Ernest Kulberg, 86, of Fairfax, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at the Fairfax Community Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, at the Swedlanda Lutheran Church in Palmyra Township, rural Hector, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. today at the Swedlanda Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Thursday.
Arrangements are with the Hughes Funeral Home.
He is survived by his brother Andrew Kulberg of Minneapolis.
Ernest Martin Kulberg was born April 21, 1916, in Palmyra Township, Renville County, to Berge J. and Alida (Kristenson) Kulberg.

Beverly Gail Lenning, 66, of Prior Lake, died Monday, June 10, 2002, at her home.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James, with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Odin.
Visitation is 8-11 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home.
She is survived by daughters, Peggy Franz of Prior Lake, Therese Van Cleve Scherer of Shakopee; son, Curtis Lenning of Butterfield; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Terrance "Lee" Bean of Butterfield; and sister, Joy Lenning of Butterfield.
She was born Oct. 23, 1935, in Comfrey to Richard and Mildred (Metteer) Bean.

Michael Powell, 28, of Brooklyn Park, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Sunday, June 9, 2002.
He is survived by his father Mike Powell of Anchorage, AK; mother Susan Rogers Marcotte of Brooklyn Park; son Dylan Powell of Edmund, OK.; sister Michelle (Doug) Tapio; nephews, Ryan, Brandyn and Tyler Tapio; niece Sarah Tapio; special loving friend Bobbi Enger of New Ulm; many loving relatives and friends
Visitation is 5 - 8 p.m. today at the Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 50th and Vernon at Hwy. 100. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Rd., Golden Valley (763-545-5659) with visitation one hour prior to service at the church.
Arrangements are with the Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel. 952-920-3996.

Esther Schreyer, 93, of Pine Island and formerly of New Ulm, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at the Zumbrota Community Hospital in Zumbrota.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2002, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery in New Ulm. Visitation will be 10 - 11 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
Esther is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Darlene Schreyer of Pine Island, and Dan and Diane Schreyer of Monticello; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Myrtle Anderson of New Ulm.
Esther was born Feb. 19, 1909, in Nicollet County to Gullick and Amelia (Sandquist) Johnson. She married George Schreyer on Aug. 24, 1931, in Minneapolis. After marriage they lived in New Ulm, where she worked at the Dakota Hotel in New Ulm. After her husband's death she then worked for Brown & Bigelow and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, until she retired and moved back to New Ulm. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in New Ulm.

Earl Blank, 70, of rural Nicollet died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at his home.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 14, at Oakwood United Methodist Church in New Ulm, with burial in the Zion Cemetery in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Friday.
Earl is survived by his wife Kathy Blank of rural Nicollet; sister and brother-in-law Lois and Joe Steece of Nicollet; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Elaine Blank of Nicollet, Lowell and Carollee Blank of Kasota, Harlan and Mary Blank, and Clifford and Judy Blank all of Nicollet; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Earl was born on April 19, 1932, in Nicollet to Clarence and Lillian (Miller) Blank. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 - 1956 and was stationed in Missouri, Texas, and Germany. He married Kathleen Fitzner on Aug. 11, 1979, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. He farmed his entire life. He was a former member of the Zion E.U.B. church in Nicollet and was a member of the Nicollet County Farm Bureau and a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church in New Ulm.

Ronald 'Ron' Blue, 59, of St. Paul, formerly of the Lower Sioux Community, died Monday, June 10, 2002, at St. Paul.
Visitation is 9-10 a.m. Friday at Nelson Martin Funeral Home, Redwood Falls
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 14, at St. Cornelia's Episcopal Church, the Lower Sioux community, Morton. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He is survived by sister, Sally Milroy of Shakopee; brothers, Gerald Blue of Morton, Larry Blue of Minneapolis, Michael BLue of rural Morton, Patrick Blue of rural Morton.
He was born July 11, 1942, in Pipestone to Howard Wilson and Violet Pearl (Jones) Blue.

Esther Grosklags, 93, formerly of Fairfax died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2002 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon with burial in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Fairfax.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the time of the service at the funeral home.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon is in charge of the arrangements.
Esther is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Stanley Lauwagie of Gibbon; sons and daughters-in-law, LeRoy and Lorie Grosklags of St. James and Richard and Darla Grosklags of Prior Lake; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice Pingel of Norman Oklahoma; a sister-in-law, Florence Grosklags, a resident of the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudolph Grosklags in 1969; a grandson, Stanley Lauwagie Jr.; and brothers, Ed Domke, Clarence Domke, and Roland Domke.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1909, in Sleepy Eye to William and Rose (Vollmer) Domke. On April 20, 1931, she married Rudolph Grosklags at the St. John German Lutheran Church in Fairfax. After marriage they lived in the Fairfax area. They moved to Bloomington in 1954 where she worked for Daytons for over 25 years. She was a member of the Bloomington Lutheran Church in Bloomington.

Dennis Luke, 67, of Hutchinson, died Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz., following liver transplant surgery.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Beverly; and three children, Denise Luke, Lori Lewis and her children, Jennifer, Christopher, Stephanie, and Michael, Jeff Luke and his wife Mary and their children, Elizabeth, Katherine and Julia. He is also survived by his nephew Matthew Meyer and his wife Janell; and his father-in-law Clem and his wife Ruth.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. today at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Home in Hutchinson.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday. June 14, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, with reviewal for one hour preceding the funeral.

Darline Benedict, 74, of Fairfax, died Thursday, June 13, 2002 at the Fairfax Community Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2002 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Fairfax with burial in Ft. Ridgely Cemetery, Ridgely Township, Nicollet County, Minnesota.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2002 at the church and Monday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax is handling arrangements.

Helen Marie Moen, of Lino Lakes, formerly of Morton, died Monday, June 10, 2002, as the result of injuries sustained in a car accident.
Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.
Services are 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Morton City Cemetery.
She is survived by children, Hilma Buboltz of Foley, Roger Moen of New Lisbon, Wis., Linda Jensen of Lino Lakes; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was born Dec. 11, 1919, in Sisseton, S.D., to Jack and Mary (Seikora) Pitts.

Sr. Theodorita Schotzko, 85, of Donaldson, Ind., died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, while visiting relatives in Stillwater.
Born Nov. 6, 1916, in Springfield, to Theodore and Barbara (nee Gimpl) Schotzko. Sister served in the healthcare field both in nursing and hospital administration for 45 years in Indiana, Illinois and Minnesota. She served as a board member at Loretto Hospital in New Ulm. After retirement, Sr. Theodorita ministered in an outreach program in Cairo, Ill., for five years and was involved in parish ministry in Quincy, Ill., for six years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Theodore, Joseph and Leo; sisters, Sr. M. Alana Schotzko P.H.J.C., Johanna Kreitinger, Sr. M. Pachomius Schotzko O.F.F., Christine Wolf, Margaret Ostlie, Anne Schotzko and Monica Keute.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends and the Sisters of the community of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ.
Vigil service will be 7:30 p.m. today at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave. N., Stillwater. Visitation will be 1/2 hour prior to service. Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Donaldson, Ind., with interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery to follow.

Edward F. 'Ed' Schroeder, 92, formerly of 1212 North Jefferson in New Ulm died Monday, June 10, 2002 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday and from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday.
Ed is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Donald Graham of Chesterfield, Missouri, Sandra and Fred Stolt of Huron, South Dakota, Debrah and Frank Krogman of San Clemente, California; a son, Merlin Schroeder of Denver, Colorado; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marion Schroeder on August 28, 2001; three sisters, and two brothers.
He was born on January 10, 1910, in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County to Albert and Emilie (Dallmann) Schroeder. He married Marion Seibel on May 29, 1938, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. He farmed in the Nicollet area until 1969. They then moved to New Ulm where he was employed as a custodian at D.M.L.C. in New Ulm until he retired. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Darline Benedict, 74, of Fairfax, died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at the Fairfax Community Home, in Fairfax, MN.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Interment will be at the Ft. Ridgely Cemetery in Ridgely Twp., Nicollet Co.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the time of services at the church on Monday. Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by her son, Raymond Benedict of Fairfax; a daughter, Ruth Benedict of Fairfax; brothers, Earl Peterson of Fairfax and Orlo Peterson of Corpus Christi, Texas; and a sister, Carol Thompson of Franklin.
Darline Ruth Benedict was born March 12, 1928, in rural Franklin, Minn. to Raymond and Louise (Haugley) Peterson.

Laura Glaesemann, 94, formerly of New Ulm, died on Wednesday, June 12, 2002, in Edwardsville, Illinois.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at St. Paul's Ev. Luth-eran Church in New Ulm, with burial in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Monday and 7:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, and at the church Tuesday one hour before the service.
Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or School, or to Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School.
She is survived by one daughter, Marion Sperling and husband, John, of Edwardsville, Illinois; one daughter-in-law, Margaret Drescher and husband, David, of Alden, Minnesota; one brother, Elmer Uhlig and wife, Annette, of Amberg, Wisconsin; one sister, Ruth Hinnenthal, of Minnetonka, Minnesota; five grandchildren: Elaine Samuelson and husband David of St. Paul, Minnesota, Paul Glaesemann of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Robyn Glaesemann, of New Ulm, David Sperling of Questa, New Mexico, Carol Sperling and husband Bill Stalker of Mosca, Colorado; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and one son, Eugene Glaesemann, in 1985.
She was born on September 19, 1907 in Flora Township, Renville County, Minnesota, the daughter of Adolph and Minnie Zaske Uhlig, and stepdaughter of Emma Albrecht Uhlig.
She married Howard Glaesemann in 1932. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1975.
Mrs. Glaesemann worked for many years as head cook in the school kitchens of Martin Luther College and St. Paul's Lutheran School, retiring in the 1970s. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Ladies Aid, and worked as a volunteer at Treasure Haus, Inc., and at Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School until moving to Illinois in 1997.

Lena E. Latzke, 91, of Belle Plaine, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plain is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by 16 nieces and nephews, including several in the Arlington and Gaylord area.
She was born June 8, 1911, on the family farm in Belle Plaine Township to Frank and Otillie (Tonn) Latzke.
