Sylvia M. Wills, 70, of St. Peter died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services are 11 a.m., Thursday; June 17, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Burial will take place in Greenhill Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, at St. Peter Funeral Home, 906 N. Washington, and continues on Thursday one hour prior to services at church.
Surviving are her daughters, Jean Durheim of St. James, Jane George of St. Peter, Jody Zellmer of Mankato; son, Keith Wills of St. Peter; nine grandchildren; sisters; Lois Dauffenbach of Grants, NM, Ardis Wills of New Ulm; brothers; Myron Bruns of New Ulm; Richard Bruns of Sleepy Eye; Roger Bruns of Mankato; Gary Bruns of New Ulm and Tom Bruns of New Ulm;
Memorials are preferred to St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Immanuel St. Joseph Hospice, or donors choice.
Sylvia was born May 6, 1934, in New Ulm to Dietric 'Dick' and Stella (Plagge) Bruns.

Harriet Eleanor Hadley Bell, 84, of Mesa, Ariz., passed through the gates of Heaven on June 8, 2004.
She was born on January 23, 1920, to Albert and Christina Glaeser in Gibbon Minnesota. She married Gilman Elmer Hadley on April 8, 1946. They owned and operated Hadley's Plumbing & Heating in Fairfax, Minn., from 1959 to 1979.
She was preceded in death by Gil, two sisters and one brother.
After Gil's death, Harriet married R. Harold Bell on December 5, 1987.
Survivors include her husband Harold of Mesa, Ariz., son James Hadley and daughter-in-law Ranee of Apple Valley, Minn., daughter Barbara Permoda and son-in-law Ed of Phoenix, AZ, step-daughter Carolyn Bell of Vancouver, CN; three grandchildren, Sonn Rowell (Matt), Matthew Boudinot (Jami), and Mark Hadley, and three great-grandchildren; Orrion, Lara, and Ashur Boudinot.
A Memorial Service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Fairfax, Minn., on July 29, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Hadley family plot in Fort Ridgely State Park.
Memorials may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church Library Fund, 406 SE 1st Street, Fairfax, MN 55332.

Graves, Anthony Pablo, 22,Jazz Pianist Extraordinaire
Died on June 15, 2004, from complications of brain disease. Tony grew up in New Ulm and graduated from PCAE in '00. He played with Dean Brewington Quartet & Ahmed and the Creators.
Survived by parents, Dick and Mary Graves; siblings. Emily, Ellie and Andy Graves; others include Joan Wiger, Mark, Brenda, Jon and Jessica Wiger, Janice and Roger Pieske, Greg Pieske and Paula Amborn.
Service and Celebration Friday at 7 p.m. at GRACE UNIVERSITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 324 Harvard, Minneapolis.
Gathering Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at OUR SAVIOR'S LUTHERAN CHURCH in New Ulm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Lulu Guhlke, 73, of Sleepy Eye, died on Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, on Friday, June 18, 2004, from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Saturday June 19, 2004 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Service will be held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye on Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 3 p.m. The Clergy will be Pastor Timothy Grams. Interment is in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
Lulu was born on September 2, 1930, in Cottonwood County, the daughter of Martin Phillip and Marie Caroline (Weber) Kessler.
Lulu attended Zion Lutheran School for eight years and then graduated from Sanborn High School in 1948. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. After graduation she moved to Sleepy Eye and worked for Pietrus for five years. She married Arnold Guhlke on August 25, 1951 and the couple lived in Sleepy Eye. In 1958 they moved to a farm north of Sleepy Eye. While Lulu was on the farm she enjoyed raising her children and helping Arnold. She worked for AUI from 1970-1990 on a part-time basis. Arnold and Lulu retired from farming and moved in to Sleepy Eye in 2001. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. Lulu enjoyed working at church and was a member of the Ladies Aid serving as treasurer.
She also loved music, travel, playing cards and dominos, reading and shuffleboard while in Mesa, AZ. Arnold and Lulu have gone to Mesa since 1994.
She is survived by her children; Douglas and wife, Bonnie Guhlke of Sioux Falls, S.D., Greg and wife, Sandy Guhlke of North Mankato, Keith and wife, Jill Guhlke of Mankato, Julie Ibberson of Sleepy Eye; 8 grandchildren; Alan and Amanda Guhlke, Jacquelyn and Paul Ibberson, Elizabeth and Denise Guhlke and Macaulay and Madison Guhlke, brothers, Donald and wife, Dee Kessler of Nicollet, Dennis and wife, Rita Kessler of Granite Falls, Warren and wife, Jan Kessler of Grimes, Iowa, sister, Doris and husband, Rudy Vanden Broek of Middle Town, Calif. and Arizona friends and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Vernon Kessler and grandson, Matthew Guhlke.

Jordan Hillmann, 19, of Hector, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, in a head-on collision near Marshall.
Funeral service was Wednesday, June 16 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake, with burial in the church cemetery.
Hughes Funeral Home in Hector handled arrangements.
Jordan Christopher Hillmann was born July 3, 1984, in Olivia, Minn., the son of Garry and Barbara (Klause) Hillmann. Jordan grew up in the Hector- Buffalo Lake area, graduating with the Buffalo Lake-Hector High School Class of 2002. He had completed two years of college at Southwest Minnesota State University where he was studying business. While attending high school, Jordan worked at the Cenex Convenience Store in Hector. He was employed at ShopKo in Marshall while attending college.
Jordan is survived by his parents Garry and Barbara Hillmann of Hector; brothers Scott Hillmann and Dustin Hillmann of Hector; paternal grandparents Orlando and Marjorie Hillmann of Buffalo Lake; maternal grandparents Walter and Shirley Klause of Hector; aunts and uncles:
Sue and Bob Erickson of Olivia, Randall Hillmann of Stewart, Sharon Opatz and Jeff Armstrong of Hutchinson, Lynn Hillmann of Owatonna, Laura and Shawn Schoettmer of Hutchinson, Mike and Arlyce Klause of Willmar, Sandy and Jim Otto of Hutchinson, Deb and Pete Anderson of Clarkfield, Cindy Klause and Danny Gable of Hector, Cheryl and Dale Schmalz of Buffalo Lake, and Keith and Thea Klause of New Ulm; and by many cousins and friends.
Jordan was preceded in death by his uncles Glenn Hillmann and Bradley Hillmann.

James 'Romey' Johnson, 90, of Bloomington, MN, formerly of Sleepy Eye, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at N.C. Little Hospice in Edina, MN. He had fallen and fractured his hip on Thursday, June 10, 2004.
Visitation will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye on Saturday, June 19, 2004 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye on Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 11 a.m. The Clergy will be Fr. Brian Oestreich. Interment Prairieville Cemetery, rural Sleepy Eye
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, MN.
Romey was born on April 15, 1914 in Sleepy Eye, the son of Frank and Tracy Johnson. He graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School at the age of 16. He married Audrey Caven on October 14, 1940 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. The couple lived most of their married life in Sleepy Eye. After 44 years working at Del Monte, Romey retired in 1976. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and most of all being around his family.
Romey is survived by his children and their spouses, Judy and Gary Goblirsch of Bloomington, Jeff and Connie Johnson of Phoenix, AZ, Brad and Maria Johnson of Smyrna, TN, grandchildren, Tim Goblirsch, Stephanie and Rob Clarke, Kimberly and Michael Ramirez, Sheila and Eric Princl, Jazmin Johnson, James "JP" Johnson and Matthew Johnson, great-grandchildren, Bobby
Clarke, Dylan and Katelyn Princl, Mikayla Ramirez, brother, Jerry and wife Colleen Johnson of Bloomington, sister, Alice Rothmeier of Faribault and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey, his parents, sister Francis and husband Les Hansen, brother-in-law, Ed Rothmeier and twin great-grandchildren.

Mildred Otto, 82, of Gaylord died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Services are 2:30 p.m., Friday, June 18, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Gaylord with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to noon Friday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord and at the church Friday, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by sons, William of Gaylord and Duane of St. Peter; daughters, Diane Vinkemeier of Gaylord and Debora Wood of Victoria; and brothers, Waldo Bruss and LeRoy Bruss, both of Gaylord.
She was born June 4, 1922, to August E. and Christine (Schmidt) Bruss.

Sydney Schleuder, 78, of 212 S. Washington St., New Ulm, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at her home with her husband Jim by her side.
Private family services will be held with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Schmucker Funeral Service of New Ulm is handling the arrangements.
Sydney Schmucker, the daughter of Rudy A. and Lucy C. (Pfefferle) Schmucker, was born October 9, 1925, in New Ulm. She attended New Ulm schools, graduating from New Ulm High School in 1943. She married James "Poik" Schleuder May 6, 1946, in New Ulm. Syd worked with her father and brother at Schmucker Reliable Drug for many years. Having worked her adult life in the retail drugstore business, Syd retired after working several years for New Ulm Drug. Sydney was a member of the United States and Brown County Humane Societies.
Survivors include her husband James "Poik" Schleuder of New Ulm; daughters, Gayle Monson and her husband Dwayne of New Ulm, Jamie Hutchins and her husband David of Shorewood; grandsons, Kirk Monson of Brooklyn Center; Neal Monson of Park Rapids; one niece and five nephews. In addition to her parents, Syd was preceded in death by her brother Alan Schmucker and sister Lynn Fausett.
Memorials are preferred to the New Ulm Medical Center Hospice and the Brown County Humane Society.

Lloyd Warner, 85, passed away May 18, 2004, in Queensland Australia. Lloyd was married to Celestine, "Sally" Guggisberg formerly of the Gibbon area, at the Sydney Cathedral in 1946. Sally was the daughter of Bill and Rose Guggisberg of Winthrop. He was a Realtor in the Burleigh Heads area for many years.
He is survived by a daughter, Vicki and her husband Barry Delacour, sons Bill and his wife Frances, Bob, and his wife Cheryl, Lloyd Jr. and his wife Bonny; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, all of Australia; sisters-in-law Bernice Pfeiffer of Sleepy Eye, and Marion Wendland of New Ulm and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alex and Agnes Guggisberg of Gibbon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and his wife Sally of 56 years; sisters -in -law Gertie Donahue and Millie Woratschka, and brothers-in-laws Clarence and Leon Guggisberg.

Michael Haggenmiller, 45, of Arlington, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at his home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Friday and 9-10 a.m., Saturday at Kolden Funeral Home, Arlington.
He is survived by his mother, Edythe of Arlington.
He was born Feb. 28, 1959, in Arlington to Ambrose "Bud" and Edythe (Foltz) Haggenmiller. He served in U.S. Army from 1977-1981.

Vera Hanson, 83, of Houston, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Houston.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Rev. Louise Stromberg officiating. Burial will be in the Stone Church Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Hoff Funeral Homes ‹ Houston Chapel. The family prefers memorials to be directed to any one of Vera's many passions.
She was born on May 15, 1921, in Yucatan Township of Houston County, Minn. to Thorvald and Katie (Kittelson) Halvorson. Vera lived all of her life in the Houston area. She married Henry Hanson in LaCrescent, Minn., on September 15, 1945.
Vera was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston and many church groups there. She was a member of the Forget-me-not Garden Club, School volunteer for first and second grade, Senior Citizen volunteer, Valley View Nursing Home volunteer, Houston Hoedown committee member, Food Shelf volunteer, Nature Center volunteer, and was named the Houston County Senior Citizen of the Year in 2002.
Vera worked in LaCrescent, picking apples for the orchard, harvested turkeys on the Vince Poppe farm, cleaned houses, did janitorial work at the Houston Public Schools, worked at the Houston Security Bank, and retired from Rush Products in Rushford after working there for 17 years.
Vera had a very loving and warm personality. Her infectious smile and energy was felt by the entire community, and she took particular delight in her grandchildren.
Vera is survived by one daughter, Diane (Duane) Lambrecht of New Ulm.; two sons: Chuck (Rita) Hanson of Winona, and Tom (Colleen) Hanson of Gahanna, Ohio; and five grandchildren: Aaron, Katie, Molly, Matt and Ellie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother, Kenneth Halvorson.
