Perry Roiger, 83, of Springfield, died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at Springfield Medical Center in Springfield.
Service is 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The Clergy will be Father Dennis Labat.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, and 7:30-10 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. Parish prayer service is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The men's rosary is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Condolences may be sent via e-mail to www.sturmfh.com.
Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
Perry Charles Roiger was born May 26, 1920, to William and Catherine (Kraus) Roiger in Stately Township, Brown County. Perry married Irene Stark on February 5, 1945, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. Irene died March 9, 1980. On November 7, 1982, he married Marie Fuchs at St. Raphael's Catholic Church.
Perry is survived by wife Marie; children, Diane Lang of Springfield, Phyllis (Lynn) Weber of Sanborn, Lenis (Roxanne) Roiger of Sanborn, Duane (Jan) Roiger of Springfield, Gary (Pat) Roiger of Sanborn, Alan (Paula) Roiger of Sanborn, Arland (Cher) Roiger of Springfield; stepson, Greg (Diane) Fuchs of Sleepy Eye; 27 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; sisters, Loretta Flor of St. John Home, Springfield, Mildred (Ben) Mathiowetz of Morgan, Adelia (Jim) Raydon of Hesperia, CA; and sister-in-law, Elsie Roiger of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Irene; brothers, Henry and Leo Roiger; son-in-law, Joseph S. Lang, Jr.; and two granddaughters.

Dorothy Frederickson, 79, of St. James and formerly of Hanska, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at the Sunrise Cottages of Rochester.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 28, at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Vedell officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Hanska.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Schmucker Funeral Service in Hanska and one hour prior to service at the church.
Dorothy Lorraine Paulson, the daughter of Ferdinand and Anna (Nundahl) Paulson was born November 3, 1924, in rural Hanska. After attending country school, she was united in marriage to Elroy Frederickson on February 9, 1946, in the parsonage of Lake Hanska Lutheran Church. Together they farmed in Lake Hanska Township until their retirement in 1982. Elroy died March 20, 1989. After his death, Dorothy continued to live on the farm until 1992 when she moved to an apartment in St. James. She became a resident of the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia for a short time and then the Good Samaritan Center in St. James in 1998. On May 20, she became a resident of the Sunrise Cottages of Rochester. Dorothy was a member of Lake Hanska Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her daughter, DeAnn Lenz and her husband Tony of St. James; grandchildren, Darcie and Megan Anderson of St. James; stepgrandchildren, Danielle and Anthony Lenz of St. James; brothers-in-law, Marlowe Frederickson of St. James, Alden Frederickson and his wife Maxine of Madelia, Donald Frederickson of LaSalle; sisters-in-law, Sonja Smesmo and her husband Arnie of Hanska, Marcella Oachs of Mankato, Virginia Nelson of Searles; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sisters, Ardis Amundson and Viola Armstrong; and brothers, Floyd, Clayton and Gaylord F. Paulson.

Harry Sifferath, 93, of Hector, died Monday, May 24, 2004, at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
Funeral service will be Friday, May 28, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brookfield Township with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Harry is survived by his wife Irma Sifferath, of Hector; children, Darris Sifferath of Hector, Eileen Schauman of New Ulm, Gayle Grimm of Buffalo Lake; and six grandchildren.
Harry Alvin Sifferath was born March 3, 1911, in rural Stewart, Minn., to Bernard and Ameba (Ebent) Sifferath.

Ursula Tremmel, 78, of Sibley, Iowa, died Monday, May 24, 2004 in New Ulm.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 27, at the Church of St. Andrew in Sibley. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Walton-Roste Funeral Home in Sibley with a rosary service at 5 p.m. and Parish wake service at 7 p.m.
She is survived by a daughter, Carla Keute of New Ulm.
The family requests donations be made to the Hospice of New Ulm or Sibley.

Kurt W. Troge loving husband, caring father, inspiring teacher, and most importantly, child of God, age 53, of 3726 Mackert Street, Manitowoc, WI, was called home on May 24, 2004, by his Heavenly Father to join all of the saints of Heaven to continue praising his Savior and Creator in a perfect place.
Visitation, will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2004, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Manitowoc Lutheran High School, 4045 Lancer Circle, Manitowoc, followed by the funeral service. Rev. David Beckman of Manitowoc Lutheran High School and Rev. Loren Lindeman of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where Kurt was a member, will officiate at this celebration of eternal life with burial to take place later at Evergreen Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are with the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
Kurt was born on September 20, 1950, in Appleton, Wis., son of Rev. Wilbur and the late Helen Brockdorf Troge. He graduated in 1969 from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton and spent his college years at Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm., Minn. graduating with a bachelor's degree in Education in 1973. On June 22, 1974, he married the former Debra Knief at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Watertown, Wis.
Kurt began his graduate work at Michigan State University-Lansing, continued at the University of North Florida-Jacksonville, and completed his master's degree in Secondary Education and Administration at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1986.
Kurt began his teaching ministry in the Wisconsin Ev. Lutheran Synod as a tutor at Michigan Lutheran Seminary, Saginaw, Mich., from 1973 to 1975. In 1975, Kurt was called to start Christ Lutheran Grade School in Jacksonville, Fla., serving as the principal and fifth- through eighth-grade teacher. In 1990, Kurt accepted a call to be the guidance counselor, teacher of history and economics, and to coach at Northland Lutheran High School in Merrill, Wis., From 1988 to 1996, Kurt served Minnesota Lutheran High School in New Ulm, as its assistant principal and teacher. In 1996, Kurt continued his teaching ministry at Manitowoc Lutheran High School as principal, where he served in that capacity until June 2002. He resumed teaching in the fall of 2003, after a year of medical leave due to brain cancer, and taught until January of 2004 when the tumor returned. Throughout his ministry, Kurt touched thousands of lives by his love for teaching, and most importantly, his love for his Savior.
Kurt was an exemplary husband and father. For 29 years, Kurt guided the Troge family by his living example. During annual family camping vacations, late night talks around the campfire, fishing and hunting trips, golfing, family game nights, and family devotions, Kurt showed his continual love, care, guidance, and concern for his wife and five children.
Survivors include his wife, Deb and their children: Alicia, at home; Ben (Katy) and their daughter Skyler, Altamonte Springs, FL; Ryan, Milwaukee, Wis.; Tricia, Winona, MN, and Caleb, at home.
Kurt is also survived by his father, Rev. Wilbur Troge, Appleton, WI; his brother Eric (Arlyss) Troge, Hortonville, Wis.; three sisters: Christine Gallipeau, Houston, Tx; Melissa (Howard) Estervig, Waterloo, WI; and Gretchen (Steve) Gallo, St. Peter, IL; his mother-in-law, Elaine Knief, Watertown, WI; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Sara (Art) Piper, DePere, Wis.; Enno Knief, Janesville, Wis.; and Kim (Jim) Winters, Watertown, WI. Nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Troge; his father-in-law, Enno Knief, and his brother-in-law, Christopher Knief.
Kurt left a Christian legacy of leadership in every place and heart he touched. With God at his side, he faced every challenge, including the cancer that claimed his life after nearly two years. May God give each Christian the faith and trust and belief that our times are in His hands and that our lives are not ended on earth, but continued endlessly in Heaven,
The family sincerely thanks countless Christian friends for their continual prayers and acts of love and caring, including the employees and volunteers of the Holy Family Memorial Hospice. They thank God for His benevolent kindness to Kurt Troge on earth, allowing this Christian man to grow in faith and to show God's grace in his life. Blessed are those who die in the Lord.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated for the Manitowoc Lutheran High School Building Fund.

Irene Ubl, 89, formerly of New Ulm, died Monday, May 24, 2004, at the St. John's Lutheran Home in Albert Lea.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Thursday, May 27, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 7:30 -10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Irene is survived by her husband, Joseph H. Ubl a resident of the St. John's Lutheran Home in Albert Lea; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and David Simpson of Albert Lea; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Maggie Ubl of Columbia, Missouri, Joseph and Kathryn Ubl of Albert Lea; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eugenia Drexler; a brother, Walter Reinhart; and a son-in-law, James McCrea.
Irene Josephine Reinhart was born on May 4, 1915, in Cottonwood Township, Brown County, to Louis and Theresia (Dauer) Reinhart. On May 17, 1938, she married Joseph H. Ubl at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles. After marriage they lived in New Ulm. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.

Linda L. Munson, 27, of Mankato, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004 in Mankato.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Schmucker Funeral Service, Hanska.
A private family committal service will be held in the LaSalle Lutheran Cemetery.
She is survived by her parents, George and Judy Munson of Hanska.
She was born Feb. 23, 1977 in New Ulm to George and Judy Munson.
Memorials are preferred to the Mankato Ballet Company or School Sisters of Notre Dame Retirement Home.

Mae Jane (White) Peterson, 94,of Lamberton, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 29, at Church Of Christ in Lamberton with burial in the Russell Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Friday and 7:38:30 a.m., Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton.
She is survived by sons, Harold Peterson of Lynd, and Donald Peterson of Vernon Center; daughter, Lucille Clifton of Mobile, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Harvey White of Park Rapids; and sisters, Mary Ann Lukkomen of LaPorte and Nina Bentley of Washington.
Mae J. Peterson was born May 12, 1910 to Harvey and Mathilda (Marx) White in Avoca, MN.

Sylvia 'Syl' Hopkins, 83, of New Ulm died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 1 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Monday and 7:30 - 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Sylvia is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Gerald Marti of New Ulm, Marcia and Scott Horner of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Janette Lanehart and her husband, Michael of Gibbon, Nancy Marti and her fiancé, Daniel Diefenderfer both of Nicollet, Michael Marti and his wife, Jessica of New Ulm, Melissa Salaam and her husband, Hakim, Jennifer Hoffhein and her husband, William, and Bria Horner all of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Marti, Hannah Hoffhein, and Jaida Salaam; and her sisters, Dolores Schaefer of New Ulm and Lois Lynch of Belle Plaine. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gail W. Hopkins on May 12, 1963; a sister, Evelyn Domeier in infancy; and a great granddaughter, Taylor Salaam in infancy.
Sylvia Veronica Domeier was born on March 1, 1921 in New Ulm to Peter J. and Barbara R. (Willinger) Domeier. On November 2, 1944 she married Gail W. Hopkins in Washington, D.C. She had worked for the FBI in Washington D.C. from 1941 - 1945 and then worked as co-manager with her husband at the G.F. Wacker Variety Store in Coalgate, Oklahoma from 1945 - 1951. Later she worked as Assistant City Assessor in New Ulm and also had worked at the New Ulm Telephone Company. From 1971 - 2002 she was the owner and operator of the New Ulm Corny Wagon in New Ulm and was well known as the "Popcorn Lady." She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.

Sidney V. Johnson, 78, of Springfield, died on Thursday, May 27, 2004 in Springfield.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church in Springfield, with burial in Cambridge, Wis.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield and 10-11 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife Carol Johnson of Springfield, daughter Sharon Johnson of Eagan, sons, Chuck of Sherburn, David of Anchorage, Alaska, and Rich of Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren; and sister, Nadine Empie of Lakeland, Fla.
He was born on Nov. 10, 1925, in Rockdale, Wis., to Sidney and Mildred (Venaas) Johnson. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served three years in the South Pacific as a crew member of a B-24.
