Otto Clobes, 81, of Fairfax, died Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax with burial in the church cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the Fairfax Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. There will be a parish prayer service at 7: p.m. Friday at the church.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Otto is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Rosemary and Gerald Cuff of Fairfax, Carol Julius of Spicer, Jean Toren and her special friend, Ron Hanson both of Franklin; sons and daughters-in-law, Leo and Gayle Clobes, Steve and Pat Clobes, Mark V. and Chris Clobes, Paul Clobes and his special friend, Rita Domeier, Alan and Tally Clobes, John Clobes all of Fairfax, Tom and Beth Clobes of Hutchinson; daughter-in-law, Sharon Clobes of Aberdeen, South Dakota; 29 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Ulrich of Winona; brother-in-law, Albert Weier of New Ulm; sisters-in-law, Alice Clobes of Lafayette, Shirley Clobes Bjerke of Lakeville, Sally Clobes of Lewiston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lozina Clobes; sons, Ronald Clobes and David Clobes; and granddaughters, Carrie Clobes and Jessica Clobes.
He was born on July 14, 1922, in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County, to Otto and Mary (Maidl) Clobes. On January 26, 1942, he married Lozina Hahn in Estherville, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army from January 25, 1945 to June 1, 1946. He was self employed and worked in the Fairfax area. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. He was a member of the American Legion Post 205 and life member of the V.F.W. both in Fairfax.

Lawrence N. Dittbenner, 87, of Morgan, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at the Redwood Area Hospital as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, at United Methodist Church in Morgan. Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Visitation is 9:30-10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls.
He is survived by wife Florence of Morgan; daughter Geri Zabrosky of Alexandria.
He was born Dec. 21, 1915, In Morgan to Adolph and Anna (Elfman) Dittbenner.

Lorenz Hafemann
ARLINGTON -- Lorenz Hafemann, 87 of Arlington, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 14, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Arlington.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until noon Sunday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and continuing one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his daughter LeaAnn Novosad of Arlington; two grandchildren; and brother Herold Hafemann of Henderson.
He was born on Aug. 20, 1916, in Jessenland Township of Sibley County to Hermann and Adeline (Bullert) Hafemann.

Gladys Lucille (Meyer) Johnson, 90, of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003 at Sunwood Care Center in Redwood Falls.
Service will be held at Sundown Lutheran Church on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m.
Burial will be in Sundown Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation is 1-2 p.m., Saturday, at Sundown Lutheran Church in Sundown Township, rural Springfield.
Arrangements are handled by Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
She is survived by her husband Ronald E. Johnson of Redwood Falls; children, Lois Mariner of Redwood Falls, Bernard (Bud) Johnson of Hardwick, David Johnson of Sanborn, Gary Johnson of Winnebago, and Sharon Firle of St. Paul; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy Meyer of Blaine, Hans Meyer of Morris; and a sister Sylvia Moore of Redwood Falls.
She was born April 18, 1913, in Willow Lake Township, Redwood Falls County, to Hans and Barbara (Dokken) Meyer.

Arleen C. Schmidt
REDWOOD FALLS -- Arleen C. Schmidt, 79, of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003 at her home.
Services are 1:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 15, at St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Sunday, at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by husband William F. "Bill" Schmidt of Redwood Falls; sons, William J. (Jack) Schmidt of Little Canada; daughters, Suzanne Cole of Scottsdale, Ariz., Dianne Stedman of Edgewater, Fla.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Norms Byram of Tempe, Ariz.; and brothers, M.W. Lang of Jamestown, N.D., Robert Lang of Flowery Branch, Ga., Edward Lang of Toronto, Ohio.
He was born Jan. 22, 1924, in Vesta to Wenzel and Anne (Yackel) Lang.

Marvin Schmitz, 77, of Saint James died on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at his home.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Sunday, and 7:30-8:30 a.m., Monday at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James. There will be a rosary prayer service at 4 p.m. Sunday followed by a parish prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife Loretta, St. James; sons, Roger Schmitz of New Hope, Dennis Schmitz of Mankato, Mark Schmitz of San Francisco, Jeff Schmitz of Owatonna, Troy Schmitz of Elk River, MN; daughter Nancy Olson of Butterfield; 12 grandchildren. six great-grandchildren; sisters, Viola Just of Heron Lake, Margaret Krohn of Chaska, and Martha Fiedler of Windom.
Marvin Schmitz was born to Peter and Katherine (DeMuth) on June 7, 1926 in Heron Lake.

Norma M. Schreyer, 96, of New Ulm died Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2003 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Friday and 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Christian Mother's Society will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. Friday at the Cathedral and there will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Norma is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Lorraine Schreyer of Bloomington; grandchildren, Barbara and David Johnson, Mary and Michael Koester, Patti Pruszinske, James Schreyer; great grandchildren, Drew and Carly Johnson, Ryan and Tyler Koester, Jessica, Jennifer and Julia Pruszinske, and Jordan Schreyer; and a sister, Isabel Miller of New Ulm. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie Schreyer on September 10, 1983; and a son, Dennis Schreyer on February 28, 1966.
Norma was born June 10, 1907 in New Ulm to Alouis and Frances (Fischer) Brey. She attended New Ulm Public Schools. She married Leslie Schreyer on July 28, 1924 at the Holy Trinity Parish House in New Ulm. After marriage they lived in New Ulm where Norma worked at Stork Brothers for more than 30 years. She was a life-long member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, the Christian Mother's Society and the Golden Agers. Norma also enjoyed playing Sheephead at the Senior Citizen's Center.
Norma's family prefers memorials to the Cathedral Scholarship Fund and the Golden Agers Senior Club.

Eldora Mae Uhde, 59, of St. James, died on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at Trimont Health Care Center in Trimont.
Service is 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James, with burial in Fort Snelling National Cemetery
Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Monday, at Sturm Funeral Home - St. James; and continues 7:30-10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
She is survived by her parents, Donald and Edna Thompson of Lake Crystal; sons, James Thompson of Fairmont, David Uhde of Fairmont; daughter, Robin Orvis of St. James; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Donald Thompson of Hillman;and sister Dianna Wittmers of Minnetonka.
She was born on May 7, 1944, to Donald and Edna (Knudson) Thompson in St. James.

Eldora P. Asendorf, 80, of Fairfax, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at her home in Fairfax.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at St. John Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in St. James.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday, at the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the time of services at the church on Monday.
Eldora is survived by her daughters, Janet Hinderman of Sleepy Eye, Diane Jensen of Westerville, Ohio, Mavis Delgado of Bloomington, and Julie Grunke of Fairfax; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Leanna Aarsvold of Lake Park, MN and Edna Metzen of New Ulm; a brother, Aaron Hoffman of Scottsdale, Ariz.
Eldora Pauline (Hoffman) Asendorf was born on Feb. 8, 1923, in St. James, to Philip and Edna (Meyer) Hoffman.

William 'Bill' Harris, 64, died Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the Springfield Medical Center-Hospital.
Services will be 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14 at the Sturm Funeral Home Chapel in Springfield, with burial at a later date in the Veteran's Section of the Springfield City Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
He is survived by mother, Gusta Harris of Morgan; sons, Ed Harris of Cottonwood, and James Harris of Cheyenne, Wyo.; daughters, Karan Iliff of Hector, and Faith Ryan of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Dwane Harris of Courtland, Jerry Harris of Washington, Rodney Harris of Redwood Falls; and sisters, Nona Selbrade of Morgan, and Arla Langford of Plymouth.
William Edward Harris was born March 2, 1939 in Amboy, the son of Harold and Gusta (Urban) Harris.

Jeanette Miller, 55, of Gibbon died Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at the home of her son in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2003 at the Clear Lake Baptist Church in Severance Township, Sibley County with burial at a later date in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Union Star, Missouri.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of servce at the church on Monday.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Marland L. Miller of Gibbon; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Andrea Miller, Bill and Roxane Miller all of New Ulm; grandchildren, Grace Miller and Madius Miller; sisters and brothers-in-law, Willa Jean and Buff Thorton of Maysville Missouri, Mary and Keith Watson of Cameron, Missouri; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Eva Ebersold of Cameron, Missouri, Bill and Maxine Ebersold of Sadelia, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Donald Lee Ebersold and Bob Ebersold.
She was born on May 26, 1948 in Union Star, Missouri to Herman and Lucille (Chapman) Ebersold. On December 4, 1972 she married Marland Miller in Mirable, Missouri. After marriage they lived in Liberty, Missouri until 1981 when they moved to Gibbon. She had worked at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center in Winthrop for 6 years and then at the Burns Manor in Hutchinson for 4 years. Later she worked at the Hutchinson Community Hospital in Hutchinson for 6 years. Jeanette enjoyed bowling, crafting, ceramics, crocheting, bible study at church and being an adult leader of the Awana Club at church. She was a member of the Clear Lake Baptist Church in Severance Township, Sibley County.

LeRoy Rasmussen, 77 of Wabasso died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003 in Wabasso Health Care Center.
Services will be10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Wabasso with burial in the Waterbury Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday and Monday one hour prior to services in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Wabasso. There will be a prayer service Sunday evening at 7 p.m. in
the church. The Sunset Burial and Cremation Association of Wabasso and Echo is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife Maxine of Wabasso; four children; Dr. Ronald Rasmussen of Pipestone, Barb Beranek of Lamberton, Dean Rasmussen of Bloomington and Curtis Rasmussen of Lucan; 10 grandchildren; one great grandson; brothers and sisters, Robert Rasmussen of Walnut Grove, Alan Rasmussen of Antioch, Calif., Harlan Rasmussen of Sanborn, Marian Sinclair of Indianola, Iowa, Glennis Pearson of Worthington and Sharon Yager of Minneapolis.
Leroy P. Rasmussen was born Friday, November 12, 1926 in Delton Township, Cottonwood County to Peter and Marvel (Grunig) Rasmussen.

Hedwig Schultz, 96, of Hector, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector, with burial in the Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector.
She is survived by a brother, Otto Nicolai of Prairie View Center in Hector, and a sister, Emma Malquist of the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Hedwig Louise Amanda Schultz was born Dec. 19, 1906, to August and Louise (Froehlich) Nicolai on a farm near Hector.

Elfrieda 'Elly' Anderson, 77, or rural Nicollet, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at the New Ulm Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nicollet, with Rev. Ronald Siemers officiating. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Monday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements are with Mankato Mortuary.
Elfrieda is survived by her husband Will Anderson of rural Nicollet; daughter Judy Palmquist of North Mankato; and son John Anderson of rural Lake Crystal.
Elfrieda was born Jan. 26, 1926, to Arthur and Lydia (Baur) Streich in Sanborn.

Howard E. Arndt, 90, of Lamberton, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at Church of Christ in Lamberton, with Rev. Homer Dobsen officiating. Burial will be in the Lamberton Cemetery. Visitation will be at 5 - 7 p.m. Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton and will continue one hour prior to service Tuesday at the church.
Howard is survived by his brothers, Ellsworth Arndt of Windom, and Allen Arndt of Windom.
Howard Eugene Arndt was born March 13, 1913, to Emil and Lena (Hanefeld) Arndt in Amo Township, Cottonwood County.
