers, Clarence and Leon Guggisberg.
She was born Nov. 17, 1919, in Gibbon, to William and Rose (Hillesheim). She joined the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps in 1942, and served as a corporal in New Guinea and the Philippines. She married Lloyd Warner in Sydney, Australia, March 18, 1946, and resided in Burleigh Heads, Australia, until recently moving to Brisbane.

Oscar J. Galstad, 97, of Redwood Falls died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at Wood Dale Nursing Home, Redwood Falls.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service - Redwood Falls.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens
He is survived by his wife Evelyn Galstad of Redwood Fall; sons, Mark Galstad of Redwood Falls, Arnie Galstad of Anchorage, Alaska; daughters, Sonja Galstad of Rochester; five grandchildren : two great-grandchildren;
He was born Feb. 21, 1905 on the family homestead Murray County to John and Marit (Bergsangaard) Galstad.

Keith Ellsworth Reese, of Lafayette, passed away Sunday afternoon April 28, 2002, at his home after suffering from terminal cancer. He was 72 years old.
Services will be held Saturday, May 4, at First Lutheran Church of Lafayette at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour before the service. Burial with military rites by the Lafayette American Legion will be at First Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lafayette immediately following the service. Pastor Robert Olson will officiate.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Reese was born, August 25, 1929, in Gibbon to Howard and Hulda (Fjell) Reese. He married Joyce Peterson on December 10, 1952, at Minnetonka Beach, MN. He was a member of First Lutheran Church of Lafayette.
Mr. Reese was a professional musician beginning his career at the age 15 with the Eddie Wilfahrt Band. He worked with the Six Fat Dutchmen, Sammy Jensen, Guy DeLeo, Tiny Little, Babe Wagner, Wally Pikal, Karl and the Country Dutchmen, the Keith Reese Trio and many other groups. He also served in the United States Army from 1948 to 1949, earning an honorable discharge, leaving the Army with the rank of Corporal. He continued in the Army Reserve for five more years.
He is survived by his wife Joyce; children, Roxanne and husband Viren Brown of Foley, MN, Jefferson Reese and Shirley Skaja of Engelwood, CO, Nancy Reese and husband Gary Buckman of Farmington, NM, Jillian Joycechild of New Ulm, MN and Chris and wife Heather Reese of Cottage Grove, MN; grandchildren, Dylan and wife Alisha Swanton, Sarah, Dakota, August and Elspeth Brown; Carly and Sam Peterson; Madeleine Rose Joycechild; Jake Hunter Reese and great-grandchild Kain Swanton; brothers, Milo and wife Georgia Reese of Salem, OR and Farrell and wife Pat Reese of Clinton, IA and sister Joanne and husband Eugene Abraham of Gaylord, MN; sister-in-law Eileen Willemssen of Tucson, AZ. And many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brothers, Darwin, John Neil and Verle.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the donor's choice.

Grace Janssen92, of Waverly, Iowa, formerly of Gaylord, died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at Bartels Retirement Community in Waverly.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Gaylord, with burial in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Friday at the church.
Egesdal Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by a son, Dale Janssen of Fargo, N.D.; daughters, Shirley Koehn of Waverly, and Virginia Brandvold of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was born Dec. 4, 1909, in Beaver Crossing, Neb. to Chris and Emma (Miller) Reil.

Barbara Kieper, 63, of Sanborn, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Springfield Medical Center Springfield.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sanborn, with burial in Sanborn City Cemetery.
Visitatin will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, and at the church one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her husband, Gerry of Sanborn; daughters, Julie Kohlhof of Sanborn, and Owen Cristel Edwards, Ill.; three grandchildren; and sisters, Jan Kramer of Springfield, Sandy Radel of Spicer, and Carolyn King of Lamberton.
She was born in Springfield on Sept. 21, 1938, to Barton and Leone (Pederson) Meyer.

Harold Feuerhelm, 85, a resident of Palm Springs, Calif., died April 17, 2002, in Palm Springs.
He was born Jan. 20, 1917, to Frank L. and Anna B (Klinger) Feuerhelm in Belle Plaine, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Leonard; his sister Frances (Kay) his first wife of 37 years, Betty L. Harrison Feuerhelm; and a son-in-law Alexander Koziolek.
He married Betty F. Hoy in 1985, in Palm Springs, Calif., and lived there for 25 years.
Harold was a retired mortgage banker, having worked for State Bond & Mortgage Company (New Ulm) for 25 years. During his years in Minnesota he was active in The Lions Club, The Chamber of Commerce, The United Way, The United Church of Christ, and he enjoyed fishing and golfing.
He served in the Army from 1942 to 1946 as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne. He continued to serve in the Army Reserves and retired as a Lt. Colonel.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Hoy Feuerhelm of Palm Springs; three daughters, Jennifer Koziolek of Rapid City, S.D., Susan Sandberg of Baxter, and Melissa Feuerhelm Chester (Richard) of San Diego, Calif.; three stepsons, P Kevin Hoy of Foster City, Calif., Peter Hoy of Kameula, Hawaii., and Tim Hoy of La Mesa, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held in Palm Springs on April 22, with many family members and friends sharing the life and loves of a man who will be greatly missed. His daughter, Jennifer, sang "Amazing Grace," his favorite hymn. An Army detail played taps and performed the flag-folding ceremony.
Memorials are suggested to The Lions Club Sight and Hearing Bank, or the WW II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Opal Wendt, 89, of New Ulm, died Friday afternoon, May 3, 2002 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial at 2 p.m. Monday at the Sanborn City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, and 7 to 9 a.m. Monday at the Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Opal Caroline Waterman, the daughter of George and Lydia (Trapp) Waterman, was born June 30, 1912 in Sanborn, where she attended parochial grade school and graduated from Sanborn High School. She married Wilbert C. Wendt on May 5, 1932 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. They farmed and raised their family in the Sanborn and Springfield areas for several years. They owned and operated the locker plant in Westbrook, later moving to Elbow Lake, and to New Ulm in 1968. She moved to the Sunset Apartments in New Ulm in 1976 and has been a resident of Oak Hills Living Center since 1999. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Survivors include her daughters, Jean Johnson and her husband Donald of Apple Valley, Carol Hoffmann and her husband Allan of New Ulm, sons, Robert Wendt and his wife Carol of Eden Prairie, James Wendt of Big Lake, Kenneth Wendt and his wife Gail of Apache Junction, AZ, David Wendt of Rosemount, and Curtis Wendt and his wife Diane of White Bear Lake; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; sisters, Neota Fehlman and her husband Roman of New Ulm, Martha Haak of Springfield; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Donald Wendt in 2001; granddaughter, Melissa; grandson, Jacob; and sisters Florence Kuehn and Esther Steinberg.

Lyman Poole, 72, of Gibbon, died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Peace Lutheran Church, Winthrop, with full military rites by the Winthrop and Gibbon Honor Guards. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Burnside Cemetery, Red Wing.
Visitation is Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene of Gibbon; daughters, Kimberly Payne of Apple Valley and Kirstin Winger of Hager City, Wis.; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Allen of Red Wing; sister, Delores Wessman of Topeka, Kan.; a half-brother, Dennis of Iowa and a half-sister, Audrey Madigan of Minnesota.
He was born Dec. 22, 1929, to Clyde and Lina (Heise) Poole in Red Wing. He served in the U.S. military during the Korean War.

Anthony J. Edmundson, a stillborn infant, of Lake Crystal, died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at New Ulm Medical Center Hospital.
Private services will be held. Arrangements are with Totzke Funeral Home, of Slayton.
He is survived by his parents, Brian and Tena Edmundson of Lake Crystal; grandparents Marlene and Gaylen Cuperus of Iona, and Dale and Aryls Edmundson of Lake Wilson; and great-grandparents John and Lorraine Cuperus of Fulda.

Gladys Marie Plumley, 80, of Bird Island, died Friday, May 3, 2002, at Rosewood North in Olivia.
Services are 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bird Island.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bird Island and one hour before the church service Tuesday.
She is survived by daughter Joyce Bangston of Leitchfield, Ky.; sons Larry of Owatonna, Randy of Bird Island, Leslie of Olivia, and Lynn of Bird Island; and 11 grandchildren.
She was born on Feb. 3, 1922, to Albert Friedrich Wilhelm Arndt and Maria (Mary) Sophia Dorothea Baumann, in Hector Township, Hector.

Adella H. Schroeder, 94, of Redwood Falls, died Saturday, May 4, 2002, at Parkview Home in Belview.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Monday at Nelson Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.
She is survived by nephew Herman Miller of Brownton; and nieces Harriet Werner of Delhi, and Shirley Chapin of Dodge Center.
She was born on Oct. 26, 1907, to John and Emma (Zaske) Miller in Flora Township, Renville County.

Shirley A. Albrecht, 79, of Redwood Falls, died Friday, May 3, 2002, at Sunwood Good Samaritan Center, Redwood Falls.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service, Redwood Falls.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial at a later date in the Morgan City Cemetery.
She is survived by sons, Charles of Brainerd, Roger of Mankato, Tom of Redwood Falls, Jay of Elk River; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Vivian Van Pelt of Clayton, N.M.
She was born April 4, 1923, in Redwood Falls to William and Lillian (Richter) Netzke.
She served as a clerk in the U.S. Navy from July 1944 to April 1946.

Leo Roy Shattuck, 89, of Lamberton, died Friday, May 3, 2002, at the Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Walnut Grove Funeral Home and will continue at the church one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Grace; son,Stephen of St. Paul; daughters, Alexandra of Shell Lake, Wis., Margaret White of Mesa, Ariz., Kathleen Pearce-Percy of Los Gantos, Calif.; stepdaughter, Lynn Allen McEachran of Wyoming, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was Nov. 18, 1912, to Roy and Clara (Warner) Shattuck, in Sparta, Wis.

James P. 'Jim' Stevensen, 81, of New Ulm and formerly of Nicollet died Saturday, May 4, 2002, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet with burial in the Hebron Cemetery in rural Judson. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post 510 of Nicollet.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley Stevensen of rural New Ulm; daughters and son-in-law, Ann and David Loberg of New Ulm, Nancy Brock of St. Peter; sons and daughters-in-law, Russell "Butch" and Pat Stevensen of St. Peter, Daryl and Barbara Stevensen of New Ulm; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Agnes Leonard of Nicollet, Rose "Bid" and Richard Meurer of Nicollet; a brother, Peter Stevensen of Nicollet; and sisters-in-law, Arlene Stevensen of Madelia, and Marion Stevensen of Nicollet.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Jacob "Tut" Stevensen, and Philip Stevensen.
He was born on July 28, 1920, in St. Clair to James, Sr. and Rose (Denn) Stevensen. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Medic overseas. He married Shirley Gleason on April 10, 1946, at the Brighton Methodist Church in Brighton Township, Nicollet County. After marriage they farmed in New Sweden Township, Nicollet County for over 30 years. He and his wife also managed the Nicollet County Poor Farm for 10 years. They retired in 1983.

Daniel Anderson, 49, of Tracy, died Sunday, May 5, 2002, at home.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Church in Tracy.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church with a 7 p.m. prayer service.
Tracy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
