Arlene A. Bruch, 66, of Arlington, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
Services are 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 2, at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Tuesday at Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, continuing one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will take place at the Arlington Public Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Brian St. John of Mankato, Dan St. John of Arlington, Terri Poquette of LeSueur, Chris Bruch of Arlington, Tina Vinkemeier of Norwood, 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was born Aug. 20,1936, in Green Isle Township, Sibley County, to Ernst and Anna (Koester) Mueller.

Camille M. Ceplecha 50, of Redwood Falls was recovered from the Redwood River in Alexander Ramsey Park in Redwood Falls, on Thursday, March 27, 2003.
Services are 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Tuesday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service, Redwood Falls.
She is survived by her mother, Rowena Ceplecha of Redwood Falls; sisters, Maria Stella deVega of Avila, Spain, Melanie Otto of Minneapolis, Isabella Ceplecha of Moorehead City, N.C. and Clare Chesley of Monrovia, Calif.; brothers, Christopher of Ft. Worth, Texas and Jonathon of Redwood Falls.
She was born Jan. 27, 1953, in Redwood Falls to Stanley F. and Ursula Rowena (Fontenot) Ceplecha.

Viola Turvold Denzine, 101, of Springfield, died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Services are 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel in Springfield, with burial in the Springfield City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Tuesday; and continues 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel.
Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield handled arrangements.
Survivors include her daughters, Margo and husband Howard Espinosa of Reno, Nev., and Mary Foster of College Park, Md.; grandchildren, Tanya Espinosa, Dr Karl and wife Lyda Espinosa, David Foster, Dean Foster and Shanti Foster; and two great-grandchildren, Karly and Kassidy Espinosa.
Vi was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dr. Carl Denzine in 1974; brother Gaylord Turvold and two nephews, Bruce and Gaylord Turvold Jr.
Viola Turvold, the daughter of Ole and Minda (Haugen) Turvold, was born Sept. 15, 1901, in Northwood, Iowa She graduated from high school in Northwood, after which she was graduated from the University of Minnesota, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Viola taught Latin in Iowa. On February 14, 1928, she married Dr. Carl Denzine in Northwood, Iowa. Following marriage, they moved to Springfield to establish Dr. Denzine's dental practice.
Viola was an active member of the United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Springfield Golf Club, and a founding member of the Springfield Rotary Club, Rotary Ann's. Vi was active in the Brown County Community Concert Board, and past president of the Women's Literary Club. She was a Worthy Matron and Grand Esther for Minnesota Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Springfield Hospital Auxiliary Board. She was a District II Republican chairperson and served on the state central committee of the Brown County Republican Party, working on numerous political campaigns. Vi enjoyed music, playing bridge, attending the theater, knitting for her family. She had the distinction of being the first woman in Springfield to run for a public office.

Gladys Kjelshus, 90, of Madelia, formerly of Hanska, died Sunday, March 30, 2003 at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Vedell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Schmucker Funeral Service in Hanska, and one hour prior to service at the church.
Gladys Joyce Kjelshus, the daughter of Carl and Stina (Ahlness) Joramo, was born February 23, 1913, in Lake Hanska Township, Brown County. She spent her childhood on the family farm, attended country school and Hanska High School. She married Arthur Kjelshus on November 8, 1934 at the Lake Hanska Lutheran Church parsonage. They made their home in Hanska where they owned and operated the Standard Service Station. Two years later, they purchased the current family farm in Lake Hanska Township, on the shores of Lake Hanska. After her husband's death in 1953, Gladys continued to live on the farm, which her sons operated. She moved into Hanska in 1971. Gladys worked at the former Ray's Market in Hanska and also at Herberger's in New Ulm until her retirement. She was a member of Lake Hanska Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, Over 60 Club, Sons of Norway, and also was a volunteer driver for Brown County for many years.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Virginia Kjelshus of Hanska, Adrian and Joann Kjelshus of Oakdale; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Claire Joramo of Hanska; sister, Stella Pizel of Madelia; sister-in-law, Sylvia Pearse of Hanska; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Gordon Joramo, and two sisters in infancy, Genevieve and Ethel.

LeRoy Larson, 80, of Gaylord, died Saturday, March 29, 2003 at the Heritage House in Gaylord.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 4 at Bernadotte Lutheran Church, rural Lafayette. Burial will be in Bernadotte Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are with Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Gaylord; sons, Steve of St. Paul and Paul of Henning; daughter, Leah of Minneapolis; sister, Lillie Wass of Gaylord; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was born Sept. 8, 1922 in New Sweden Township, Nicollet County to Nels and Hilda (Lind) Larson.

Helene Emilie Wittwer, 97, of Redwood Falls, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at the St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Thursday, April 3, at St, John's Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Wednesday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the Redwood Falls Cemetery, The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Helene Emilie (Arndt) Wittwer was born May 8, 1905, in Redwood Falls Township, Redwood County, Minn., to Max and Vertha (Heuer) Arndt. She was baptized June 4, 1905, and confirmed June 13, 1920, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. She attended country schools in Redwood County, and graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1923. She attended Redwood Falls teachers training and graduated in 1924. After her schooling, Helene taught in rural Redwood County schools for 17 years. On December 12, 1940, Helene was united in marriage to Leonard Wittwer at the Bethany Lutheran Church parsonage in Wabasso. Helene quit teaching to raise her family and be a supportive farm wife. Leonard died in 1989. Helene continued living on the farm for years, until moving in with her daughters for supportive care. She entered St. John' Lutheran Home in the fall of 1998, where, she has resided until her death. Helene's life centered around her family and her faith, She loved gardening and raised African violets. She was also an avid collector.
Helene Emilie Wittwer is survived by her daughters, Maxine Otto and husband Leon of Redwood Falls and Rachel Anderson and husband Wayne of New Ulm; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Leonard; brothers, Arthur and Ernest Arndt; and sisters Emma Meier, Dorothea. Jordan, and Frieda Benson.

Bruce F. Schmitz, 82, of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis.
Services are 1 p.m., Saturday, April 5, at Faith United Methodist Church, Sleepy Eye. Burial will be in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home and Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Marlis of Sleepy Eye; son Gary of Becker; daughter LeAnn Wright of Golden Valley; two granddaughters.
He was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Mankato to Forrest and Viola (Moll) Schmitz.
He served in World War II with the U.S. Air Force.

Otto E. Zick, 86, of Redwood Falls, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Burial will be in Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Friday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls and Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by sons, Steven of Lucan, Gary of Redwood Falls and David of Milroy; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Hulda Stofferahn of Calmar, Iowa and Mahilda Grisham of Oregon City, Ore; and brothers, Hugo and Gene of Lake Benton.
He was born Oct. 19, 1916, in Granite Rock Township, Redwood County, Minn., to Emil and Minnie (Otto) Zick.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

John 'Jack' Decker, 77, of 521 S. Payne St. in New Ulm, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at the St. Peter Community Hospital.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday at Oakwood United Methodist Church in New Ulm with Pastor Steven Koehne officiating. Burial with full military honors conducted by VFW Post 4097 and American Legion Post 186 of Olivia will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday at the Olivia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
Schmucker Funeral Service of New Ulm is handling the arrangements.
John Junior Decker, the son of John and Alberta (Minkel) Decker, was born Dec. 30, 1925 in Danube, Minn. He attended rural District 70 school and Olivia High School. After graduating in 1943, he worked for a time before entering the United States Navy in June 1944. He served on the CVE 107 USS Gilbert Island, an aircraft carrier and spent much of his duty in the Pacific Theatre as a Radioman 3rd Class.
Following his honorable discharge in February 1946, he returned home to Olivia where he married Alice Lindquist on March 7, 1947. They made their home in Lead, S.D., where he worked in the Homestake Gold Mine for three years. The family returned to the Olivia area where he worked four years for Reeker Construction and Duininck Brothers Construction. In 1955, the family moved to New Ulm where he began a thirty-one year career with the new Kraft Foods plant. He was a supervisor for the maintenance department for many of those years, retiring in 1988. After retiring, Jack spent more of his time fishing, woodworking, and hunting. He was a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church in New Ulm, Olivia VFW Post 4097, and American Legion Post 132 of New Ulm.
Survivors include his wife, Alice of New Ulm; daughters, Kathleen Rae Marron of Minneapolis; Debra Ann Decker and her companion Jane Hamilton of St. Paul; two grandchildren, Kip Thomas Marron and Scott Daniel Marron of Minneapolis; a brother, Donald Decker of Olivia; sister, Glorianne Lentz and her husband Adrian of Renville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lee Hanson of El Paso, TX, Marvin Lindquist of Phoenix, AZ, Wallace and Myra Lindquist, Lee Folkerts, Delores and Lyndon Abraham, Myrtle Kemnitz, and Eva Decker, all of Olivia; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Albert "Bob" Decker and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, June Decker, Betty McCurdy, Orville and Dorothy Lindquist, Elizabeth Lindquist, Florence and Adrian Shanahan, Hazel Hanson, Lorraine Folkerts, and Theodore Kemnitz.

Garald 'Gary' Hottman, 80, of 117 S. Jefferson St., New Ulm, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 7, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Rev. Todd Nelsen officiating. Burial with full military honors conducted by the New Ulm veterans organizations will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Lake Hanska Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hanska.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m., Sunday and 7-8:30 a.m., Monday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm, and one hour prior to service at the church.
Garald Robert Hottman, the son of Arthur and Matilda (Mehring) Hottman, was born Oct. 6, 1922, in Darfur. As a child, he moved with his family to Mankato, where he attended Mankato High School. Following his graduation, he entered the United States Army Air Force in April 1943, serving as a gunnery instructor. Following his honorable discharge in February 1946, Gary settled in the Twin Cities where he attended the University of Minnesota. He was united in marriage to Gladys Marstone on April 19, 1947, at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church. They made their home in Minneapolis. He graduated from the U of M in June 1950, majoring in transportation and business administration. The family moved to New Ulm in 1953. Gary worked for Midtex (Midland Ross) in Mankato and more recently worked for Tachtronics in New Ulm before retiring in 1988. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm; American Legion Post 132; and IMA, receiving the Warner Award in 1982, the Stuart Cameron McLeod Society Award in 1983, served as State President in 1984, was a member of the Board of Governors in 1995; and the Sons of Norway.
Survivors include his wife Gladys, of New Ulm; daughters, Judy Holcomb and her husband Red of North Mankato, Robyn Hottman of Belle Plaine; sons, Gary Hottman of Mankato, Mitch Hottman of New Ulm; four grandchildren, Brandon Holcomb, Arianna Rogen, Ashley and Seth Hottman; brother-in-law, Duane Marstone and his wife Carole of Hanska; sister-in-law, Alice Marstone of Hanska; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Adelia Keyser, 88, of Mankato, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at St. Peter Community Health Care Center.
Private family services are Saturday, April 5, at Mankato Mortuary, with burial in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato.
She is survived by daughter, LaDonna Hultquist of Mankato; three grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Willard Leikam of Searles.
She was born oct. 16, 1914, in Cambria Township, Blue Earth County, Minn., to George and Mary (Keller) Leikam.
