Steven P. Fick.

April 2, 1950 - May 28, 2000
There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 5, from the David - Donehower Chapel in Detroit Lakes for Steven P. Fick.
Steven Paul Fick, 50, died at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo on Sunday, May 28.
Steven Paul Fick, son of Arnold and Irene Olson Fick, was born April 2, 1950, in Fergus Falls.
He graduated from Parkers Prairie High School (Class of 1968) and worked in road construction for many years after graduating from high school. He had lived in Detroit Lakes for a number of years.
Surviving are his mother - Irene Fick, Sauk Centre; a brother - John (Carolyn) Fick, Rosemount, and two sisters - Janet Durbin, Sauk Centre, and Kim (Rollie) Bartell, Cold Spring. There are several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mr. Fick in death were his father and a brother (Bruce).
Visitation: One hour prior to service on Monday, June 5, at David - Donehower Chapel in Detroit Lakes.

Grant "Bud" Lewis

There will be a memorial service on Thursday, June 15, for Grant "Bud" Lewis.
Mr. Lewis, a Pelican Rapids resident, died at Mesa, Ariz., on Sunday, March 12.
The service will be at 2 p.m. at the Northwest Cemetery, located west of Pelican Rapids.

Theresa L. Bloom

Aug. 14, 1926 - June 1, 2000
Theresa L. Bloom, 73, Ponsford, died at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo on Thursday, June 1.
The funeral was at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 5, from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Red Lake.
The David - Donehower Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Theresa Lussier, daughter of Gilbert and Elizabeth Sayer Lussier, was born Aug. 14, 1926, in Red Lake.
She was raised and attended school at Red Lake and married Alvin Bloom there on Nov. 14, 1950. She worked as a cook at the Red Lake Hospital from 1952 - 63.
The Blooms moved to Ponsford in 1963, where she was a cook at the Pine Point School from 1963 - 83.
Surviving are her husband - Alvin, Ponsford; a son - Alvin (Renee) Jr., Ponsford; three daughters - Arlys Bloom and Alvina (Delmas) Fairbanks, both Ponsford, and Margaret Eischens, Park Rapids, and a brother - Albert Lussier, Red Lake. There are 17 grandchildren and 10 great - grandchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Bloom in death were a son (Terrance), two grandchildren, her parents, two sisters and six brothers.

Vincent P. Hull

Oct. 31, 1917 - June 1, 2000
Rites were at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 5, from St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Mahnomen for Vincent P. Hull.
Mr. Hull, 82, died at his home in Mahnomen on Thursday, June 1.
Fr. Rick Lambert officiated at the funeral, Lavon Slette was the organist and special music was by Mary Ann Brisbois (cantor) and Lynette Epp (violin solo).
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, with the Mattson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Serving as the pallbearers were Bob Johnson, Doug Kettner, Chris Zimmerman, Tony Ovaldson, Terry Hull and Steve Chilton.
The honorary pallbearers included members of Wild Rice Post No. 1226 of Veterans of Foreign Wars at Bejou and of Isaacson - Bjorge American Legion Post No. 31 at Mahnomen.
Vincent P. Hull, son of Henry and Anna Michaels Hull, was born at Ogema on Oct. 31, 1917.
He attended the Hart School near Mahnomen, helped on the family farm near Waubun and served with the U. S. Army during World War II (1942 - 46).
On July 7, 1945, Mr. Hull and Anne Chilton were married in Mahnomen.
Following his discharge from the armed forces, he returned to the farm and was in charge of its operation until 1967.
He then attended the Detroit Lakes Area Vocational Technical Institute, where he earned an agriculture degree, after which he managed Cenex fertilizer plants in Twin Valley, Lake Park, Roseau and Williams. The Hulls lived in those communities until he retired in 1981 and they then moved to Mahnomen.
Mr. Hull belonged to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Beaulieu, the Knights of Columbus, Isaacson - Bjorge American Legion Post No. 31 and Wild Rice Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1226.
Surviving are his wife - Anne; a son - Gary (Kathy Senti), Williams; four daughters - Marilyn (Bill) Bushcette, Duluth; Judith (Jack) O’Malley, Grand Junction, Colo.; LuAnn (Jim) Parker, Edmonton, Alta., Canada, and Valerie (Donald) Radtke, Lengby, and two sisters - Hazel Hart and Isabel Gilbertson, both Mahnomen. There are 13 grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.
Preceding Mr. Hull in death were his parents, two daughters (Melinda and Kathleen), three brothers (Wilfred, Ray and Harold), a sister (Marie) and a granddaughter.

Gladys M. Holt

Gladys M. Holt, 82, Detroit Lakes, died at St. Mary’s Regional Health Center on Sunday, June 4.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, from The Congregational Church in Detroit Lakes, with Rev. Mark Kuether officiating.
The David - Donehower Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Mamie J. Jaster

Feb. 28, 1911 - June 9, 2000
Mamie J. Jaster, 89, the last surviving charter member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Callaway, died Friday, June 9, at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.
The funeral was at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Callaway, with Rev. James Wasmuth officiating. Glenise Donley was the organist.
Interment was at Oak Grove Cemetery in Detroit Lakes, with the West - Kjos Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Serving as the pallbearers were Matthew Jaster, Jim Lindsay, Kyle Jaster, Darwin Lusty, Duane Lindsay and Lyle Osten.
Mamie J. Lusty, daughter of Iver and Anna Aho Lusty, was born at Kingston on Feb. 28, 1911.
She moved with her family to the Ogema area as a young child and married Reuben A. Jaster at Detroit Lakes on Sept. 7, 1932.
They farmed near Callaway for many years, retired in 1968 and moved to Sugar Bush Lake before moving to Callaway in 1980.
Mrs. Jaster moved to an adult foster care facility (Christina’s Place) in 1995 and entered Emmanuel Nursing Home last year.
Surviving are a daughter - in - law - Rita Jaster, Callaway; four sisters - Mable Mosher, Vivian Lindsay and Sigrid Lindsay, all of Ogema, and Sadie Taber, Eagle Lake, and a brother - August Lusty, Detroit Lakes. There are five grandchildren, seven great - grandchildren and one great - great - grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her husband, a son (Reuben A. Jaster Jr.), her parents and a brother.

Lorraine H. Guida

June 15, 1921 - June 9, 2000
Services were at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, from the West - Kjos Chapel in Detroit Lakes for Lorraine H. Guida.
Mrs. Guida, 78, the wife of Lester Guida, died at St. Mary’s Nursing Center on Friday, June 9.
Rev. Tim Cook officiated at the funeral and the musicians were Rachel DeBoer Jerod Guida and Lynette Guida.
Interment was at Oak Grove Cemetery, with the West - Kjos Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Serving as the pallbearers were Don Guida, Roger Guida, Gary Guida, Curt Guida, Dean Guida, Richard Guida and Glen Guida.
Lorraine Hope Yeoman, who also was known as Lori and was the daughter of Ira and Florence Halliday Yeoman, was born in Fargo on June 15, 1921.
She grew up in Fargo, graduated from North Dakota Agricultural College (Class of 1936), moved to Detroit Lakes in 1950 and married Lester I. Guida in Sisseton, S. D., on Nov. 27, 1970.
Survivors include her husband - Lester Guida, Detroit Lakes; two sons - Richard (Diane) Melander, Racine, Wis., and Willis (Carol) Melander Jr., Borden, Ind.; a brother - Donald (Mildred Yeoman, Fort Wayne, Ind., and a sister - Lois Ann (Francis) Day, Culver, Ind. There are eight grandchildren, three great - grandchildren, 11 step - children, 31 step - grandchildren, 21 step - great - grandchildren, four nieces and five nephews.
Preceding Mrs. Guida in death were her parents, a daughter (Bonnie Jean) and a brother (Kenneth Yeoman).
