Marlene 'Rusty' Rewitzer, 63, of 300 South Front Street in New Ulm died Saturday, November 15, 2003 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 - 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
"Rusty" is survived by her husband, LeRoy Rewitzer of New Ulm; mother, Ruth E. Clyne of New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Jody and J.J. Howard of Phoenix, Arizona; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger "Herm" and Nancy Block of Rolla, Missouri, Ricky "Rick" and Ann Block of Chanhassen, Randy Block of New Ulm; six grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary L. "Eightball" Hogen, Connie "Chico" and James "Chick" Heck, Diane "Termite" and Richard Murphy, Linda Clyne and her special friend, John Schoof, Monica "Wiener" and Danny Gieseke, Julie "Tutsie" and Pat Schugel all of New Ulm, Roxanne "Tuni" and Harlan Schwecke of Gibbon; brother and sister-in-law, Randy "Sam" and Jo Clyne of New Ulm; mother-in-law, Madeline Rewitzer of New Ulm; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Marion Rewitzer, Annabelle and Charles Albaugh, Judy and Barry Schewe, Vernon Rewitzer, Doris Meyer and special friend, Dallas Loverude, Melvin and Shelly Rewitzer all of New Ulm, and Shirley and Donny Huiras of Fairfax.
She was preceded in death by her father, Martin L. Clyne in 1960; her first husband, James H. Block in 1972; and a nephew, Danny J. Clyne in 1980.
She was born on June 5, 1940 in New Ulm to Martin L. and Ruth E. (Guendner) Clyne. She married James H. Block on March 29, 1960 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. After marriage they lived in New Ulm. After the death of her first husband she married LeRoy Rewitzer on May 17, 1980 in New Ulm. She had worked as a telephone operator in New Ulm, and had worked at the New Ulm Greenhouse and P.G.I. Mailers in New Ulm.
She enjoyed birdwatching, mushroom hunting, fishing, deer hunting, embroidery and her dogs. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm.

Wilbert Wylie, 70, of Kimball and formerly of Gibbon, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at home.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kimball, with burial in the Maine Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball with a prayer service at 7 p.m.; and continues one hour before services Wednesday at the church.
He is survived by wife Vernone of Kimball; children, Jill Wise of New Ulm, Jeff Wylie of Becker, Jon Wylie of Egan, Julie Spurbeck of Eagan, Janet Kramer of Sleepy Eye; siblings, Hazel Vick of Fridley, Edward Wylie of Minnetonka, Harold Wylie of Kimball, Dorothy Buystedt of New Hope; and 13 grandchildren.
He was born March 24, 1933, in Watkins to Edmund and Elsie (Schultz) Wylie.

Gordon Hahn, 75, of Gaylord, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Services are 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord.
He is survived by his wife, Ordella of Gaylord; a son, Gary of Gaylord; and daughters, Dianne Huth of Wickenburg, Ariz. and Deb Winter of Arlington; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was born July 18, 1928, in Dryden Township, Sibley County, Minnesota to Charley and Ernstine (Woller) Hahn.

Helen Harder, 79, of Butterfield, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003 at Lutheran Retirement Home in Truman.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at First Presbyterian Church, St. James. Burial will be in Butterfield City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-9 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James.

Kathy Pavick 46, of Cameron, Wis., passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at her home. Kathy was born Oct. 31, 1957, to Stanley and Marlene (Vait) Herschman in Gibbon. She grew up on the family farm and attended Gibbon Public Schools. After graduating from high school, Kathy earned a degree in Graphic Arts from St. Cloud Vo-Tech. Her interest in art later spurred her to establish Glass with Class, specializing first in sandblasted glass items and later producing personalized cake pans for people across the globe.
On Sept. 2, 1978, Kathy was married to Al Hillmann and they took over the Hillmann family farm north of Gibbon. They were blessed with three children, Toni, age 20; Joe, age 19 and Kelli, age 15. After Al's death on Nov. 3, 1988, Kathy and her children later moved to Cameron in 1993. On Aug. 31, 1995, she was married to Dave Pavick at Cameron. They were also blessed with a son, Adam, age 7. Together they enjoyed the outdoors and dreamed of the completion of their home near the Blue Hills.
Kathy enjoyed crafts and kids ministries, but detested housework and whiners. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith in Christ, strong character, love of children and the outdoors, creativity, chocolate cravings, cake pans, camel collection and her cheerful yet realistic outlook on life.
In addition to her first husband, Kathy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Ceil (Schneider) Vait, and John and Pauline (Wendinger) Herschman. She is survived by her husband Dave Pavick of Cameron; children, Toni (Travis) Kellen of Cumberland, Wis., Joe (Megan) Hillmann of Almena, Wis., and Kelli Hillmann and Adam Pavick still at home; grandson Jacob Hillmann; parents Stanley and Marlene Herschman of Gibbon; brothers: Steve (Gail) and Al Herschman of Gibbon; her father and mothers-in-law DeLloyd and Fern Hillmann of Gibbon, and Grace Pavick of Cameron; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. today at Red Cedar Community Church in Rice Lake, with Pastor Dave Dyer officiating. A graveside service will be held on Nov. 29, 2003, at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Gibbon, with a gathering of family and friends to follow at the Church of St. Willibrord also in Gibbon. Arrangements were with Mark Rausch Funeral Service, Cameron and Dallas, Wis.

Doris Zimmerli, 74, of Wabasso, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services are 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 20, at First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Redwood Falls.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Wednesday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and Thursday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her husband Floyd of Wabasso; daughters, Nancy Guggisberg of Gibbon and Patti Maas of Walnut Grove; sons, Bill of Renville and Mike of Wabasso; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was born Dec. 11, 1928, in Waterbury Township, Redwood County, Minn., to George and Nellie (Peterson) Fridley.

Arnold Greiner, 68, of Buffalo Lake, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at the Hutchinson Community Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 21, at Hughes Funeral Home, Hector.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m., Thursday at Hughes Funeral Home, Hector with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service.
He is survived by his wife Luella of Buffalo Lake; daughters, Deb of Fairfax, Gayle of Stewart, Terry of Hector and Laurie of Brownton; son Dwane of Biscay; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was born April 17, 1935, in Bird Island to Eldon and Laura (Boone) Greiner.

Evelyn Karnos, 90, former New Ulm resident, died of natural causes Oct. 28, 2003, at St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood, Wash., while on vacation.
Mrs. Karnos was born Sept. 27, 1913, in New Ulm, to F. Willibald Eibner and Margaret (Krambeer) Eibner.
In 1938 she married Richard (Bud) Karnos, formerly manager of the Turner Club. After the outbreak of World War II they were transferred to Ft. Lewis, Wash., along with their two sons, John and Steven. Mrs. Karnos raised the children alone and remained in Lakewood after the death of her husband, Maj. Richard Karnos in Korea in 1954. She lived in Lakewood until 1996, when she moved to Anchorage, Alaska, to be near her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On her latest vacation, Evelyn was able to visit her sister, nephews, nieces, and friends from Minnesota to Washington and Oregon.
Besides many nieces and nephews, Mrs. Karnos is survived by her immediate family, John and Mary Karnos of Anchorage, Alaska, and Steven and Cheryl Karnos of Lake Bay, Wash.; sister Angeline Hamman of Corvallis, Ore.; grandchildren, Rob and Sara Karnos of Homer, Alaska, Nick and Mary Frances Karnos of Anchorage, Alaska, and Doug and Amy Bunyard of Phoenix; and great-grandchildren, Hayden and Max Karnos of Anchorage, Alaska.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother Fremont Eibner; and nephew, Tom Eibner.
As she had wished, she was cremated without ceremony with a yellow rose in her hands.
Memorial donations are suggested to "Friends of Pets" or any organization that protects and cares for pets.
Mountain View Funeral Home in Tacoma, Wash., was in charge of arrangements.

Leigh Lentz, 77, of Clements, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at the Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at Sturm Funeral Home Chapel in Springfield, with burial at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Clements.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. Chaplain Mary Pauluk officiating.
Leigh is survived by his wife Marion of Clements; sons, Rick of Rochester, Gary of Rochester, and Alan of Redwood Falls; daughter Maralee Drellack of Champlin; brothers, Herbert of Waconia; Fredrick of Avon, and Edward of Minneapolis; sisters, Beatrice Koester of Glencoe, Marlian Bandow of Gibbon, Barbara Rieke of Gibbon, and Evylin Hershman of Glendale, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Leigh Delbert Lentz was born Feb. 15, 1926, in Henry, S.D., to Edward and Mable (Jaehn) Lentz.

Reinhold Niemeier, 86, of St. James, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 21, and 7:30-11 a.m., Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home and Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by daughters, Louetta Blinkman of Ashland, Wis., Jean Rice of Alexandria, Jane Intelkofer of Carter Lake, Iowa; a son Dale of Mankato; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was born July 28, 1917, to Conrad and Mary (Mathias) Niemeier in South Branch, Minn.

Maxine Sowers, 77, of Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at St. James Hospital.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Jan. 10, 2004, at Assembly of God Church in Mountain Lake. Arrangements are with Pease Funeral Home in St. James.
Maxine is survived by her sons, Chuck Todd of Sun City, Ariz., and Kevin Todd of Madelia; daughter Sharon Diekmann of Welcome; brother Gilbert Krouch of Minneapolis; sisters, Dot Schubert of Gilbert, Ruth Anderson of Duluth, Barb Toyama of Yuma, Ariz., and Vivian Swanson of Sandstone; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Maxine Sowers was born April 21, 1926, to Ivan and Alice Krouch in Pine City.

Herbert W. Panitzke, 89, of Redwood Falls, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls
Funeral is 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 26, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church In Redwood Falls with burial in the city cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Tuesday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue on Wednesday one hour before the service at the church.
He is survived by daughters, Roberta Kohlhof of Prior Lake, Louise Loftus of Rochester; sons: Fred Panitzke of Redwood Falls, Herb Panitzke of Redwood Falls, Peter Panitzke of Muskego, Wis.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
He was boron Sept, 29, 1914, in Redwood Falls to Ferdinand and Louise (Jordan) Panitzke.

Florian Schmid, 87, of St. Paul, formerly of Springfield, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at the Lyng Blomsten Care Center in St. Paul.
Services are 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 24, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Springfield, with burial at Springfield City Cemetery.
Visitation is 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
He is survived by his son, Joseph of Lake Elmo; six grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; nine great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-granddaughters.
Florian Arthur Schmid was born Feb. 17, 1916, to Anton J. and Frances (Brandl) Schmid in Springfield.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II.

Mildred Irene (Luther) Witte, 76, of Anoka, died on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
Service is 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 25, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in St. James, with burial in Hope Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Monday, at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James; and continues 7:30-9 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home; and also 10-11 a.m. at the church.
She is survived by children, Marlene Witte of Minneapolis; Michael Witte of Brooklyn Park, and Mark Witte of St. James; two grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Jacobs of St. Charles, Dorothy Sodeman of St. James and Doris Buerkle of Portland, Ore.
She was born on May 7, 1927, in Rosendale Township, Watonwan County, to Arthur J. and Alvina A. (Engelbrecht) Luther.

Alice M. Heller, age 94, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, formerly of Winthrop, Minnesota, and Gibbon, Minnesota, passed away, Thursday, November 20, 2003, at Burns Manor Nursing Home in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 24, 2003, at Faith Lutheran Church, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Interment will be at a later date.
Visitation will be Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. and continue Monday 8:00 to 9:00 A.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Downtown Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson. Visitation will resume one hour prior to services at the church.
Alice was preceded in death by her Parents, Herman and Paulina Stark; Son, in infancy, Waldemar Doering; First Husband, Otto Doering; Second Husband, Marvin Heller.
Alice Minnie Heller was born on May 2, 1909, in Bismarck Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Herman and Paulina (Lietzau) Stark. She was baptized as an infant, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth in Bismarck. Township, Minnesota. Alice received her education at Bismarck Country School.
She was united in marriage to Otto Doering on January 20, 1929, by Reverend F. W. Tesh, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Alice and Otto farmed in the rural Gibbon areas of Moltke Township, and Bismarck Township. Alice and Otto were blessed with 13 years of marriage before Otto passed away on July 30, 1942.
On September 27, 1942, Alice was united in marriage to Marvin Heller, by Reverend O. W. Rohde, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Moltke Township, Minnesota. Alice and Marvin lived in Gibbon and then moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota in 1974, and later moved to Winthrop, Minnesota. Alice and Marvin were blessed with 53 years of marriage before Marvin passed away on September 8, 1995.
Alice worked at various jobs, including waitressing, working at a creamery, was employed for a short time at 3M and also at an egg factory. Alice never really retired. She worked part-time at Hands in Winthrop, Minnesota, until she was 90 years old. She took special interest in caring for her yard and raspberry bushes. She continued to mow her own grass through 2002. Alice enjoyed traveling, dancing, (especially Square Dancing), loom rug making and spending time outdoors. Her other favorite pastimes were playing bingo, playing cards, (especially Sheephead), and playing slot machines.
When living alone in Winthrop became a concern, she moved to Prince of Peace in Hutchinson. She resided there until February of 2003, until she needed assistance with her daily care and became a resident of Burns Manor Nursing Home in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She passed away there on November 20, 2003. Blessed be her memory.
Alice is survived by her: daughters, Mildred Doering, of Minneapolis MN; Eileen Kokesch of New Ulm, MN; sons, Norman Doering and his special friend Jean Anderson, of Brownton, MN; Larry Heller and his wife Andrea of Hutchinson, MN; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; brothers, Herman Stark of Glencoe, MN, Marvin Stark of Gibbon, MN; sisters-in-law, Helen Stark of Glencoe, MN, Lucille Stark of Hutchinson, MN; Ethel Whalen of Park City, UT; Margaret Miskowiec of Minneapolis, MN; Marion Cannon of Minneapolis, MN; and many relatives and friends.
