Eva Ziegenhagen, 95, of Springfield, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at Sundown Lutheran Church in Springfield, with burial at the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5­8 p.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and 1­2 p.m. Tuesday at Sundown Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
Eva is survived by daughters, Cara Waltrip of Des Moines, Iowa, Lora Frederiksen of Springfield, Evangeline Gisvold of Peterson, and Alyce Widmer of Ham Lake; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Leola Jahr of Vashon, Wash., and Mildred Meyer of Mahnomen; and brother Russell Jensen of Springfield.
Eva Berdine Ziegenhagen was born June 26, 1907, in Sundown Township, Redwood County, to Nels and Carrie (Butler) Jensen.

Elsie T. Berdan, 95, of Sleepy Eye, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at Sleepy Eye Hospital in Sleepy Eye.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, with a parish prayer service at 5 p.m., and at the church Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
She is survived by two brothers, Richard Berdan of Sleepy Eye and Roland Berdan of Fairfax, and a sister, Marcella "Buddy" McReady of Berwyn, Ill.
She was born in St. George, MN on May 27, 1907, to Fred and Sophie (Reinhart) Berdan.

Mildred Johnson, 91, of New Ulm, formerly of Lafayette, died Saturday evening, September 21, 2002, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at First Luth-eran Church in Lafayette with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church. Schmucker Funeral Service of New Ulm is handling the arrangements for the family.
Mildred Olivia Bullemer, the daughter of August and Emma (Fetzner) Bullemer, was born September 23, 1910 in Gibbon. She attended Gibbon public schools where in addition to her studies, she played on the girl's basketball team. After graduating from Gibbon High School in 1928, she worked in the family general store in Gibbon. She was united in marriage to Warren Johnson on March 20, 1935 in Gibbon. They farmed near Clear Lake until 1941, when they moved their family to Lafayette. Milly worked as a cook for the Lafayette Public Schools and also was an active volunteer for the Lafayette Good Samaritan Center for many years. Following her husband's death in 1986, she continued to make her home in Lafayette and moved to the Good Samaritan Center in 1997. In May of 2000, she became a resident of Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lafayette.
Survivors include her daughters, Patty Rodewald of New Ulm, Sherri Schroeder-Duerr and her husband Richard of Vadnais Heights; a son, Donald Johnson of Lafayette; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Roy Bullemer and his wife Milly of Gibbon; brothers-in-law, Earl Johnson and his wife Sharon of Sherburn, Gordon Johnson of Prescott, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ethlyn; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Johnson; sons-in-law, Fritz Rodewald and Roger Schroeder; three brothers and three sisters.

Iver Weckwerth, 87, of Arlington, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington, with burial with military honors at the Arlington Public Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel of Arlington; a son, David of Pelican Rapids; a daughter, Constance Fox of St. Petersburg, Fla., 3 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Iver was born on August 6, 1915 at the family farm in Kelso Township, Sibley County, to William and Alma (Bernstein) Weckwerth. He served in the U.S. Army from April 18, 1941, to Feb. 11, 1945.

LeDale J. Helling, 55, of Hanska, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in St. Cloud.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002 at Albion Lutheran Church, St. James with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept., 24, 2002 and 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James and Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
Survivors include two daughters, Krista Cullen of Sauk Rapids and Karyl Helling of Mankato; a son, Kasey of Hanska; two grandsons; three brothers, Gerald of Hanska, Richard and Brent, both of St. James; a sister, Gloria Sandmeyer of St. James.
He was born Oct. 19, 1946 to Julian and Myrna Jeanette (Bloomquist) Helling in St. James. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from Dec. 8, 1965 to Oct. 11, 1967.

Russell Johnson, 79, of Winthrop, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at Gaylord Lakeview Home in Gaylord.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, Sept.26, 2002, at 11 a.m., at Bernadotte Lutheran Church in rural Lafayette with interment in the church cemetery. Military rites by the Winthrop Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and also from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at Bernadotte Lutheran Church.
Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop is handling arrangements.
Russell is survived by his wife, Delores Johnson of Winthrop; children, Kevin Johnson and his wife, Rosanne of Bernadotte, Ronald Johnson and his wife, Denise of Bernadotte, Kathryn Stuber and her husband, Michael of Wyoming, MN; grandchildren, Brent, Beth, and Addie Johnson, Amanda Felger and her husband, Matthew, Karen and Scott Johnson; Emilie, Lacey, and Brittany Stuber; brother, Gordon Johnson and his wife, Olive of Minneapolis, MN; sisters, Mae Ann Swenson and her husband, Stan of Naples, FL, Lorraine Bruss and her husband, DelRoy of Edina; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Memorials preferred to the Bernadotte Lutheran Church Restoration Fund. Please call the Funeral Chapel at 507-647-5326 for directions to the church, due to road construction.

Gerald O. Roiger, 65, of Springfield, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Angeline of Springfield; 3 children - Sandy Betlach of North Mankato, Greg Roiger of Springfield, and Christine Davidson of Springfield; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Alice Ziegler of Fairfax, and Margie Hacker of Morgan; a brother, Loren Roiger of Des Moines, Iowa; and his step mother, Phyllis Roiger.
Gerald was born May 29, 1937 to Otto and Louise (Fischer) Roiger at the Springfield Hospital. He served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 6, 1955 to Nov. 19, 1957.

Brianna Nicole Krosch, 2, of 617 S. Payne St., New Ulm, died Monday evening, Sept. 23, 2002, at her home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with burial to follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7-8:30 a.m. Friday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Brianna Nicole Krosch, the daughter of Jeffrey and Kari (Christopherson) Krosch, was third born of triplets on May 12, 2000, in Minneapolis. Her death was the result of complications since birth.
Survivors include her parents; sisters, Kiara Marie, Jennifer Lee and Lexi Jean Krosch; maternal grandparents Keith (Rusty) and Sharmen Christopherson of Courtland; paternal grandparents Richard and Mary Krosch, Sr. of New Ulm; maternal great-grandmother Maxine Christopherson-Vick and her husband Verdean of Blanchardville, Wis; paternal great-grandparents Emil and Elsie Ihrke of Windom; aunts, uncles, cousins, many caregivers, and those special people whose lives were touched by Brianna.

Raymond C. Weber, 84, of Sanborn, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002 at Valley View Manor, Lamberton.
Services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sanborn with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002 and 7:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield and Thursday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Irene of Sanborn; daughters, Judith Grummert of Coon Rapids and Joyce Buffington of Bloomington; a son, Dean of Windom; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Lester of Winthrop; sisters, Evelyn Hellickson of Sanborn and Berneatta Schmid of New Ulm.
He was born Jan. 1, 1918 to Paul and Bertha (Beier) Weber in Germantown Twp., Cottonwood County.

Margaret 'Mitzi' Churchill, 82, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002 at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Springfield with burial in Brookville Dannebod Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002 and 7:30-9 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer Churchill of Springfield; six children, Karen Welch of Faribault, Jim Hansen of New Richland, Jolayne Hauge of Apple Valley, Cindee Broeska of Carman, Man., Sandy Gentz of Husum, Wash. and Mary Salonek of Springfield; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; step children Jane Nelson of Minneapolis, Barb Donoho of Minneapolis, Bob Finger of Springfield, and Charles and Tom, both of Chaska; 10 step grandchildren; seven great step grandchildren; a sister, Priscilla Starn of Eagan; a brother, James Schwartz of Sleepy Eye.
She was born Sept. 4, 1920 to Franklin and Hertha (Peterman) Schwartz in rural Sleepy Eye.

Elmer F. Habeck, 74 of Franklin, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at his home in Franklin.
Burial will be Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Arrangements are with the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax.
Elmer is survived by his sons, Joe Habeck of Gibbon, and Dale Habeck of Fife Lake, Mich.; daughter Bonnie Habeck of Litchfield; nine grandchildren; brother William Habeck of Carver; sisters, Rosemary Cameron of Le Sueur, Betty Borgardt of Belle Plaine, and Elaine Meyer of Belle Plaine.
Elmer Franklin Habeck was born May 12, 1928, in Henderson. He was the son of William and Rose (Schwartz) Habeck.

Stella Neyers, 92, of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at Divine Providence Community Home Chapel in Sleepy Eye, with burial at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Friday with a 4:30 p.m. prayer service at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, and 9 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Divine Providence Community Home Chapel.
Stella was born on Sept. 24, 1910, in Granville, Iowa, to Paul and Margaret (Arens) Neyers. She moved to the rural Sleepy Eye area as a young girl. She attended school in District No. 29 Country School and St. Mary's in Sleepy Eye. When the family retired from farming, they moved into Sleepy Eye, where Stella worked as a clerk at the McKnight Store in Sleepy Eye. Later she worked as a receptionist for Dr. Rounds and Dr. Kiefer in their dental clinics. Stella lived at Ross Park Apartments until she moved to the Sleepy Eye Care Center. She loved to read and listen to the radio.
She is survived by her sisters, Frances Steffen and Marie Paulson, both of Sleepy Eye; sister-in-law Elma Neyers of Winthrop; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Norbert Neyers, Elmer Neyers and Raymond Neyers; sisters, Martha David and Sister Anna Mary Neyers; sisters-in-law, Martha (Hillesheim) Neyers and Elva (Grundmeyer) Neyers; brothers-in-law, Peter David, Raymond Steffen and Ivan Paulson; and nephews, Jim Steffen, Philip Steffen, Robert David, Loyal David and Sylvester Volz.

Karen Woods, 55, of Winthrop, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at Sibley Medical Center in Arlington, following a courageous battle with Cancer.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop.Interment will be in the Winthrop Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop.
Karen Jean Woods was born Aug. 21, 1947, in New Ulm. She was the daughter of James and Marlys (Winter) Woods. Karen was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop.
Karen graduated from Winthrop High School in 1965. She continued her education at St. Cloud State College, where she graduated in 1970. After college, she held employment at Mid-America Dairymen in Winthrop. Karen began working at the Winthrop State Bank on May 10, 1976. She served as head bookkeeper until poor health forced her into early retirement.
Karen was a member of the Winthrop American Legion Post # 314 Auxiliary and the Winthrop V.F.W. Post # 4078 Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Winthrop Golf Club. She was an avid bowler and golfer. Karen loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her job and working with the public.
Karen was preceded in death by her father James Woods; and her grandparents, Henry and Elizabeth Winter, and Pete and Carrie Woods.
Karen is survived by her mother Marlys Woods of Winthrop; brother Randy Woods and his wife Emma of Winthrop; nieces, Shelly Redmond and her husband Mischa of New Prague, and Amy Staupe and her husband Jim of Lonsdale; great-niece Grace Redmond of New Prague; great-nephew Turner Staupe of Lonsdale; aunts, Elaine Franke and her husband Clarence of Gaylord, and Geri White of Lafayette; and many other relatives and dear friends.

Robert H. 'Korny' Kornmann, 68, of Menomonee, Wis., and formerly of New Ulm, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at Webb Lake in Burnett County, Wis.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at the Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster, Wis.
He is survived by his wife Paulette; sons, Mike Kornmann and Mark Kornmann; two granddaughters; a brother Lloyd Kornmann; sisters, Karen V. Kornmann and Marlene Heideman.

Elton Streeter, 78, of Hector, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002 at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 at the United Methodist Church in Hector with burial in Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home.

Gleva L. Uhlken, 95, of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002 at Wood Dale Nursing Home, Redwood Falls.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at First Lutheran Church, Dundee with burial in First Lutheran Cemetery, Dundee.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls.
She is survived by a son, Barr of Cary, Ill.; daughter, Loni Bultman of Redwood Falls and a sister, Twyla Dorpinghaus of Fulda.
She was born Jan. 25, 1907 to Henry and Carrie (King) Olson on Jan. 25, 1907 in Southbrook Township, Cottonwood County.

Lyle Hillesheim, 68, of Gaylord, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002 at his home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Gaylord with burial in Gaylord Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Sunday, and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord.
He is survived by his wife Betty; sons Mark of Buffalo and Greg of Eagan; daughters Vicky Goettl of Mankato, Lynn Tommelleo of New Castle, Pa., Lori Martens of Gaylord and Jan Bratsch of Glencoe; brothers Jerome of Sleepy Eye, Gilbert of New Ulm, Gildard of St. Peter, Joe of Leavenworth and Steve of New Ulm; sisters, Juliet Sprenger of Winthrop, Rose Zollner of New Ulm, Ruth Prokosch of New Ulm, Kathy Fegie of Hector, Annette Helget of Hanska and Mary Stadick of New Ulm; 18 grandchildren and one great grandson.
He was born Dec. 1, 1933 to Hubert Sr. and Katherine (Schunk) Hillesheim in Leavenworth Township, Brown County. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.
