Beatrice Stewart, 81, of Hector, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Cosmos Healthcare Center.
Services are 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at Swedlanda Lutheran Church, rural Hector. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Visitation is 10 a.m. until services Monday at Swedlanda Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home, Hector.
She is survived by son Rev. Charles Stewart of Hector and five grandchildren.
She was born to Clairis and Irmagarde (Batcher) Kendall on July 1, 1921, in Staples.

Alice Radel, age 76, of Evan, MN, died Wednesday, February 19, 2003, at Valley Lutheran Hospital in Mesa, AZ.
Services are Wednesday February 26, 2003 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, MN, with internment in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye, MN.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, MN. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Alice was born on July 8, 1926 near Walnut Grove, MN, the daughter of Lily (Kroschel) & William Maas. She grew up in rural Redwood County and attended District #59 Country School for a few years. She moved with her family to Sleepy Eye where she attended District 421 Country School, St. John's Parochial School and Sleepy Eye Public High School. After high school Alice attended Normal School in Mankato for a couple of years and then taught country school in Evan. She married Donald P. Radel on March 6, 1948 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home in Wanda for a few years before moving to a farm South of Evan. They made their home in Evan for many years where Alice was the postmaster for 23 years. Alice was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and was active in the ladies aid. She was also a member of the N.A.P.U.S. Alice enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Arizona, playing cards and was a 4-H leader when her children were younger, Alice especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Don Radel of Evan., children, Gary Radel of Waconia, Carol & husband Dave Jacobson of Wells and Marc & wife Sue Radel of Evan, eight grandchildren, Jason, Josh, Travis, Jacob & Kevin Radel, Rob & Jeff Jacobson and Laurie Borris, four great-grandchildren, brothers, Gilbert & wife Mildred Maas and Lester & wife Lois Maas, all of Sleepy Eye. She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter-in-law, Janice Radel.

Evelyn Kockelman, 79, of Fairfax, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Burns Manor Nursing Home in Hutchinson.
Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax, with burial in St.Andrew's Catholic Cemetery in Cairo Township, Renville County.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Monday and 7:30-8 a.m. on Tuesday, at the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Ione Jenniges, 80, of Lamberton, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Wabasso, with burial in St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery, Wanda.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton and continues one hour before the services Wednesday at the church.
She is survived by son David Jenniges of Lamberton; daughter Juliann Jenniges of Rochester; one granddaughter; brothers, Howard Schmidtke of St. James, John Schmidtke of Sun City West, Ariz.
She was born June 20, 1922, in Sundown Township, to George and Laura (Andersen) Schmidtke.

Evelyn Kockelman, 79, of Fairfax, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Burns Manor Nursing Home in Hutchinson.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax, with burial in the church cemetery.,
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., today, and from 7:30-8 a.m., Tuesday, at Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax; and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
There will be a Catholic Aid rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., Monday the funeral chapel.
She is survived by sons, Jerry Kockelman of Hutchinson, Mark Kockelman of Fairfax, and Kenny Kockelman of Hutchinson; daughter, Mary Madson of Cokato; six grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and brother, Marvin Reinhart of Fairfax.
Evelyn Katherine (Reinhart) Kockelman was born July 4, 1923, in New Ulm to Peter and Emma (Schaus) Reinhart.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Birchwood Hospice Home in Hutchinson.

Clarence O. Laabs, 87, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington with burial in Arlington Public Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and one hour before the service at the church.
He is survived by wife Ruth of Arlington; son Bert of Waconia; daughters, Annette Paajanen of West Linn, Ore., Ruby Nagel of Henderson; and nine grandchildren.
He was born on March 30, 1915, to Ferdinand and Hulda (Gruenwald) Laabs in Dryden Township in Sibley County.

Florian Domeier, 91, formerly of New Ulm, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. today and from 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council and the Knights of Columbus will pray a combined rosary at 5:30 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m., both Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Florian is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Ernest Jenkins of St. Paul; grandchildren, Gregory Jenkins of St. Paul, Dr. Patricia Jenkins of Albuquerque, N.M., Jeanette Anderson and her husband Daniel of Little Canada, William Jenkins and his fiancée Sara Begeman, both of New Ulm, Susan Puckett and her husband Jeffery of Moorhead, Joy Jenkins of Boulder, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Tara Puckett, and Grant Puckett; sister-in-law Mary Domeier of New Ulm; and a brother-in-law, Walter Gleisner of New Ulm. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ann Domeier on April 3, 1995; sister Marcella Gleisner; and brothers, Marvin Domeier and Norbert Domeier.
Florian was born on Aug. 6, 1911, in Stark Township, Brown County, to John and Rosa (Kloeckl) Domeier. He married Ann Rubischko on Sept. 6, 1937, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Mankato. After marriage they lived in Madelia, Grand Rapids, Mankato and Kansas City, Mo. They moved to New Ulm in 1945.
Florian was a farmer and later worked at 3M in New Ulm. He was a past member of the Izaak Walton League and the Lost Dog & Fox Hunters Club in New Ulm, a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, a 75-year member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council, and was a member of the St. Patrick's Council No. 1076 Knights of Columbus and Fourth-Degree Knights of Columbus.

Fred Zimanske, 100, of Hutchinson, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at Dassel lakeside Community Home in Hutchinson.
Services are 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with burial in Peace Lutheran cemetery in Hutchinson.
Visitation is one hour before the service at the church.
Arrangements are handled by Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.

Rylda Denison, 88, of Buffalo Lake, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003. at her home.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at United Methodist Church in Hector with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
She was born Nov. 10, 1914 in Springfield, Ill. to William E. and Sarah Mae (McCall) Young.

Fay B. Abel, 70, formerly of New Ulm, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2003, in a Henderson, Nev., hospital.
Service arrangements are pending.
She is survived by her husband Irvin of New Ulm; a brother Gayle C. Godfrey, and a sister Carol J. Christensen, both of Las Vegas, Nev.
She was born Dec. 24, 1932, in rural Trimont, Minn.

Newton Anderson, 73, of Hector, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at home.
Services are 11 a.m., Saturday, March 1, at Swedlanda Lutheran Church in rural Hector with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Friday, at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and continues one hour before services Saturday at the church.
He was survived by wife Jean of Hector; children, Dwight Anderson of Champlin, Sheila Prax of Redwood Valley, Calif., Paul Anderson of Buffalo Lake, Mark Anderson of Buffalo Lake, and Judy Moses of Maple Grove; 13 grandchildren; brother, Lyndon Anderson of Hector; and sister Beatrice Jepsen of Cross Lake.
He was born Nov. 18, 1929, in Martinsburg Township, Hector, to Louis B. and Emily A. (Anderson) Anderson.
He service in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956.

Roland C. Kettner, 85, of St. Peter and formerly of the New Ulm and Nicollet area, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003 at the Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with burial in the church Cemetery, rural Nicollet. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post No. 510 of Nicollet.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Thursday, and will continue from 7:30 until 10:30 a.m., Friday, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Friday.
Roland is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, LeAnn and Gerry Sweet of Bloomington, Cheryl and Dennis Pederson of Hector, and Jean and Thomas Lindemann of Spicer; sons and daughters-in-law, Lynnis and Marvanna Kettner of Winthrop, Larry and Linda Kettner of Kasota, and Lyle Kettner of Nicollet; grandchildren, Todd Kettner and his fiancee, Paula Ness of Winthrop, Michael Kettner and his wife, Kelly, of Glencoe, Kristin Kettner of New London; great-grandchildren, Mitchell Kettner and Alison Kettner; sisters-in-law, Lillian Kettner of Truman and Helen Kettner of St. Peter; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tom, Eldor, William, Emil, and Fred; and sisters Esther and Irene.
Roland Kettner, the son of Fred and Helen (Zimmerman) Kettner was born December 21, 1917, in Westford Township, Martin County. He attended parochial school in Truman. Roland was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1942 - 1945. He was stationed in South Carolina and in the Aleutian Islands, near Alaska. He farmed in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County until 1968. He then worked for the Nicollet Ag in Nicollet until his retirement. He lived in New Ulm for several years before moving to the Zins Apartments in Nicollet, living there until December of 2000 when he moved to the Wilds Assisted Living in St. Peter, living there up until his death. Roland was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet and a member of the Nicollet American Legion Post No. 510. He loved to pitch horseshoes and had belonged a horseshoe pitching league out of New Ulm.

Karl C. Kintzi, 87, of Gaylord, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Memorial service is 11 a.m., Saturday, March 15, at United Church of Christ, Gaylord.
Visitation will be at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his daughters, Marilyn Lea of East Windsor, Conn. and Mona Messner of Gaylord; a son, Kevin of Gaylord; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was born Feb. 7, 1916, in Butterfield to John and Mathilda (Berthold) Kinzi.

Vercille Forbrook, 73 of St. Peter and formerly of rural Courtland died Friday, February 28, 2003 at the Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter.
Funeral service will be 11 AM Monday, March 3, 2003 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 1 - 4 PM Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and will continue at church one hour prior to the time of service at church on Monday.
Vercille is survived by her son and fiancée, Rodney Forbrook and Patty Berg of St. Peter; grandchildren, Michael Forbrook of Minneapolis, Nickolas Forbrook of Courtland, and Melissa Berg of Burnsville; a son-in-law, Glenn Mertesdorf of rural Courtland; an aunt, Hattie Havemeier of New Ulm; sisters-in-law, Florence Forbrook of Mankato, Arlene Wischstadt and her husband Lorenz of New Ulm, and Dorothy Postel of New Ulm; a brother-in-law, Sam Meyer and his wife Myra of New Ulm; and by nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Forbrook on December 9, 2000; and by a daughter Renee Mertesdorf on April 10, 1989.
Vercille was born February 9, 1930 in Courtland Township, Nicollet County to Hubert and Hilda (Havemeier) Epke. She married Donald Forbrook on August 27, 1948 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. After marriage they farmed in Courtland Township, Nicollet County until retiring in the late 1980's. They continued to live on the farm until moving to St. Peter in 1997. They became residents of the Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter in 1999. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland and was a member of the Dorcus Society.

Dorothy L. Allison, 87, of Morton, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at the Cosmos Health Care Center.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at the Lower Sioux Community Center. There will be a private family interment at a later date.
The Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls is handling arrangements.

Helen Keim, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at the New Ulm Medical Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
She is survived by her mother, Irene of New Ulm; sisters, Frances Keim of New Ulm and Mary Sperl Lemke of Wabasso.
She was born Sept. 27, 1956, in New Ulm to Irene Keim and Edmund Sperl.
