Myrtle Zemple, 90, of Morgan, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at Immanuall-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at St. John Lutheran Church in Morgan, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Eden Township.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Morgan and continues one hour before services Thursday at the church.
She is survived by children, Leonard Zemple of Morgan, Donald Zemple of Morgan, Darlene Menz of Redwood Falls, Ginny Zempel of Morgan, Lester Zemple of Morgan; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Beilke of Morgan, Lorraine Ziegenhagen of Hutchinson; and brother, William Beilke of Morgan.
She was born Nov. 8, 1913, to William and Olga Beilke.

John Rubischko, 91, formerly of Gibbon died Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2004 at the St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon with burial in the St. Willibrord's Catholic Cemetery in Gibbon.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and from 7:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon. The St. Willibrord's Catholic Aid Council will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m. and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. both Sunday at the funeral home.
John is survived by his wife, Marcella Rubischko of the Countryview Estates in Fairfax; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Lyle Rettmann of Brownton; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Pat Rubischko of Denver, Colorado, David and Wendy Rubischko of St. Peter, and Jerome Rubischko of rural Gibbon; grandchildren, Heather, Daniel, Craig, Michelle, Stacey, Caroline, Jeremy, Mark, and Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Erik, Katie, Ryan, Matthew, Justin, Rachel, Sean, Shannon, Caden, and Nolan; a brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Pat Rubischko of New Ulm; a brother-in-law, George Merkel of Fairfax; and a sister-in-law, Marie Rubischko of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Martin, Joseph, Frank, and Anthony Rubischko; sisters, Ellnora Boehm, Mary Liebl, Ann Weber, and Julia Merkel.
John was born on June 16, 1912 in rural Fairfax to John and Mary (Ruso) Rubischko. He attended St. Andrew's Catholic School in Fairfax. On June 14, 1939, he married Marcella Schreiner at the St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon. He farmed in the Gibbon area until retirement in 1974. He loved his farm and fishing. He was a member of the St. Willibrord's Catholic Church and the St. Willibrord's Catholic Aid Council.

Lucille 'Lucy' Simon, 71, of 418 N. Jefferson St., in New Ulm, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2004, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Sunday, and from 7:30-10 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Christian Mothers will pray the rosary at 4 p.m., Sunday, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. There will be a rosary by the St. Mary's Catholic Aid at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. both Sunday at the funeral home.
Lucy is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Mary and Raymond Lange of Morgan, Barbara Becker of New Ulm; sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Pamela Simon of Redwood Falls, Pat Simon of New Ulm; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Wesley Simon on June 12, 2003.
Lucille Helen Goblirsch was born on October 6, 1932, in New Ulm to Otto and Barbara (Fleck) Goblirsch. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1951. She married Wesley Simon on August 5, 1952, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage they farmed in Cottonwood Township, Brown County, until 1967 when they moved to New Ulm. She had worked at the Brown County Fair for fifteen years. She enjoyed playing cards, canning, embroidery and old time music. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, the St. Mary's Catholic Aid Council, and the Christian Mothers Society.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to donor's choice.

Roger E. Zobel, 62, of Faribault, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at District One Hospital, Faribault.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, at Sacred Heart, Faribault. Interment will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be Monday, April 12, 2004 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, and also at the church for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Roger, the son of Howard and Dolores (Konz) Zobel was born December 16, 1941 in New Ulm. He graduated from New Ulm High School. On November 12, 1966, he was married to Helen Johnson at New Ulm. Roger worked in construction for years and was later employed by the Faribo Woolen Mills for 23 years.
Roger is survived by his wife, Helen, of Faribault; two sons, Clinton Zobel, and Anthony "Tony" (and Deb) Zobel all of Faribault; two daughters, Dawn (and Dean) Wolesky of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Misty (and Jeremy) Phelps of Faribault; five grandchildren, David Roger Phelps and Kelly Phelps of Faribault, Staci, Chris and Nick Roger Wolesky of Lake Havasu City, AZ; a brother, Howard (and Rosemary) Zobel, Jr. of New Ulm, and sisters, Ronda (and Gerald) Hatfield Sr. of Ceylon and Rhona Wallert of Fairmont, a half-brother, James Zobel of Eden Prairie; and brothers-in-law, Ernest (and Sharon) Johnson of Nicollet and Charles (and Theresa) Johnson of Morristown, and many nieces, nephews, aunts and an uncle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Bill and Martha Zobel and Peter and Anna Konz.

Robert Stadem, 62, of Plato, formerly of Chaska, died April 6, 2004, after a 3-1/2 month battle with cancer. Survived by wife, Vonnie; daughters, Kim Hague, and special friend, Mark Kral, of Lafayette, Tammy Adams, and special friend, Rob Sorensen, of Waconia; grandchildren, Kristi, Kory, Kyle, and Kassi Hague; brothers, Dean (Cindy), of Apple Valley, Steve (Teresa), of Eden Prairie, Mark (Patty), of Bloomington; sisters, Maxine (Vern)
Whittenberg, of Gonvick, Ali (Bob) Olson, of Fargo, Carol (Sid) Haug, of Mpls, Mary (Tom) Stark, of Farmington, Sara (Jim) Heim, of St. Cloud; best friends, Dean Adams, and Rick Leuthner; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 218 W. 2nd St., Chaska. Visitation Sunday 4-8 p.m. at the Bertas Funeral Home, 200 W. 3rd St., Chaska, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial at Guardian Angels Catholic Cemetery, Chaska.

Arnold E. Olsen, 84 of Lake Benton died April 8 at his home in Lake Benton.
Funeral Services: Monday 11:00 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church in Tyler.
Visitation: Sunday 5-8 p.m. at the Tyler Area Funeral Home in Tyler and will continue on Monday 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Burial in Danebod Cemetery.
Arnold Elvin Olsen was born July 1, 1919 in Iona, Minnesota to Ole and Martha (Petersen) Olsen. He was baptized in the Lutheran Faith in Iona and confirmed in Lake Wilson. Arnold grew up around the Iona-Lake Wilson-Woodstock area, attending country school near Iona. He later attended Agricultural School in Russell. He then helped his father with the farming. On April 28, 1941, Arnold entered the United States Army, serving four years and five months of active duty in Omaha, Nebraska, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Fort Leonardwood, MO, Camp Bowie, TX, Camp Edwards, MA. He was shipped overseas on August 6, 1942, serving in Ireland, England, North Africa, Sicily, and Naples, Italy. He arrived in the U.S. at Patrick Henry, Virginia. Then went to Hot Springs, Arkansas, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and was discharged in 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin with an honorable discharge, with a rank as T4 Sergeant.
On July 8th, 1946, he married Lorraine Pfarr, in New Ulm, Minnesota. After farming in the Tyler-Lake Benton area, they made their home 4 miles west of Tyler in 1952, where they have lived since.
Arnold was a lifetime member of the V.F.W., and a lifetime member of First English Lutheran Church in Tyler. Not only did he enjoy farming, he enjoyed playing music. In the late 1950's he started his 1st band with his brother, Kermit, "The Olsen Brothers". He played button accordian, concertina, and drums, with several other bands, retiring at the age of 79. After Arnold retired from farming, he still helped his son Larry, farm until his death. His hobbies were many, including playing cards, dancing, gardening, camping, train sets, giving his grandchildren rides on his John Deere Gator. He could make something new out of anything, enjoyed fixing old tractors and cars, visiting friends and family. He loved to fix, fix, fix and remodel, and was always doing things for his children and grandchildren.
Arnold Elvin Olsen passed away on April 8, 2004 at his home in Lake Benton Township, Lincoln County, Minnesota at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 7 days.
Survivors: wife Lorraine of 57 years of Lake Benton, daughters: Carol (Marv) Nissel of New Ulm, Doreen (Leon) Krog of Lake Benton, Lisa (Phil) Myhrberg of Marshall; sons: Leon (Ann) Olsen of New Ulm, Larry (Brenda) Olsen of Lake Benton; 10 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 3 great greadchildren and 2 step great grandchildren; 2 sisters Elsie Schwartz of Slayton and Viola Budnick of Tyler, many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Melvin, Olaf and Kermit, sisters Othilda Stevens and Minnie Fisher.

Inez Gerasch, 78, of New Ulm died Sunday, April 4, 2004 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 - 11:00 a.m.Wednesday, April 14 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home of New Ulm is in charge of the arrangements.
Inez is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Lucinda and Dr. Ennio Cipani of Vasalia, California, Mari Beth and Tony Loftis of Menomonie, Wisconsin; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Loretta Gerasch of New Ulm; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Lucy and Fred De Rose of Sacramento, California; and a brother, Anthony "Tony" Just of New Brighton. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ralph Gerasch on October 11, 2003.
Inez Vera Just was born on March 18, 1926 in New Ulm to Anton and Erna (Borchert) Just. She married Ralph Gerasch on July 8, 1947 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. She taught as a Catholic School teacher for 30 years. She enjoyed gardening, reading and being a member of a Bridge Club. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm and had been a member of the Brown County Humane Society.

James Florian Hillesheim, 83,of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at his home in Sleepy Eye, MN.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 12, 2004 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, MN. There will be a KC Rosary on Monday at 5:00 PM and a Parish Prayer Service on Monday at 6:00 PM at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
Service will be held at Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at 11:00 AM. The Clergy will be Father Todd Petersen. Interment will be at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs Cemetery in Leavenworth. Military rites performed by the Sleepy Eye Honor Guard. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, MN.
James Florian Hillesheim was born on May 14, 1920 in Mulligan Township, Brown County, MN, the son of John H. and Bertha (Sellner) Hillesheim. James attended country school, District # 70 in Mulligan Township. He farmed with his father until attending vocational school in Kansas City, MO. Upon graduation he was employed with the Bel Air for two years in Buffalo, NY then an additional two years in Niagara Falls, NY as a supervisor in assembling airplanes. He was drafted out of Bel Air into the Army Air Corps and served stateside for two years during WWII. James resumed farming with his father at the homestead in Mulligan Township upon his honorable discharge from the service. James married Rosella Theresa Schroepfer on November 21, 1950 at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth, MN. After marriage they resided and worked on the farm with his father. James and Rosella moved to Sleepy Eye upon retirement in the fall of 1986. James was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, the Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Aid Society of Leavenworth. James enjoyed working in the shop, building, country music, storytelling, and spending time her loved ones; both family and friends.
James was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at the age of 83 years. He died peacefully in his home due to complications of bone cancer.
He is survived by his wife Rosella Theresa (Schroepfer) Hillesheim; children - Beverly and husband Steve Soukup of New Ulm, James H. and wife Cindy Hillesheim of Springfield, John and wife Lorraine Hillesheim of Sleepy Eye, and Christina and husband Chris Hopp of New Ulm; 3 step daughters - Bernetta and husband Ronald Helget of Comfrey, Carol and husband Pat Wurtzberger of Sleepy Eye, and Diane and husband Elroy (Si) Seifert of New Ulm; 22 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters - Helen Helget of Sleepy Eye and Florence Seidl of Faribault. James was preceded in death by his parents; his brother - Edmund Hillesheim; and his sisters - Agnes Treml and Marie Mathiowetz.

Agnes 'Aggie' Vetter, 77, of New Ulm died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at the Cathedral of The Holy Trinity with Father John A. Richter celebrating. Burial will be in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. and the St. Elizabeth Catholic Aid Council will pray the rosary at 7:30 p.m. both Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
Aggie is survived by her sister, Marie Hoffmann of New Ulm; sixteen nieces and nephews; and by many great and great great nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Wilbert Baumann of Sleepy Eye, and Vernon Mohr of Searles. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna Mohr, Rose Baumann, Lucy and Ralph Baumann, twin sister, Helen and her husband, Floyd Saffert; and by a nephew, Robert Hoffmann.
On July 24, 1926, Aggie, the youngest daughter of six, was born to Bernard and Emma (Matsch) Vetter in West Newton Township, Nicollet County. She attended St. George School and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1944. In 1946, she moved with her family to New Ulm. She was employed at the New Ulm Rural Telephone Company for 38 years retiring in 1989. Her interests included her family, travel, card clubs, and bowling.

Dianne Embacher, 64 of Brigham City, Utah, (formerly of New Ulm) died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004 at the University Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
A Memorial Service will be held April 18, 2004, 2 p.m. at Christ the King Church, 1515 No. Garden, New Ulm. A light lunch will follow.
Survivors include her husband, Bill, children Twain (Donna) Tipton, Peter's Creek, Alaska, Kim (Jeff) Scholtec, Plain City, Utah, and Shane Tipton, Anchorage, Alaska; Kim Embacher, Carrie (Dave) Forstner, Brenda (John) Nosbush, all of New Ulm; Chris (April) Embacher, Lake Crystal; Lee Embacher, St. Cloud; three sisters Jo Elijah and Janice Kretsch of New Ulm; Rosie Gilbert, and one brother LaRay Ries of Lisbon, ND.

Leonard Neidecker, 86, of Sleepy Eye, died on Saturday, April 10, 2004 at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye, surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday April 14, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
There will be a Parish Prayer Service on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at 10:30 a.m.. The Clergy will be Fr. Brian Oestreich. Interment St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Military rites performed by the Sleepy Eye Honor Guard.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
Leonard Edward Neidecker was born on June 3, 1917, to Albert and Elizabeth (Wurzberger) Neidecker. He lived with his parents on their farm in Albin Township, attended seven years of country school and one year at St. Mary's School in Sleepy Eye. He worked for different area farmers before joining the Army on March 3, 1941. He served overseas in the European Theater with Troup B 89th Division during World War II, receiving many medals of recognition. Following his honorable discharge on October 25, 1945, Leonard returned to Sleepy Eye. On June 14, 1950, he married Martha Lamecker, daughter of Alois and Annie (Portner) Lamecker, at Holy Trinity Cathedral in New Ulm, MN. He worked at Sleepy Eye Tile Yard, Sleepy Eye Grain Elevator, and Cargill Elevator until his retirement. Throughout his life he was involved with farming. Leonard was a member of St. Mary's Church, a lifetime member of the VFW, and the Sleepy Eye Senior Citizens Club. He enjoyed his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He liked playing cards, listening to old time music, dancing, watching Twins baseball games, playing with kids, and visiting with friends.
Leonard is survived by: wife Martha; daughter Marsha and husband Donald Zemler of Sauk Centre, MN; granddaughter Marie Zemler Wu and husband Sherman of Baltimore, MD; grandsons Matt of St. Cloud, MN and David of Minneapolis, MN; sister Madeline Evers of Bingham Lake, MN; sister-in-law Marie Reinhart of New Ulm, MN; brother-in-law Otto Lamecker, Sr. and wife Dolores of Lake Lillian, MN; sister-in-law Rose Hamann and husband Delton of Lafayette, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; children Richard and Trisha; sister Marcella and husband Lester Weller, Sr.; and brother-in-laws LeRoy Reinhart and Ted "Jockey" Evers.
