Malinda D. Lehmberg, 84, of Arlington, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at Sibley Medical Center, Arlington.
Services are noon, Friday, Dec. 6, at Zion Lutheran Church in Green Isle Township with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m. Friday until services at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Kolden Funeral Home, Arlington.
She is survived by her sisters, Regina Olson of Cokato and Lorna Ziegler of Green Isle.
She was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Helen Township, McLeod County, to William and Metha (Dittmer) Lehmberg.

Ethel J. Haas, 86, of Sleepy Eye, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center,
Services are 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Haas of Sleepy Eye; sisters, Elva Moll of Sleepy Eye and Marge Kramer of Sleepy Eye.
She was born Nov. 23, 1916, in Stark Township, rural Sleepy Eye, to Arthur and Rosella (Jungers) Bellig.

Rosaria C. 'Dolly' Harris, 92, of Winsted, formerly of Fairfax, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at St. Mary's Care Center in Winsted, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian burial is 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax with burial in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery in Cairo Township, Renville County.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Friday, at Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. and a Christian Mothers Rosary at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Visitation will continue from 7:30-8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by daughter, Lois Reiner of Hutchinson; son, Leonard J. Anderson of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Amelia Sauser of Lakeville; and brother, Walter Grosam of Cedar Lake, Ind.
Rosaria Catherine "Dolly" (Grosam) Harris was born on Dec. 12, 1909, in Severance Township, Sibley County, Minnesota, to John and Anna (Schwab) Grosam.

Lucille M. Griep, 85, of Arlington, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002 at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2002 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
The Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Beth Litfin, Barbara Panning and John Griep, all of Arlington, Tom Griep of River Falls, Wis., and Steven Griep of Red Wing; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
She was born March 1, 1917, in St. Paul, to Arthur and Emma (Glockner) Klostermann.

Donna Snyder, 59, of Grants Pass, Ore., formerly of Comfrey, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002.
Services were Friday, Dec. 6, 2002 in Oregon.
She is survived by her husband, Marlow "Toby" Snyder; a sister, Marlene Syverson of New Ulm; and a brother, Ronald Windschitl of Comfrey.
She was born Dec. 18, 1942, to Norbert and Loretta Windschitl.

Lailah Nelson, 78, of rural Winthrop died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at the Bernadotte Lutheran Church in Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday.
Lailah is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Linda Nelson of Winthrop, and Dawn and Lee Hendrycks of rural Gaylord; sons, David Nelson, and John Nelson, both of rural Winthrop; seven grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine and Harold Honken, Sr. of Nicollet, and Orpha and Marvin Hermel of rural Nicollet; a brother and sister-in-law, Oberlin and Rosalyn Ellingson of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Morris Nelson on Nov. 10, 2001; a stillborn daughter, Sigrid Nelson; and a sister, Elaine Ellingson in infancy.
She was born on June 22, 1924, in Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County, to Ole and Alma (Lokensgard) Ellingson. She married Morris Nelson on Dec. 27, 1946, at the home of her parents in Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County. After marriage they moved to California on Feb. 18, 1947. In 1953, they moved back to Minnesota. In 1955 they purchased a farm in Alfsborg Township, Sibley County. She was a member of Bernadotte Lutheran Church in Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County and was a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the church choir.

Ewald William "Skinny" Yackel, 98, of Roseville, formerly of Sanborn, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn, with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Sanborn.
Visitation will be held Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield is handling arrangements.
He is survived by his sons, John of Circle Pines and James of Dyer, Ind.; seven grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
He was born July 1, 1904, in Sanborn to Peter and Margaret (Goehring) Yackel.

Bernadine L. Burchett, 90, of Redwood Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at St. Mathias Catholic Church, Wanda, with burial at at St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery, Wanda. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mathias Catholic Church. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Mathias Catholic Church.
He is survived by his son, Roger, of Eagan; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, William, of St. Paul; sisters, Viola Timm of St. Paul, Josepha Wurscher of Lino Lake; and Cecilia Reimer of New Ulm.
He was born Sept. 20, 1912, in Willowlake Township, Redwood County, to William and Margaret (Backus) Eichten.

Wallace "Wally" Leander, 69, of 123 North Franklin Street in New Ulm, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at the United Church of Christ in New Ulm, with burial in the Leander Family Cemetery in Cook. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Monday and 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Tuesday.
Wally is survived by his wife Margaret "Peggy" Leander of New Ulm; daughters, Kristie Mitchell and her special friend Ken Haasken both of Waconia, and Becky Leander of Los Angeles, Calif.; a son, Keith Leander and his special friend Dawn Rustad, both of Anoka; grandchildren, Luke Mitchell, Ashley, Jordan and Corey Leander; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Bill Forsline of Chisholm, Bette and Earl Grano of Cook, and Rose and Larry Schwensen of Central City, Neb.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Maurice and Betty Lou Leander of Boulder, Colo., and Byron and Ginny Leander of Cook; a family friend, Lori Leander of Lyle; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Wally was born June 26, 1933, in Cook, to George W. and Eva (Johnson) Leander. He attended School in Cook and was a 1951 graduate of Cook High School. He attended Bethel College and also the University of Minnesota, both in Minneapolis. Wally also served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in May, 1961. He married Margaret Burke on Jan. 8, 1966, at the Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Duluth.
After marriage they lived in Thief River Falls, where he worked as a owner/operator trucker. They moved to New Ulm in 1986, where he worked as an owner/operator trucker. He had worked for Minnesota Valley Transport in New Ulm for the past 18 years.

Helen Johnson, 88, of Hector, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector with burial in the Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and continues one hour before the service at the church.

Florene Magin-Sampson, 81, of Redwood Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Hospice Home Suites, Elko.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11, at First United Methodist Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
Arrangements are handled by Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls
She is survived by sons: Jerome Magin of Prior Lake, Gerald Magin of Brooklyn Park; daughters, Janet Davis of Blaine, Judy of Osburn, Idaho; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene Potter, of Viera, Fla. and sister: Joyce Polly, Schaumburg, Ill.
She was born in Burnstown Township, Brown County, on August 5, 1921, to Albert and Lola (Bunnell) Potter.

Bernadine L. Burchett, 90, of Redwood Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Rice Memorial Hospital, Willmar.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at First United Methodist Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour before the service today at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service.
She is survived by sons, James Burchett of Hammondsport, N.Y. and Frank Burchett of Redwood Falls; a daughter, Judith DeVries of Louisville, Colo.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was born July 28, 1912, in Dunn County, N.D. to Ray and Gussie (Foland) Morrell.

Michael L. Carrier, 62, of 9411 60th Ave., Apt. 6K, Elmhurst, Queens, New York, 11373, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen; children, Juliette and husband Patrick Garrison, Kathleen Carrier, Denise and husband William Wharton, and David and wife Ryanne Carrier; a sister, Mary Lu Brendon; brothers, James Carrier and Richard Carrier, and grandchildren Luke, Spencer and Dulcimer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Lucille Carrier of New Ulm.
A funeral mass was held Dec. 7.

She is survived by sons, Clifford of Henderson, Ky. and Chris of Hector; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was born Feb. 15, 1914, in Des Moines, Iowa to Claude and Nellie (Peterson) Davenport.

Mabel M. Tessmer, 79, of Brownton, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at her home on Lake Marion.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., today and 7:30-11a.m. Wednesday at Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop and continues one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
She is survived by her husband, Helbert Tessmer of Lake Marion; daughters, Marilyn Boerner of Gaylord, Joleen Bartels of Winthrop, and Denise Wieman of Owatonna; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Vernon Kohls of Brownton; sisters, Rhodella Ahlbrecht of Hutchinson, Helen Schmidt of Brownton and Lois Berger of Gibbon.
Mabel Marion (Kohls) Tessmer was born June 23, 1923, in Penn Township, McLeod County, Minn., to August and Anna (Ahlbrecht) Kohls.

Kenneth M. Varpness, 84, of Lamberton, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
Services are 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lamberton, with burial in Lamberton Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Tuesday and 7:30-9 a.m., Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton and Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his son, Lee of Montevideo; stepson, James Lendt of Waterford, Wis; two grandsons; two stepgrandsons; two granddaughters; brothers Norman of Cottonwood and Irving of Stewartville.
He was born Dec. 12, 1917, in rural Cottonwood to Albert and Mollie (Miller) Varpness.

Bernice Dallmann, 83, of rural North Mankato, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at the Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the time of the service at the church on Saturday.
Bernice is survived by by her son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Margaret Dallmann of rural Nicollet; a daughter-in-law, LaRanda Dallmann of rural Nicollet; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Armin Dallmann on March 9, 2002; and a son, Ron Dallmann in 1996.
Bernice was born Nov. 4, 1919, in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County, to Frederick and Wilhemia (Wilking) Mueller. She attended school in Judson. On Nov. 14, 1939, she married Armin Dallmann at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nicollet. After marriage they farmed the family farm in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County, where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nicollet and the Ladies Guild at church.
