Lois R. Ohman
July 26, 1931 - July 3, 2000
Services were at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, from the United Methodist Church in Detroit Lakes for Lois R. Ohman.
Lois Ohman, 68, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids on Monday, July 3.
Reva Husby officiated at the funeral, Mary Jo Suttie was the organist and the soloist was Kim Schnitzer.
Interment was at Oak Grove Cemetery, with the West - Kjos Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Serving as the pallbearers were Sheldon Olson, Jonathan Olson, Mike Holtgrewe, Jeff Ohman, Peter Ohman and Wade Moore.
Lois Ohman, daughter of Conrad and Gladys Johnson Ohman, was born at Audubon on July 26, 1931.
She grew up in Detroit Lakes, graduated from Detroit Lakes High School (Class of 1949) and received a teaching degree at St. Cloud State University.
Miss Ohman taught in the Twin Cities, at San Bernadino, Calif., at Moses Lake, Wash., and then moved to Moorhead, where she taught for 22 years at the Washington Elementary School. She retired in 1992 after teaching for 38 years.
She had been a resident at Walker since April, 1999.
A life member of the Minnesota Education Association and the National Education Association, she was a member of the United Methodist Church in Moorhead.
Surviving are two brothers - Darrell (Avis) Ohman, Fargo, and Wesley (Dolores) Ohman, St. Paul. A nephew, four nieces, five grand - nephews and four grand - nieces also survive.
Miss Ohman was preceded in death by her parents.

Clarence L. Schultz
Feb. 26, 1911 - July 4, 2000
Clarence L. Schultz, 89, died at his home in Frazee on Tuesday, July 4.
The funeral was at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 7, from the Frazee United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Barbara Bolz officiating.
Interment was at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee, with the Furey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Clarence Leonard Schultz, son of Albert and Lillie Waalk Schultz, was born at Frazee on Feb. 26, 1911.
He was raised and attended school in Frazee and then worked with his father in a sawmill he owned in Frazee.
On Sept. 16, 1936, Mr. Schultz and Bessie L. Hand were married.
Mr. Schultz enjoyed playing cards at the senior center, going for car rides and hunting and fishing.
Surviving are two brothers - Floyd (LaVonne), Frazee, and Rudy (Phyllis), Antioch, Calif., and three sisters - Alice (Roy) Purcell, Rialto, Calif.; Evelyn (Ralph) Carlson, Moorhead, and Adelina (Stanley) Simon, New Prague.
Preceding Mr. Schultz in death were his wife (who died Feb. 23, 1985), his parents, three brothers (Frank, Wilfred and LeRoy) and two sisters (Tiny and Viola).

Faye C. Southwell
May 18, 1906 - July 5, 2000
Faye C. Southwell, 94, died Wednesday, July 5, at the Frazee Care Center, where she had been a resident since January, 1996.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, from the Frazee Care Center, with the Rev. Barbara Bolz officiating.
Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee, with the Furey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Faye Caroline Olson, daughter of Alfred and Signe Mattson Olson, was born at Bertha, Nebr., on May 18, 1906, where she was raised and where she attended the Divide Center School in Burt County.
Following school, she worked as a nanny in the Craig, Nebr., area and - in September, 1925 - married Milon Southwell.
They lived in Bertha, where she worked in a grocery store, and then moved to Frazee in 1954, where she worked at the Lakeland Turkey Plant from 1954 - 68.
A member of Endeavor Rebekah Lodge No. 104 of Detroit Lakes, she also belonged to the United Methodist Church and the UMW of Frazee.
Surviving are a son - Ronald (Barbara) Goodman, Frazee, and a sister - Mabel Beckstrom, Oakland, Nebr. There are six grandchildren and 17 great - grandchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Southwell in death were her husband (who died in 1963), a son (who died in infancy), four brothers (Ted, Clyde, Raymond and Kenneth) and three sisters (Maude, Edna and Lucille).
Visitation: Sunday, July 9, one hour prior to service at the Frazee Care Center.

Waldo C. Krogman
July 4, 1910 - July 9, 2000
A longtime Frazee area resident, Waldo C. Krogman, died Sunday, July 9, at the Frazee Care Center. He was 90.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, from Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, with the Rev. William Aufdenkamp officiating.
Interment was at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee, with the Furey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Waldo C. Krogman, son of Julius and Dorathea Sievert Krogman, was born July 4, 1910, in Sherman, S. D., moved with his family to Pipestone in southwestern Minnesota and attended school there.
The family then moved to the Frazee area, where Mr. Krogman helped on the family farm.
He was with the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) at Bovey in 1932 and then moved back to the Frazee area and worked at a sawmill owned by Ed Franklin in northeastern Becker County near Ice Cracking Lake.
Mr. Krogman and Louise Wothe were married May 25, 1939, in Frazee.
He later worked for the Northern Pacific Railway Co. and then served with the U. S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart after being wounded in action.
Upon receiving his discharge from the armed forces, he rejoined the Northern Pacific Railway Co. and served as a track supervisor for 26 years until retiring on June 1, 1974.
Mrs. Krogman died Nov. 16, 1976, and Mr. Krogman married Maylinda Ketter at Frazee on Oct. 29, 1977.
A charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7702 in Frazee, he served as commander of the post in 1961 and in 1962. He was a volunteer at the Frazee Care Center for over 20 years and made many gifts for his family and friends at his woodworking shop.
Surviving are his wife - Maylinda, Frazee, and four daughters - Marion (Norman) Eidenschink, Moorhead; Marjorie (Norman) Sorensen, Florence, Ore.; Donna (Orlin) Olson, Elbow Lake, and Delores Mellum, Minneapolis. There are eight grandchildren and 13 great - grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife, Mr. Krogman also was preceded in death by his parents, a sister (Elsie Tweton), two brothers (John and Eldo) and three grandchildren.

Mary A. Sanden
March 13, 1918 - July 7, 2000
Mary A. Sanden, 82, Detroit Lakes, died at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo on Friday, July 7.
The funeral was at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, from Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes.
Fr. Jerry Rogers officiated at the funeral, Kim Schnitzer was the soloist, Scott Mehlhaff was the organist and vocal music also was by the Resurrection Choir.
Interment was at Holy Rosary Cemetery, with the David - Donehower Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Serving as the pallbearers were Dennis Morris, Joseph Morris, Ronald Morris, Roger Morris, Gloria Janke, Geraldine Kautzman and Barbara Wilke.
Grandchildren were honorary pallbearers.
Mary Anna Garross, daughter of Thomas and Emma Higgins Garross, was born March 13, 1918, in Bismarck, N. D., and married Brandt Morris at Bismarck on Sept. 14, 1936.
They lived in Bismarck until moving to a farm near Detroit Lakes in 1949. Mrs. Morris also worked at Bunnell’s Recreation, the Erie Jr. and the Fireside.
Mr. Morris died in 1964 and she married Edsel Sanden at Detroit Lakes on Nov. 19, 1966.
They lived in St. Paul, where she worked for the Pearson Candy Co. The Sandens returned to Detroit Lakes in 1985.
Surviving are her husband - Edsel, Detroit Lakes; four sons - Dennis (Peggy) Morris, Okanogan, Wash.; Joseph Morris and Ronald (Carole) Morris, both Detroit Lakes, and Roger (Anne) Morris, Fargo; three daughters - Gloria (Walt) Janke, Omaha, Nebr.; Geraldine (Edward) Kautzman, Mandan, N. D., and Barbara "Bobbi" (Richard) Wilke, Detroit Lakes; a stepson - Timothy (Paula) Sanden, Moorhead; a brother - John Garross, who lives in the state of Washington, and two sisters - Dorothy Howe, Bismarck, N. D., and Margaret Garross, California. There are 19 grandchildren, two step - grandchildren and 20 great - grandchildren.
In additiom to her first husband, she also was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters.

Mildred E. Nybo
July 27, 1917 - July 5, 2000
Mildred E. Nybo, 82, the widow of Norris Nybo, died Wednesday, July 5, at St. Mary’s Nursing Center in Detroit Lakes.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 10, from First Lutheran Church.
Rev. Mervin Thompson will officiate at the funeral, Juliette Gunderson will be the organist and the soloist will be Clint Felker.
Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, with the West - Kjos Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Serving as the active pallbearers will be Paul Nybo, Jason Schroeder, Alysha Schroeder, David Nybo, Tracy Nybo, Patrick Schroeder, Bill Nelsen, Trevor Nybo, Shauna Nelsen, Andy Nybo and Keri Rose.
Mildred E. Beck, daughter of John and Anna Lofstom Beck, was born at Detroit Lakes on July 27, 1917.
She grew up in Detroit Lakes, graduated from Detroit Lakes High School (Class of 1935) and attended the Detroit Lakes Business College.
On July 11, 1941, she and Norris Nybo were married in Detroit Lakes.
Mrs. Nybo joined the Minnesota Department of Motor Vehicles as the first deputy registrar for the state and then for Becker County and retired in 1979 after working for 35 years.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Surviving are two sons - Paul (Christine) Nybo and David Nybo, both Detroit Lakes; a daughter - Noreen (Bill) Schroeder, Wentzville, Mo.; a brother - Marvin Beck, Detroit Lakes, and a sister - Lorraine Mackner, Detroit Lakes. There are 10 grandchildren and three great - grandchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Nybo in death were her husband (who died Jan. 25, 1994), a daughter (Nancy, who died Sept. 5, 1979), her parents, a grandson, two brothers and a sister.
Visitation: Sunday, July 9, West - Kjos Funeral Home, 3 - 7 p.m. and also one hour prior to funeral on Monday at First Lutheran Church.
