Delorias Langhoff, 76, of Lafayette, died Saturday, July 13, 2002, at her home.
Services are 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, at First Lutheran Church in Lafayette with Pastor Robert Olson officiating, Burial will be in the First Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lafayette.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until noon at Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Delorias was born on Sept. 8, 1925, in New Ulm to Herman and Frieda (Gehrke) Boelter. She attended school in New Ulm. She married Emery Langhoff on June 20, 1945, in New Ulm. They lived in California for a short time after their marriage and then moved to Lafayette. Delorias was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Lafayette and a member of Women in the Evangelical Church in America (WELCA). She served as a Sunday School teacher and a Bible School teacher. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a den mother in the Cub Scouts and a Gray Lady at the nursing home in Lafayette. Delorias enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards, baking and going to the lake.
She is survived by sons, Norman and his wife, Faye of Mission Viejo, Calif., James and his wife, Jorja, and Steven and his wife, Bev, all of Lafayette; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Erwin Boelter of New Ulm; sisters, Agnes Langhoff, Lorraine Krohn, Marion Brueske and Geneva Thomas, all of New Ulm, Irene Vogel of Courtland, Frances Miller of Hutchinson, Bernice Polzin and her husband, Orville of Gaylord; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Dec. 24, 1995; brothers, Lester and Norman; and a sister, Lucille.

Howard Schultz, 71, of Minneapolis, formerly of Fairfax, died Saturday, July 13, 2002, at the Minneapolis Veterans Home.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Swedlanda Lutheran Church in rural Hector with burial in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Fairfax.
Visitation is two hours prior to the service at Swedlanda Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are with the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax.
He is survived by his sister, Darlene Schermann of Brainerd; and brothers, Harvey Schultz of Watertown, Harland Schultz of Champlin; Howard Oscar Schultz was born on June 4, 1931, in Martinsburg Township, Minn., to Walter and Olga (Sandgren) Schultz.
He served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force.

Norman J. Hoscheit, 68, of Caledonia, died suddenly, Sunday, July 14, 2002 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, LaCrosse, Wis.
Mass of Resurrection will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at St. Mary's School, Caledonia. Father Donald J. Schmitz and Deacon Norman Schauls will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Holy Family Hall, St. Mary's School, Caledonia, where a Knights of Columbus rosary will be said at 5:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the school Thursday. Memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Church Refurbishing Fund or for masses. McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia is assisting the family with arrangements.
He is survived by his wife Darlyne of Caledonia; eight children: Tom (Manon) of Caledonia, Tim (Kim) of New Ulm, Cindy of Hoffman Estates, Ill., Colleen (Lance) Wolper of Caledonia, Patty (Bruce) Haugo of Inver Grove Heights, Greg (Faith) of St Charles, Joe (Connie) and Jim (Deb) both of Caledonia; 15 grandchildren: Brad, Heath, Cole, Jacob, Cady, Adam, Jared, Seth, Lucas, Jennifer, Nicholas, Hunter, Gabrielle, Carley, Macey, and he was eagerly awaiting the birth of three more grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Merlin (Jeanne) of Caledonia, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joe and Mildred Graf of Caledonia, and a very special extended family member, Denise.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and granddaughter Marie.
He was born March 28,1934, in Caledonia to Nicholas and Mary (Schauls) Hoscheit. He married Darlyne Graf on November 12, 1955 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, LaCrosse, Wis.
Norman was a lifetime farmer in the Caledonia area and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and traveling with his wife and friends. He was known for taking something small and was able to create something useful and memorable. He loved life to the fullest and was a good listener and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed forever.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Imperial Waikiki Board of Directors. He was a past member of the AMPI Board of Directors, Houston County Commissioners, Utica Creamery Board of Directors, Trustee for St Peter's Catholic Church, and was a PCA and Farm Credit director for 33 years.

Connie Rademacher, 45, of 329 South Front Street in New Ulm died Monday, July 15, 2002, at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, with burial in the City Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday and will continue from 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Connie is survived by her mother Lucille "Lucy" Rademacher, of New Ulm; two brothers, Todd Rademacher and his wife Anne of New Ulm, and Larry Rademacher of New Ulm; nephews, Kyle and Bret Rademacher of New Ulm; and by many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Lawrence Rademacher on March 25, 1990, and by her grandparents.
Connie was born on March 7, 1957, in Milbank, S.D., to Lawrence and Lucille "Lucy" (Folk) Rademacher. She attended school in Rosen, until moving to New Ulm in 1969 and attended school in New Ulm. Connie had worked at MRCI in New Ulm for many years. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm.

Carla (Saxton) Ahlstrom, 50, of 4152 W. 132nd St., Savage, died on Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2002, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savage. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the church, and will also continue one hour prior to service at the church on Monday.
Carla is survived by husband Michael; son Justin and fianceé Becky Cole; daughter Abbey; parents Earl and Marjorie Lindstrand; brothers, Gary Saxton, and Charles Saxton and wife Laurie; sisters, Susan Nelson, and Lila Heins and husband David; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Lyle Saxton; mother-in-law Dorothy Ahlstrom; and sister-in-law Barbara Saxton.
Carla was born on Jan. 9, 1952, in New Ulm, to Lyle and Marjorie Saxton. She attended Winthrop schools, St. Cloud State and St. Thomas Universities, where she received her master's degree in special ed. She taught in Gaylord for several years.
After moving to Savage, she became a special ed teacher in the Burnsville schools, until her illness forced her retirement in the fall of 2001.
On Dec. 27, 1975, she was married to Michael Ahlstrom in Winthrop. She was devoted to her family and friends and a strong advocate of children with special needs.

Delma A. Boese, 80, of Gaylord, died Thursday, July 18, 2002, at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, with burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Gaylord.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Egesdahl Funeral Home in Gaylord.
She is survived by daughters, Gayla Schmidt of Maple Grove, Debra Hetrick of Nelson, Wis., and Doreen Bristol of Plymouth; a sister, Erna Henke of Gaylord, and nine grandchildren.
She was born May 8, 1922, in New Auburn Township, Sibley County, to August and Louisa (Alsleben) Hahn.

JoAnn Neises, 75 of Winthrop, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at her son's home in rural Fairfax.
Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, July 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Winthrop with burial in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Loretto.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday with parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Irene Carter, 95, of Gibbon, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James.
Funeral service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, July 24, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of the service at the church on Wednesday.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon is in charge of the arrangements.
Irene is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Donavon Meyer of Fremont, California, Kathleen and Milo Holland of Butterfield, Beverly De Wall of San Diego, California, Patricia and Dennis Lenz of Minnetonka and Judith and Kay Kramer of Gibbon; a son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Lenora Carter of St. James; seventy-five grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Bertha Carter of Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.H. Carter in 1968; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Irene was born March 10, 1907, in Lake Mills, Iowa, to Edward and Clara (Helgeson) Ausen. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1925. On April 3, 1926, she married Clinton Howard Carter in Albert Lea. After marriage they lived in various places while her husband worked for the railroad. They lived in Ormsby for twenty-five years, later moving to Lake Mills, Iowa. They moved to Gibbon in 1957 where she was a homemaker, and worked for Red Owl Grocery Store in Gibbon. She did seasonal work for the Green Giant Packing Plant, and worked for many years at Hands in Winthrop. She had been a resident of the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax since August 2001 and a resident of the Pleasant View Good Samaritan Home in St. James since January 2002. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon and the Ladies Aid at church.

JoAnn Neises, 75, of Winthrop, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2002, at her son's home in rural Fairfax.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. today at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Winthrop. Interment will be 2 p.m. today in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Loretto.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church today.
Dalin-Hantge Funeral Home handled arrangements.
JoAnn Neises was born on Oct. 13, 1926, in Loretto. She was the daughter of Lawrence and Mae (Schmidt) Arens. She was baptized as an infant and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth. She attended high school in Mound. She was honored as Homecoming Queen in 1944, and graduated in 1945.
On May 3, 1947, JoAnn Arens was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Neises. There marriage was blessed with three children, Gerald, James and Jean. JoAnn and Bob resided in Mound, Cold Spring, Glencoe, and Park Rapids, Minn., and also Aurora and Barrington, Ill. Over the years, JoAnn owned and operated numerous businesses. JoAnn and Bob traveled extensively world wide, due to her husband's employment. JoAnn was active in the Winthrop VFW Post 4078, and Cooties and was an Auxiliary member. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and visiting with friends. JoAnn was a resident of Winthrop for 21 years.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Mae Arens; and brother Floyd Arens.
She is survived by her husband Bob Neises of Winthrop; children, Gerald "Jerry" Neises and his wife Terry of Andover, James "Jim" Neises and his wife Ilene of Fairfax, and Jean West and her husband Bruce of Fort Myers, Fla.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Tillie Scrimgeour, 103, of Gaylord, formerly of Winthrop, died Friday, July 19, 2002, at the Gaylord Lakeview Home in Gaylord.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Faith United Church in Winthrop, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel handled arrangements.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Tillie Scrimgeour was born Aug. 4, 1898, in Dryden Township, Sibley County, to Louis and Ottilie (Benke) Gasow.

Florence Zarn
WINTHROP -- Florence M. Zarn, age 96, of Winthrop, formerly St. James, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2002, at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center in Winthrop.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2002, at the Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James. Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery in St. James. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop, with visitation one and one half hours prior to the service at the church in St. James.
Florence Mildred Zarn was born on Feb. 15, 1906, in Lewisville. She was the daughter of George and Cora (Scribner) Davis. She was baptized as an infant and later was confirmed in youth. She received her education in her home area.
On Nov. 16, 1925, Florence Davis was united in marriage to Emil Zarn in St. James. Florence and Emil resided in the St. James. In 1966, they each started managing a ice skating rink for the City of St. James, which they continued for twenty-five years. Florence and Emil shared 56 years of marriage before he passed away in October of 1982.
Florence enjoyed spending her spare time gardening, growing flowers, crocheting, painting crafts and embroidery. She received the distinction of being the oldest living Scribner family member.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents George and Cora Davis; husband Emil; sons, Lawrence and Glenn; infant daughter Eleanor; brothers, Lyle, Lloyd, Glenn and Willard; sisters, Maude and Ora.
Florence is survived by her daughter Esther Current and her husband Donald of Winthrop; grandchildren Roxanne Carlson and her husband Dale, Scott Current and his wife Kim, Kurt Witbeck, Ken Witbeck and his wife Judy, Karl Witbeck and his wife Sue, Emil Zarn and his wife Donna, and Val Zarn and his wife Amy; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Dona Hart of Truman, Margie Phipps of Longville, LaRae "Betty" Dammon and her husband Earl of Ontario, Calif., and Suzie Grefe of Mesa, Ariz.; sister-in-law Alice Davis of Belgrade; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sister Bonita Brand, 78, died on July 17, 2002, at Lutheran General Hospital in Illinois, after suffering with Sjogren's Disease for several years.
Born in St. George, on Nov. 4, 1923, she was the second child of Rose Ann Gleisner and Edward A. Brand. She is survived by her sisters, Celine (Eino) Siira and Beata Chute; and her brothers, Eugene (Lillian-deceased), James (Doris), and Anthony (Carol); besides many devoted nieces and nephews.
Bonita entered the Sisters of Christian Charity on Nov. 21, 1941. She made her profession in 1950, and began her career in education as a teacher in 1945 at St. Augustine School, St. Louis, Mo. For the next 31 years she taught at St. Boniface, St, Louis, Mo; St. Joseph, Waconia; Gehlen, LeMars, Iowa; St. Elizabeth, Minneapolis; St, Raphael, Chicago; St. Mary, Riverdale, Ill.; Notre Dame, Clarendon Hills, Ill.; Josephinum High School, Chicago; and Pope John XXIII, Evanston, Ill.
When a new group formed from the Sisters of Christian Charity Community, Bonita joined the Sisters of the Living Word on Aug. 18,1975. Bonita is remembered for her story telling gift, her cookie baking skills, her musical talent of playing the guitar, harmonica and drum and her cheerful, welcoming personality. Her enthusiasm and love for life grounded in a deep love for God permeated her generous spirit.
Her wake was held at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles, Ill. Liturgy of the Resurrection was at 10 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf Church in Niles, Ill., and interment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Ill., on July 20, 2002.

Earl Patten, 86, of St. Cloud formerly of Redwood Falls, died Thursday, July 25, 2002 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Stanley E. Reese, 74, of Winthrop, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at the Olivia Health Care Center.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2002, at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery. Full military rites will be by the Winthrop Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop. Visitation continues one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
He is survived by his mother Florence Reese of Renville; sisters, Marlene Kohout of Oliva, Lorraine Kohout of Danube, and Carol Seehusen of Olivia; and brothers, Aaron Reese of Granite Falls and Leland Reese of Minnetonka.
Stanley Earl Reese was born April 12, 1928, in Bird Island, to Clifford and Florence (Lothert) Reese.
He served in the U.S. Army.

Marvin Arends, 86 of Wabasso, died Thursday, July 25, 2002 in the Redwood Area Hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Wabasso.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Sunset Funeral Home in Wabasso and continue Wednesday one hour prior to services in the St. John's Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. The Sunset Burial Association is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife Mildred of Wabasso, two daughters; Myra Hennes of Maple Grove, and Ardell Lommen of Wabasso; four grandchildren; three great grandsons; two sisters; Mrs. Vernie Lange and Arlene Wetter, both of Lamberton.
Marvin William John Arends was born Monday, April 10, 1916 in Waterbury Township, Redwood County, to J. K. and Sievie (Raveling) Arends.
