Robert Laatsch, 86, of Jefferson, Wis., died May 31, 2004, at Countryside Nursing Home.
Services are 10 a.m., Friday June 4, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Friend may call from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson, and one hour before services Friday at the church.
He was born on August 31, 1917, on the home farm in Jefferson, to Herman and Lena (Rufenacht) Laatsch.
He married Herta Grunewald on October 12, 1941, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshall.
Bob farmed on the family farm.
He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1934.
He was a member of the Jefferson Boosters 4-H and a 4-H leader. He served on the Jefferson School Board. He was past president and one of the founders of the Jefferson Historical Society. He was a charter member of the Cast Iron Implement Seat Collectors Association.
He is survived by his wife Herta; daughters; Mary (Lynn) Richter of New Ulm, Minn., Carole (Donald) Story of San Dimas, Calif.; Susan (Mark) Anderson of Merrimac. Wis.; sons; John (Cheryl) of Jefferson Thomas (Jana) of Pekin, Ill., David (Kathy) of Beaver Dam, Wis., Daniel (Pamela of Windsor Wis.; grandchildren; Janet Laatsch of Burlington, Angela Richter of Chaska. Sharon Laatsch of Janesville, Jennifer Laatsch of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Diane (Jon) Erdman of Mableton Georgia, Jason Story of California; Alisa (Ben) Brengman of Carver., Minn., Paul Laatsch Beaver Dam, and James Laatsch currently serving in the United States Army; great-granddaughter; Grace Erdman of Georgia; sister-in-law, Phyllis Martens of Stoughton; brother-in-law: Roger (jean) Grunewald of Marshall; any cousins, other relatives and friends
He is preceded by brother-in-law Lawrence Grunewald.
The family suggests memorial be directed to St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church or to the School

Clifford H. Senstad, father of Donna (Robert) French and grandfather of Michael (Tammy) French of New Ulm, Mark (Lorrie) French of Lancaster, Wis., and Lisa (Doug) Gaeddert of Elkhart, Ind., passed away on May 30, 2004, at the age of 98 at his home.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Myrtle; three daughters; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, and two sisters.
Clifford belonged to the Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Association Union for over 50 years.
Memorial service to be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Bloomington, MN, at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 4.

Willis 'Wimpy' Schwanke, 78, of New Auburn, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at the Glencoe Regional Health Center in Glencoe.
Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, June 5, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Auburn. Interment will be in High Island Cemetery in New Auburn.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m.Friday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday at Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the time of service at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Willis Schwanke was born on July 22, 1925 to William and Frieda (Zempel) Schwanke.
Willis is survived by his wife, Judy of New Auburn; children, Dennis Schwanke of Biscay, Gayle Schwarz of Glencoe, Brad Schwanke of Chandler, Ariz., Shawn Schwanke of Hutchinson, Corey Schwanke of New Auburn, and Kellie Jo Schwanke of San Antonio, Texas.

Marguerite 'Marge' Schumann, 88, of New Ulm died Thursday, June 3, 2004 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 7 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday and from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Monday.
Marge is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty Lou and Scott Nelson of New Ulm; son-in-law, Richard Drexler of New Ulm; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; and sisters and brother-in-law, Sally Smith of Newport, Barbara and John Dahedl of St. Paul. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Schumann; a daughter, Betty Drexler; a brother, William Grant; and a sister, Anna Rasmussen.
Marguerite H. Grant was born on August 21, 1915 in New Ulm to Martin and Anna (Bauer) Grant. She married Edward Schumann in St. Paul. After marriage they lived in Sleepy Eye and she worked at the McKnight Store in Sleepy Eye. They moved to New Ulm in 1979. She had worked at the Big Bear Store in New Ulm for 21 years and retired in 1990. She enjoyed sewing. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Fillmore E. Wilking, 82 of Kasota, died June 4, 2004 at St. Peter Community Health Care Center.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Burial with military honors will be in Kasota Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday two hours prior to services at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lucilla M. Lamecker, 86, of 320 South Highland Avenue in New Ulm died Friday, June 4, 2004 at the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Monday, June 7, 2004 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Father John A. Richter will officiate.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 PM Sunday and 7:30 - 10:30 AM Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Christian Mothers will pray the rosary at 4 PM Sunday at the Cathedral.
The St. Elizabeth's Catholic Aid Society will pray the rosary at 6 PM and there will be a parish prayer service at 7 PM both Sunday at the Funeral Home.
Lucilla is survived by her daughter, Kathy Lamecker of Neenah, Wisconsin; sisters, Oleda Lamecker of New Ulm and Hattie Lieb of Searles. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roman Lamecker on December 13, 2003; brothers, Conrad Hoffman Jr. and Oscar Hoffman; sister, Agatha Stadick; and by brothers-in-law, Stan Lamecker and Anton Lieb.
Lucilla Martha Hoffman was born October 30, 1917 in Cottonwood Township, Brown County to Conrad and Margaret (Tauer) Hoffman Sr. She married Roman Lamecker on June 2, 1943 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage they lived in New Ulm where she worked for Stork Brothers and then Kraft Foods. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Christian Mother's Society, St. Elizabeth' Catholic Aid Society and the Turner Ladies.
In lieu of flowers, the Lamecker family prefers memorials be given to the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.

Agatha M. Laudon, 94, of Northville, Mich., died on May 4, 2004, in Farmington Hills, Mich.
Memorial mass is at 10 a.m.. Wednesday, June 9, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm, with burial in New Ulm Cemetery
She was born on Dec. 3, 1909, in Arlington, to Charles B. and Genevieve (Haggenmiller) Reichert.

John William Diedenhofen, 95, formerly of New Ulm, died May 19, 2004, in Fountain Hills, Ariz.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 25, at Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his sons, John Diedenhofen of Reno, Nevada, and Thomas Diedenhofen of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church (13001 North Fountain Hills Blvd., Fountain Hills, AZ 85268), the Noon Kiwanis Club of Fountain Hills (P.O. Box 17831, Fountain Hills, AZ 85269) or the American Heart Association (2929 South 48th Street, Tempe, AZ 85282).

Robert Barker, 78, of La Crosse, Wis., and formerly of the Hanska, LaSalle area, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse.
Services are 11 a.m., Friday, June 11, at Olivet Lutheran Church with burial at Springdale Lutheran Cemetery in rural Sioux Falls, S.D.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Bentdahl; children, Geri Olson of Harrisburg, S.D., Loren Barker of Park Falls, Wis., Philip Barker of Cabot, Ark., Dennis Barker of St. Paul, Minn., Joanna of Kwajalane Island in the South Pacific; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, stepchildren Faith Turek of Kilkenny, Minn., and Daris of La Crosse, Wis.; and brother Wilbur of Bellevue, Wash.
He was a World War 11 veteran serving in the U.S. Navy Air Corps.
He was born on June 23, 1925, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Martha Ruzicka and Joseph Henry Barker.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

Herbert H. Engel, 91, of Arlington, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at Gaylord Lakeview Home.
Services are 10 a.m., Saturday, June 12, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Arlington. Burial will be in Arlington Public Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his children, Reanette of Arlington, Dean of Shakopee and Lindell DuHamel of Hutchinson; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters Lydia Lindemann of St. Peter and Agnes Kettner of Nicollet.
He was born Feb. 15, 1913, in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County, Minnesota to William and Martha (Bendix) Engel.

Lewis Wellner, 92, of Springfield, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 11, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield, with burial in the Springfield City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Thursday, and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, and continues one hour before services at the church.
He is survived by wife Wilma of Springfield; children, Janice Anderson of Springfield, Cheryl Smith of Shakopee, Richard of Lafayette, Ind.; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother Virgil Wellner of Springfield; sister Ellen Smith of Florida; stepchildren, Vance Kuritz of Oakdale, Keith Anderson of Gaylord, Rev. Nancy Anderson of Minneapolis, Marsha Berg of North Mankato, Jon Anderson of Springfield; 10 stepgrandchildren and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Lewis Otto Wellner was born February 10, 1912 in Stately Township, Brown County, the son of Otto and Mary (Pruhll) Wellner.

Robert Barker, 78, of La Crosse, Wis., died Monday, June 7, 2004 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse.
He was born on June 23, 1925, in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of the late Martha Ruzicka and Joseph Henry Barker.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, June Hanna, whom he married June 25, 1949; brother Roy Barker, and sister Gertrude Gilpen.
He was a World War 11 veteran serving in the U.S. Navy Air Corps. He graduated from Luther Theological Seminary, St. Paul, Minn., in 1957 and served as pastor to parishes in Montana, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and as a chaplain in Nebraska and Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

Flossie Guse, 82, of Mesa, and formerly of New Ulm, died Sunday, June 6, 2004, at the Banner Medical Center in Mesa.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, June 11, at the Schmucker Funeral Service Chapel in New Ulm with Rev. Todd Nelsen officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery,
Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Flossie Arlene Meidl, the daughter of Joseph and Susan (Schwing) Meidl was born February 24, 1922, in New Ulm. After graduating from New Ulm High School, she was united in marriage to Alfred Guse on September 19, 1942 in Mesa. Following her husband's discharge from the military, the couple made their home in New Ulm. They retired to Mesa in 1986.
Survivors include her husband, Alfred (Butch) of Mesa; and friend, Billie Landon of Mesa.
