Norman Peterson, 73, of Glencoe, formerly of Brownton and New Ulm, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at the Orchard Estates in Glencoe.
Funeral services will be on 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 18, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Brownton.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. today and from 8 - 11 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton.
Arrangements are with the Hantge Funeral Chapel in Brownton.
He is survived his sons, Larry Peterson of Atwater, Keith Peterson of Brownton; daughters, Lucinda Nelson of Hutchinson, and Pamela Middendorf of Glencoe; two grandchildren; brother Ken Peterson of Cokato; and sister Kathryn Wendlandt of Hutchinson.
Norman Frank Peterson was born on Jan.12, 1930, to Albin and Mayme (Busta) Peterson in St. Paul.

Ewald F. Timm, 90, of Springfield, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at Springfield Medical Center.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 18, at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Springfield.
He is survived by his wife Mildred Timm of Springfield; daughter Marlene Thompson of Lincoln, Neb.; son Robert Timm of Minneapolis; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Ewald F. Timm was born Oct. 12, 1912, in Burnstown Township, Brown County, to Henry and Emma (Zech) Timm.

Gilbert 'Gib' Witt, 74, of Sleepy Eye, died on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye, with Pastor Donn Rakow officiating. Burial will be at Home Cemetery with military rites by the Sleepy Eye Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Friday.
Gilbert was born on March 20, 1929, in Home Township, Brown County, the son of Adolf and Cecelia (Glaser) Witt. He grew up and attended school in Sleepy Eye, and then entered the U.S. Military. Gib served in the Navy during WWII from February of 1946 until December of 1947, and then he entered the Air Force and served until his discharge in September of 1952. Gib returned to Sleepy Eye and worked for the City as a lineman for a few years before moving to Chaska and working as an electrician for Teller Electric.
Gib returned to Sleepy Eye and operated Witt Electric for a few years before going to work for Beech Electric and later Country Side Electric. Gib married Norma J. (Harnack) Kuchenberg on Nov. 24, 1979, in Waterloo, Iowa. He retired in the early '90s and continued to make his home in Sleepy Eye.
Gib was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye, the VFW, American Legion, Masonic Lodge and Shriners Club. He was a life member of the Sleepy Eye Collectors Club, Past Commander of the Sleepy Eye American Legion and was the local representative for the Sleepy Eye Legion Baseball team for many years. Gib enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and his pet Siamese cats. He also enjoyed collecting coins, stamps and antiques.
Survivors include his wife Norma of Sleepy Eye; daughter, Lisa and husband Merle Bohlin of Sleepy Eye; step-son Steve Kuchenberg and special friend Kimberly of Indianapolis, Ind.; grandsons, Nicholas and Nathan Nachreiner and Adam Braun; step-granddaughter Marina Kuchenberg; great-grandson Trevor Nachreiner; sister, Vera Shafer of West St. Paul; brother, Milton and wife Beatrice Witt of West St. Paul; and sisters-in-law, Adeline Witt of Sleepy Eye, and Shirley and husband Richard Raecker of Waterloo, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and nine sisters.
Memorials are preferred to the Sleepy Eye Medical Center Building Fund.

Edwald 'Eddie' Fischer, 73, of Gibbon, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center in Winthrop.
Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon, with burial in church Cemetery. Pastor Richard J. Kuckhahn will be officiating. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by New Ulm veterans organizations.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-11 a.m., Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday.
Eddie is survived by his wife Bernice Fischer of Gibbon; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Jeff Ludewig of Sleepy Eye, and Sally Fischer and special friend Jim Holstad, both of Gibbon; sons and daughters-in-law, Bradley and Julie Fischer of Gibbon, Randy and Theresa Fischer of Gibbon, Gary and Arlys Fischer of Ivanhoe, and Rodney and Tammy Fischer of Winthrop; 10 grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Falk of New Ulm; brothers, Larry Fischer, Leonard Fischer, Vernie Fischer, and Leo Fischer all of Gibbon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Francis Fischer; and sister, Hildegarde Fischer.
Edwald was born on May 19, 1930, in Sleepy Eye, to Frank and Alma (Liesenfeld) Fischer. In the 1940s, the family moved to rural Gibbon, where Eddie attended school. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On June 21, 1956, he married Bernice Karstens in Gibbon. He worked at the creamery in Gibbon until it closed and then worked in tiling. He worked for the Woods Bros. as a mechanic and was a police officer for the city of Gibbon and a special deputy at the Gibbon Ballroom for 18 years.

Dustin Travis Schultz, 16, of Morgan, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, in rural Morgan.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 19, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Thursday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Morgan; and continues at 9:30 a.m., Friday, at the church.
He is survived by mother Nancy Schultz and Brian Lumbar of Franklin; father, Dennis Schultz of rural Morgan; grandparents, Philip Sr. and Delores Wenner of Morgan, Bernard and Gloria Schultz of Morton; sister Nikki Schultz of Franklin; brothers, Dylan and Brandon Schultz of Franklin; stepsister Denis Weedner of Renville; stepbrothers, Russell, Justin and Dakotah Lumbar of Franklin;
He was born Dec. 19, 1986, to Dennis and Nancy (Wenner) Schultz.

Vera M. Voeks, 93, of Redwood Falls, formerly of Morton, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at Sunwood Good Samaritan Center in Redwood Falls.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Zion Lutheran Church in Morton.
Visitation is 9-11 a.m., Saturday at the church, A private family burial will be held at a later time.
The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
She is survived by her sister, Lucy Robbins of Morton; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
She was born July 10, 1910 to Henry and Mathilda (Thiem) Homeier in rural Morton.

Bernard Fleck, 77, of Springfield, Mo., and formerly of New Ulm, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at the Cox Medical Center in Springfield, Mo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. today and 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The St. Patrick's Council of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council will pray a combined rosary at 7 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 8 p.m. today at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
Bernie is survived by his wife Lois Fleck of Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Kathleen Kersting of Sioux City, Iowa; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Lisa Fleck of New Ulm; grandchildren, Travis, Trevor, Dustin, Brett and Becca; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Gretchen Fleck of St. Paul; a daughter-in-law, Mary Kohlhof and her husband Greg of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steve Fleck on Sept. 5, 1991; a grandson, Jeremy Kersting on Nov. 1, 1992; a sister, Caroline Bose; and a brother, Leo Fleck.
Bernie was born July 8, 1926, in New Ulm, to Anton and Amanda (Reiner) Fleck. He married Lois Metzen on Feb. 11, 1947, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage they farmed in Milford Township, Brown County. They moved to New Ulm in 1977, where Bernie was a realtor for 12 years and also sold used cars. Bernie and Lois have lived in Missouri for the past five years. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, the St. Patrick's Council of the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council and the New Ulm Country Club.

Paul 'Pete' McClurg, 75, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, formerly of New Ulm, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at his home. He had been the New Ulm city engineer from 1986 to 1994.
Services were held Thursday at Calvary United Methodist Church in Arnolds Park, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Esty McClurg of Spirit Lake; a daughter, Lisa McClurg of Pensacola, Fla.; sons, Thomas B. McClurg of Lake Mary, Fla., and Paul E. McClurg of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Mary Lou Reno of Lyndon, Kan. and Ann Barnes of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother Curtis McClurg of North Liberty, Iowa., and three grandchildren.
He was born July 12, 1928, in Milton, Iowa. to Ernest and Suzanna (Barnes) McClurg.

Stella Paulson, 89, of Sleepy Eye, died on Wednesday, Sept.17, 2003, at Sleepy Eye Hospital in Sleepy Eye.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, with Fr. Brian Oestreich officiating. Interment will be at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Arrangements were handled by Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.
Stella was born on May 30, 1914, in Home Township, Brown County, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Kuelbs) Hoffmann. She grew up in Sleepy Eye and graduated from St. Mary's High School.
Stella attended and graduated from Mankato State University with a degree in Elementary Education and taught in country schools in Brown County. She worked at First Security Bank from 1940 until 1948. On Feb. 9, 1948, she married Philip Paulson at St. Mary's Rectory in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home in rural St. James for 10 years.
Philip preceded Stella in death in 1958. After Philip's death Stella returned to Sleepy Eye and taught second grade at Sleepy Eye Public School for 18 years. After she retired, she continued to make her home in Sleepy Eye. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, N.C.S.F. and the Brown County Retired Teachers Association. Stella enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and relaxing.
Survivors include her sister Alice Goodwin of San Mantaeo, Calif.; nephews and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Philip; brother Norbert Hoffmann in 1979; brother-in-law C.D. Goodwin in 1995; and niece, Kathleen Goodwin in 1999.

Alma Stadick, 82, of 826 S. Franklin St. in New Ulm, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at her home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
Alma is survived by her husband Carl Stadick of New Ulm; a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and LeRoy Martens of Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, Daniel Lindemann of Shakopee; special nephew and niece, Tim and Lori Kohn of Courtland; special great-niece and nephews, Kelly, Brandon and Cody Kohn; and by other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, LuLu Baker, Rosie Ghiloni, Vera Morrow and Florence W. Kohn; and by brothers, Victor, Eddie, Charles and Floyd "Pete" Lindemann.
Alma was born March 26, 1921, in New Ulm to Charles and Sophia (Mueller) Lindemann. She married Carl A. Stadick on May 29, 1943, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Rectory in New Ulm. After marriage they lived in New Ulm, where she worked a seamstress at the Wear Well Garment Company. They moved to Santa Ana, Calif. in 1956, where she worked at Quality Garment Company in Santa Ana and the for Ruth Ann's Swimwear in Orange, Calif. She retired in 1983 and they moved to New Ulm in 1988. She was a member of the Ladies Elks in Orange, Calif.

Dorothy 'Sis' Clyne, 70, of 300 N. Broadway, New Ulm, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, at the New Ulm Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. John Richter 1 p.m. Monday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.
Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday and 7 a.m. to noon Monday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm. A parish prayer service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Dorothy Ann "Sis" Clyne, the daughter of Repass and Leona (Rubey) Clyne, was born July 1, 1933, in New Ulm. Dorothy is fondly remembered as a baby sitter for many families in New Ulm. She was a gentle, spirited woman who loved small children, puppies and kitties.
Survivors include three brothers, Ken Clyne and his wife Elva, Jim Clyne and his wife Barb, of New Ulm; Denny Clyne and his wife Marge of Davenport, Iowa; sister-in-law, Marlene Clyne; brothers-in-law, Louis Lindmeyer, Sr., Jack Luckhardt; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her feline companion "Freddie".
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Lindmeyer in 1982, Barbara Luckhardt in 1993; and brother Donald Clyne in 2002.
May she rest in peace.

Patrick C. 'Pat' Fischer, 77, of 826 South Jefferson Street in New Ulm died Wednesday, September 17, 2003, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm after a courageous battle with ALS.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2003 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with Father Douglas Grams and Father John Richter celebrating the mass. Burial will be in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 - 8 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 7:30 until 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a rosary at 6 p.m. by the St. Patrick's Council, Knights of Columbus, and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. both Sunday at the funeral home.
Pat is survived by his wife, Grace A. Fischer of New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jane and Steven Portner of New Ulm, Barb and Roger Monson of Brookings, South Dakota, Patti and Larry Knisley of New Ulm, Kay and T.J. Garin of Mound; grandchildren, Beth, Patrick, and Michael Portner, Andrea and Phillip Monson, Katie, John, and Scott Knisley, and Will and Molly Garin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Delbert and Geraldine Fischer of New Ulm, Luverne and Lois Fischer of Sleepy Eye; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marcella and Steven Stephen of San Jose, California, Alize and Bobby Zeig, Donna and Ambrose Hoffmann, and Joanne Schugel all of New Ulm; and by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Louisa Fischer; a sister, Astonia, in infancy; and by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Theodore and Helen Waibel, Harold and Jeanette Schugel, Eugene Schugel and Howard Kelly.
Patrick Christian Fischer, the son of Joseph and Louisa (Domeier) Fischer was born on July 24, 1926, in Sleepy Eye. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Sleepy Eye. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps serving during WWII. He was honorably discharged on November 27, 1945. After his military career he attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated from there in 1949. On May 8, 1950 he was united in marriage to Grace A. Schugel at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. From 1949 to 1950 he worked with Lybrand, Ross Brothers and Montgomery accounting firm in Cleveland, Ohio, from 1951 to 1960 he was an accountant with the California Packing Corporation located in Sleepy Eye and Rochelle, Illinois; and from 1961 until his retirement in 1988 he was an accountant with State Bond & Mortgage Company in New Ulm.
Pat was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm where he served as an usher for many years. He was a member of the Seifert-Bianchi American Legion Post 132 in New Ulm, a past member of the Brown County Historical Society and the city of New Ulm Planning and Zoning Committee.
He truly enjoyed the outdoors, walking in the woods, gardening, hunting, fishing, reading, listening to classical music, and most of all spending time with his family.
The family prefers memorials to either the New Ulm Area Catholic Schools (NUACS) or to the Minnesota ALS Association.

Donald Iverson, 65, of 319 N. Washington St. in New Ulm, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, at the Mankato House Health Care Center in Mankato.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Burial will be in the City Cemetery in New Ulm. Visitation will be from 12:30 to the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Donald is survived by aunts, Ruth Radke of Anaheim, Calif., Gretchen Wollin of Litchfield, Elizabeth Jutz of New Ulm, Carrie Oxford of Santa Ana, Calif., Jennie Schleusner of Bird Island, and Tena Rathman of Olivia ; uncles, Edwin Iverson of Buhl, Idaho, Morris Iverson of Litchfield, Denis Iverson of New Ulm, Sam Vanderwerf of Springfield, Herman Vanderwerf of Springfield, George Vanderwerf of Prior Lake; and by many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Annie (Vanderwerf) Iverson; uncles, Hans and Marvin Iverson, Bill, Claus, Peter, Dick, and John Vanderwerf; and aunts, Gladys Benson, Lillian Martin, Clarice Fruhwirth, Lulu Weller and Helen Byer.
Donald Iverson, the son of Peter and Annie (Vanderwerf) Iverson, was born on May 4, 1938, in Brown County. He attended school in New Ulm. Donald did housecleaning and gardening for various people in New Ulm. He traveled extensively and enjoyed garage sales. He volunteered at the Humane Society and the Historical Society. His hobbies were collecting records, books, and magazines, and he enjoyed bicycling.
