Margaret E. Huebner, 83, of Sartell, formerly of Winthrop, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at Country Manor Health Care & Retirement Center in Sartell.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 13 at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop. The Rev. Paul Tessmer will officiate and burial will be in the Winthrop Cemetery,
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
Arrangements by Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.
Survivors include her sister, Ruth Grochow of Maple Plain and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore; sister, Dorothy Hahn; brother, Edwin Witt and one infant sister, Viola Witt.
Margaret was born January 29,1919 in Winthrop, to Herman and Martha (Schauer) Witt. She married Theodore Huebner on June 27, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop. Margaret was a lifelong resident of Winthrop prior to moving to Sartell in 1991. She worked as a nurses aide for many years at the Winthrop Nursing Home. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Allen G. Thompson, 77, of Park Rapids, Minn. died on Friday, Aug. 9, 2002 at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Two Inlets, Minn., with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Two Inlets.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Park Rapids. A 7 p.m. prayer service will be held.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine M. Thompson of Park Rapids; children, Patricia Weier of Sioux Falls, S.D., Lee Thompson of Spicer, Larry Thompson of River Falls, Wis., and Mary Tyer of Show Low, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; sisters, Yvonne (Harold) Korthuis and Diane Plowman, both of Willmar; brothers, Carlos Thompson of Mason City, Iowa, and Quinton Thompson of Glencoe; and several nieces and nephews.
Allen was born on May 17, 1925 in Svea, Minn., the son of Tony and Elvira (Lindblad) Thompson. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, in the Pacific from 1943 until 1946.
In 1956 they moved to New Ulm where he worked over 30 years as a bread salesman.

Henry Pongratz, 83, a resident of the Lake Crystal Health Care Center in Lake Crystal and formerly of rural Nicollet died Saturday, August 10, 2002, at the Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brighton Township, Nicollet County, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 pm and Tuesday from 7:30-11 a.m. at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of the service at the church on Tuesday.
Henry is survived by his sisters, Bertha Bunderson and Hilda Schmidt both of Glencoe; a brother, Herman Pongratz, a resident of the Lake Crystal Health Care Center in Lake Crystal.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ernest, Otto, and Albert Pongratz; and by sisters, Annie Warrol, Minnie Pongratz, and Adaline Johns.
Henry was born January 8, 1919, in Nicollet County, to Joseph and Anna (Drill) Pongratz. He attended country school in Nicollet County. He had worked at the New Ulm Country Club Golf Course and had done farm work for various farmers. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brighton Township, Nicollet County

Edward Peck, 92, of Arlington, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Lake Sarah Lutheran Church, with burial in the Hoiland Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. at today at the Tracy Area Funeral Home in Tracy, and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday.
He is survived by his wife Margaret; sons, Darrold of Worthington, Robert of Harris, and Dennis of Plymouth; daughter Betty Roiger of Arlington; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and sister Edna Schmidt of Walnut Grove.
Edward Samuel Peck was born April 10, 1910, to Clarence and Maria Peck in Revere.

Genevieve 'Jenny' Petersen, 90, of New Ulm died Monday, August 12, 2002, at the Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Jenny is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Ken Rolloff of New Ulm; a son, Ken Petersen of Hudson, Wisconsin; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emor "Pete" Petersen on November 22, 1962; a sister, Angeline Guemmer; brothers, Harold and Roman Arbes; and a daughter-in-law, Audrey Petersen.
Jenny was born August 29, 1911, in New Ulm to Charles and Wilhelmina (Windschitl) Arbes. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School in New Ulm. She married Emor "Pete" Petersen on October 28, 1940 at the St. George Catholic Church in West Newton Township, Nicollet County. Jenny lived her entire life in New Ulm until April 22, 1996 when she moved to the Lafayette Good Samaritan Center. On September 8, 2000, she moved to the Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan. She worked at various businesses during her lifetime including the Wearwell Garment Factory, Webcor, Cudahy Packing Plant, Tony Downs in Madelia and Oswald Laundry and Dry Cleaning. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. She enjoyed watching TV game shows, listening to old time music, putting jigsaw puzzles together and working on crossword puzzles.

Roman J. Rothmeier, 78, of Gerald, Mo., and formerly of Redwood Falls and Clements, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at a carecenter in Gerald, Mo.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Clements.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.
He is survived by his wife Clara Rothmeier of Gerald, Mo.; son Michael Rothmeier of Rogers, Ariz.; daughters, Patricia Kerkhoff of Logan, Iowa, Jeanette Rainwater of Fort Colins, Colo., and Cheryl Garner of Sullivan, Mo; seven grandchildren; brothers, Don Rothmeier of Clements, and Norbert Rothmeier of Elkton, S.D.
Roman J. Rothmeier was born Aug. 9, 1924, in Sleepy Eye, to Michael and Wilhelmina (Boettger) Rothmeier.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart.

Louella Champa, 88, of Red Wing, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at her home.
She was born May 20, 1914, in Casselton, N.D., to Thomas and Emily (Forstner) Birkeland. She had operated the Chalet Photography Studio in Red Wing.
Survivors include brother, Leigh Birkeland of Red Wing; sister, Miriam (Lee) Vetter of Phoenix, Ariz; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at the Church of Saint Joseph with Father Thomas Walker officiating. Burial will be 3:15 p.m. Thursday at the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. today at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing, and will continue one hour prior to services Thursday at the Church.
Memorials are preferred to Red Wing Area Hospice.

Catherine Groebner, 83, a resident of the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at the New Ulm Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of the service at the funeral home.
She is survived by her sister, Marie Clyne of Sleepy Eye; and brothers, Willard Groebner of New Ulm, and Donald Groebner of New Ulm.
Catherine was born on Oct. 27, 1918, in New Ulm, to Anton and Catherine (Zupfer) Groebner.

Frederic P. Riebel, 74, of Long Lake, formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002 at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia.
Services will be noon Thursday, Aug. 15 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at the church.
He is survived by a sister, Pauline "Polly" of Apple Valley.
He was born Nov. 26, 1927 in Prairieville Township to John and Emma (Weber) Riebel.

Dennis Schnobrich, 82, of Ridgeway on German in New Ulm, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Full military graveside honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm veterans organizations.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-10 a.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The St. Patrick's Council of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council will pray a combined rosary at 6:30 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Dennis is survived by his sons, Rick Schnobrich and his wife Mary Lee of Orono, James Schnobrich and his Partner Chris Daniel of San Ramon, Calif., and William Schnobrich and his wife Blanca of Sylmar, Calif.; daughter Charyl Braun and her husband Paul of Pasadena, Calif.; four grandchildren, Alexis Schnobrich and her fiancé Dr. Christian DuBois both of New Haven, Conn., Camille Schnobrich of Chicago, Ill., Kipling Braun of Denver, Colo., and Selby Schnobrich of Sylmar, Calif.; sister Rita Gareis of New Ulm; and lovingly survived by his companion Ruth Furth of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife DeLores "Lolly" Schnobrich on Sept. 4, 1999; a son in infancy; a brother, Robert Schnobrich and a brother in infancy.
Dennis was born July 29, 1920, in New Ulm, to Robert and Gertrude (Dedrich) Schnobrich. He attended Holy Trinity High School in New Ulm, and was a graduate of the class of 1939. Dennis served in the United States Army during WWII. He served in the Pacific with the 50th Engineering Regiment where he was given a field commission to 2nd Lieutenant. Lieutenant Schnobrich received 6 bronze stars. He returned to New Ulm, where he married DeLores Swenson on Dec. 31, 1945, at the St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette.
Dennis worked for Peter's Meats for many years in New Ulm and then moved to the Twin Cities to become sales manager for Ambassador Foods. Dennis and Lolly lived in Bloomington prior to Dennis returning to New Ulm in 1999 after Lolly passed away. Dennis was an active member of the New Ulm Community for many years. He served on the New Ulm City Council, the New Ulm Fire Department, the New Ulm Public Utilities Commission and numerous fund-raising committees for St. Mary's Catholic Church. Dennis was an active member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, a member of the New Ulm Fire Department for 20 years, the American Legion Post 132, the VFW Post 1648, the Knights of Columbus as a 4th degree knight, and the Lions Club International.

Marcus F. Toltzman, 73, of Olivia, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Zion Lutheran Church in Olivia, with burial in the Olivia Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia and continues one hour before the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine; sons, Charles of Winthrop and Bruce of Jamestown, N.D.; brothers, Alfred Toltzman of New London, Aaron Toltzman of Deerwood, Reuben Toltzman of New Ulm, Frederick Toltzman of New Ulm, Willard Toltzman of Olivia; sisters, Christel Enstad of Olivia, Deloris Toltzman of Olivia; four grandchildren; one stepgrandson; five great-grandchildren.
He was born Feb. 25, 1929 in New Ulm to Frederick and Estella (Klotz) Toltzman.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Charles Hoffrogge, 51, of St. James, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at First Lutheran Church in St. James, with burial in the Mount Hope Cemetery in St. James.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. today and 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Sturm Funeral Home in St. James, and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Friday.
He is survived by his wife Bonni Hoffrogge of St. James; daughters, Kristi Rust of St. James, and Kari Wensauer of Mountain Lake; five grandchildren; and sisters, Darlene Therkelson of Jeffers, and Monica Geihl of Hanley Falls.
Charles Richard Hoffrogge was born Oct. 17, 1950, in Springfield to Siebo and Gladys (Harold) Hoffrogge.

Dolores Peterson, 78, of the Sunset Apartments in New Ulm died Tuesday, August 13, 2002, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the St. Gregory the Great Catholic Cemetery in Lafayette.
Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday and from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a rosary at 5:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. both Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Dolores is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Haas of Gibbon, Becky and Marty Torgerson of Ely, Cindy and Eric Rimmer of Prior Lake; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Judy Peterson of New Ulm, Lon Peterson and his fiancee, Tara Cathcart both of Los Angeles, California, Steve Peterson of New Ulm, Tim and Tracy Peterson of Prior Lake; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Zitzman of St. Petersburg, Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Alma Stadick of New Ulm, Clarence and Meta Stadick of Nampa, Idaho, Norbert Stadick of Aloha, Oregon; and a sister-in-law, Leona Stadick of New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo R. Peterson on March 23, 1990; a brother, Joe "Sep" Stadick; a sister-in-law, Joyce Stadick; a son-in-law, Kenneth Haas; and a brother-in-law, George Zitzman.
She was born on February 15, 1924, in New Ulm to Joseph and Theresia (Sperl) Stadick. She married Leo R. Peterson on May 6, 1942, at the St. George Catholic Church in St. George. After marriage they farmed in Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County, until 1981 when they retired but continued to live on the farm. They moved into New Ulm in 1989. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm and a member of C.A.S.T. in New Ulm and was a founding member of the C.A.S.T. choir and was a member of R.S.V.P. in New Ulm.

Carlton LeRoy Iverson, 64, of Jeffers and formerly of Lamberton, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. today at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church today.
He is survived by his mother Violett Witt of Storden; daughters, Angela Sykora of Jeffers, and Julie Smith of Springfield; son David Iverson of Fairmont; five grandchildren; brothers, Alfred Iverson of Minneapolis, Ernie Iverson of Storden; and Dale Iverson of St. Louis Park; and half-brother Augie Witt of Albert Lea.
Carlton LeRoy Iverson was born May 13, 1938, in Lamberton to Carl and Violet (Nessen) Iverson.

Robert Bendix, 72, of Echo, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002 in his home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002 at Peace Evangelical Church in Echo with burial in the Echo City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Funeral Home in Echo and Sunday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife Virginia of Echo; three sons, Wyatt of Echo; Scott of St. Cloud and Paul of Farmington; 8 grandchildren; and a sister, Marian Kuehn of Renville.
He was born Dec. 2, 1929 in Posen Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota to Carl and Margaret (Holmes) Bendix. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea.

Marilyn Dording, 75, of Winthrop, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at the New Ulm Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Winthrop, with burial at 1:15 p.m. in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery in Cairo Township, Renville County.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8 a.m. Monday at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass, at the church on Monday. The rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel on Sunday.
