Marcia Kitzberger, 77, of 825 North Washington Street in New Ulm died Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2004 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Father John Richter will celebrate.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 - 10 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Marcia is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Maria and Mike Jacobson, Martha and Gerald Jaus, all of New Ulm, Andrea and Reed Stelljes of Minneapolis; sons and daughter-in-law, Peter and Rita Kitzberger of rural New Ulm, Franz Kitzberger of Tokyo, Japan; one daughter-in-law, Rhonda Kitzberger Dahlgren and her husband Joel of New ULm; six grandchildren; one great grandson; two nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Peter Kitzberger on January 21, 1986; a son, Paul Kitzberger on August 31, 1991; and a brother, Lew L. Stemmer Jr..
Marcia was born July 5, 1926 in Minneapolis to Lew L. and Martha (Welch) Stemmer. She was a graduate of St. Margaret's Academy in Minneapolis, then the College of St. Catherine's in St. Paul where she received a degree in nursing. She then worked as an RN at the St. Mary's Hospital in Minneapolis where she met her husband. She was united in marriage with Dr. Peter Kitzberger on May 7, 1949 at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Wayzata. After marriage they resided in New Ulm. Marcia was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary International for her contributions to world understanding and peace in 1986 and continued to contribute to other humanitarian causes. Marcia was a compassionate caregiver. After raising six children, she was her late husband Peter's home dialysis nurse for several years. She enjoyed wild flowers, birding, entertaining family and friends, and keeping up on current events with her in-home caregiver and friend Donna Arnsdorf. She was active in several community organizations including the New Ulm Medical Center Auxiliary, Brown County Historical Society and the German-Bohemian Society. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.

Raymond R. 'Judge' Kronback, 70, of Lake Shetek, formerly of rural Lamberton, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Service is 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 23, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lamberton, with burial in Lamberton Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m.,Thursday, at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton, and continues Friday for one hour prior to services at the church.
Survivors include wife Margee of Lake Shetek; daughters, Trudi Juhnke of Lamberton, Amy Kramer of Blue Earth; two grandsons; stepchildren, Tracey Besser of Litchfield, Michelle Nordhausen of St. James, Heidi Irlbeck of Redwood Falls, Wade Taylor of Prior Lake; six stepgrandchildren; and brothers, Glen Kronback of Lamberton, and Vernon Kronback of Lamberton.
Raymond Russell 'Judge' Kronback was born Jan. 11, 1934, in Lamberton Township, Redwood County, to George and Ora (Wilson) Kronback.

Helen L. (Fox) Miesen, 89, of Lamberton, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
Service is 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lamberton. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery near Lamberton.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton.
Visitation is 9:30-10:30 a.m,. Saturday at the church.
She is survived by children, Robert Miesen of Shorewood, Anne Grimm of W. St. Paul, Jane Gordy of Andover, and Mark Miesen of Littleton, Colo.; and eight grandchildren.
She was born July 2, 1914, in Fairmont, Minn., to Anthony and Anna Catherine Fox.

Gerald O'Neil, 56, formerly of Morton, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, in Minneapolis.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service, Redwood Falls. Burial with military honors will be in Morton City Cemetery.
He is survived by daughters, Shannon Oberlies of Long Beach, Miss.; Megan of Buffalo; son Eric of Burnsville; six grandchildren; sisters Barb Greenslit of Hastings and Sue O'Neil of Tomah, Wis.; and a brother Rick of Morton.
He was born Jan. 14, 1948, in Redwood Falls to Marvin and Hazel (Blue) O'Neil.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969, including two tours in Vietnam.

Arnold J. Tauer 81, of Morgan, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at home.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are with Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls.
He is survived by a brother Leo of Morgan; and a sister Evelyn Reding of Redwood Falls.
He was born April 22, 1922, in Morgan to Frank and Catherine (Rothmeier) Tauer.

Gerald Kelley, 68, of rural Nicollet died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 26, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet with burial in the Swan Lake Catholic Cemetery in Brighton Township, Nicollet County.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue one before the service at the church on Monday. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Lucille Kelley of rural Nicollet; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Brad Peterson of rural New Ulm, Marcy and Robert Yarger of rural Lake Crystal; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Peggy Kelley, David and Wendy Kelley all of rural Nicollet; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Christine Miscavage, Teresa Miscavage both of Virginia, Mary Jo Crego and her husband, Peter of Maple Grove, Julie Miscavage of Hutchinson; a stepson, Joseph Lee Miscavage of Hutchinson; and by thirteen stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Wendy Kelley in infancy; a grandson, Jon Peterson in infancy; and Vernita (Forst) Kelley.
Gerald Kelley was born on Jan. 12, 1936, in Sleepy Eye to George and Veronica (Reibel) Kelley. He served in the U.S. Army. On Sept. 17, 1994, he married Lucille Hrdlicka at the Episcopal Church in Hutchinson. He was a Federal Crop Insurance Specialist for 25 years and farmed in Brighton Township, Nicollet County until 1994. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, bird watching and star gazing. He was a past member and usher at the Church of the Visitation and was currently a member and usher at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet. He was a member of the American Legion Post 510 in Nicollet.

Florence Jerzak, 81, of New Ulm died Thursday, January 22, 2004 at the New Ulm Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30 until 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and then for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday.
Florence is survived by her five daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Dave Lutzwick of Little Falls, Linda and John Richards of Coon Rapids, Debbie and Dawayne Sehr of New Ulm, Sandy and Al Hansen of Canby, and Beckie and Bob Strom of St. Peter; grandchildren, Trista, Ben, Sara, Ryan, Bobby, and Daren; great grandchildren, Annalisha, Hunter, and one on the way; her sisters, Clara Nilges and Berthina Moen both of Ivanhoe; and her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Ann Tholen of Ivanhoe. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max Jerzak on February 2, 1996; grandson, John Lutzwick; sister, Janet Lozinski; and brother, Edward Tholen.
Florence was born on June 30, 1922 in Arco to William and Mary (Uphoff) Tholen. She attended school in Ivanhoe. On September 11, 1945, she married Max Jerzak. They farmed in Ivanhoe until moving to New Ulm in 1969. She worked at various businesses in New Ulm until retirement. She was a member of several card clubs. Florence enjoyed search words, solitaire, crocheting, and shopping.
Florence, the gentle lady, will be missed greatly by her five loving daughters and family to whom she devoted all of her time.

Norbert R. Bruess, 80, of rural Springfield, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at the Springfield Medical Center.
Funeral services are 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye with burial in Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, and 9-11 a.m., Wednesday, Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

Veronica Huhn, 89, of rural Gibbon, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 at the Lake View Nursing Home in Gaylord.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m.Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the St. George Catholic Church in St. George with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-10 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Veronica is survived by her sisters, Elenora Huhn a resident of the Lake View Home in Gaylord, and Marcella Sellner of Newport; and a brother, Albert Huhn of rural Gibbon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, John Huhn on October 15, 1999.
Veronica was born on August 19, 1914, in West Newton Township, Nicollet County to John and Gertrude (Voltin) Huhn. She attended country school in West Newton Township, Nicollet County. At the age of twenty- eight, she moved to the Twin Cities area where she worked as a maid and later as a cook for various families. In the late Sixties, she moved back home to care for her mother, Gertrude. In October of 1999, she became resident of the Lake View Nursing Home in Gaylord. She was a member of the St. George Catholic Church in St. George.

LuVerna D. Weckworth, 82, of Gaylord, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Services are 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Monday; and 7:30-8:30 a.m,. Tuesday, at the Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord; and continues one hour before services Tuesday at the church.
LuVerna is survived by son Howard Weckworth of rural Arlington; daughters, Karen Burzynski of Hutchinson, Bonnie Nelson of Litchfield; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and sister Sophia Bentz of Glencoe.
She was born March 17, 1921, in Bergen Township, McLeod County, to Jacob and Olga (Voss) Terlinden.

Norbert R. Bruess, 80,of rural Springfield died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 at Springfield Medical Center.
Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye with interment in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Norbert Raymond Bruess was born on July 22, 1923 in Leavenworth Township, Brown County, to George and Mary (Peske) Bruess.

Dennis Bruns, 74, of St. Peter died Sunday Jan 25, 2004 at St. Peter Community Hospital.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 27 from 4:00-8:00 at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 28 at 11:00 with visitation one hour before the service at Trinity Lutheran Church St. Peter, MN, interment after the service at Green Hill Cemetery. St. Peter Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Dennis was born April 15, 1929 in Rural Courtland, baptized & confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church Rural Courtland, MN. Dennis married Oradell (Dell) Wills on Sept 11, 1952 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church St, Peter, MN.
Dennis served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 stationed in Colorado Springs CO.
Dennis worked as a mechanic for 10 years until he started with the City of St. Peter in 1965, retiring in1990.
Dennis was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter, MN., Nicollet Co Fair Board, and the American Legion.
Dennis enjoyed volunteering with AAL and later Thrivent as well as other organizations.
He was known for his love of polka music, baking fresh bread, and canning jelly.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Oradell (Dell), one son Rick and his wife Andrea and one daughter Tammy and her husband Tim Poppen all of St. Peter, three grandchildren, Melissa Bruns and her special friend Jeremy Reintjes, Benjamin Bruns and Chad Poppen, all of St. Peter. One sister, Dolores and her husband Delmont Syverson of Mankato, two brothers, Virgil and his wife Mary Bruns of Courtland and Darwin and his wife Carla Bruns of St. Peter, brother in law James Stein of Courtland and sister in law Sylvia Wills of St. Peter, 15 nieces and nephews, 23 great nieces and nephews and many Godchildren. Also special family friend Sarah Swenson.
He was preceded in death by his mother Selma (Precht) Bruns, father Fred (Fritz) Bruns, Jr. and step mother Verneeda (Bendix) Bruns, mother in law Minnie (Severin) Wills and father in law Wilbur Wills, one brother at birth, one sister Arlene (Bruns) Stein and one brother in law Wallace Wills.

Hildegard E. Carlson, age 91 of Cokato, MN, formerly of Winthrop, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2004, at the Cokato Manor.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 28, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at First Lutheran Church in Lafayette. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, from 7:30 - 8:00 a.m., at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the time of services at the church on Wednesday.
Hildegard Esther (Hagberg) Carlson was born September 10, 1912, in Lafayette Twp., Nicollet Co., MN. She was the daughter of Julius and Levina (Youngblom) Hagberg.
Hildegard graduated from Winthrop High School in 1930. She continued her education at Mankato Teacher's College and graduated in 1934.
Hildegard was united in marriage with Roy E. Carlson on May 29, 1937, on the Hagberg farm place in Lafayette Twp.
After their marriage, Hildegard and Roy lived and farmed in Cornish Twp., Sibley Co. During her lifetime, she worked as a telephone operator in Lafayette and also did substitute teaching. The couple retired from farming in 1980 and moved into Winthrop and Hildegard worked at Hands, Inc. In the fall of 2000, she moved to Cokato.
She was a lifelong, active member of First Lutheran Church in Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy on April 18, 1994; and brothers, Milford, Willard, and Donald Hagberg.
Hildegard is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Rev. David Martens of Buffalo, MN and Donna and Ronald Fielding of Rochester, NY; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and RoxAnne Carlson of Cokato; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Marie Hagberg of Eustice, FL; sisters, Evelyn Ulrich of New Ulm, MN and Gladys Downey of Milwaukee, WI; special nieces, Jayne Carlson of Prairie Du Sac, WI and Marcia Nyman of Freemont, CA; sister-in-law, Ida Carlson of Westbrook, MN and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Robert 'Hodell' Rudell, 37, of 309 South Broadway in New Ulm, died Friday, January 23, 2004 at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 7:30-10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Robert is survived by his mother, "Lonnie" Rudell and Gill Rose of New Ulm; his daughter, Larissa of Sleepy Eye; his son, Jaden of Sleepy Eye; sisters, Debbie Heinz, Donny Sellner both of New Ulm, and Darcy Rudell, Blaine Hennen both of New Ulm; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Mary Rudell of Mesa, Arizona; nieces and nephews, Rachel, Josh, Jenny, Jill and Dustin; a great nephew, Hunter; uncles and aunts, Glenn and Cleo Bolduan, Ron and Linda Bolduan all of New Ulm; many cousins; and his special friend, Janet Westberg, Justin, Brooke and Brianna. He is preceded in death by his father, Byron Rudell on May 29, 1999; and by his grandparents.
Robert was born on March 24, 1966 in New Ulm to Byron and Lavonne (Bolduan) Rudell. He graduated from New Ulm Public High School and then served in the U.S. Navy. He worked various jobs in the Twin Cities area and then worked for fishing companies in Alaska until 1998 when he returned to New Ulm and work various jobs. He enjoyed being with his children and friends and loved fishing, sports, camping, and riding his Harley. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm.

Lester Beeck, 77, of Fulda died Jan. 23, 2004, at the Royal C. Johnson Veteran Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fulda, with burial in Prairie Hill Cemetery, Fulda. Arrangements are with Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his children, Tim and his wife Glenda Beeck of Courtland, and Anna and husband Randy Gilbertson of Worthington; four grandchildren; seven sisters and two brothers.
