Raymond P. Holm, 75, of Saint James, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at his farm in South Branch.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at First Lutheran Church in St. James, with Rev. K. Christian Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Monday and 7:30 - 9 a.m. Tuesday at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James.
He is survived by his wife Margaret; sons, Tom Holm of Neche N.D., and Dave Holm of Ames,
Iowa; daughters, Pat Regnier of Neenah, Wis., and Mary Roskop of Bloomington; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Arlene Dayton of Eugene, Ore.
Raymond Palmber was born Aug. 12, 1927 near South Branch to Marinus and Minnie (Revne)
Holm. He served in the U.S. Navy from September 1945 - July of 1946.

Mark E. Kodet, 47 of rural Fairfax, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at the Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital.
Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2003, at the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax. A private burial was held at Bethel Cemetery in Cairo Township, Renville County.
Mark is survived by his wife Dixie B. (Wiethoff) Kodet of rural Fairfax; children, Tyler Kodet, Dana Kodet and Taryn Kienlen; mother Jean Standfuss of Danube; sisters, Joyce Deming of Rushford, Janet Kodet of Waconia, Gail Christensen of Morgan, Laurie Johnson of Owatonna, Anne Wendinger of the Twin Cities, and Amy Kiecker of rural Fairfax; brothers, Todd Wendinger of Savage, and Brad Wendinger or Moorhead.
Mark Edward Kodet was born March 26, 1956, in Olivia, to Edward Kodet and Marlys "Jean" (Hensley) Standfuss.

Alfred C. Kosel, 97, of Sanborn, died Thursday, May 8, 2003 at St. John Lutheran Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2003 at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield with burial in Wanda City Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by sons William of Port Huron, Mich. and Larry of Newport, Tenn.; a daughter, Grace Day of New Ulm; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; and a brother, Lloyd Kosel of Austin.
He was born May 20, 1905 in Comfrey to Paul and Anna (Schroeder) Kosel.

Florence (Wasson) Meuleners, 91, a resident of Fergus Falls died Friday, May 9, 2003 at the Pioneer Retirement Community in Fergus Falls.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Pioneer Retirement Community Chapel, Fergus Falls, with Reverend Richard Walz, Chaplain Harry Olson, and Sister Joyce Leibly officiating. Burial wil be 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Ulm City Cemetery, New Ulm, Minnesota with the Reverend Doug Grams officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Pioneer Retirement Community Chapel, Fergus Falls.
Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on March 27, 1912, in Marshall, Minnesota, the daughter of Rud and Myrtle (Elliott) Wasson. At the age of six, the family moved to a farm south of Battle Lake in Clitherall Township. She grew up there and graduated from Battle Lake High School in 1929.
She then attended South Dakota State University in Brookings. In 1933, she received a Bachelors of Science degree in Home Economics. She enrolled in the Dietetic Training course at General Hospital in Minneapolis, which she completed in 1934. Florence then began working as a dietitian at St. Andrews Hospital. For a brief time, Florence worked at St. Margarets Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In 1936, she began working for the Farm Security Administration in conjunction with the Minnesota Extension Service in Baudette, Minnesota. She moved to Owatonna in 1939, and continued working with the extension service.
On June 1, 1943 she married C.J. Meuleners in Owatonna. The couple moved to New Ulm. She worked as a dietitian at Loretto Hospital until her retirement in 1978. She moved to Fergus Falls in 1986. She enjoyed playing bridge, walking, reading and was active in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband, who died in 1973; and two brothers, Jack Wasson, and Loren "Bill" Wasson.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Helen Wasson of Alexandria; and Lucerne Wasson of Battle Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fergus Falls, Pioneer Retirement Community Chapel of Fergus Falls, or to donors choice.

Nina Lucille Merryfield Opel, 87, of Grand Marais, formerly of New Ulm, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, in Missoula, Mont., at the home of her son, Gordon.
A memorial service and burial will June 28, 2003, at the Merryfield family cemetery in Winnebago.
Nina is survived by her daughter Roberta of Helena, Mont.; sons, Gordon of Missoula, Mont., and Craig of Eagan; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Nina Opel was born Jan. 20, 1916, in Winnebago, Ill., to Robert and Nellie Merryfield.

Reuben Rieke, 92, of Fairfax, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at the Hoffman Good Samaritan Center in Hoffman.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2003, at United Methodist Church in Fairfax, with burial in Ft. Ridgely Cemetery in Ridgely Township, Nicollet County. Visitation will held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Arrangements are with the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax.
Reuben Jacob Rieke was born on Oct.15, 1910, in Mud Lake, to Herman and Annie (Gluth) Rieke.
Hew is survived by his son Dr. Reuben D. Rieke of Lincoln, Neb.; daughter Nancy Gulbranson of Brandon; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Norma Muske, 87, of Litchfield, wife of Rev. Clarence Muske, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Emmanuel Home in Litchfield.
Services are Monday 2 p.m., at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, with burial Tuesday at Grand Rapids Cemetery, Grand Rapids, N.D.
Visitation is two hours prior to services at the church.
Arrangements by Dobrantz-Hantge Funeral Chapel of Hutchinson.

LaVonne Leske, 90, of Buffalo Lake, died Friday, May 9, 2003 at the Hutchinson Community Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday at the church and Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home.
She was born June 4, 1912 near Williams, Iowa to Ernest and Mary (Behrens) Bryan.

Roseal Lien, 87, of Avoca, died Friday at Westbrook Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2003 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Dovray with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Westbrook Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Dolores Bertrang, 92, of Arlington, died Friday, May 9, 2003 at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday at the church with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m.
She is survived by a son, Myron Bertrang of Le Sueur; a daughter, Annmarie Trocke of Arlington; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a great, great grandchild; and a sister, Mae Locher.
She was born Sept. 8, 1910 in Jessenland Township to Oscar and Anna Moisen.

Hubert Brand, 87, of Lucan died Saturday at his home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan and Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
Kulow Funeral Service of Echo is in charge of arrangements.

Henry R. Trocke, 92, of Arlington, died Friday, May 9, 2003, at the St. Peter Health Care Center.
Services are 2 p.m., Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Arlington with burial in Arlington Public Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday at the church, two hours prior to the service.
The Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling arrangements.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Arlington; daughter Diane Glieden of Arlington; son Rodney of Fridley; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Glenn of Hamburg; sisters, Alida Quinn of Edina, Gertrude Heuer and Mae Zehnder, both of Plato.
He was born May 8, 1911, in Norwood to John and Hannah (Segler) Trocke.

Marcella M. Bargmann, 76, of rural Glencoe, died May 9, 2003, at the Glencoe Area Health Care Center.
Services were held Monday, May 12, at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Glencoe, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by husband, Elroy Bargmann of rural Glencoe; daughter Diane Hartmann; sons, Russel Bargman of Glencoe, Bruce Bargmann of Glencoe; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Hilbert Tabbert of Gaylord; sisters, Dorothy Schuette of Glencoe and Alice Redman of Kasson.
She was born May 9, 1927, to Henry and Selm (Kelm) Tabbert.

Ruth 'Dee Dee' Hornbrook, 85, of The Woodlands, Texas, formerly of Sleepy Eye, died on April 4, 2003, in The Woodlands, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2003, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye with private burial in Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
Friends may call on the family from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Lunch will be served by the ladies of Trinity Lutheran Church following the services in the basement of the church.
Dee Dee was born on Dec. 15, 1917, in Sleepy Eye, Minn., the daughter of H. Frank & C. Alma (Witt) Scobie. She grew up in Sleepy Eye and graduated from Public High School in 1935. She then attended the University of Minnesota and after graduation taught high school in Iowa and Minnesota.
Dee Dee entered the United States Marine Corps in 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1945. On Nov. 20, 1945, she married Harry C. Hornbrook in Beaufort, S.C. The couple made their home briefly in Evansville,Ind., and moved to Sleepy Eye in early 1946. Dee Dee taught grade school in Sleepy Eye and later was the bookkeeper for Hornbrook Ford from 1960 until they sold the business in 1985. The couple remained in Sleepy Eye until Harry's death in November of 2002 when she moved to The Woodlands to be near her children. Dee Dee was active in her community, quilting and sewing with a ladies group at Trinity Lutheran Church. She also served on the Dyckman Library and Brown County Historical Society boards for many years. She was active with the Brown County Red Cross Blood Drive and the Brown County Republican Party for many years.
Survivors include daughter, Sara Hornbrook of Spring, Texas; and son, Larry and wife, Deborah Hornbrook of The Woodlands, Texas; granddaughter, Amber Hornbrook of Austin, Texas; and stepgrandsons, Jeremy Jones of Austin, Texas and Lt. Jason Jones, USMC of Kanehoe, Hawaii; brother, George and wife, Phyllis Scobie of Rochester, minn.
Dee Dee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; sister, Elizabeth Scobie; and brother, Herbert Scobie.

Myrna Podratz, 81, of Gaylord, died May 11, 2003, in Arlington.
Services are 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-7 p.m., today, and 7:30 to noon Wednesday at Egesdal Funeral Home, and continues one hour before services at the church.
She is survived by son Larry Podratz of Gaylord; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was born Jan. 19, 1922, in Penn Township, McLeod, County, to William and Lydia (Radtke) Spiering.

Robert E. Sjogren, 94, of Lafayette, died Friday, May 9, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Center in Arlington.
Services are 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, at Bernadotte Lutheran Church in Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County, Minn. Burial will be a later date in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, and 7:30-8:30 a.m., Wednesday, at Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop and continues one hour before the services Wednesday at the church.
He is survived by daughter Mary Ann Scheid of Arlington, five grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Robert Edward Sjogren was born Feb. 17, 1909, in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County, Minn. He was the son of Charles and Alma Caroline (Youngquist) Sjogren.
