Rose Mary (Sperl) Gulbrandson, 91, of Sleepy Eye, died on Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Sleepy Eye Hospital.
Visitation will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye on Thursday, April 22, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye on Thursday, April 22, at 11 a.m. The clergy will be Father Brian W. Oestreich. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
Rose Mary Gulbrandson was born Nov. 2, 1912, in Albin Township, Brown County, the daughter of Andrew P. and Catherine (Schieffert) Sperl. She attended District No. 28 in Albin Township. Rose worked as a nanny in West St. Paul for several years. On March 1, 1941, she married Omer Gulbrandson in St. Paul Park. The couple lived in Hanska and in 1945 Omer died. In 1947 she moved to Searles. In 1955 Rose moved to Sleepy Eye where Rose worked at the Family Cafe. In 1965 she moved to New Ulm where she worked at Madsen Bakery. Rose retired in May of 1975. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, watching the Minnesota Twins, crossword puzzles, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, James and wife Connie Gulbrandson of New Ulm, Carol and husband Don Fischer of Maple Grove, and Florence and husband Ron Matzen of Brainerd; grandchildren, Paul Matzen and fiance Kathy Lubbers, Jon and wife Jennifer Matzen, Eric and wife Jennifer Gulbrandson, Derek and wife Carrie Fischer, and Holly Fischer; seven great-grandchildren and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Hugo, Andrew, John, Ben, Bill, Leo, Carl, and Leonard; and sisters, Florence Sperl, Lillian Strate and Elizabeth Bjorneberg.

Dennis A. Brudelie, 63, of Orefield, Pa., died Monday, April 19, 2004, at his home.
He is survived by wife Nancy; son, Jay; daughter, Jana Brown, both of Allentown; brothers, Alan, Norman, Richard, and Paul of Minnesota; and two grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m., May 8, at the Unitarian Universalists Church of the Lehigh Valley, Bethlehem.
Arrangements are D.J. Boyko Funeral Home.
He was born in Sleepy Eye, Minn., to Olive (Odegard) Hoffman and the late Alvin Brudelie.

Erwin 'Pete' Buckentine, 73, of rural Green Isle, died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 24, at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington. Burial with military honors will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, from 4-8 p.m. at Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and Saturday, one hour prior to service at the church.
He is survived by his wife, LaVonne of rural Green Isle; children, Julie Nielsen of St. Paul, Nancy Leclerc of Dallas, Texas, Pete Buckentine of Glencoe, Renee Lomman of Alexandria and Karen Rezek of Island of Cypress; nine grandchildren; and sister, Marlys O'Brien of Bloomington.
Erwin was born on Sept. 15, 1930, on the family farm in Green Isle Township, Sibley County, Minn., to William and Malinda (Rolf) Buckentine.

Gretchen Marie Drugan, 2, of New Ulm died Tuesday, April 20, 2004.
Gretchen is the daughter of Dan and Peggy (Pfau) Drugan of New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 24, at the Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 - 8 p.m., Friday, and will continue from 7:30 until 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and then for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday.
Gretchen is survived by her parents, Dan and Peggy (Pfau) Drugan of New Ulm; a sister, Kjerstin Drugan of New Ulm; grandparents, John and Delores Pfau of Mankato and Jan and Manny Drugan of Valley City, North Dakota; great-grandmothers, Gladys Everson of Alamagordo, New Mexico and Nora Marcks of Valley City, North Dakota; and by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Gretchen Marie Drugan, the infant daughter of Dan and Peggy Drugan was born on January 17, 2002, in New Ulm. Gretchen enjoyed spending time with her sister, Kjerstin, doing everything that she did. She loved playing with her cousins and neighbor girls, taking stroller rides with her family, playing hide and seek, watching Barney and Dora the Explorer. She was a good mommy to her dolls. She loved being outside, sitting on the steps eating red, white, and blue popsicles, and chasing after the birdies. She was a true "Daddy's Girl" and enjoyed having bedtime stories read to her. She created beautiful artwork that her family treasured. Gretchen was truly a gift, an angel from God and she brought joy to everyone who knew her. Jesus called her home to heaven, from her mother's arms, this past Tuesday.

LeRoy H. Neuman, 77, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at his home in Sleepy Eye.
Funeral services are Saturday, April 24 at Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye at 1:30 p.m. with burial at Home Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, and continues Saturday for one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by wife, Dorothy of Sleepy Eye; sons, Stephen Neuman of Naples, Fla., David Neuman of Randolph, Minn., Robert Neuman of Cannon Falls, Minn.; daughter, Marcia Jo Marti of Sleepy Eye; nine grandchildren; sister, LeNora Roundsley of Arden Hills, Minn.;
LeRoy Herbert Neuman was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Clear Lake, S.D., to Franklin and Johanna (Olson) Neuman.

Elizabeth A. Ter Louw, 92, of Pella, Iowa, passed away Monday, April 19, 2004, at the Hospice Comfort House in Pella.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 22, at the Trinity Reformed Church in Pella, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Words Of Hope, Trinity Reformed Church, Hospice Comfort House in Pella, Iowa or a memorial of your choice.
Elizabeth Alice Boot, daughter of William B. and Alice (Rietveld) Boot, was born February 1, 1912, near Sully, Iowa. She passed away Monday, April 19, 2004, at the age of ninety-two years, two months, eighteen days.
On February 22, 1933, she was united in marriage with Simon G. Ter Louw. They farmed in the Sandridge neighborhood for thirty years. To this union two daughters were born, Joanne and Alice.
She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Joanne and Dean Risius of New Ulm, Minnesota, and Alice and Carroll Rempe of Mooresville, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Terri Risius, Kristi Besse and her husband Robert, Michelle Johnson and her husband Kenneth, and Michael Rempe and his wife Karen; five great-grandchildren, Meghan, Jeremy and Duane Besse, and Daniel and Eric Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Suzie Boot of Pella and Rosa Ter Louw of Grand Junction, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, John, Dick, Armour, and Clarence Boot; and one sister, Helena Van Gorp.

Cleopha Weiss, 89, of Sleepy Eye, died on Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye.
Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 P.M. and on Friday from 7:30-10 a.m. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye on Friday, April 23, at 11:00 a.m. The Clergy will be Fr. Brian Oestreich Interment St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery
Cleopha was born on April 9, 1915 in Bashaw Township, Brown County, Minn., the daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Kreitinger) Lang. She grew up and attend school in Sleepy Eye. Cleopha married Roman Weiss on October 26, 1936 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Comfrey. The couple made their home in Sleepy Eye until October of 1973 when they moved to Paynesville on Lake Koronis. Cleopha and Roman returned to Sleepy Eye in 1989. Roman died on December 11, 1998. Cleopha lived at Countryside Apartments for seven years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a past member of Divine Providence Auxiliary and the CCW. She loved flowers, gardening and fishing.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jerry and Marge Weiss of Sleepy Eye, Alice and Bill Rothfork of Melrose, Carol and Tom Vogl of Monticello, Bob and Rita Weiss of Sleepy Eye, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and sisters, Leona Meidl of Divine Providence Home in Sleepy Eye and Margaret Zenk of Olivia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roman, four brothers and three sisters.

Rose Mary Sadler, 68, of Rochester, died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at her home.
Services were held Wednesday, April 21, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester.
She is survived by husand, Jim; father, Leo Jandl; children, Daniel, Robert, Paul, and Anita Sadler; two grandchildren; brothers, George Jandl, Jerome Jandl; sisters, Cathy Bianchi, Ginger Rogness, and Jacquelyn Marketon.
She was born Sept. 9, 1935, in Fairfax.

Lena Tessmer, 98,,of Bloomington, formerly of Sleepy Eye, died on Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at Presbyterian Health Care Center in Bloomington,
Funeral service is 11 a.m., Saturday, April 24, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m., Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
She is survied by children, Lucille Clements of Panama City, Fla., and Gloria Fearing of Rosemount, Minn.; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Ann Bertrand of Sleepy Eye.
Lena was born on June 13, 1905, in Sleepy Eye, Minn., to Ernest and Anna (Muske) Hoppe.

Louis J. 'Louie' Lindmeyer Sr., 77, of 2201 North Broadway in New Ulm died Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at the Mankato House Health Care Center in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2004 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Father Edward Ardolf will be the celebrant. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm Veterans Organizations.
Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 - 10 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
Louie is survived by his wife, Lydia Lindmeyer of New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Jerry Portner of Eden Prairie; sons and daughters-in-law, Louis and LuAnn Lindmeyer of New Ulm, Keith and Pam Lindmeyer of Cloquet; step-children, James and Irene Zupfer of New Ulm, Cathy and Bruce Wlaschin of Inver Grove Heights; fifteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and Harley Schnobrich of Searles, Bernice and John Callquist of Mankato; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Betty Lindmeyer of New Ulm. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Doris Clyne Lindmeyer on September 27, 1982; a sister, Esther Graham; and by brothers, Elmer and Larry Lindmeyer.
Louie was born August 4, 1926 in New Ulm to Frank "Swift" and Sophie (Brey) Lindmeyer. He served in the 477th Infantry in United States Army during WWII from 1944 to 1946. He married Doris Clyne on September 10, 1947 in New Ulm. Louie worked for the M & St. L Railroad for 10 years and in 1956 he owned and operated Louie's Tavern in New Ulm. Louie married Lydia Willard Zupfer on November 12, 1983 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. He then worked as an apartment maintenance man in Minneapolis and New Ulm until he retired in 1998. Louie was an avid sports fan.
He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, Seifert-Bianchi American Legion Post #132 in New Ulm and the German-Bohemian Heritage Society.
In lieu of flowers, the Lindmeyer family prefers memorials to the donors choice.

Shirley J. Steinbach, 71, of New Ulm died Thursday, April 22, 2004 at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with pastor Gary Grunske officiating. Burial will be in the Akeley Cemetery in Akeley, Minnesota.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Shirley is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Roxanne Ackerman and fiancé Steven Spofford both of Akeley; Dianne Domeier of Onalaska, WI, Susanne and Mark Wolf of Onalaska, WI, and Joanne Steinbach of New Ulm; a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Teresa Steinbach of St. Michael; grandchildren, Doug and Alicia Janni, Kaitlin and Kimberly Wolf, and Brandi and Amber Steinbach; and one expected great grandson; a sister, Gladys Emmeck of Wisconsin; a brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Karyn Stiffler of Akeley; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Yvonne Stiffler; and a brother, Chealas Stiffler.
Shirley was born on September 23, 1932 in Sauk Center to Harrison and Lillian (Benson) Stiffler. She attended and graduated from Akeley High School in 1950. On February 14, 1953, she married Donald Steinbach in New Ulm. Shirley worked for 3M for twenty six years until retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Prairie Peacemakers Quilt Club, the Solo Parents Club, a board member of 3M C.A.R.E.S, a turner lady, and a member of the Red Hats Club. Shirley enjoyed bowling, traveling, gardening, cooking, quilting, camping, antiquing, and being with her family and friends.
