Marie Schuerman Palmer, 96, died April 25, 2003, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m., Friday, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
Marie is survived by her brother, Ferd Schuerman of Appleton; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; many nieces; nephews and cousins; and special friend, Mrs. Mary Rave of Fairmont.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lavern P. Palmer on June 9, 1970; three sisters and four brothers.
She was born on September 6, 1906, in DeWitt, Nebraska,, to Fred and Sophie Schuerman. In 1914 her family moved to a farm in rural Danvers. She graduated from Benson High School and St. Cloud Business College. She married Lavern P. Palmer on August 6, 1936 in Fairmont. They lived in Fairmont where she worked at Fairmont Railway Motors and later they owned and operated "The Pantry" cafe before moving to Windom in 1955. In 1965 they moved to New Ulm and she was employed as a secretary at New Ulm Junior High School until her retirement.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Hospital Auxiliary, New Ulm Garden Club, Dinners for Shut-ins, Referral and Information Service, the Minnesota Horticultural Society, which honored her with an Award of Merit in 1989, Catholic Daughters, and Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm and she was an active volunteer at church. She was a distributor of Shaklee products for many years.
The family prefers memorials be given to Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm in lieu of flowers.

Lucille Ruschmeyer, 86, of Buffalo Lake, died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Services are 11 a.m., Saturday, May 3, at Zion Lutheran Church, Buffalo Lake with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Friday, at Hughes Funeral Home, Hector and Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the service.

Josephine A. Brown, 90, of Willow River, formerly of New Ulm and Lafayette, died Saturday, April 26, 2003 at her home.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Willow River with burial on Oneota Cemetery, Duluth.
Visitation Thursday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by a son, Edgar of Willow River and two sisters, Lydia Nonnemacher of Honesdale, Pa. and Helen Fiemeyer of New Ulm and five grandchildren.
She was born Aug. 20, 1912 in New Ulm to Frank and Margaret (Zupfer) Drexler, Sr.

Geneva Loeffelmacher, 82, of 1312 North State Street, New Ulm, died Monday, April 28, 2003, at her home.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2003, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with Rev. Thomas Henning officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Schmucker Funeral Service of New Ulm is handling the arrangements.
Geneva Marcella Evelyn Kirchner, the daughter of Louis and Hilda (Amundson) Kirchner, was born Sept. 14, 1920, in Des Moines River Township, Murray County. She grew up on the family farm near Fulda, and attended country school. Geneva married Harold Loeffelmacher April 27, 1950, in New Ulm. Her husband was well known for his band the Six Fat Dutchmen. Following Harold's death in 1988, Geneva continued to make her home in New Ulm. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include sisters, Gloria Fuchs of Willmar, and Lois Behr of Fulda; brother, Dale Kirchner of Wauwatosa, Wis.; stepson Harold Loeffelmacher, Jr. of Mahtomedi; sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Hildar, Leland, Duane and Dean Kirchner.

Donald E. Palmer, 83, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., formerly of the Winthrop - Bernadotte area, died March 14, 2003, in Hot Springs Village, Ark.
Visitation will be 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bernadotte Lutheran Church in Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County, with a 10:30 a.m. burial of the ashes with military rites in the church cemetery. A memorial service will follow the burial at 11 a.m., at the Bernadotte Lutheran Church.
He is survived by a brother, Dennis Palmer of Winthrop; and a sister, Lily Franke of Gaylord.

Sunhee Mary Wesselmann, 46, of Beloit, Wis., died Sunday, April 27, 2003.
Services are 6 p.m., Thursday, May 1, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, in Beloit.
Visitation is 5 p.m. until time of services at the church.
Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home handled arrangements.
She is survived by husband Patrick; son A.J. Wesselmann of Beloit; three sisters and one brother.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
She was born March 15, 1957, in Seoul, Korea, to Sang Myon and Yun Chu Hwang Sim. She married Patrick J. Wesselmann on Sept. 10, 1989, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.
A memorial in her name will be established at a later date.

Eunice Wiechman G., 66, of Stewart, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
Services are 11 a.m., Friday, May 2, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Thursday, at the Hughes Funeral Home in Stewart and Friday at the church, one hour prior to the service.

Joyce Albrecht Petersen, 80, of Elmhurst, Ill., formerly of Winthrop, died Feb. 1, 2003.
A memorial service will be held in July in Elmhurst.
She is survived by a daughter, Jill Perez of Elmhurst; a son, Todd Petersen of Naperville, Ill.; one grandchild; and a sister, Margaret Anderson of Gibbon.
She was born March 30, 1922, in Winthrop to Almin and Selma (Otto) Albrecht.

Deborah Jean Petron, 52, of rural New Ulm, died Thursday, May 1, 2003 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Mon-day at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with Fr. Richard Gross celebrating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at the State Veteran's Cemetery in Camp Ripley, near Little Falls.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and 7 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm. A Parish Prayer Service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Deborah Jean Vochko, the daughter of Frank and Ann (Couture) Vochko, was born November 9, 1950 in Eau Claire, WI. As a child, she moved with her family to the Twin Cities where she graduated from Wayzata High School in 1969. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art at St. Cloud State University in 1973. Deborah was united in marriage to Stephen Petron August 19, 1972 in Wayzata. They made their home in Foley while she taught school in Onamia. In 1975, they moved to Davenport, IA where Stephen completed his Doctorate in Chiropractic. The family moved to New Ulm in September 1978. In addition to caring for her family, Deborah managed her husband's office practice. Deborah was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. She was a member of the Liturgical Committee in charge of the environment for St. Mary's from 1980 to 2001. She was also a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and was a free lance artist.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Stephen T. Petron, DC of New Ulm; daughters, Catherine Anne Petron of Austin, TX, Eden Elizabeth (Bliss) Petron of New Ulm; sisters, Barbara Vochko of Minneapolis, Mary (Taffy) Brown and her husband Larry of Davenport, IA, Dr. Molly Silas and her husband Scott of Chanhassen; brother, Joseph Vochko and his wife Cheryl of Mound; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerome and Marcella Petron of Cold Spring; sisters-in-law, Barbara Heltemes and her husband Nick of St. Joseph, Peggy Sauer and her husband Curtis of Sartell, Rosemary Gleisner and her husband Mark of Bird Island, Edith Flahve and her husband Robert of Royalton, Patricia Flahve and her husband Patrick of Elk River; brothers-in-law, Jerry Petron and his wife Kathy of Blaine, Albert Petron and his wife Sue of Cannon Falls; nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials are preferred to the Cathedral High School art department.

Amalia 'Molly' Neisen, 99, of 1114 North State Street in New Ulm died Thursday, May 1, 2003 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2003 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Father John Richter officiating. Burial will be in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 7:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Molly is survived by a daughter, Margaret Hoyer, of New Ulm; a son Harry R. Neisen of New Ulm; grandchildren, Pamela Schneider of Cottage Grove, Patricia Schaper and her husband, Blake, of New Ulm; great grandchildren, Jason Schneider, Matthew Schneider and Connor Schaper; and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry Neisen, Sr. on November 17, 1995; a son-in-law, Gerald Hoyer, on December 28, 1993; a great granddaughter, Lauren Nicole Schaper, on June 13, 1999; sisters, Clara Kalz, Anna Kalz, Mary Wimmer, Catherine Fleissner and Frieda Gulden; and by brothers, August Kalz, Jr., Frank Kalz, and John Kalz.
Amalia "Molly" Neisen, the daughter of August and Anna (Dauer) Kalz was born on June 22, 1903 in New Ulm. She attended the Holy Trinity Catholic School in New Ulm. Prior to her marriage she had been employed at various jobs in St. Paul and also at the Wear Well Garment Factory in New Ulm. On May 2, 1929 she was united in marriage to Harry Neisen in Mankato. After marriage they lived in New Ulm. Molly was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm and she loved to do yardwork, take care of her flowers, and to spend time with her family. In November of 1998 she became a resident of the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye.

Marjorie Teig, 65, of 1001 N. Garden Street, New Ulm, died Thursday, May 1, 2003 at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday at Nora Unitarian-Universalist Church near Hanska, with Rev. Sarah Oelberg officiating. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at Schmucker Funeral Service in Hanska, and one hour prior to service at the church.
Marjorie Ordell Teig, the daughter of Oscar and Mabel (Larson) Moe, was born May 10, 1937 in Hanska. She attended New Ulm schools, graduating from New Ulm High School in 1954. She then attended Mankato State College for two years. She was united in marriage to Richard Teig on August 24, 1957 at the Nora Church in Hanska. They made their home in various areas before settling in Hastings where she worked for the Tanner & Ring Law Office. She later worked for 3M in St. Paul and returned to college at the College of St. Catherine, earning her degree in 1988. Her husband died in 1987. After retiring from 3M in 1996, she moved to New Ulm. She was a member of the Nora Unitarian-Universalist Church of Hanska, serving as treasurer for several terms; AAUW; New Ulm Medical Center hospital volunteer; Sons of Norway; and she was an avid University of Minnesota basketball fan.
Survivors include her sons, Gregory Teig and his wife Kimberly of North Mankato; Bradley Teig of Lyndon, KS; daughter, Julie Teig of Apple Valley; six grandchildren, Nicole Triplett, Jordan, Kristen, Charlie, and Ryan Teig, and Troy Siegman; brother, Maynard Moe of Mankato; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Clayton and two infant sisters.

Harriet Graupman, 77, of 1056 Ash Avenue in Gibbon died suddenly on Friday, May 2, 2003.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2003 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Monday.
Harriet is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Janet Graupman of rural Gibbon, Gary and Melba Graupman of rural Nicollet; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Clarence Bruns of Gibbon, LeeOrda and Arn Hahn of Tucson, Arizona; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Elaine Schwecke of Gibbon, Floyd and Donna Schwecke of Brownsville, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville Graupman on September 21, 1979; granddaughter, Rebecca Graupman; sister, Marian Sorebo; and a brother, Robert Schwecke.
She was born on September 26, 1925 in Streeter, North Dakota to Dietrich and Lydia (Boettcher) Schwecke. She married Orville Graupman on October 20, 1945 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Paul. After marriage they resided in Gibbon. She worked as a bookkeeper for Brunner Insurance in Gibbon and later worked as a bookkeeper for Community Insurance in Lafayette. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon.

Ray Jensen, 74, of Redwood Falls, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at the Redwood Falls Area Hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in the Morton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls, and will continue at the church Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by sons, Larry of Northfield; Keith of Alexandria, Kim of Dixon, Ill., and Jeff of Lake Benton; 14 grandchildren; and a brother, Joe of New Hope.
He was born March 4, 1929, in Birch Cooley Township, Renville County, to William and Margaret (Revier) Jensen.

Hazel K. Bauer, 85, of Sleepy Eye, Minn., died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Services are 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, at the church.
Arrangements are handled by Sturm Funeral Home of Sleepy Eye.
She was born April 3, 1918, in Morgan, Minn., the daughter of Charles and Edna (EIlis) Picker. She graduated from Wabasso High School. She married John Bauer on Oct. 26, 1938, at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in Glencoe. Hazel and John owned and operated the Sleepy Eye Greenhouse for 41 years until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye and the Isaac-Radl Auxiliary VFW Post 800. Hazel loved sports and especially was an avid fan of the Twins and Vikings. She loved spending time with her family of which she has many fond memories.
She is survived by her son Mike Bauer of Sleepy Eye; daughters Kathy and husband Glen Turbes of Willmar, Mary Jo and husband Dale Evers of Sleepy Eye; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Bartles of Crosby, Helen Radde of Watertown, Jeanne and husband Hooch Hansen of Sleepy Eye; sister-in-law, Louise Bauer of New Ulm and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John; sisters, Pearl Lindeman and June Mock; brothers-in-law, Alfred and George Bauer, Elmer Bartles, Fred W. Radde, Joe Mock and Martin Lindeman; and granddaughter, Mary Marie Bauer.

O. Lloyd Friton, 82, of Sleepy Eye, died on Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Meeker County Medical Center in Litchfield.
The funeral service is 2:30 p.m., Thursday, May 8, at Faith United Methodist Church with Pastor Donn Rakow officiating. Burial will be at the Home Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, in Sleepy Eye, continues one hour before the service Thursday at the church.
Lloyd was born on May 31, 1920, in Stark Township, Brown County, Minn., the son of Otto and Emma (Sommerfeld) Friton. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school in Stark Township for a couple of years. Lloyd then attended and graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School. After he graduated Lloyd continued to raise registered Brown Swiss cattle on the family dairy farm with his brother, Eugene. He married Dolores Peterson on April 28, 1946, in Evan, Minn. The couple made their home on the family farm where they have lived until the present time. Lloyd was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye and a life member of the Brown Swiss Association.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Friton of Sleepy Eye; children, Grant and wife Verna Friton of Sleepy Eye, Eunice and husband Kevin De Garmo of Cannon Falls, Douglas and wife Kelly Friton of Sleepy Eye, Mark and wife Debra Friton of Chandler, AZ, Betty and husband David Mack of Sleepy Eye and David and wife Tracy Friton of East Bethel; 17 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Rodney; brothers, Oscar, Elsworth "Pork", Edmond and Eugene; sisters, Alice and Laura; and grandson, Garry Alan.
