Janet R. Wenninger, 65, of 116 South Front Street in New Ulm, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 11, at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Thursday.
Janet is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Deb and Dean Smith of Madelia, Denise Ferguson of Springfield, Elaine "Lanie" Bukkila and her fiancé, Rick Ewald both of Clements, Sue and Peter Rothmeier of New Ulm; sons, Robert Wenninger and his special friend, Carrie Stone of New Ulm, Daniel Wenninger and his special friend, Kim Sellner of New Ulm; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-granddaughter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marcy and Jim Henle of New Ulm, Ruth and John Rewitzer Jr. of Courtland; brothers and sister-in-law, Wesley and Doris Guemmer of St. Cloud and Richard Guemmer of New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Elsworth and Elton Guemmer.
Janet was born July 3, 1938 in Courtland Township, Nicollet County, to Arthur B. and Angeline M. (Arbes) Guemmer. Janet worked at the Wear Well Garment Factory, Woolworth's and then Holm Industries until she retired on April 3, 1995.

Joseph L. Augustin, 82, of Faribault and formerly of St. James, died on Monday, March 8, 2004, at the District One Hospital, Faribault.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 12, at 10 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church at Sacred Heart, Faribault. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Thursday, March 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. and also at the church for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Joseph L. Augustin was born on May 13, 1921, in Mulligan Township, Brown County, Minnesota, to Louis and Clara (Eckstein) Augustin. He served in the United States Navy during WWII, participating in the Invasion of D-Day. He married Frances Margaret Drexler on October 17, 1950, at Olivia. She preceded him in death on July 31, 1989. Joseph was employed by the Brown County Highway Department for 25 years and he also farmed in the Albin Township, rural Brown County. He was a lifetime member of the St. James VFW. He was a past member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. Following his retirement, he provided volunteer transportation for the Human Services Departments of Watonwan County and Rice County.
He is survived by seven children, Patricia (and Mert) Becker of Maple Grove, David (and Sharon) Augustin of Faribault, Douglas (and Julie) Augustin of Faribault, Dean (and Sharon) Augustin of Plano, TX, Jane (and Jay) Fox of Hastings, Kris (and Stacy) Augustin of Murphy, TX and Faye (and Randy) Bolduc of Brooklyn Park; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Sylvia Mangen of Sleepy Eye and one brother, Robert (and Angela) Augustin of Comfrey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances; four brothers, Edelbert, Urban, Leo and Russell; and one sister, Delrose Moldan.

Ingebor Larson, 89, of Hanska, died Monday, March 8, 2004, at Luther Memorial Home, Madelia.
Services are 10 a.m., Thursday, March 11, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hanska with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Schmucker Funeral Home, Hanska and Thursday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was born Nov. 29, 1914, in Emmons to Edward and Marie (Butler) Bergerson.

Walter A. Schauer, 92, of rural Green Isle, died Monday, March 8, 2004, at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
Services are 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 12, at Zion Lutheran Church in Green Isle Township, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Thursday at Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington; and continues one hour before the service Friday at the church.
He is survived by wife Sophie Schauer of rural Green Isle; children, Darwin Schauer of Cass Lake, Elaine Wolter of Arlington, Angela Rathbun of Woodbury, Norman Schauer of Green Isle; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Schloendorf of Benson.
He was born May 5, 1911, in Green Isle Township to Frederick and Adeline (Rucks) Schauer.

Grace (O'Neill) Weinstock, 99, of Lake Bluff, Ill., died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at her home.
Services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, March 11, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Comfrey. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 9 -10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, is handling arrangements.
Grace Weinstock was born Dec. 16, 1904, in Comfrey to Charles and Lydia (Holland) O'Neill.

Reuben Batalden, 87, of Lamberton, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Springfield Medical Center in Springfield.
Service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 12, at Highwater Lutheran Church in rural Lamberton. Burial will be at Highwater Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton, and will continue at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
He is survived by his wife Frances of Lamberton; his son Roger of Lamberton; three granddaughters; three great-grandchildren, and a sister Ethel Steffen of Lamberton.
Reuben Matthew Batalden was born March 7, 1917, in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County, to Meyer and Hilda (Quam) Batalden.

Leslie Vernon Peterson, 90, of Springfield, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 12, at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel.
Interment is Friday at the Springfield City Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour before the service at the chapel
Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home of Springfield.
He is survived by sons, Ray Peterson of Butterfield, Harold Peterson of New Ulm; daughter, Arlene Harlow of Ash Flat, Ariz.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother Fred Peterson of Mountain Lake; sisters, Gladys Russenberger of Sanborn, Ethel Thornblad of Slayton, and Hazel Fredin of Mountain Lake.
Leslie 'Pete' Vernon Peterson was born Feb. 1, 1914 in Royal, Iowa, to Perry and Cora (Macabee) Peterson.

Harland Walter, 85, of Hastings and formerly of Lafayette, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, at Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 13 at First Lutheran Church in Lafayette with burial in the First Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to the time of service at the church on Saturday.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home of New Ulm is handling arrangements.
Harland is survived by his wife Betty of the Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings; daughters and sons-in-law Colleen and Hubertus Sarrazin of Hastings and Nola Walter and Layton Traver of Hudson, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Alexus and his wife Krystyna Sarrazin of Racine, Wisconsin and Alicia Sarrazin of Hastings; brothers and sisters-in-law Clarence and Harriet Walter of Watertown, South Dakota and Leonard and Marie Walter of Clear Lake, South Dakota; and sisters and brothers-in-law Norma Koch of California, Grace and Ray Woods of Doland, South Dakota, and Leona and Bob Isenberg of St. Peter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harvey.
Harland was born June 14, 1918, in Duell County, South Dakota, to Hans and Meta (Beutler) Walter, the oldest of seven children. He joined the Air Corps in World War II, serving from 1942-1946 in El Paso, Texas. He worked at newspapers in Clear Lake, South Dakota; Madison, Minnesota; and Spencer, Iowa before moving to Mora where he and a partner operated a shopper-style newspaper. It was there that he met Betty Johnson. They were married on Thanksgiving Day 1948. Harland worked briefly in commercial printing in Milaca and was an advertising representative with a Mankato firm before Harland and Betty bought the Lafayette Ledger, publishing their first issue October 27, 1950. Although they sold the newspaper in 1979, Harland continued to help out at the newspaper until shortly before he and Betty moved to Hastings in April 2000 to be closer to their daughters as health issues arose. Harland lived on his own until moving to Augustana Health Care Center recently.
During his years in Lafayette, Harland was active in many organizations. He was a charter member and first president of the Lafayette Area Lions Club and received the Melvin Jones Award from the Lions organization. He was a 50-year member of the Lafayette American Legion and was a member of the Lafayette Commercial/Community Club, Lafayette Industries, Masons, the Minnesota Newspaper Association and the Printers Guild. He helped organize the Lafayette Historical Society. The Walters were honored by Mayor Arden DeBoer at "Harland and Betty Walter Day in Lafayette" April 25, 2000, before they moved to Hastings.

Ruth Allen, 89, of Madelia, died Thursday, March 11, 2004, at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 15, at Madelia Church of Christ. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-6 p.m., Sunday, at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia and one hour before the service Monday at the church.
She is survived by husband George; daughter, Linda Allen of Madelia; and brother, Mike McLean of New Ulm.

Irene Hokanson, 97, of Bayport, formerly of Winthrop, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Center in Stillwater.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, March 15, at Faith United Church, in Winthrop. Burial will be in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel, in Winthrop; and continues one hour before services Monday at the church.
Irene is survived by her daughters, Bette Miller of Aitkin, and Mary Sjostrom of Ramsey; eight grandchildren, and14 great-grandchildren.
Irene Mae (Johnson) Hokanson was born April 21, 1906, in Hallack, Minn., to Charles and Selma (Lundquist) Johnson.

Bertha Kerkhoff, 99, of Morgan, died Thursday, March 11, at Gil-Mor in Morgan.
Services are 11 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2004, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 9:30-11 a.m., Saturday, at the church, with a combined parish and St. Anne's CCW rosary at 9:30 a.m.
Arrangements are handled by Nelson-Martin Funeral Service.
She is survived by daughter Velma Hoffmann of Sleepy Eye; sister Velma Long of Omaha, Nebr; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was born Sept. 17, 1904, in Breda, Iowa, to Clem and Clara (Sanders) Luchtel.

Marie Krueger, 84, of Winthrop, died Thursday, March 11, 2004, at Ridgeview Medical Center, in Waconia.
Funeral services are 3 p.m. Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church, in Winthrop. Burial will be in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, in Winthrop and continues one hour prior to the time of services, at the church, on Sunday
Arrangements are being handled by the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel, in Winthrop.
Marie is survived by her daughters, Karen Hardy of Maple Grove, and Carol Bergstrom of Maplewood; sons, Roger Krueger of Glencoe; David Krueger of Rapid City, S.D., and Dennis Krueger of Homestead, Iowa;12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother,Lewis Peetsch of Glencoe; and sisters, Marjorie Spoor of New Ulm, Evelyn Helmer of Dassel, Audrey Miller of Red Wing.
Marie (Peetsch) Krueger was born Sept. 13, 1919, in Danvers to Harry and Malinda (Shult) Peetsch.

Arlene Rengstorf, 81, of Judson died, Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nicollet, with Pastor Luke Myslik officiating. Interment will be in the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 4-7 p.m. at the Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor's choice.
Arlene was born April 19, 1922, to Herman William and Amanda Bertha (Lawrenz) Wendt in Redwood County, Minn. She graduated from Lamberton High School and went on to Lamberton Teachers Training and Mankato State University. She married Harvey E. Rengstorf on November 24, 1944, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Waterbury Township, rural Lamberton, Minnesota. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Nicollet and the Ladies Guild.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Richard "Dick" and Mary Rengstorf and Robert "Bob" and Linda Rengstorf, all of Judson; three grandchildren, April, Travis, and Megan; one brother, Pete Wendt of Lamberton; four sisters, Ruth Kersten of Springfield, Dorothy Coulter of Lamberton, Helen Fischer of Judson, Rosella Buddensiek and her husband, Mel of Mankato; a sister-in-law and her husband, Violet and Edwin Fischer of Judson; nephews, nieces, cousins, and her special friend, Niles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey in 1995 and several siblings.

Kenneth Lee, 88, of Redwood Falls, died Friday, March 12, 2004 at the Sunwood Center in Redwood Falls.
Services are 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2004 at Solem Cemetery in Solem Township. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Monday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls.
He is survived by a sister, Inez Holritz of Minneapolis.
He was born March 14, 1915 in rural Kensington to Edward and Maudie (Olson) Lee.
