Ariana Williams Buboltz, 15 months, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis as a result of an accident at home.
Mass of the Angels will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of the arrangements.
Ariana is survived by her parents Angela Marie Buboltz and Han Williams of Minneapolis; stepbrother Hanz Williams of Minneapolis; grandparents, Monica and Bob Buboltz of New Ulm, Chong and Mark Williams of Minneapolis; great-grandmothers, Marie Rubischko of New Ulm, Helen Buboltz of Fairfax, and Margaret Mitchell of Chicago, Ill.; an uncle, Paul Buboltz of New Ulm; and aunts, Markleta Williams and Melanique Williams both of Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her great-grandfathers, Harvey Buboltz and Frank Rubischko.
Ariana was born on Oct. 19, 2001, in Minneapolis.

Ella M. Fries, 95, of Arlington, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Arlington, with burial in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Green Isle.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday.
She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Paulson of St. Paul, Marvilla Buck of Mankato, Mary Ann Harder of Le Sueur, and Kathy Biersdorf of Mound; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Ella M. Fries was born Nov. 6, 1907, in Atkin, to Henry and Mary (Husfelt) Burdorf.

Ada Wendlandt, 81, of Hutchinson, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Hutchinson Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Penn Township, McLeod County, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday and 8 - 9 a.m. Saturday at the Hantge Funeral Chapel in Brownton, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
She is survived by her husband Ervin Wendlandt of Hutchinson; daughters, Marna Paehlke of Brownton, and Mavis Mielke of Brownton; sons, Arlyn Wendlandt of Litchfield, and Merrill Wendlandt of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rufina Henke of Gaylord, Ella Neubarth of Gaylord, Elva Wendlandt of Brownton, Elsie Schulz of Winthrop, Verona Katzenmeyer of Brownton, and MaryAnn Schatz of Brownton; and brother Lester Lindeman of Brownton.
Ada Martha (Lindeman) Wendlandt was born on June 2, 1921, in Penn Township, McLeod County, to Herman and Elsie (Becker) Lindeman.

Helen J. Western, 81, of Redwood Falls, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Redwood Area Hospital
Services are 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, at First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls with burial in Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Friday, at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls and one hour before the service Saturday at the church.
She is survived by son, Dan Western of Falls Church, Va.; daughters, Elaine Hagen of Belview, Gwenneth El Sawi of Highland, Md., Marilee Cantelomo of Marshfield Hills, Mass., Loreen Western of New Market, Md.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Carl Wright of Aitkin, and Norman Wright of Aitkin.
She was born July 11, 1921, in Aitkin County, Minn., to Claude and Averil (Shisler) Wright.

Florence Jones, 93, of Gaylord, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Elder Homestead, Minneapolis.
Services are 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Colonial Church of Edina with burial in Gaylord Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m., Saturday, at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord.
She is survived by sons, Bruce of St. Louis Park and Douglas of Edina; brother Leland Priebe of Hadley and sister Amelia Gleason of Slayton; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was born Sept. 20, 1909, to Ernest H. and Anna Michaelson Priebe.

George V. Schmit, the father of Fr. George, former pastor of the Cathedral, died Thursday morning, Jan. 23, 2003, at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at the Church of Our Lady in Manannah. Wake will be 4 - 9 p.m. Friday at Dingmann's Eden Valley Funeral Home and 9 - 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Stanley S. Schneider, 85, of 1327 Oak Street in New Ulm died Thursday, January 23, 2003 at the Abbott - Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2003 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery, Soldier's Rest Section. Full Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm Veterans Organizations.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 6 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Hazel C. Schneider of New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne Sjobeck of Portland, Oregon, Kathy and Jerry Sellner of Austin, Texas, Linda and Bob Mertz of New Ulm, Sue Stoltenburg of Detroit Lakes; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Becky Schneider of New Ulm, Terry and Kate Schneider of Edina, Doug and Oralie Schneider of Oxford, Massachusetts, Kevin Schneider of Sleepy Eye, Dan and Mary Schneider of Woodbury; 28 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a sister, Marion Huesmann of Albert Lea. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George, Dick and Jimmy Schneider; a sister, Evelyn Michaletz, and a son-in-law, Gerry Sjobeck.
He was born on May 23, 1917 in New Ulm to August and Josephine (Haag) Schneider. He married Hazel Gleisner on June 17, 1941 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from May of 1942 to October of 1945. After the service he farmed in New Ulm until 1997. He served as a board member of the the Essig Coop for 27 years and also served on the board of the August Schell Brewing Company in New Ulm.
Stan enjoyed woodworking and made items of his own design for his family and the New Ulm Area Catholic Schools fund raisers. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, the Albert Nagel V.F.W. Post 1648 and the Seifert-Bianchi American Legion Post 132 of New Ulm. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be given to the New Ulm Area Catholic Schools (N.U.A.C.S.)

Marie Steinbeisser, 78, of Willmar and formerly of the Olivia area, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, in Willmar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar, with Fr. Joe Stein-beisser as celebrant. Interment will be held at 2:15 p.m at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Olivia.
Visitation will be on Sunday at the Church of St. Mary from 5-8 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements are with the Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
Marie Jeanette (Reynolds) was born on November 12, 1924 in Milroy, Minnesota, the daughter of Ira James and Mollie (Leonard) Reynolds. Their family lived in the Milroy, Tracy, Walnut Grove, Delhi and Redwood Falls area. Marie graduated from Redwood Falls High School.
On December 20, 1942, Marie was united in marriage to Andrew Wolfgang Steinbeisser at Delhi, Minnesota. This union was blessed with 11 children. They lived in Franklin from 1942-44, Lamberton from 1944-49, Milroy from 1949-56, and Olivia 1956-92 where they farmed. She was living in Willmar at the time of her death.
Surviving are her children, Robert (and Cynthia) Steinbeisser, Morton; Lynda (and Larry) Erickson, Hutchinson; Alan (and Nancy) Steinbeisser, New Ulm; James (and Kathy) Steinbeisser, Olivia; Grace (and Don) Johnson, Hector; Richard (and Kathy) Steinbeisser, Olivia; Kathi Landgraff, Bird Island; Fr. Joseph Steinbeisser, Willmar; Andy (and Tammy) Steinbeisser, Danube; and Ruth (and Mark) Schulte, Olivia; 30 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Alice (and Ivan) Olson, Deerwood; Joyce Koenig, Morgan, and Delores Perry, Lincoln, NE; brothers and sisters - in-law, John (and Dorothy) Steinbeisser, Olivia; Joe Steinbeisser, Morton, Catherine (and Archie) Ostrander, Watertown, S.D., Sr. Leona Steinbeisser, St. Paul; and Agnes Chemlar, Ada; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband Andrew, Marie was preceded in death by her parents, son, William in 1956, daughter-in-law, Linda (Koerner) Steinbeisser, sister, Betty Carver and brother, Leroy Reynolds.

Raymond J. Wensauer, 77, of Essig, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with Fr. Samuel Perez officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.
Visitation will be on Sunday, from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Monday, from 7:3O a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. There will be a parish prayer service at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Agnes Wensauer of Essig, children and their spouses; Joseph and Laura Wensauer of Parkers Prairie, James and Patricia Wensauer of Comfrey, Kathy and Ivan Radloff of Winthrop, Mary and Dale Wiegmann of Willmar, David and Valerie Wensauer of Sacred Heart, Barbara and Joel Lingbeek of Renville; 15 grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and brothers-in-law, Alois and wife, Deloris Fink of Fairfax and Joseph Fink of Sleepy Eye. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frank Wensauer.
Raymond was born on July 29,1925 in Mulligan Township, Brown County, the son of Frank and Mary (Sellner) Wensauer. Raymond grew up and attended country school in Mulligan Township and also attended St. Mary's School in Sleepy Eye. After his schooling he farmed in Mulligan Township. He married Agnes Fink on May 13, 1947 at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth. After their marriage, they lived and famed in Mulligan Township until their retirement. After retiring, Raymond and Agnes moved to the Godahl area and later to Essig. He was a past member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Comfrey and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Raymond enjoyed going to auctions, traveling, old time music and spending time with his family.

David Jon Kretsch, 38, of Forest Hill, Md., formerly of New Ulm, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, in Forest Hill, Md.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Forest Hill, Md.
Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. vigil service at Evans Funeral Chapel in Forest Hill, Md.
He is survived by his wife Jacqueline R. Kretsch; sons, Matthew D., Brandon N. and Jonathan R. Kretsch; mother Elizabeth V. Kretsch; and brothers, James and Daniel Kretsch.
David Jon Kretsch was born June 22, 1964, in New Ulm to Elizabeth (Rewitzer) and Herman Kretsch.

Alice "Al" Beager, 88, of Redwood Falls, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at Redwood Area Hospital, Redwood Falls.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at Cornerstone Christian Church in Redwood Falls. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in rural, Redwood Falls.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, January 26, at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls.
She is survived by a son, John of Redwood Falls; a sister, Helen Downs of Hemet, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
She was born March 14, 1914, in LuVerne, Iowa to John and Hannah (Gunderson) Hewett.

Clinton Daak, 75, of Buffalo Lake, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at the Hutchinson Community Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart, with burial in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Stewart and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Richard 'Dick' Chycner, 66, of 410 West Second Street in Winthrop died Saturday, January 25, 2003, at the Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery in Winthrop.
Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Winthrop Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday.
Dick is survived by his wife, Hazel Chycner of Winthrop; daughter and son-in-law, Deanna Chycner and Paul Leverson of Savage; son, Dan Chycner of Duluth; grandsons, Daniel Chycner and Thomas Chycner; sister, Rose Keleman of Lockport, New York; niece, Cheryl Keleman of Tonawanda, New York; nephews, Michael Keleman of Lockport, New York, John (Jack) Keleman of Tonawanda, New York; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Geraldine and Fred Trebelhorn of Winthrop, Jeanette and Bill Trantham of Hamburg, Viola Renner of Hutchinson, Mildred Knick of Glencoe; Edna and Greg Knoll of Elk River.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Veronica Chycner; brother, Walter Chycner; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gladys and Rudolph Rettmann; and a brother-in-law, Jerome Renner.
He was born on August 27, 1936 in Buffalo, New York to William and Veronica Chycner. He graduated from the Randolf High School in Buffalo, New York in 1954. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1958 and attained the rank of corporal. On July 21, 1962 he married Hazel Rettmann at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon. After marriage they lived in Bloomington and he worked as a furniture refinisher at Gabberts in Edina. He later worked as a mailman for the U.S.Postal Service. In 1994 they moved to Winthrop. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Winthrop.

Larry Hulke, 60, of rural Courtland died Saturday, January 25, 2003, at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center in Winthrop from Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the Courtland Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, rural Courtland.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and will continue from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and then for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
Larry is survived by his wife, Marilyn Hulke, of rural Courtland, a son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Carla Hulke of Courtland; grandchildren, Mitchell and Anthony Hulke; his father, Walter Hulke, a resident at Ridgeway on German in New Ulm; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Tom Johansen of Menomonie, Wisconsin and Sandy and Dan Meyer of rural Courtland; a brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Sharon Hulke of Courtland, and by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Jo Hulke, in infancy, his mother, Evelyn Hulke; and by his grandparents.
Larry Hulke, the son of Walter and Evelyn (Schmidt) Hulke, was born on September 30, 1942, in New Ulm. He attended school in Courtland then St. Paul's Lutheran School in New Ulm, and was a 1960 graduate of the New Ulm Public High School. On September 26, 1964 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Hoffmann at the Courtland Evangelical Lutheran Church in Courtland.
After marriage he farmed in Courtland Township, Nicollet County and also work for many years at Superior Concrete in Mankato doing both up until November 22, 2002 when his health forced him to retire. Larry was a member of the Courtland Evangelical Lutheran Church in Courtland and had served on the church council, many of those years as council president. He was a member of the Courtland Fire Department, the Courtland Rec Association, the Searles/Courtland Shipping Association, the Courtland Lions Club, and the New Ulm Men's Bowling Association. During his life he participated in many sports and had coached baseball teams in Courtland. He enjoyed bowling up until his health failed and loved spending time with his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the donor's choice.

Hilda Christensen, 85, of Redwood Falls, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at Redwood Area Hospital.
Services are 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls with burial in Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home, Redwood Falls and Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by sons, Paul and Chris of Redwood Falls, Nels of Wabasso; daughter Elizabeth Schoer of Wabasso; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Richard Raddatz of Redwood Falls; and sister Leona Lantto of Annandale.
She was born Oct. 1, 1917, to Emil and Anna (Struckmann) Raddatz in New Avon Township, Redwood County, Minnesota.
