Lyle A. Fox, 73, of Lamberton died on Monday, January 12, 2004, at his home in Lamberton.
Visitation will be 7:30 to 9 a.m. today at the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton.
Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton.
Service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton on Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at 11 a.m. The Clergy will be Pastor Lee R. Harder and Theodora K. Hall with interment at the Lamberton Cemetery.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton.
Lyle A. Fox was born July 19, 1930, to Arthur and Viola (Arnoldi) Fox. Lyle was confirmed in the Sharon Lutheran Church in 1945. He graduated from Lamberton High School in 1948 and joined the Armed Forces in March of 1951. After his honorable discharge in 1954, Lyle farmed in the Lamberton area. In 1967 he married Audrey Wacker in Stewart. After retiring from farming in 1993, they moved into Lamberton in 1996. Over the years, Lyle served as Secretary on the Church Council; as treasurer for the Farmers Livestock Shipping Association; as Chaplain and Commander for the Lamberton Legion Post 41; and was a promoter and loyalist to the Lamberton Community.
Lyle enjoyed fishing, bowling, dancing, golfing, playing cards, gardening, playing pool, and following sports. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends.
Lyle died on Monday at his home in Lamberton at the age of 73 years.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey of Lamberton; children, Jodie and husband Bill Sonterre of Eagan, Mila and husband Steve Quiring of New Ulm, Melodie and husband David Karge of Mankato, and Kristie and husband Greg Weigel of Prior Lake; 15 grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Jr. and wife Janelle Fox of New Ulm; and a sister, Rosalee and husband Howard Davis of Windom. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Viola Fox.

Rosella Grimm, 83, of Gaylord, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 16, at St. Michael's Church in Gaylord with burial in the Gaylord Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Thursday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord; and continues one hour before services Friday at the church.
She is survived by husband Walter Grimm of Gaylord; sons, Frank Grimm of rural Gaylord, John Grimm of Wyoming; daughters, Lois Bies of Sturtevant, Wis., Jane Goettl of New Auburn; and sister, Luella Hubers of Shakopee; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was born Sept. 5, 1920, in Chanhassen Township, Carver County, to Gerhardt and Veronica (LaTour) Juerissen.

Marvin W. Mischke, 85, of Fulda and formerly of Buffalo Lake and Springfield, died Jan. 12, 2003, at the Worthington Regional Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 16, at English Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove, with burial in the Westbrook City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Thursday, at Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service and continues one hour before the service Friday at the church.
He is survived by brother Willard Mischke of Westbrook; and sister Glorida Jacobs of Walnut Grove.
He was born June 30, 1918, in rural Westbrook, to August B. and Louisa Eichner Mischke.

Dennis Palmer, 91, of Winthrop, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral services are Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at 11 a.m., at Bernadotte Lutheran Church, in Bernadotte Twp., Nicollet Co. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop.
Dennis Arvid Manford Palmer was born Feb. 11, 1912, in Alfsborg Twp., Sibley Co., MN. He was the son of Alfred and Esther (Hed) Palmer.
Dennis married Selma Anna Louise Bauer on Nov. 24, 1935, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mountville. They resided in Winthrop and Gaylord. In 1937, they moved to Bernadotte where they owned and operated the Bernadotte Store, for 6 years. Dennis also had the Winthrop Creamery route for a year. In 1944, they purchased the Palmer family farm in Alfsborg Twp. They farmed until 1982, when they retired and moved into Winthrop.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Selma; brothers, Donald Palmer and his wife Linton and Edna Palmer and brother-in-law, William Franke.
Dennis is survived by his: daughter and her spouse, Adrianne and Lowell Sjostrom of Winthrop; grandchildren and their spouses, Steve and Deb Sjostrom of Lafayette, Joan and Mark Johnson of Plato, Carla and Scott Kuehn of Plato and Patti and Joe Strukel of Huntley; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Nicholas Johnson, Lucas, Megan, and Jacob Sjostrom, Madeline, Joshua and Elias Kuehn and Grant Strukel; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Henry and Ruth Trebelhorn of Richfield, Harold and Anna Bauer of Brownton, Hilda Bauer of Stewart, Luella Bauer of Gaylord and Helen Palmer of Hot Springs Village, AR.

Luanne M. Pomplum, 56,of Arlington, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Services are 11.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, at Kolden Funeral Chapel in Arlington, with burial in the Arlington Public Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Friday, and continues one hour before the service at the funeral home.
She is survived by husband Donald of Arlington; son Tom of Arlington; one granddaughter; and sister, Lila Schoelkooph of Brooklyn Park.
She was born June 24, 1947, in Glencoe, to Melvin and Marie (Nieland) Ellies.

George Guemmer, 87, of Redwood Falls, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004 at Redwood Area Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. today, at Schmucker Funeral Service Chapel, New Ulm. Burial will be in New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday at the funeral chapel, one hour prior to the service.
He was born May 10, 1916 in New Ulm to Louis and Anna (Grunert) Guemmer.

Adelaide Novak, 94, of Redwood Falls, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at the Sunwood Care Center in Redwood Falls.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Redwood Falls. Burial will be in at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Olivia.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Friday with a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service, Redwood Falls.
She is survived by daughters, Gwen Kipfer of Redwood Falls and Sandra Hansel of Moraga, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, A.C. Prussner of Menagha.
She was born May 25, 1909 in Chicago, Ill. to Alvin and Marie (Krause) Prussner.

Mary Lou Gartman, 62, formerly of Oakfield WI, died on January 10, 2004, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, WI.
She was born Oct. 11, 1941, in Pardeeville, WI, a daughter to the late Elmer and Verna (Gnerlich) Kunz. On March 18, 1960, she married Ken Gartman in Galena, IL.
Survivors include one daughter, Robyn Newkirk of Fond du Lac; two grandsons, Dylan and Tyler Beilke and their father Ray Beilke of Fond du Lac; three brothers, Dave (Lynn) Kunz of Fond du Lac, Jim Kunz of Grand Forks, ND, and Paul (Sandi) Kunz of Bonita Springs, FL.; two sisters, Joan (Bill) Koch of New Berlin, WI, and Sister M. Alice Kunz of New Ulm, MN.; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Marie Gartman.
Visitation was held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at the Zacherl Funeral Home, Fond du Lac, WI.
Services: A Liturgy of the Word Memorial Service was held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Zacherl Funeral Home, Fond du Lac, WI with Deacon Larry Hughes officiating. Cremation has taken place and burial of ashes will be in the spring.

Richard A. Benson, 86, of St. Peter, formerly of New Ulm, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004 at the St. Peter Health Care Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in North Mankato. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Landkamer-Johnson-Boman Funeral Home and also one hour prior to services at the church.
Survivors include sons Grant Douglas Benson of New Ulm, Richard Stephen Benson of Nicollet, Curtis Neal Benson of Mapleton, Utah, Mark Timothy Benson of Buffalo and Bryce Jared Benson of Overland Park, Kan.; daughters, Melissa Jane Donner of Waseca and Melanie Loan Morrow of Madison Lake; 31 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Hamar of Auburn, Wash. and Gerald and wife Gladys of Fort Collins, Colo.

Adeline Bruns, 66 of rural Sleepy Eye died of cancer Thursday, January 15, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Winthrop.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2004 at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Timothy Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 3 - 8 p.m. Sunday and from 7:30 until 8:30 a.m. on Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue on Monday for one hour prior to the time of service at the church.
Adeline is survived by her husband, Richard, of rural Sleepy Eye; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Larry Christensen of Morgan, Karen and Troy Traulich and Kelly and Brady Dalton all of New Ulm; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Chris Bruns of Lafayette; grandchildren, Heidi and Holly Bruns, Emma and Erin Christensen, and Mitchell and Shane Traulich; sisters and brothers-in-law Florence "Flossie" and Daniel Halvorson of Sleepy Eye, Jane and Tom Mueller of New Ulm; brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry F. and Lydia Liesenfeld of Sleepy Eye; Wilbert "Willie" and Jan Liesenfeld of Post Falls, Idaho; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lois and Ronald Dauffenbach of Grants, New Mexico, Sylvia Wills of St. Peter, Ardis and Harlan Wills, Myron and Lila Bruns, Gary and Shirley Bruns, and Tom and Ann Bruns all of New Ulm, Roger Bruns of North Mankato; and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Jr. and Clara Liesenfeld, her twin brother at birth, a nephew, Leo Liesenfeld, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dick and Stella Bruns, a brother-in-law Wally Wills, and a sister-in-law, Lois Bruns.
Adeline was born on September 6, 1937 in New Ulm to Henry Jr. and Clara (Zeig) Liesenfeld. She attended country school rural New Ulm and then the last several years she attended school in New Ulm. On January 27, 1962 she was united in marriage to Richard Bruns at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Courtland. Prior to her marriage she had worked at Herberger's in New Ulm. In 1963 Adeline and Richard moved to Adeline's family farm in Sigel Township, Brown County where they farmed together and still remain on the farm up until her death. She also did seasonal work at Advertising Unlimited in Sleepy Eye, worked in the meat department at the former Randall's store in New Ulm, and then at the Sausage Shop in New Ulm. Adeline was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm, she coached girls softball at the Sigel Ball Park and enjoyed spending time at her grandchildren's activities.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the donors choice.

Eleanor (Kahle) Helget, 79, of Princeton and formerly of New Ulm died Thursday, January 15, 2004 in Princeton.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2004 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Geraldine Ann Simpson of Detroit Lakes, Norma Jean Helget Shaffer and her husband, Gary of Cambridge, Ardyce Marie Olsen and her husband, Gerald of Coon Rapids, Jacqueline Eleanor Thorsbakken of Princeton, Brenda Joyce Helget of Owatonna; sons, Martin Emil Helget and his wife, Deann of East Bethel, Robert Gregory Helget and his wife, Nancy of Omaha, Nebraska, Daniel Joseph Helget and his wife, Jana of New Ulm; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Marquardt of New Ulm, Roselyn MacAntyre of Maple Grove; brothers, Louis Kahle and his wife, Dolores of New Ulm, Adolph "Red" Kahle and his wife Dori of Sacramento, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norbert Helget on January 5, 1998, brothers, Edwin in infancy and Thomas Kahle on August 13, 1999.
Eleanor was born June 1, 1924 in Olivia, Minnesota to August and Rose (Majxner) Kahle. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School and was a 1943 graduate of Holy Trinity Catholic High School in New Ulm. After high school she worked as a sales clerk for Sears and Dayton's in downtown Minneapolis. She married Norbert Helget on February 27, 1945 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage they farmed in Wyoming and Dalbo, Minnesota; They moved to New Ulm in 1974 where they were independent truckers for International Trucking of Rochester and other trucking firms. They retired in 1992. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. She was a 4-H leader in Anoka and Isanti Counties, a member of the Dairy Herd Improvement Association, and loved art, reading, education, and she loved to cook. Her greatest joy was her family and friends.

Rodney "Jeff" Jeffery, 61, of Madison Lake, died Wednesday morning Jan. 14, 2004, in an automobile accident.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Mankato Mortuary. Visitation is Sunday, Jan. 18 from 2 to 5 p.m., and again at 9:30 a.m. on Monday before the funeral. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family request memorials be made to Cure Autism Now (www.canfoundation.org).
Jeff is survived by his wife, Joyce, his sons Kent (wife Kathy), Jai (Annika), and Terry (Meg); six grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Lynch (husband Bob) and Diane Shurgot ("Sonny").

Leslie R. Mattison, 89, of Lamberton, died on Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 at Valley View Manor Care Center in Lamberton
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton with interment in the Lamberton Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m.Monday at the Sturm Funeral
Home in Lamberton. Visitation will continue on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton.
He is survived by his children, Patrick Mattison of Texas, Luvern (Butch) Mattison of Walnut Grove, and Diane Jofery of Hermitage, Penn.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph Mattison of Wisconsin.
Leslie Roy Mattison was born March 7, 1914 in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County, to Nels and Lizzie (Tollefson) Mattison. He served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 26, 1942 to Oct. 12 1945, serving in Germany, Belgium and France.

Pearl Money, 97, of Mankato, formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Thursday, January 15, 2004, at Mankato Lutheran Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Evan, with interment in the Prairieville Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
Pearl was born on Feb. 17, 1906 on the family farm near Evan to Jens Peter and Carrie (Christensen) Madsen.

Lieutenant Colonel James D. Blauert (ret.) died January 17, 2004 in Houston, Texas.
He was born in New Ulm to the late A. E. and Irma Habberberg Blauert on July 23, 1921. He served his country as a Bombardier in World War II, and as an Aviator in the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts. He retired from the military as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1969, having received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star, 6 Air Medal awards, and numerous other medals and awards.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Jimmie Simpson Blauert; daughter, Janis A. Hervey; son, James Gary Blauert & wife Janice of Virginia Beach, Virginia; grandchildren, Brian Hervey, Allison Hervey, Aaron Hervey, Beth Blauert, Christopher Blauert; and great-grandchildren, Brandon and Joshua.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m.. on Monday, January 19, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 4040 Watonga, Houston, Texas 77092 with Pastor John Cain, Pastor Eugene Heckman, and Dr. Laurence White officiating. Memorial Contributions can be made in his name to Gethsemane Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
